When Kendall Kelly's career as the free spirited punk country crossover queen ends in a fiery ball of doom and humiliation, she has no place to go but back to her hometown Blackberry Cove, California, where she abandoned her secret husband years ago without so much as a note. She’s hoping to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and finally cut the last tie to the only man she ever loved.

As part owner of Kelly Family Farms, Damian Sloan has spent the last few years rebuilding the floundering business into a growing organic farm. He thought he'd moved on from his broken heart, but when Kendall barges back into his life—broken but beautiful as ever---he soon realizes he hasn’t forgotten. Or forgiven. Kendall threatens everything he’s built, but he can’t quite turn her away.

Damian and Kendall must put aside their differences for the success of the farm they both depend on. Maybe, in the process, they can rebuild what they tragically lost.

Punk Rock Cowgirl by Kasey Lane is the first in the new Blackberry Cove Cowboys romance series. Kendall Kelly had run off leaving the love of her life and husband, Damian Sloan, behind but now she needs to return to her hometown.

Kendall had expected to return for her grandmother’s funeral and find she had inherited the family farm in which she planned to sell and not look back. However what Kendall finds is that Damian had put a lot into the farm and had a legitimate business going there and Kendall’s grandmother had left him half.

Now this pair needs to confront the past and what led Kendall to turn her back on their love with both of them never really letting go of their relationship. But Kendall also has a career to worry about so would she/could she stay even if she wanted to.

Being that this is a fairly short read I was glad that the couple involved had a history together so it wouldn’t feel like and insta-love type of thing. However, the history that these two share left questions for me and I wondered just how believable it actually was overall.

I would also warn readers that are familiar with Tule romances that this one is on the steamy side with some language whereas most of their titles remain on the cleaner side. Kendall and Damian weren’t particularly a couple I warmed up to quickly either but they did grow on me as the book went on. In the end I’d say this one was simply an OK story rating it at three stars.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Kendall Kelly was the bad girl who married the town's golden boy when she was 18 and left him after two years (breaking his heart) for a music career she never wished for. She's back, four years later, for her grandmother's funeral; a woman who took her in but never showed her any love or affection. "Thanks" to a fraudulent agent and tabloid fodder, the Punk Rock Cowgirl is at a crossroad in her career and since she left her husband without an explanation or a word, she's not welcome at Blackberry Cove. But Kendall doesn't plan to stay anyway. She intend to sell the farmhouse she'll inherited. But oh surprise, her soon to be ex-husband own 50% of the property and already have a business there with goats farming. And if Damian have a say in this; he'll make her see what she missed when she ran away.

Obviously, we all want to know why the heroine left in the first place. I'm not telling you, you'll have to read the story but if like me you don't like bad surprise, know that it was nothing tragic or something like that, more like the usual lack of communication between two people. Right from the start, you'll see that sparks and sexual chemistry is not dead between Kendall and Damian. He's still angry but touching her bring a different emotion, something he wish had vanished with time.

Punk Rock Cowgirl is the first book in a new series by Kasey Lane. I learned only recently about it and was glad to know it was coming and so soon because I read her two other books last year and really loved them. With this one, I found again the writing style that impressed me with the beautiful feels that fill my romantic soul as a reader. There's something so satisfying in reading about two hearts who're destined to be together, no matter the time, the distance or the circumstances. I like when the town feel like a character but it wasn't the case with Blackberry Cove. I wanted to know more about the pulse, the heart and the whole story of the place. I feel like I didn't learn enough about it and hope it will be addressed in the next book.

If the beautiful cover didn't convince you to read this novel, I hope my review will :p

Punk Rock Cowgirl was such a delightful read. Just one of those books that you were so glad that you picked up. I read this on in one sitting. It´s always nice with a romance story where you give love another chance. It had depth and feeling and a lot of hot romance. Just loved it.

