Every doctor told me I’d never have a baby. But after just one night, I’m pregnant with his little miracle.
Elias Weaver is the kind of guy I should avoid. He's the mayor's son, and his bad boy reputation makes me nervous. But I put all that aside for just one night, and I make the best mistake of my life.
He gets me pregnant. It's a one-in-a-million chance, but of course it happens to me.
I’m having his miracle baby, but I’m not sure that I’m ready to be a mother.
We barely know each other. He’s handsome, cocky, funny, and completely blew my mind in bed, but I’m drowning in debt and barely able to take care of myself.
He wants to step up and be a father. More than that, he wants me. I decided to give my baby up for adoption, but he’s starting to make me reconsider.
Everything about him drives me wild. His touch, his stare, the way he laughs as his hands slide down my back.
He’s not letting go without a fight. He’s going to remind me why I gave myself to him that first night.
If he keeps touching me, I just might give him everything he wants and more.
His Miracle Baby is an over-the-top bad boy romance with tons of steamy scenes, some graphic violence, and bad language. It’s only recommended for readers 18+.
His Miracle Baby is a STANDALONE, full-length novel. No cliffhanger. Guaranteed HEA. Includes bonus content!

The setting: Providence, RI
The Hero(s):Elias - his father is the corrupt Mayor of Providence and owes the Mafia over $800,000. They are coming after Elias for payment. Elias has never had a good relationship with his father though his father is popular with the people. He was never there for Elias. Elias owns a custom Motorcycle shop where he designs and paints custom bikes.
The heroine:Alexa - was in a car accident a few years ago and was told that her chances of getting pregnant were one in a million. Alexa lost her parents in a plane crash and is working in a job she dislikes trying to pay down student loan debt.
The Love Story: Elias and Alexa have a one-night stand and are a bit reckless with protection since Alexa couldn’t get pregnant. When she finds out she is pregnant she goes to Elias to let him know though she plans to give the baby up.
I felt this books wasn’t quite as good as many of the BB Hamel books I have read. It definitely wasn’t bad, but there were plot holes that bothered me. I know there are women who never want to have children but it seems to me someone who lost the ability to have kids before even deciding if she wanted them would not be so quick to give up the one in a million opportunity she was given. Alexa seemed a bit to OK with the thought of adoption, saying that she never expected to have children so she basically never developed a want for children.
I also thought Elias was a bit too nice to be considered a bad boy. He was quite dirty in bed, but he seemed just a bit boring otherwise. The story was quite steamy and I did enjoy it, but it isn’t something I would read again. This one gets 3.6 stars (rounded up to 4).
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

I loved this story. It is such a wonderfully written story.
A pregnancy that should never be, brings the mob crushing down into Alexa's life. But even when the worse things happen love can come through.
Elias is the Mayor's son. He has never gotten along with Buddy (the Mayor), but they stay out of each other's way. But when Alexa becomes pregnant and the mob is threatening the one person he loves because of Buddy. All bets are off.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.
I would have to rate this book 2 out of 5 star rating. I had decided to give BB Hamel another chance by reading this book and I am interested in another book of hers, but will probably read that book later in the future or soon, who knows when. The only thing I liked about the book is that the main male character Elias Weaver was the type of man that said he would not be like his father and would be a better man to his unborn child and partner by not being absent in their life and always being there for them. I absolutely loved that part it made me want a man like that for myself. I only recommend this book for that part and Elias Weaver.
The plot was mediocre. The romance wasn't clear. The suspense was not intense at all and was wrapped up in a way I saw from the beginning. The characters were not well developed and experienced no growth or change, other than circumstances.

----SUMMARY---- It's the mayor's office Christmas party, feels more like donor banquet. Alexa's underdressed because she came straight from the office, so needs a drink. Steals bar seat from old man. Cute guy says Thanks for getting seat first. He's scruffy, jeans. They flirt about blood jewels, making fun of everyone there. She knows Mayor Toddy Weaver is corrupt, but she needs paycheck. After an hour, he takes her through the kitchen, up the service elevator for a view of Providence. He thinks the city is rotten at the center, but this view… He kisses her. They have sex. She tells him she can't get pregnant, so he climaxes inside her. They get dressed, talk for another hour. He builds custom motorcycles. She was orphaned 2ya. They exchange numbers.
