Blackbird: A Green and Pleasant England

Rate this book
The Continuing Adventures of Penelope Victoria Steele… London in the 19th Century of the Second Universe seems the perfect refuge for Penelope and Elizabeth. But instead of proving to be the green and pleasant England that they had so hoped for, the pair quickly find themselves embroiled in the machinations of mysterious figures, shadowy cults and a book that promises to reveal the master plan of an alien enemy. Worse, Penelope discovers a side to herself that she had never known existed and becomes unsure if she, or it, will triumph.

Number 2 of this series was even better than the first one, there were some suprising twists and turns in every chapter, and a lot of good character development!

I've even got a chance to contact the author, there were some easter eggs i never would've caught on to and knowing them made me appreciate the book even more. I could listen to him talk for hours with stories and not get bored!

One thing i would have done is to explain in more detail how she had gotten her tigress powers, i know that it was more than tea with a monk, and i know that the masters had briefly mentioned they "programmed" it but i want to know more about it. I love the fact that it had caused her to second guess herself, it made her very relatable especially as a woman like myself.

The moral of the story itself, is to be open to anything and everything. We need to be more conscious about our decisions and our views of the world around us

Definitely reccomend reading it!

Second book is a satisfying continuation of the Saga

The warrior of the No-When, Penelope, finds new adventures in another universe as she searches for the truth in a scavenger -hunt of a race for knowledge. Martin Schiller keeps the action going as Penny and Elizabeth fight against numerous enemies including Nazis, the Illuminati and aliens. As Penny gets closer to the truth, she uncovers the secrets of her own origins. The story kept me engrossed as I followed Penny as she maneuvered her way through the intricately woven plot twists and turns. Would recommend it to anyone who loves Sci-Fi, fantasy and intrigue.