Kendall Kelly left Blackberry Cove and her husband and became famous for her songs. Now that her grandmother is gone, she's back. Can the runaway wife face her bitter husband? Kendall had so many secrets and insecurities. I was sympathetic to her plight. She did what she thought was right and it broke her. The shock of seeing her husband again was difficult. Their chemistry was as powerful as ever, but their separation had driven a wedge between them. Damian Sloane is angry and wants revenge. He loved his wife with every fiber of his being then she ran away. I understood his feelings of betrayal. I wanted Kendall to tell him the truth. Nothing will change unless they work together. I enjoyed Punk Rock Cowgirl and the writing of Kasey Lane. Her characters were larger than life and the story was emotional journey to redemption.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

I loved this one! This is good old fashioned romance, with an alpha cowboy hero and a heroine who is figuring out her own crap but taking none of it from others. Kendall Kelly has crashed and burned as a crossover country music star. When her witch of a grandmother dies, Kendall goes home to Blackberry Cove for the funeral. The last person she wants to deal with is her husband, Damian Sloane. Kendall took off without a word a few years ago, but they aren't divorced yet and Damian isn't letting go that easily. When I do the math, I realize how young these characters must be. There is undeniable heat between the two of them. They've each grown a lot during their time apart, but they have to figure out whether and how to be honest with each other, as well as their own selves Only then can Kendall and Damian figure out whether they are going forward together or separately. Friends and family are introduced, building the world of Blackberry Cove with plenty of characters to both love and hate. The HEA is just right, with a nice little bonus epilogue. I'm excited for the rest of the series and recommend this to all romance fans.

Kendall’s life isn’t turning out quite like she expected. Sure, she’s made it big with her singing career but that also carries the majority of her troubles right now. After some major betrayals and humiliations she’s headed back to the one place she never thought to return to… home. Her grandmother’s death could change a lot of things in Kendall’s life once again… just not the way she expected.

Punk Rock Cowgirl starts off the Blackberry Cove Cowboys series with an emotional, sizzling second chance romance. I like the world that’s being built in this series, and I’m certainly planning on continuing this series. Kendall and Damian are the type of couple that one minute you want to hug ’em and the next smack ’em upside the head. Frustrating is a good word for these two. Damian has good reason to be angry at his runaway wife and he thought that anger would fuel him for a long time. But with Kendall back home those old feelings aren’t going away and crazy as it might seem he’s hoping that they can finally make their marriage work. Kendall’s reasons for leaving didn’t seem all that good to me… but miscommunications will do that to a couple. I liked this couple, their chemistry is apparent from the start – they just have to work through accepting that the love never really went away. I enjoyed my time in this world and would recommend Punk Rock Cowgirl to any Contemporary Romance reader. I’m hoping that we’ll continue to get glimpses of Kendall and Damian as the series moves along, I’d like to see how they’re fairing now.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I loved this book. I received it free from Netgallery in exchange for an honest review. This is the very angst filled love story between Damian Slone and Kendall Kelly. We learn they are married and she walked out on him 4 years earlier after unpleasant confrontations with his dad and her grandma. She became a country star in LA and only returned for her grandma’s funeral. He remained and took over her granddma’s farm, adding additional income sources. The will left the farm to the, jointly, causing additional decisions to be made.

I enjoyed the interactions between the couple as well as with her best friend and his mother. I wasn’t sure how things would end but I did love the ending. It I’d definitely a 5 star plus novel.

This was an interesting story. Kendall ran away from her husband Damian four years earlier. She didn't feel like she had a choice, and she believed the entire town hated her. She thought she was doing Damian a favor. Damian and Kendall end up reunited when her grandmother dies, and leaves her farm to both of them.
The characters in this story were great. There was definitely tension and drama with Kendall coming back to town, and some people certainly didn't hide their disgust with her and her choices. Kendall and Damian worked well together though. The feelings of betrayal, fear, mistrust, etc all came through very well in the writing. I felt bad for Kendall, even though she was the one who left. She certainly hadn't had an easy life, and I was happy with how things worked out in the story for everyone.

Punk Rock Cowgirl is Blackberry Cove Cowboys book #1.
It is the story of Kendall Kelly and Damian Sloan.
Kendall is a punk rock country queen. When her career ends in humiliation, she has nowhere else to go except back to her hometown. In Blackberry Cove, she tries to pick up the pieces of her life. Hard for her to do when she had left her husband behind and he is the only man she has ever loved.
Damian is part owner of Kelly Family Farms. He has spent the past few years transforming his business into an organic farm. He is not prepared for his broken heart to resurface when Kendal comes back into his life. She is as beautiful as ever, but she is broken. He realizes he has not forgotten or forgiven her like he thought. She is a threat to him and the life he has built, but love won't let him turn her away.
Can they rebuild what was left behind when she went away?
I enjoyed their story. I like how they set aside their differences to make the farm a success. I like their chemistry.