She's glad. Life's been rough since her parents died. Student loans, job she doesn't like, no safety net. It was good to be wild. She'd been in an accident years ago, scarred fallopian tubes. She thinks about him a long time.
2ml, Elias is working on a bike. His dad's the mayor. His mom died 3ya; he considers himself an orphan. He still thinks about Alexa. Marko comes in, a captain in the state's biggest crime family. They've been friends since childhood. Dad owes $800K; Elias might get fallout. Marko leaves, Alexa is on the steps. I'm pregnant.
Dr says it's a 1 in a million chance. She's giving it up for adoption; she can't afford herself, much less a baby. He invites her back to the work area, shows her the garish bike someone's paying big money to him to build. Business is good. He tells her how he got into it, did it with no help. She knows he's mayor's son. She doesn't want to leave, but…. She's sad she'll never see him again.
He meets Marko for drinks and advice. What an i supposed to do? What do you want to do. Without thinking, Elias says I want her. You have your answer.
She thinks about the look he gave her as she left, searching, pleading, and confused, unhappy to see her go. She asks her coworker friend, Taylor, about him. Of course everybody saw them flirting that night. Taylor jokes Alexa's in love with him. A few days later, he texts her to take her to lunch. He takes her to the back entrance of a high-end restaurant. Did a job for cheap for a cook, Luis. After they eat, E: in glass you came with me, I got the feeling you didn't want to see me again. A: I don't want you to feel you have to do anything. E: What if I want to do something? I won't be like my father. I'm not going anywhere. A: I'm still giving it up. E: We'll see. He drives her back. She sees 2 SUVs follow him when he leaves.
Elias smiles all the way back. Until Vito and Jimmy get out of their SUV. They go to the back of the shop. He doesn't have the kind of money they're looking for. They break what can be broken, mess up the rest. Find money so we don't have to come back. Except they just made it lots harder for him to get any. Then he thinks of Alexa and their baby, feels hopeful.
Alexa brings pizza to his shop, finds him cleaning in the back. What happened? My father. “I assume you’re here to admit that I’d make a great father and to beg for me to stay in your life forever?” No, I brought pizza. Even better. They eat, then she starts cleaning. He joins. Little touches, little looks. They banter about sex relieving tension. “I don’t want to add to your stress,” he says again. “But I want you and I want the baby.” But this place is a mess for a reason, and that reason could make your life harder. She goes back to work. Maybe he is too dangerous. All I know is I keep getting drawn back to him, even if I keep telling myself that I need to stay away. It’s the way he looks at me, the way he talks to me. He makes me feel important, special. He makes me feel wanted.
Elias wants to be with Alexa and their baby, but he didn't want them mixed up in this. He needs to take care of his baby while saving his dad. He rides to Alexa's office to invite her to lunch. They have a nice ride, almost as good stress relief as sex for him. They stop, he wants to show her something, walks off because she's cute when frustrated. He also likes it when she rolls her eyes. He likes when she trusts him and is brave walking onto an old dock. He's more relaxed sitting by her. Dad was a good dad until he became mayor. She says it's the corruption. He agrees; everyone's in the mob or knows someone who is. She's been leaning on his shoulder, leans back. In her eyes he sees their life together out of this town, kisses her. He wants her, but has to go slow.
She can't stop thinking about him. The doctor reaffirms it's a miracle baby. Or is it bad luck? She can't let Elias confuse her. At the office, everyone's cold. Near the end of the day, the mayor calls her in. You know my son. Not well. Friends? Lovers? No. Good, I don't want anyone in my office dating him. He's bad for you and you're bad for him. The office thinks she's been sleeping her way ahead. All she wants to do is see Elias. But she needs a roof and food.
Elias goes to her apartment because she's ghosted him. He's worried about the mob. But most importantly, she’s pregnant with my baby, and I need to make sure I take care of her. That’s all there is to it. She’s mine and so is her baby, and she has to come to grips with that. She shows him her tiny cheap apartment. I need that job. Tells him what mayor said. I'll talk to him. “You’re mine, and that baby’s mine. And my father isn’t getting in the way of what I want.” She's speechless. He's angry, leaves to find father in his bar. She's a nobody, you can do better. I'm the only one who cares about your problem with the mob. Thought you hated me. I do. Leave Alexa alone. She's carrying my baby.
