Burning Princess

Rate this book
Joe Stacey, Austin, Texas based private detective, receives a letter from a high school classmate, Ronnie Jessup telling him that Laurie Brasswell has been murdered in Bahia Blanca, the oil camp in Venezuela where they had all lived when they were teenagers. Ronnie wants him to come to Bahia Blanca and get the goods on Frank Braswell, Laurie's husband, whom Ronnie is convinced killed her for insurance money. Stacey finds, though that in Bahia Blanca there are no easy answers any more than there are innocent people. He finds, instead, that the Burning Princess is surrounded by lies and deceit and a cloud far thicker than the flame that took her life.