A great start to a new series of Blackberry Cove Cowboys. This book pulled me from the first page and finished in one day. A great story line of second chance romance between Kendall and Damian. A marriage that Kendall left years ago to make it big in the music industry now has returned to Blackberry Cove after her grandma passes away. Now she has a re-connection with the love of her life, her husband. Some tough decisions need to be made and secrets come out.

Great sexual chemistry between Damian and Kendall, steamy!! Loved the characters, well developed and pulled me right in. This is the first book of this author for me and enjoyed her writing. I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this punk rock cowgirl book ! Loved the whole 4 years MIA in music business & comes back home due to unexpected circumstances & is forced to face the music ( no pun intended) ! Her hubby awaits her homecoming & due to multiple grievances & so the story goes! The chemistry is undeniable & it’s immediately clear these two aren’t finished but it sure is a heck of a journey unraveling the circumstances as to why she left originally & how the can even possibly reconcile! What a fun, feel good & sexy little read from my newer auto must buy author!

This book was an excellent way to kick off the new Blackberry Cove Cowboys series. It's wonderfully written with characters that will touch your heart. Kasey Lane is a new to me author but after reading this book I'll be looking for more from her.

Kendall Kelly returns to Blackberry Cove after the death of her grandmother. Never did you expect to have to deal with Damian Sloan on this trip but after the reading of the will it's obvious she not only has to deal with him but she will also need to convince him to sell the farm to help her out of her troubles. Sure she might technically be married to the man but surely he's forgiven her for leaving by now. Or maybe not.....

This was an excellent read and one I think you'll enjoy. I definitely recommend it.

Punk Rock Cowgirl by Kasey Lane
Didn't think I was going to like this because I myself are not into punk rock but I did enjoy it, woohoo another new author for me to read.
Starts out with Kendall and she's returned to her grandmother's town where she was raised. She is now gone and she's there for the funeral and her husband, Damian shows up to comfort her.
She gets a rude awakening as the will is read. She had no idea. She assumed she'd walk back into town, get someone to sell her grandmothers house and she'd be on her way back to the city and performing her rock hits.
This is anything far from that. What I really liked was not only the compassion from her husband but hearing of how she was brought up by her grandmother and all the memories living on the farm.
Like the ideas Damian has for that and how he takes care of her also. Lots of hidden secrets that come out over time. What rotten luck to have been pushed away to begin with-you wonder if they can truly get back together or they will get divorced. Did not like swearing, just seemed to not fit.
Liked the locale and love the ending-wraps it all up!
Can't wait to read more from this author.

I enjoyed reading Punk Rock Cowgirl by Kasey Lane, book one in her Blackberry Cove Cowboys series. Kendall Kelly returns home to Blackberry Cove to bury her grandmother, a mean-spirited woman who was forced to raise Kendall but not love her. This occurs at the same time Kendall’s career as a singer implodes with the thief of all her money by her manager and her record label dropping her while requesting their money advance for her next album be returned. Blackberry Cove is also where she abandoned her secret husband years ago without so much as a note. She’s hoping to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and finally cut the last tie to the only man she ever loved.

As part owner of Kelly Family Farms, Damian Sloan has spent the last few years rebuilding the floundering business into a growing organic farm. He thought he'd moved on from his broken heart after she left him. However, when Kendall reappears in his life, he realizes he hasn’t forgotten or forgiven her. Though Kendall threatens everything he’s built, he can’t quite turn her away.

These two need to come to an understanding and re-discover each other. Damian and Kendall need to put aside their differences and the past in order for the farm they both love and depend on to succeed. Maybe they can rebuild what they tragically lost, but first they both need to let the other know their true feelings and Kendall has to admit the truth about what happened that night, long ago.
I enjoyed reading this book and didn’t want to put this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Lane wrote a wonderful story, drawing me in, making me forget the world around me. I definitely recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.

This is a new to me author and the story created is sweet.

Kendall has come back home after the death of her last family member to be at the funeral, but it is not a place she wants to stay.