She still has a job in the morning. She and Taylor laugh about her being shunned. She keeps hearing Elias say You're mine. Not just the baby, her. She likes it. He's waiting in the lobby when work's done. She can be seen with him because he threatened not to help Dad if he kept interfering. I know what you need: me.
Elias knows he can take care of them both, and the more he gets to know her, the more he wants it. Marko stops by, didn't know about shake down. They know we're friends. They're probably gonna kill your dad. You've gotta skip town or you'll get hurt too when they rob your shop. The only thing I really want is her and the baby. So they can have my bikes, my money, my life. I don’t care about that, as long as I can have her.
A week goes by. He's texted a few times. Big guys keep barging into mayor's office. She asks Taylor about the mafia. Don't say that out loud. Everybody knows about it and ignores it. Half the town's in it. Friday she takes stuff to get mayor's signature, knocks and walks. Somebody's choking the mayor. What do you see? The mayor, alone, signing documents. They let her leave. In her car, she screams, drives to Elias's shop, runs into the back, cries. He wraps her in his arms, holds her tight.
You're safe with me. Tell me what happened. She does, thinks her dad tried to help her not get hurt. He's not sure how to feel about that. He'll keep her safe. He has connections, they can always run. Let's eat, you're in shock. He takes her to his home, makes her dinner, plus what to do when they use her against him. I’m stuck and I know it. I can stay with her, protect her, and potentially risk her, or I can be a terrible father and walk away from her entirely. She asks if he really meant it when he said he'd protect her. Absolutely. Takes her to living room, gives her photo album. It's his life. Dad's in none of them. “I don’t want to be like my father. I’m not going to abandon the people I care about, no matter how hard it gets. No matter what I do. I won’t be missing from a single photo of our baby.” He kisses her.
He's the father she's want for her child, but can she be the mother? Touching Elias makes her forget all her issues. They make love all night long. At breakfast, he says Live with me so I can keep you safe. “I’ll do it, but not for you or for me. I’ll do it because I think it’s the best thing for the baby.” He jokes she's getting addicted to his loving. They take his truck to get her stuff. He drives by her place without pulling in. Jimmy's parked outside. Without Vito to keep him in line.
She moves into his spare room. At work, she thinks they could be a real couple, likes that idea. But what happens when all this mafia business is over? He’s a playboy, way too handsome for me. He says he wants to be a father to this child but I don’t know if he really understands what that means. She goes home, then to his shop. Marko's going to be here soon. He explains what a captain is. Marko comes with the rest of her stuff. Elias's idea, but he did the breaking in. Criminal, you know? He tells Elias they're torturing Dad. When Marko leaves, she says We gotta check on him because if he's killed, you're next.
They go to Dad's castle. When he finally answers, he hugs Elias, You really do care. He's drunk, wearing stained sweatshirt and briefs. He invites them in. It reeks of vomit, alcohol, and body odor. Alexa keeps them talking and civil until Dad's drunk sleep. Elias takes her upstairs to his old room, makes love to her. He tells her he wants to put another baby in her, that every second with her is the best of his life. She thinks maybe they can work.
When they go home, several SUVs surround his shop. Raymond, the boss, is there. Raymond says the son is responsible for the sins of the father, family is everything. Elias gives him all the cash he has, ~$4K. He'll make the rest of the payment in a week. Elias will give everything he has, including his life, to protect Alexa and the baby.
She's scared. For 3 days, she works like normal, spends nights in Elias's bed, sleeping only because she has to. She likes the image of them as a family. Marko calls; they found Dad, he's asking for Alexa. Elias offers to give her money so she can run. She chooses to stay. They drive to a nowhere town, down a dark road. She sees the dead hooker in the trunk, gets into a SUV with Dad, who completely writes off his responsibility to Elias and to Raymond, sure of his power. He wanted to see her to know if he got any important calls at the office. She gets out, Elias hugs her. We need to give Toddy to Raymond. Toddy can't save us, but I can.
They lock Toddy in his bedroom. Later, Elias tells him to sell everything and give it all to Raymond to save 4 lives. Toddy won't, laughs. Elias beats him up, would've killed him had Alexa not intervened. They relock Toddy's bedroom, then make love all night long.
