I got out of this place. I made something of myself. I did it.
I’m Bo Hart and I had the world at my fingertips. Bull riding was my ‘in’ to freedom from this small town.
In under a minute, all of it was ripped away.
Gone in the blink of an eye.
Now I’m back in town, and I’m not that happy about it. I’ve got too much time and not enough thrills.
Kinlee was my first love. She’s the girl I pined for since we were little. When I left, I never planned on coming back. Now that I am, I hadn’t expected to find Kinlee still single, sexy as ever. I especially hadn‘t planned on finding her playing mom to her teenage siblings because of their parents’ sudden death. Now that I’m back, she needs to notice the new me. The grown-up me. She notices all right, but she also notices I’m still an adrenaline junky.
I still need that surge pumping through my veins.
She still likes to play it safe and have her days planned out. I don’t mind her ways, but she certainly can’t get used to mine. Doesn’t mean I’m going to stop though.
It took minutes to rip my career from the spotlight.
It only takes seconds to decide whose life is worth more, and the outcome of that split-second decision will change everything.

Read the cowboy books they said. It'll be a good time they said.

Yeah fucking right.

Listen, I'm all for a sexy cowboy. I'm all for a sexy cowboy in his sexy hat with his sexy muscles and his bad ass attitude. I like 'em like that. I like my alpha males all alpha-y and take charge.

And that is sooooo Bo.

Last we saw Bo he was leaving for the PBR. This is five years after that. He's back and he's sexier than ever.

You're gonna want to prepare yourself. He swoops in, takes charge, and does everything he can to prove he wants this life.

But why is he back? Well, that's something you'll just have to find out on your own. Who is his love interest? You were given all the clues in Addict, but if you don't know I won't be tellin' ya. And why is Bo even more perfect than Brandt? Just read to the end. That'll tell you everything you need to know about the kind of man Bo really is.

And if you aren't satisfied with these two cowboys, Piper Frost has one more sexy man to throw at us. Bring it, ladies. I've got all day.

I am a mess. An emotional, snotty, tear stained mess.

Surge is a rollercoaster of emotions. From joy, glee, and love to despair, loss, and devastation...you will feel them all.

I've been told I'm sensitive but dang. Piper Frost found the right buttons to push and then they pushed them until I broke. I broke and it wasn't pretty. But I am nothing compared to what occurs between the characters, their journey is harsh. Harsh and yet spectacular.

I will be honest. I loved Bo in Addict but the very beginning of this book...not so much. Clearly I got over my distaste and fell hard. Hard and fast, actually. We all know how easy that is! What isn't easy...The hard part is staying strong. The trials that these characters go through are...(not going to spoil it).

I'm not even sure how to tell you that tissues, chocolate, and wine won't cover it. Good friends and love are a blessing but sometimes they aren't enough.

Piper Frost have made Kenshaw Ranch a home away from home. They gave us some amazing friends and some beautiful experiences in Addict. But you need to hold on tight because Bo is a whole different animal...It's about to get really bumpy on this ride.

Kick off your boots and stay awhile. Piper Frost is going to take you for one hell of a ride. Be prepared to be swept off your feet by this sexy cowboy one minute and the next minute you want to shake the stupid out of him. Gone is the goofy, awkward boy and in his place is strong, confident, sexy, adrenaline seeker Bo Hart.
Kinlee I loved her. I did miss the bubbly, fun, outgoing girl we met in book 1 of the Kenshaw Ranch though. But life happened and she had to grow up fast.
These two will definitely do damage to your heart. Surge has so many heart stopping twist and turns. I was on pins and needles. Not to mention that ending. OMG! not at all what I was expecting. I will say I was a little thrown off by that ending and was desperately wanting more.

Surge (Kenshaw Ranch, #2) is a definite must read.

