Rey’s interrogation at the hands of Kylo Ren triggered an awakening in the Force, as well as an unwelcome bond that links them across the galaxy and grows stronger every day. An accidental encounter alerts Supreme Leader Snoke to the existence of this bond and he orders his apprentice to capture the girl and bring her to him. Sometimes it's not the big speeches that redeem people, but the actions you inspire them towards.

Kylo’s hand is steady, fingers squeezing around hers, the connection alive and singing. “Where do you want to go?”

Rey turns away from the endless space in front of them and kisses him, soft and warm and finally, finally free .

“Anywhere.”

A widely acclaimed Star Wars fanfiction centered on the sequel trilogy, particularly focusing on Kylo Ren and Rey. The story excels due to the remarkable chemistry between the protagonists, with their interactions being the highlight of the narrative. I find myself longing for the essence of Star Wars as it once was, making it enjoyable to revisit fanfiction on Archive of Our Own. Numerous skilled female authors contribute to this fandom, and this work stands out as one of the finest.

This fanfiction follows The Force Awakens and the bond that Kylo and Rey share pre force-facetime. Now that I’ve read many other Reylos in the past two years, it is no longer my favorite, but it does go down as my “first” — it’s incredible how many different creative AUs are written following our balanced couple.

There are scenes in this book, which was written in 2015, that I believe appear in The Last Jedi. I think Rian Johnson did his research and wanted to appeal to Reylo fans with the creative control he had, given the expectations that surrounded The Last Jedi, and I believe that he certainly includes ideas that were original to this book.

Of course, since it’s not published “officially” (though it’s considered fair use under copyright because it is a “transformative work” - Archive of Our Own has it’s own legal policy). Disney takes all the credit.

True fans will know which scenes in The Last Jedi were original to this book, and will praise and appreciate the creative fandom storytelling written by LovelyThings and ricca_riot. Two seemingly normal human beings from the Milky Way Galaxy who wanted to change Kylo and Rey’s destiny forever. I do not know anything about the authors, besides the fact that they were just fans who left the theatre after The Force Awakens and started writing the future of our beloved force-balancing couple. This book does not disappoint. Warning: graphic depictions of violence and explicit content.

This is by no means smutty fanfiction...it's incredible writing filled with dynamic character development, amazing battle scenes and will steal the heart of any Star Wars fan (...but also the steam that exists is STEAMY).

I'm not crying, you're crying

This was everything I could have hoped for in a Reylo/Star Wars fanfic (sidenote: it's also the first one I've read. I needed some closure after being disappointed by aspects of the movies). I won't lie, this is the best thing I've read in at least a year.