In the morning, Marko comes to day Raymond is coming. As Elias walks him to the door, he asks him to keep Alexa safe. Hopes he'll see him again. When Raymond comes, he sits at the table with them, sends his goons to to Toddy's room. He doesn't actually believe the son should answer for the father, but he doesn't want to look weak. Elias offers him the house, everything, and they'll leave and never come back. Raymond looks at Alexa: So you live this man? Yes. He looks at Elias: You love her? Yes, and the baby we're having. That satisfies Raymond. Good, make it legal, then leave. The goons being Toddy in. Raymond kills him.
They burn their blood spattered clothes, take a shower. She cries, he can't. They pack in about an hour, decide to go to California, both very happy.
2yl, they're in Redding, he's got a bike business, she's pregnant again. Raymond had a heart attack a month after they left, leaving the mafia in turmoil and taking the heat off them. Marko sold Elias's everything, sent them money. They got married in Wisconsin. Not a fairytale wedding, but it is a fairytale marriage. Today they're going for a picnic. He gives her a check that covers her student loans and an engagement ring (couldn't afford when they got married). He's a wonderful father, a wonderful husband, and her life is pretty near perfect.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Alexa and Elias Weaver. Both of them are at a party they don't want to be at but are required to attend. That night they find something they didn't expect someone who is open to something more even if it is just for one night. One statement on the reckless night will change everything for both of them. Will this bring them together or will it drive them to go running for the hills?
This is an amazing book. It will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. It has some ups and downs that I really want to tell you about but don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this is one of those book that you either need something cool near by or someone to help you with the burn. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
His Miracle Baby is a hold on to your seats it's going to be a bumpy ride 4 star book. This book has action, adventure, deceit, betrayal and a love that will stand up to anything. I loved Alexa and Elias' s story and read it in one sitting. This is a well written book that will keep you gripped and wanting to know what happened next. Alexa and Elias had an undeniable chemistry and one fun and exciting night together changed both their lives forever. This is a great book and I couldn't get enough of their story. I recommend you one click this book and enjoy spending time with their HEA.
His Miracle Baby by B. B. Hamel is a great bad boy romance story filled with the mafia, a corrupted mayor, drama, secrets, danger, loss, fate, love, and a miracle.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Didn´t write a review in ages, but this time it felt like I needed to say a few things.
Blurb:
Alexa can never get pregnant, so the doctors told her. But one night with Elias Weaver Proofs them wrong. She wants to give up the Baby for Adoption, but he wants to fight - not only for his Baby, but for her too. Can he Change her mind? But first he has to deal with his hithead of a Father and the Mafia …
My Opinion: Well, it was an ok read to be honest. Nothing Fancy, a bit too much cliche, but then again - there were so many things wrong with the Story - the Heroine doesn´t bother with any form of birth Control because - du - she can´t get pregnant. But what About STD? Thought about that? Nooooo
The part of the Story with the Mafia came out of nowhere and in my opinion it was added for a little bit more unnecessary Drama.
In the end they got their HEA, but a bit too easy with the Mafia involved - if you know what I mean.
Geeze it seemed like every page the baby was mentioned. Overkill! Overall quality of writing was fair and the proofreading had a few glitches. Intimacy scenes were not hot, just scenes. It's a Mafia story with no cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ending.
Elias is too alpha for me, it was irritating. Also, it has the 'love at first sight' trope in it and I wasn't a fan. Alexa is also not to my liking. Maybe they will change/improve as the story goes, I don't know.
Not liking the story, so dnf for now. Not sure if I'll ever resume. :(
She is basically a drone, working for the mayor. That doesn't mean that Alexa isn't one of the better assistants that the mayor has ever had. Alexa doesn't have much, no family, not many good friends. However she was invited to the Mayor's party, wanting to sit at the bar and have a drink. Little did she know that was the way fate decided to intervene.
He is the son of the Mayor, he has seen corruption and he has seen loss. Elias has lost his mother, and his father is lost to him since his mother's death. He is at this party because he is basically expected to show once in a while. His saving grace just sat next to him at the bar. Funny how fate really does have a good idea sometimes.