Truly an amazing second chance cowboy romance that pulled my heart in so many directions I am not even sure which way is up right now. The stubbornness of Kinley and Bo creates for so much angst and frustration I wanted to yell at them so many times. But man, when they were on the same page the everything was right with the world. Their story really was so full and I am not sure anyone can truly anticipate where the story line is going but with nothing more than a vague idea this is where it will head. I loved the strength in each of these characters and need so much more of their story as well as the twins. Piper Frost did an amazing job writing this story with the perfect amount of depth and feelings towards and about each of these characters

Will they be able to overcome their stubbornness and find each other at the end????

I was so looking forward to Bo’s story and it did not disappoint. This is such an emotion filled journey with his couple, Bo and Kinlee.
Years have passed since Bo left town to pursue his professional bull-riding career. A career-ending back injury has brought him back to his hometown to live in his late grandfather’s home and set his pursuits on other things... a relationship with Kinlee, the girl he’s always been in love with. She has had a word of responsibility while he’s been gone, burning the candle at both ends, barely making ends meet. She’s had a rough time and the stress of Bo’s risk taking nature almost puts her over the edge, wondering if a relationship with him is too much. To what lengths will they both go to stay happy in their relationship but also not sacrificing too much in their own lives? At what point is enough enough? They eventually face a devastating event that could be the end of them. Who will fight for their love and who will be pushed away?
This story is a true testament of fighting for what you love and holding steadfast. You won’t be disappointed with this ending! Holy shock!!!

I really liked this book as a followup in the Kenshaw Ranch series with one caveat.... the ending. This has spoilers so if you're not prepared to read them because you haven't finished the book... don't continue. The story ends with Kinlee being a month pregnant because she had a one night stand in Vegas. So you had an UNPROTECTED one night stand in Vegas with some random guy, what would you do? First thing any logical human woman would do is go directly to the drugstore and buy the day after pill. Second thing any logical human woman would do is make an immediate appointment with your OBGYN to get STD tested. No WAY would a pregnancy come out of that. I mean VEGAS! This ending pissed me off so hard. Then Bo's response being, something like, no that baby is MINE! Ugh. Besides this truly and utterly aggravating ending, I actually liked the book and look forward to reading the third. Hopefully the ending won't piss me off as much.

Cowboy up!
Bo will wrangle your heart...just like he wrangled Kinlee's.
Talk about a nail bitter...this one will have you on the edge of your seat for sure. Bo and Kinlee were friends who lost touch when Bo moved away. Now he is back and this second chance at romance will have you cheering for these two to make it. It's a bit touch and go at some points so you will just have to read to find out what happens. There is a HUGH twist at the end that will have your jaw on the floor and have you thinking Piper Frost are NUTS.
Also the sexy times up in this book are amazing and all you would ever hope from a Piper Frost book. So if y'all want a great cowboy read with dirty sexy times this is your book.

"Her laughs always made my stomach tumble. And her voice has been my favorite southern twang since I met her."

Bo and Kinslee drove me absolutely nuts, and I'm not afraid to say that I screamed at them the entire time. Goofy, adorable Bo came into his own in this one, but boy he made me mad!! Fortunately, he was written so stinking hot, I may have forgiven him faster than even Kinslee did, lol. These two have been dancing around each other since they were kids, and you just want them to make it so bad. Not telling if they did, but the ending left me like a punch in the gut with needing to know what happened next, so I hope we see them again in the next book.

"There is a flame there that was lit the first time he kissed me and I can't figure out what to do with it. I want him, that's not a lie. But do I have time for him?"

I wanted to slap both characters multiple times, and their story spans almost literally a lifetime it seemed, both getting tripped up by some serious baggage and character flaws. Angsty, made my heart plunge to my feet at times, I couldn't believe what I was reading. It was most interesting to see two people who seemed to love each other so much, seem so wrong for each other in their own heads...

My only complaint was making us work for their relationship throughout the entire book, yet the ending left it feeling rushed and not quite wrapped up. But all in all, they are a couple I will remember and think of for a long time to come!

"I never knew I could love someone like this. I never knew I could love someone that gives me so much anxiety there's times it's crippling. I never knew how crazy love is...until I met Bo."