Damian is a man who has been hurt and betrayed by those he loves. Kendall coming back is a good and a bad thing.

A series of events gets both sides taking again and admitting to having never loved another since. The story will wrap you up and give you a feel good feeling and can be read as a stand alone.

Kendall and Damian have a complicated history. Kendall returns to Blackberry Cove after her successful singing career runs into some issues. Damian has remained in Blackberry Cove building an organic farming business and trying to forget Kendall’s betrayal. When Kendall’s grandmother dies & leaves both of them the farming property they are forced to work together. Can they forget their past and figure out a way to trust each other? This was an enjoyable story by a new to me author!

This book checked all the boxes. It was a great read!

Oh my Goodness what is not to love about up this book? Author Kasey Lane checks all the boxes and then some with Punk Rock Cowgirl. Damian is that smoldering alpha cowboy we all love. His escaped wife Kendall is not just a songbird but yes a mixed up trying to do the right thing. Oh this book like I said before Checks ALL the boxes. I am looking forward to more books based in BlackBerry Cove. I bet the the goat farm that this little town could grown into the next Cherry Lake. Bet yall thought I was going to say Marietta didn't ya. LoL. Grab this one!

Kendall Kelly, also known as the punk rock cowgirl, was burned out. She was tired of touring and always being told what to do. Plus her manager embezzled the advance her record label gave her and now they wanted their money back. She was back in Blackberry Cove, the town she grew up in and couldn't wait to leave, for her grandmother's funeral.

Kendall planned to stay for the funeral and will reading and be gone as quick as she got there. But there are a couple glitches in her plan. She still married to Damian Sloane, even though she walked away from him four years to start her music career. Kendall's grandmother left Kelly Farms to both of them. Now, Damian wants Kendall to stay and pick up where they left off and Kendall is starting to enjoy being with him and life on the farm. But when Kendall gets a call from her record label and they want to meet with her in Los Angeles, Damian doesn’t take it too well. Will leaving Damian this time be their final goodbye?

I always enjoy a good second chance story and this one grabbed me from the start. I liked the characters and enjoyed seeing how their story played out. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

Kasey Lane is a new author for me to read. However, because Punk Rock Cowgirl is published by Tule Publishing I wanted to give it a try. It is a great book to begin the Blackberry Cove Cowboys series, so I am glad that I did. I am not a big fan of celebrity type of stories, but this is not that kind of story nor is it an on the road story.

This second chance romance really had some tender and serious moments in it. It had me thinking Reese Witherspoon as Kendall Kelly, perhaps because of Down Home Alabama. Don’t let that comment make you think that this is a copy of that instead it has its own unique story-line. The story flows and the characters are engaging though flawed especially Kendall more than Damian. Second chance, forgiveness and renewed dreams are all part of their story.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What I anticipated in this book paled in comparison to the writing, the story and the well developed characters. I felt swept into the longing of the characters for each other hampered by their distrust, insecurities and fears. Damian and McKenna belong together; they are soul mates separated by vindictive and intrusive relatives who deem McKenna unworthy for Damian, even though she is his wife and perfect for him. McKenna fled Damian and the town four years prior and is only returning for her unloving grandmother’s memorial and will reading. In the course of seeing Damian again, she knows it is time to confess why she left, not knowing if there is still love awaiting her. McKenna’s life itself is a mess and it is Damian that might be the one to pull things back together and upright their relationship.

This is one of those books where you can see the future promise of the author but the writing is just not quite there yet. I really wanted to be swept away in this story but I just could not turn off my brain off. The reasons for their separation were completely unbelievable. Not even a young, naive girl would have run off based on such flimsy events. So much of the conflict was overwrought and unnecessary. The scene at the bar with the angry woman interested in Damian made me more sympathetic to her feelings than the couples'. I could go on as there are a lot of things that made me nit picky about this book but I am still really interested in seeing where Kasey Lane goes in the future

When her reign as a popular punk country crossover artist comes crashing down leaving her desperate and needing money quick, Kendall Kelly knows there’s only one place she can go and that’s her hometown. However, she’s not likely to get a warm welcome there, especially from her soon-to-be ex-husband Damian Sloane after what she did to him. But when they both inherit her grandmother’s farm, will Damian and Kendall be able to work things out or will they lose their second shot at forever after? Read More