Alexa takes the seat at the bar before a "gentleman" does, Elias thanks her for saving him. Apparently the guy was a business associate somehow of his fathers, and that is the last thing Elias wants to deal with. It is bad enough he is there in the first place. Alexa orders her drink, and the two talk. Neither realize how much they have had, and Elias is leading her through the people to show her something. He takes her to the roof and the sights are beautiful. The electricity between these two is so sharp and stinging, wonderful things happen, and a decision made between the two happens. Alexa leaves and doesn't hear from Elias after. Not really something she worries about though, until that decision made has consequences.
Alexa was in a horrible car accident a while ago, she was told that she would never be able to, but that must have been something fate didn't really like. A one in a million chance and Alexa won that jackpot. She tells Elias. They somewhat discuss this. Elias sees this as a good thing, he thinks about all the things he WILL be and how much unlike his father he will be. Elias knows that Alexa will be his and so will their miracle. Alexa is not willing to hold on to this. She feels a better path would be not to a part of this new life. Things change though. There are secrets to every family, but when you are the Mayor or family there seem to be big secrets.
Dad owes big time money, poor Elias is being held responsible for his father's debt. His shop is trashed and in order to keep Alexa and the baby safe is to get into an agreement. This is dangerous and not something easy to do, but Elias has to, he will not abandon Alexa or his/their baby. As they tackle hurdles in the road, Alexa sees the seedier side of things, and she sees how Elias isn't being a horrible person, he wants her and he wants to be together, all of them. He is willing to give up everything for them. Open eyes and opening their hearts start to happen between Alexa and Elias.
There are no small hurdles for these two, and the last hurdle will launch them in a direction that really wasn't expected but turns out to be a huge blessing in disguise. A fresh beginning for them. The debt is taken care of, dad is taken care of, Alexa and Elias move far away and begin new. All the fighting to stay as they are is gone, and it buds into a very sweet, sexy happy ever after, with a lot more to their happiness joining in soon.

Separated by insecurity, lack of communication, and Will’s being recruited to the HKL in Russia, they are reunited when the injured Will returns home. Single mother Addie is both furious and strongly attracted to the man who used to be her best friend, her daughter’s father. 18+ recommended. A dark story with extended gymnastic, intimate scenes.
This was an appealing and intriguing book and one which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. The various twists and turns only add to the enhancement of the storyline. As far as Alexa believes, there is no chance she can ever become pregnant, while Elias, once he hears he is to become a father, is determined to do everything in his power to be worthy. But while Alexa and Elias come to terms with what Fate has brought them, they have to contend with outside influences.
Providence is a town owned by the Mafia. As the Mayor of Providence, Buddy has a reputation for being a supposedly corrupt crook, a drunk and a womaniser, but everyone likes him and he has a huge personality. It is not exactly Alexa’s dream job working in the mayor’s office, but she is trying to make a life for herself in the only town she has ever known; that is why her job is important to her. Elias owns a motorcycle business and builds custom bikes; he is also the Mayor’s son. When Elias was really young, Buddy was a good father, always around and always happy, but he was never the same once he became Mayor. Elias now has a good life in Providence, a life he has built without Buddy; he has no respect for his father after the way he treated both him and his mother. Marko works for the Costa crime family, but he and Elias have bee good friends since they were children, and Marko warns Elias that some of Buddy’s recent actions may well result in repercussions for Elias. Elias and Alexa meet at an office party, but she doesn’t know he is the Mayor’s son. To Elias it felt good that Alexa liked him for himself and not for who he was, but as far as Alexa is concerned, they had their night and now it is time to move ahead with her life. But 2-months later Alexa tracks Elias down to tell him she is pregnant; this is incredibly rare for her, a one in a million chance. Elias too is surprised at first, but as the news finally begins to sink in, he realises that he wants to be a proper father to his child; he is going to give Alexa and his baby a better life than his father ever gave him, no matter what. But first Elias has to settle matters with the Mafia because Buddy has become a liability. Raymond Costa cannot show weakness, but he is prepared to offer Elias a deal if he is prepared to accept it. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Alexa hasn't had the easiest of lives with her parents dying in an accident and now she is drowning in college debts. However, she's back in Providence and has a job in the Mayor's office and doing okay. It's his birthday and everyone is invited to the party . She sits at the bar to get a drink and the most handsome man she's ever seen starts talking to her. His name is Elias and he is funny, interesting, charming, sexy and just gorgeous and she can't believe her luck. He persuades to go with him and she duly follows and he takes her to see an amazing view of their town and it's surroundings, it's romantic, he's gorgeous and one thing leads to another and...Months later she realises that she needs to find him as a miracle has occurred and she is pregnant [she had been told it was impossible for her to get pregnant]!! Elias was easy to find even though she could have just phoned him she went to see him in person and he was really pleased to see her again and had been thinking of her and when she tells him of their miracle he is really pleased but wary as Alexa says that she can't afford to have a child and will give it up for adoption and he doesn't have to be involved. But Elias is a real man, has real feelings for her and his baby and is going to do all he can to make Alexa and their baby His!!! problems only occur when a corrupt mayor and the mafia get involved. B.B. Hamel has created such a great and unique storyline here. I loved Elias as he's had a tough life too but is so caring and tries to do his best and makes good on his responsibilities. His friend Marko was a great friend to have but I don't think I would have wanted to be his wife! Alexa has been alone for so long that when someone, i.e. Elias, shows that he does care for her way more than as a mere friend, it is lovely to see her blossom to know that she's not on her own. Vito and Jimmy are scary and Jimmy really should have been kept muzzled! A great solution and ending to the story. My favourite of B/B.'s books so far.
I received a free reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion here. However, I loved this story so much that I have bought my own copy!
Alexa has a pile of student load debt and took the first job she could get. The job lands her in Providence, working in the mayor's office. Alexa attends an office party where she meets Elias. Unbeknownst to her, Elias is the mayor's son. Alexa and Elias chat each other up and things get hot and heavy.
A couple months later, Alexa shows up to tell him she's knocked up, which is a shock to them both. Especially for Alexa because she didn't think kids were a possibility for her. Elias is shocked by the news but elated at the chance to be a better father than his own. His father has been absent from his life and is as corrupt as they come. Alexa has other plans in mind. She needs this job to pay off her student loans and take care of herself, she's not capable of accomodating anyone else. Elias is determined to change her mind.
One big obstacle gets in the way of Elias trying to woo Alexa. His father, Mayor Buddy Weaver. Dear old dad has gotten himself into a "situation" with the MAFIA and is too oblivious on how to get out of it. And all roads point to Elias as the one to come up with a solution.
This was a great book!! Elias and Alexa had great chemistry. Elias was haunted by his father screwing up his life as a kid and as an adult. No matter how he tried to distance himself from his father's reputation, things still fell onto his shoulders. I can also understand Alexa's point-of-view, she just got out of school, has a ton of debt, and is trying to survive. She had a lot on her plate and was trying to make the smart decision. Mayor Buddy was despicable and an all around jerk. I would've come to Elias and Alexa's decision to hand him over much sooner. Much sooner!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book and was not compensated in any way.
Once again, the story blurb and the cover sucked me in, and I decided to take chance. This was nothing like I expected. Alexa is an administrative office worker for the mayor of Providence. Toddy, the Providence Mayor, is a citizen favorite and openly corrupt. Elias is the mayor’s wayward son; he decided to skip college, open his own custom motorcycle shop, and make a living that had nothing to do with corruption or the Mafia. Alexa and Elias meet at a mixer thrown by the Mayor’s office. Alexa is not aware Elias is Toddy’s son until after the one-night stand which results in her pregnancy.
This novel contains more inner monologues and descriptions than dialogue. I was expecting Elias to be a real bad boy, but he just turned out to be a normal guy in my opinion. His dad, Toddy, was the bad boy of the story and was the catalyst for all the issues Elias and Alexa encountered in the story. The subplot of this story was Toddy’s corruption, gambling, drug abuse, and involvement with the Mafia. I thought the Mafia story subplot was okay and was more exciting than the main story of Alexa and Elias. I wanted more of the psychopath Jimmy and at one point I wondered if he would have his own novel. I do think this novel could have done with one more round with a proofreader. The story did end with a HEA. Overall, this story did not entice me although I finished the story. I was hoping it would get better, however, it stayed consistent. I am going to say I have been jaded by the dark erotica novels I have been reading, so this normal love story could not sustain my darker tastes.