This is the second book in Kenshaw Ranch series. This second chance romance follows sweet ditzy and smart turned responsible and hard working Kinlee, due to tragic circumstances she's raising her twin teenage siblings. Bo is the big dopey good ole' boy turned hard body retired pro bull rider without a purpose.

I absolutely love how this couple first gets together. It's fumbling and awkward and over far too quick to be satisfying for anyone as often happens to normal teens. Five years later Bo comes back home and finds a very different girl but they're still drawn to each other. Needing different things from a relationship creates fundamental problems for this couple. Kinlee craves normal and safe for herself and her siblings, where Bo is a thrill speaking adrenaline junkie with something to prove to himself and everyone else since his back injury ended his bull riding career.

There are outside influences pulling at them and creating problems as well as her younger brother constantly putting them in danger. An accident threatens to destroy everything and Bo is a blockhead. This is super angsty part that makes me sad and mad and want to throw my kindle across the room. PF pulls it out in the end with a happy ending? These writers slay me in the best way. I'm already looking for Chase's book.

Surge picks up where Addict left off, focusing on Bo and Kinlee. Oh, these two drove me crazy!! Bo has crushed on Kinlee since he was 12 years old, but lacked so much self-confidence that he NEVER tells her. He is destined for bigger and better things than his sleepy little Texas town can provide. He is headed for the PBR circuit. So, on the night before he leaves, he divests himself of his virginity with Kinlee, and still DOESN'T tell her that he is in love with her. And damn it, he leaves!!
One horrible accident with a mean bull changes everything for Bo. He is back in town, working on the Kenshaw Ranch with Brandt, his best friend, now married to Jo. Kinlee has weathered some really rough times and is raising her twin siblings on her own. For Bo, the intense attraction is still there, but he has to fan it into life for Kinlee, since she still doesn't know the true extent of his feelings.
But there are lots of twists and turns to Bo and Kinlee's story: lack of time, lack of confidence, miscommunication, and Bo's insane need for adrenaline. Yet another devastating accident occurs and Bo behaves like an ass, risking more than his life. See?? He simply drove me crazy!! But, you gotta love a cowboy! Fall in love with Bo and Kinlee in Surge. Yee-haw!!

I fell in love with Bo and Kinslee in Addict so I was super pumped to find that their story was going to be next. It certainly didn't disappoint!

Bo has been in love with Kinslee for as long as he can remember, but she barely even gave him a second glance. They'd been friends for so long, and his lack of confidence kept him from admitting his feelings for her. Cut to now, several years after he moved away and became a hot shot rodeo king, and Bo has returned home. He has Kinslee in his sights.
Since he's been gone, things have taken a different path for Kinslee. Working two jobs to make ends meet, she's not one for taking a handout. Always the one looking after others, and never sparing a thought for herself. Of course, that all changes when Bo comes back and let me tell you, the guy can be persistent!

They're both stubborn as hell and argumentative, but man it makes for some hot make up sex! And then just when you think they've got their shit together, another spanner hits the wheel and they're back to square one.
You'll be wanting to strangle a few characters throughout, but you'll also find yourself giggling and having "aww" moments.

All in all, another fab read from the Piper Frost team!

Book Review: Surge
Author: Piper Frost
FIVE STARS
The Combined writing of M. Piper and H.Q. Frost have brought to life the Kenshaw Ranch Series. Surge is the second book in the series and the first one was Addict. This will be a three book series but all of the books can be read as stand alones. The characters do intermix but you will not miss a thing in any of them if you read them out of order or just one.
Bo is an adrenaline junky and has spent the last five years on the Professional Bull Riding circuit and was on top of the world until he chose a bull no man has been able to ride.
Kinlee plays it safe and after so much loss in her life she isn't up for losing anyone else. She has had her hands full with raising her teenage twin siblings and trying to maintain a household and 2 jobs.
Now that Bo is back in town he wants his chance with Kinlee. But will he throw it all away again when things seem bleak for him?
This is a heart wrenching story. I admit I cried during parts of it and was so sad. Have some kleenex close by as you will not know what to do like I didn't know.

