Harry Moorehouse is astonished to see Sammy back on this island after she disappeared without a word years ago. They both need the cottage to make up for their past mistakes… but only one of them can end up with it. Kay Correll is a USA Today bestselling author of sweet, heartwarming stories that are a cross between women’s fiction and contemporary romance. She is known for her charming small towns, quirky townsfolk, and the enduring strong friendships between the women in her books.
Kay splits her time between the Southwest coast of Florida and the Midwest of the U.S. and can often be found out and about with her camera, taking a myriad of photographs, often incorporating them into her book covers. When not lost in her writing or photography, she can be found spending time with her ever-supportive husband, knitting, or playing with her puppies - a cavalier who is too cute for his own good and a naughty but adorable Australian shepherd. Their five boys are all grown now and while she misses the rowdy boy-noise chaos, she is thoroughly enjoying her empty nest years.
Cottage near the Point: Lighthouse Point Book 4 is by Kay Correll. This book unites several people who had once lived on the island and had moved away. Now they would like a second chance. Samantha was working for her father and had a client in Sarasota; but chose to rent a beach house on Belle Island. They had spent summers with her grandparents here and she felt compelled to return since she was so close. She couldn’t tell her father why because it would remind him of that awful night when her mother went away. However, Samantha wouldn’t dwell on that, she would remember her joyful days with Harry Moorehouse who she found out owned the rental management company she rented through. At least she knew someone. As Samantha reunites with the island and her memories, she also works on the presentation for her possible new client. She doesn’t know exactly what the client wants, nor does the client which makes it even harder. As she renews her acquaintance with Harry, he introduces her to Delbert Hamilton of Hamilton Hotels. He is wanting a new advertising campaign for their new and refurbished hotels in Florida. The hotels have a different vibe than do the other hotels in their chain so, Delbert wants them to have the best advertising they can since they are somewhat different. Many of the characters we are familiar with in her other books visit in this one and we meet new characters, like Camille Montgomery and her mother, Harry, and the mysterious Rose.
This is the fourth book in Kay Correll’s “Lighthouse Point” series, of which each book just seems to get better as the story of 3 best friends and a wonderful bunch of friends and relatives continues… Although the books are written as standalone, the story does build with each new installment… the main characters have become like old friends and I wonder at the beginning of each book just how their lives have changed, and I look forward to meeting new people who join their community and their adventures… I’m off to Book #5! lol
Sammy and Harry are a sweet couple. A story of forgiving yourself and not blaming yourself for things that weren't your fault. I love coming back to the Lighthouse Point, seeing previous characters and catching up with them. Can these two move on from their pasts to a future together? I also liked the side story of Sammy's parents - well the ending. A story of hope, love, forgiveness and reconciliation. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
This was definitely not my favorite book in this series. First of all the love story was completely rushed -- she started sitting in his lap before they ever really had an adult relationship. That kind of irked me. I did like both characters and was happy they fell in love. But this just seemed lazy. Like -- lets do another book. Sorry. I really liked it up until now... I gave it 3 stars but I felt I was being generous
I liked the twists in the story and the surprises. Iam throughly enjoying this series . I have enjoyed every book I have read of Kay Correll’s. Keep them coming Kay! Thank you for writing in the beach setting, which I love. I grew up a few miles inland from Daytona Beach FL
I am reading the fifth book in this series sorry I didn't review all of them all the characters in each book are so special a lot of the same ones are in each book and new ones added. This Author writes wonderful stories. Everyone will love reading each book I know I have loved each one.
I couldn't put it down! A love story of hope for all of past lives can happen again. Ask Sammy and Harry. 20 years love found them again and misunderstanding the truth be known.
This is another beautiful read in the series. When you are friends with someone who you knew as a child, and you.meet later you can call in love. It happened to me too.
Warm and cozy love stories. No spoilers, however more than one couple finds love. I really enjoyed this story and the books I have read so far in the series. Can’t wait to finish the series to see how the other characters story ends.
Another enjoyable read from Kay Correll. These stories have been so great for me as I am recovering from spine surgery. I am unable to do most things so I find myself living on Belle Island with so many wonderful people.
Another super quick read by Kay Correll sharing stories of the fine people of Belle Island. Book #4 had a few more plot twists and introduced some new characters which kept the reader engaged more deeply. This book, along with Book#1 were my favorites so far.
Excellent story line .Mystery and love story twined together make a story you don't want to put down . Recommend to all who like reading romance and mystery
I always look forward to a trip to the island and Lighthouse Point. Correll hits the mark again as she developes a 20-year old relationship renewal between Sammy and Harry. Great read.
I really enjoyed this sweet love story. I was very happy it had a happy ending. Kay is very descriptive with her characters and it is easy to see them in my minds eye.