Another steamy HIT for B.B. Hamel! “His Miracle Baby” is absolutely wonderful. Great characters, wonderfully compelling plot and author B.B. Hamel’s great prose – it’s the perfect trifecta of goodness all rolled up in a suspenseful ROMANCE you’ll want to buy for that SPRING BREAK read! Keep a fan ready, you Kindle will get HOT while you read this one! Read the Blurb to get more info on the basic plot, because what I want to tell you is beyond the blurb. Hamel is one of my absolute favorite writers. Her prose is smooth and her research into the background of the stories she writes is superb; leaving the reader an opportunity to just sit back and enjoy a well-written book. There is just enough suspense to keep me ready long after I should have stopped, but make no mistake, “His Miracle Baby” is a ROMANCE through and through! In addition, the characters are rich and so well developed that they could walk off the page into real life at any time . . . If you are looking for something wonderful, to keep you out of your head or relax in the life and love of others, then “His Miracle Baby” is the book for you. I was given an ARC copy of “His Miracle Baby” to prepare this honest voluntary review, and I must give it my STRONGEST recommendation. Get your copy of “His Miracle Baby”, today. A One Night Stand, An Unplanned Pregnancy, And A Corrupt Town Leads To Trouble With The Mob
Alexa, an unpretentious administrative assistant who works in the mayor's office, has a steamy one night stand with a gorgeous guy in a leather jacket whom she meets at a fancy office party full of the city's elite. Two months later, she finds herself pregnant and has figured out that her one nighter was with the mayor's estranged son, Elias.
With no family, no money, and piles of student loan debt, she decides to give the baby up for adoption, but feels obligated to inform Elias. But Elias wants the baby, wants the chance to be a better father than his own father was to him.
While he begins to try to woo Alexa, his corrupt father's ties to the mob become his own problem, as the mob wants to collect his narcissistic father's debt. Elias owns a respectable business building custom motorcycles, but he is not rich, so he and Alexa find themselves targets of the mob.
Elias and Alexa are both sympathetic characters that feel like ordinary people. Elias is no billionaire or ex-Seal. This story is suspenseful, as there seems to be no obvious way out of trouble and the danger is real. In spite of the fear and danger, Elias and Alexa build a relationship. The ending is tense, but the HEA is lovely.
This is one hot and sexy story about Alexa and Elias. Alexa has lost her parents, just graduated college with lots of debt and took the first job offered, working in the mayor’s office. Elias is the mayor’s son but they don’t get along or have a relationship since his mother passed away. One night Buddy, the mayor has a fancy party and Elias goes and ends up at the bar minding his own business. Alexa comes right from work and ends up at the bar drinking with Elias. They have a great conversation and end up on the roof together! Alexa never worried about protection as she was told her injury from a previous accident she could never have children. Yup, she ends up pregnant. Knowing she can not care for the baby she’s planning to put the baby up for adoption. Alexa ends up at Elias's motorcycle shop to share the news. Once Elias knows he wants to raise the baby and make Alexa his he sets out to do just that. Buddy is corrupt and owes the mafia a lot of money but believes his power will keep him safe. The mafia wants their money and if they can’t get it from Buddy they intend to use whatever means to get it out of Elias! Can Elias keep Alexa and the baby safe or will Buddy and his power keep them apart? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
So... I read it. All the way. (I had to skip around a bit about 65% into the book). I was kinda disappointed in this book. In the woman in general. So... slight spoiler if you havent read it. So hear me out. She got pregnant. She says she is not going to keep the baby, she is gonna give it up for adoption. BUT she is so worried about what everyone thinks about her in the office to the point of it being unhealthy. She keeps going on and on about not keeping the baby but goes to Elias to tell him she is pregnant, but doesnt ask him if he'd want to keep the baby himself. (And yes he is just going with the flow of what she is saying after the shock of hearing that she is preggers). She is so stuck on HER that she prolly doesnt need to have a baby true... bit the fact she kept saying it over and over again, even after the father said he wanted her and the baby was just in bad taste. This made me dislike her a lot (especially as a mother myself) and then in turn made me dislike the book. Gave it 3 stars only becuz I didnt want the author to get a horrible review. She wrote well and if not for my hate of the heroine... I'd have prolly liked the book. Hope this helps someone else.
I wasn't expecting a Mafia led story, but this had me turning the pages almost in one sitting! BUT I did finish it in one day.