Oh. My. God! How can it just end like that!? I am emotionally drained right now, I’ve laughed, gotten angry, hated the damn idiot and sobbed like a baby. Bo is seriously h o t 🔥 and a complete dick all at the same time. And did I mention he’s hot?

Young, awkward, goofy Bo Hart left town to become a bull rider. 5 years later after a career ending accident, breaking his back and almost dying, he walks back in to town super hot, wealthy and back into the lives of his best friends Brandt, Jo and Kinlee.

A lot has changed since he left left town, but one thing he knows the minute he lays eyes on her is his love for Kinlee Jones hasn’t.

After reacquainting and taking things slow, Kinlee eventually moving in with him, and a tragic turn of events Bo is once again left fighting for his life and suffers another life changing injury. Turning into a stubborn, empty, self confessed arse hole pushing away everyone who loved him. Finally getting his fight back, and overcoming his Injuries, Bo is left having to grovel to try and win them back.

But oh my god that ending! I am seriously hoping this isn’t the last we hear of Kinlee and Bo, my heart can’t cope!

Rugged and Rowdy...Oh, Bo can lasso me anytime!

This is the second book in this series and it did not disappoint. Bo was the quirky cowboy in the group. But he made a decision to follow his dreams and left his small town life behind. Five years later and the harsh realities of life have brought Bo back home. He's unsettled but when he sees his first love, now a grown woman, his direction and future may have been changed.

When Kinlee reconnects with Bo she allows herself to wonder maybe, what if. But life has set Kinlee on a course she can't change. But Bo steps in, no longer the quirky boy but all man, one ready to take charge. But again, life happens...heaven and he**, sweet and harsh and unrelenting.

We watch as this couple navigates every possible obstacle imaginable. Limits are tested and ruptured.

Twists and turns and an ending I never imagined, anticipated and honestly had trouble comprehending until I remembered... Bo.

I can't explain just how superior of a story this is.

After finishing this book, I’ve sat here for an hour to try and process what I’ve read and what I want to say, but it’s not easy. This book gave me so many emotions that that are all just being to come out. I laughed at how Bo was Bo. Right from the start the Authors had me laughing, to the middle I had tears and by the end; I was smiling, with tears of happiness because while the road was hard for these characters, they got that ending the deserved.

True love doesn’t give up and the authors showed that with Bo and Kinlee. They are really belonged together. They are that couple that you can look at them, or read them, and just know. I could ramble forever about this book and how it made me feel, but if you loved them in the first book Addict, then you will love them even more now. You don’t have to read the first book on the series, but you’ll have to. So if you are on the fence about reading it, do it! Don’t ever think and just jump on and grab the bull by the horn and enjoy this book. It’s a wild ride, but those are the most fun. 5 Stars #2OCCJD

Woah... hold on to your seat belt, you are in for a wild ride with this one! This was a kind of second chance romance with some twists and turns thrown in. Bo was in love with Kinlee since the 6th grade. She also loved him but neither one told the other, and after a night where they shared a quick special something, he left. They both grew up and then he came back and was determined to get the girl he left behind. This story about their courtship and love was full of ups and downs, and then the end! Why is no one talking about the end being sort of a punch in the gut cliffhanger type of ending. I guess it was not a cliffhanger, but a HUGE loop that these gals through you for at the end of the book. I wanted more! I wanted to see what happened next! But, I have to assume that even though the next book is about Chase, they will help to close this chapter as well. If you have not started this series, read the first book and get ready for book 2! You won’t be disappointed! I received an ARC for an honest review.

Wow! This book has all the feels! Bo and Kinlee are meant to be, but they go through one hell of a ride to get to their happily ever after.