Loved Alexa, she had a lovely persona about her she was a strong independent lady, until she met him!
He, Elias, was a sweet guy with a bad boy streak due to the life he was born into. But it made him determined, and proving that he could make it without his daddy's influence.
I loved their meeting, at the Works Christmas party no less, he was only there for the free bar, and neither of them were looking for anyone special, Alexa more than Elias was.
I thought Elias and Alexa were great together, and I loved how Alexa tried to hide and deny her feelings for Elias. I'm glad he pushed her until she realised what a difference he was going ot make to both their lives.
Alexa saw some horrible things, and what really impressed me about her was that she seemed to grow stronger. Even encouraging Elias to become a better person. They had great chemistry and was happy with their outcome. This also had great character on the periphery.
It's a fast paced surprise pregnancy. Elias and Alexa hook-up at a party for a night and then go seperate ways. Although, they exchange number they do not contact each other. After 2 months Alexa finds she is pregnant which shouldn't be because of an accident years ago. She informs Elias about her pregnancy and her decision to give the baby for adoption. Elias never expected to be a father thanks to his own but now things have changed. He doesn't want to disappoint his child like his own father did and also he likes Alexa more and more each day and wants a family with her. It isn't going to be easy to convince her to give him a chance and keep the baby. But things get even more complicated when the mob is behind them thanks to his father. Now it's not just about convincing Alexa but also about surviving the whole ordeal. It's good to read them falling in love and giving their relationship a chance. It's a steamy romance filled with suspense. Albeit there was something missing which was the reason I couldn't give the read a 5 star. A good read😊.
Alexa is an underpaid in debt administrative assistant who works for the towns mayor. Elias is a man who builds motorcycles, can; stand his father and is the mayor's son/ When these two meet sparks fly and the come together in a spectacular flame that neither can forget weeks after. This is a story that when you meet the right one they draw you to them and you really can't fight it. As Alexa realizes how naive she may be about the mafia in her town she is drawn into their world through both the mayor and Elias. One will protect her at any cost they other could care less. As these two work to figure out how to be together, get the mafia off their backs and start a life. This was an enjoyable quick read. The only hiccup was that in Chapter 4 Elias tells Marko about Alexa's pregnancy and in chapter 12 they talk like Marko didn't know she was pregnant. I was givne this book for an honest voluntary review.
Corruption weighed heavily in the city of Providence with a dirty Mayor, mob ties, and debauchery at play, but when Alexa, a secretary for the Mayor meets the handsome stranger Elias at an office party things don't seem quite so bleak for a little while. Passions run deep for these two star-cross strangers, thinking one night was all they would have.. Fate stepped in and gave them another chance to explore that connection they both had thought they'd lost. Too bad everything around them is falling apart threating their would be happiness, and lives. Sexy, exciting, witty, sweet fast moving read! Loved the strong characters, and detailed scenes, a one sitting rooting for the couple till the very end kind tale- I enjoyed every minute of getting lost in this story! One uniquely written story I would recommend!
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I liked Alexa and Elias, but I didn't love them tbh. I felt like there wasn't enough depth to their relationship in regards to why they actually loved each other. It seemed mostly physical for Elias and due to the fact that Alexa was pregnant. However, saying that, the first scene where they meet and the bar and then go up to the balcony was very hot, and I enjoyed the first look into their oncoming relationship.
I don't know why, but honestly, Elias kind of reminded me of Mutt from Schitt's Creek and that's how I kept picturing him lol. It was also nice to see how the 'good' and 'bad' mixed with Elias and Marko being good friends, and honestly, I would like to see more about Marko at some point, as he seemed like a complex character with an interesting background.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book. wow what a book, great characters with a excellent well written storyline. B.B. Hamel does it again and writes a great book. I loved Alexa and Elias. Poor Alexa, she was told she couldn't have children due to an accident she was in when she was younger. Alexa feels like she isn't living the life she wanted, having a boring job working for the mayor. At a work do she meets a man that looks out of place there, and she feels they connect because thats how she feels. 1 thing leads to another and after a great streamy session. A miracle happens and she falls pregnant. I love how Elisa and Alexa grow together and how they deal with the drama and some scary stuff that comes their way. A great written book. Highly recommend