Bo has been in love with Kinlee since the sixth grade. He left home to be a pro bull rider, but is back 5 years later after his back was broken and put his career to an end. As soon as he sees Kinlee again, he knows he's still in love with her. She's had a hard life since Bo's been gone. Her parents were killed in an accident and Kinlee was left to take care of her 16 year old twin siblings, Will and Wendy. She's working two jobs and doesn't have time in her life for a man. As soon as she sees Bo again, her old feelings for him are brought back. He's not the awkward boy he was 5 years ago. Now he's a sexy cowboy all grown up.

Bo and Kinlee take you on a wild ride as they navigate their way in love. Some crazy twists that leave you breathless and one hell of a surprise you don't see coming at the end. You will laugh, cry and scream throughout this story, but it's all worth it. Can't wait to see what happens next!

This series from Piper Frost has officially turned me into a cowboy lover! It is just that awesome!

Surge is Bo's story... He's back in town after many successful years away on the PBR circuit. An abrupt end to his career has left him at a loss...the thrill is gone, so now he needs his adrenaline rush from another source. Kinlee, the girl he's pined for since he was a tween, is in his sights now. Nothing is going to stop him from going after her.

Kinlee's life didn't turn out how she planned, and she's not sure she's ready for Bo. Old friend or not, has he grown up enough to be the friend, the man, she needs now? The emotion and heat their story stirred up was intense. My heart ached for Kinlee, and I wanted her to find her happily ever after. And Bo, well he's a bit arrogant and unthinking at times, but the awkward teenage boy seems never far from the surface.

Love, love, love this book! Such great storytelling, engaging characters, and an ending that left me craving the next book!

Kenshaw Ranch crew are back in this dramatic story.

Bo left five years ago to pursue his career as a bull rider. He said he would never return. But a career ending injury has him back at the Kenshaw Ranch. And he remembers the spitfire of a woman he left behind that he has lived all of his life.

Kinlee has been struggling the last few years. After a terrible accident killed her parents she became the soul caretaker of her teen twin siblings. And things were getting out if hand. She has to deal with her brother who is making terrible choices.

When Bo steps back into her life he steps up to her siblings and starts to help care for them and point them toward a better path.

But accidents happen and the road to recovery is not easy.

Can hope and love make it through the tragedies these two face?

I loved this book. It shows the true struggles between to people who deal with real life. And families who have to stick together.

I am feeling so many different things as I write this review; I love everything about Bo but really hated his behavior, I love how strong Kinley is but hate the new development at the end but then love how Bo stepped up! I really wish that this hurdle was not one they have to get over... does that make me a bad person? I don’t know, but I was really hoping they would finally get some drama free time, and at the same time i feel like this was Bo’s redemption. Ugh my point is this book had so many different feels that I have waited a day to write this review and I still feel like I’m not doing it justice. Whether or not you like cowboy books, this is one that you definitely need to read. Just be prepared for the emotional roller coaster and know that these authors WILL do right by you in the end!

A bull-riding cowboy that loves thrills, almost as much as he loves the girl he left behind. A hometown girl that has major responsibilities, including raising her twin teenage brother and sister.

This is the essence of Surge by Piper and Frost. Bo is so sweet, but it feels like he has a death wish sometimes. Kinlee is sweet, but has a hard time doing things for herself. She deserves a life and love, and Bo is willing to give it to her. Bo hates that he had to give up what he loved and come back home – but is glad that he has a chance to show Kinlee how much he loves her and wants to take care of her and her family.

This story has so many layers to it, which makes it so enjoyable, and at times, heartbreaking. So many twists and turns. I totally love this story, and you will too!

I am a blubbering, puffed-eye, hot mess after reading this book. I feel I was in the most heart-felt roller coaster and my heart can't beat without hurting any more. I can't even start to comprehend how is it the a book that started as one of the happiest and lovable stories turn out to be one of the most absorbing and absolutely difficult stories I have read. And the difficulties were there till the very end.
Bo and Kinlee are such powerful and over the top characters I have read and once I got to the end of their story, I just couldn't stop myself from asking What in God's name has happened?! I am still reeling from this story and I don't think I'll be able to read the next one in the series for the next few days. I feel too raw and completely exhausted in the most amazing of ways. This story is definitely a massive book hangover worth of every minute I have spent reading it.

Surge is the second book in the Kenshaw Ranch series and if you are after a book about fighting for love and life then this is the book for you. Kinlee and Bo had a connection as kids and when Bo returns to their country town five years later, things have changed in both their lives but that connection is the one thing that hasn’t. However Bo is an adrenaline junkie and Kinlee is fearful of losing him. When Bo has to make a choice which just might cost him his life, will this be the straw that broke the camels back in their relationship. Their story is packed full of stolen moments, conflict, family and realizing that you have to fight for true love. A hot and steamy romance that will keep you glued to the pages. My only negative comment which is purely selfish is I wanted an epilogue as I needed more of these two.

Bo, swoooooon.

Bo always doing dumb things and risking it all. This cowboy though. One thing is for sure, he loves hard. Kinlee didn't stand a chance with this bull rider. Rough around the edges and as tender as he can be.
Kinlee always putting her self last finally can start putting her self first.

"A girl from a small as hell farm town with nothing going for her. A man with way too much money and energy than he knows what to do with." This sums up all of this book!!

"True love doesn't end."

I have said it once and I will say it again, these ladies will pull your heart strings. Bo is by far the book you will remember. My heart needs more of their story!! READ it and thank me later when you are crying!!

HOLY CRAP!!! This book gave me “the feels” in every direction. Happy, excited, sad, mad, down right ticked off, then left me with a what the what?!?! I need to read more. I’m sure that Bo and Kinlee will make a few appearances in the next book as Brandt and Jo did in this one (because these ladies know how to tie it all together with a pretty bow) because I need to know how it’s going. If nothing else Piper Frost knows how to write a story that keeps you interested, totally engaged and routing for the main characters the whole time. I can not wait for more...this is totally a must read series💜💜💜

Another fabulous standalone in the Kenshaw Ranch series that will leave you with the most beautiful book hangover! I enjoyed the amount of details given that gives you just enough back story but still keeps it present. The push and pull between the two characters was amazing! Bo and Kinlee are two stubborn friends that have a bit of history. Looking to relight that fire now that he’s back, Bo is determined to be available for Kinlee to lean on no matter what she needs! They are both willing to do what it takes to keep each other happy and to find their places. Until one breaks and it all becomes too much or maybe just not enough. 1-click and be ready to experience all the feels!

Did you think that Brandt, Kenshaw Ranch’s first cowboy, got your blood moving?! We’ll hold on to your panties because you haven’t met Bo, sexy stubborn bull rider extraordinaire, yet!

This man made me scream, kick, and fight through the whole story! Think he’s stubborn?! Well wait until you meet Kinlee. The strength these two exude is amazing and they are only stronger together! These two love birds go through more than any one person should ever have to.

Do you like a rom com that pulls on your heart strings and gives you anxiety around every corner? Do you LOVE Piper Frost books?! Check out their story to see how it ends, you won’t be sorry!

Bo and Kinlee are such an enormous emotional roller coaster. Like I was angry and sad and happy all at the same time in some parts. I could definitely feel the emotion in this one with every word I read... I totally love that Brandt and Jo were such a big part of this too!! Now I am wheeling in the ending.. I totally did NOT see that coming... I don’t know whether to be angry with kinlee or to love Bo even more... Bravo ladies!! You just keep amazing me!!

Good GAWD!! This book where to start Bo and Kinlee friends since they were kids. Bo’s been in love with her since the 6th grade. Lost his virginity to her NOT hiss best moment, he was so excited he was kinda a 2 pump chump lol life being what it is he moves away and they lose touch. When circumstances bring him back, Kinlee sees a HOT AF cowboy on the Kenshaw ranch she say who’s that only to find out the scrawny Bo has grown up to become a muscular tall gorgeous man. And when he sees her, he knows he still after all the years loves her more than ever and has to do whatever it takes to get her.
