I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
I have to start with a little fangirling - I love the kick-ass women in this series! This series has given me new hope for m/f romance and this second book is even better than the first.
This story starts with a fire. He rescues a family. She rescues him. They are both heroic. Proby firefighter Jo is tough, resilient and wonderfully complicated. As the captain of an NHL team, Alex is talented and famous but his responsibilities can be overwhelming. Jo and Alex are both confident, independent characters. Together, they make each other stronger. The chemistry between this pair is electric and I really loved their story.
Refreshingly free from tired Chick Lit tropes, a suspense story runs alongside the main romance. I love that it is Jo with the more dangerous job, Jo who is increasingly at risk from the arsonist and bombmaker. And I really love the way Alex appreciates her strength and skills.
As Alex is captain of the Ice Dragons, there is more focus on the whole team in this second book. I love the complex relationships between the players. RJ Scott’s experience writing m/m gives her a special ability to write men and relationships between men. So many potential stories for the series emerge as each one of the players becomes a distinct character. The hockey action is brilliant - I love underdog stories!
I love this series and I really love this second book. The characters are fantastic. The plot is tight and the suspense is exciting. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

This is the second book in the series, and even better than the first! But do read that one first as the team's story is ongoing, and we get to see plenty of the first couple too.
This is a story with a pretty dramatic plot, which ties together really well, and gives our two leads plenty of opportunity to shine. That they have a connection which is at the heart of the plot, as well as realising the power of the heart when it finds who it wants, give the book its title.
I love sports romances, so the hockey elements worked really well - and Alex's shouldering of the responsibility of leading the team in his role as captain, even when he is not playing, is inspiring and demonstrates the mettle of the man. We learn quite a lot more about a number of the team members and I am excited to see who gets their story next.
Jo is still struggling with the grief of losing her father and the disappointment of her mother about her choice of career as a fire fighter. As she gets to grips with her job, little did she expect to fall for a hockey player - after a fabulously funny scene, I might add - and through Alex she comes to terms with her past, and in his friendship recognises her future.
Their easy friendship coupled with enticing chemistry makes their connection feel genuine, and with definite potential to last the distance.

Firefighter meets professional hockey player – who wouldn’t love that!? I really enjoyed this fast-paced, original story!
Alex is the captain of the Ice Dragons hockey team and a man with a huge heart. Alex winds up saving a man and his baby from a burning car and then having to be saved himself by a group of fire fighters including Jo. Then it turns out Jo works with one of Alex’s teammates wives and the two run into one another igniting their attraction. Neither Jo nor Alex really wants a relationship but when things heat up between the two they can’t help themselves. Then you add bombs, twins who haven’t got their act together and a loud Russian who just wants to hit something and you’ve got an excellent read!
The plot is great and I love that this book has just the right amount of suspense, romance and drama! It makes for a read that you won’t want to end – literally… I just wanted to run right into the next guy’s (whom I’m hoping is Mr. Russia himself!) story! Can’t wait for book #3!

There are just so many things about hockey romances that I love that it’s hard to pin point why they are my absolute favourite type of book to read. I have to add that I truly do love pretty much any sports romance, but hockey will always be my favourite. I love the passion that is in hockey romances, the passion for the sport, the passion for playing it and that just rolls over into being the passion between the main characters. I also love getting to see the sport from all aspects, from behind the scenes in the locker room, on the ice, training off the ice and even seeing them in their every day life. So when I pick up a new hockey romance, these are the things I look for every time.
Alex Simard is the captain of the Ice Dragons and the season isn’t going well. It’s up to him to try to pull his players together and get them playing as a team. On top of being Captain, Alex can now add the title of hero after shaving a baby and his dad from a burning car and ended up needing a little rescuing himself. Thanks to Joanne, a probie firefighter.
I really loved both Jo and Alex’s characters. Jo is such strong female lead that is confident and can truly hold her own when it comes to the men in her life. Alex is a hot and sexy hockey hunk but he so much more as well. He’s strong and caring and oh so sweet. Putting these two together the chemistry was hot and I really enjoyed some of the banter and interaction between these two.
I loved the first book in this series and will say I did enjoy the storyline of this one, I just found it left me wanting more. I love the interaction between these two so much that it left me wanting more of it. The storyline mentions that about them talking and texting but I wished we got to see it. I think seeing more of the interaction would have helped me feel the connection that built between them a bit more. I also needed more from the characters themselves. They were great characters that you help but lovee but I wanted to see more passion from them. These were two people who were very passionate about what they did for a career. They loved what they did but I didn’t always feel that passion that they had for it.
Last, the thing I loved most about any sports romance is seeing the sports action and seeing it from both characters POV. I love when we see the emotion from the character watching the one they love play the sport they love and I love getting the emotion and passion from the character playing it. We did see some great game action happening at one point but it left wanting so much more.
Overall this one was an enjoyable story that was well written in third person POV. It had some great fun and flirty parts, some really great drama and suspense added in and some really hot and sexy going on as well. This was a great follow up to book one but can also be read as a standalone.

I discovered RJ Scott's M/M books about a year ago and loved them. At the time, I didn't know she also wrote M/F books as Rozenn Scott. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to read and review her Stanford Creek series when she relaunched the books under her RJ Scott pen-name and I loved them.
I read a lot and I've come to realize that a good romance writer can usually write good books no matter what the sex of the main characters and this is certainly true of RJ Scott. I don't think I've read a book by her that I haven't enjoyed. Yes, I've like some more than others, but overall I haven't read any that were less than 4 stars for me.
After I agreed to read and review The Heart I realized that I hadn't read book one in the series, The Code, so I started with that. (Note – each book stands alone, you won't feel lost if you start with The Heart.) Let me just say that The Code grabbed me in right from the very first paragraph and I couldn't put it down. The story trope is "falling in love with my best friend's little sister" and it was freaking fantastic.
Now for The Heart… The Code was so good that I was almost afraid to read The Heart. I just didn't see how RJ could write another story as powerful as the The Code. I should know by now to trust her writing; The Heart was every bit as good but the story line was dramatically different.
I won't rehash the blurb shown above – it's a good one. After first meeting under extraordinary circumstances Jo and Alex (aka Simba) meet again and agree to see each other. Jo isn't looking for a relationship so things move at a slow but steady pace. The sexual chemistry and tension between them is HOT!
Alex is a man that any woman would be lucky to have in her corner. He's strong, handsome and cares about his teammates – wanting to always do the right thing for everyone. Jo is driven to make a success of her career as a firefighter in spite of people who don't think it's appropriate for a woman.
This story had lots of heat (pun intended) as Alex and Jo's attraction for one another grows and someone keeps blowing up stuff. The mystery/suspense kept me guessing until all was revealed. I am very much looking forward to stories for other members of the Ice Dragons hockey team.
P.S. I should probably mention that I know next to nothing about hockey. The Code and The Heart both contain a fair amount of "jargon" that I didn't totally understand but that didn't in any way diminish my enjoyment of the books. If you are a hockey fan you should enjoy them at least as much as I did and if you aren't I think you will still like them very much.

This is the second book in the Ice Dragons series. I read every hockey book I can get my hands on as it is my favorite sport. I thoroughly enjoyed book one so I was really excited to read this one. It did not disappoint. I read it in one go and was sucked in from the get-go. I liked the people and they had heart. I will say in my opinion that it was slow to start, then it picked up momentum and I truly enjoyed it. This one has drama, and suspense as well as romance. The flow and writing were good as it has a little bit of everything in it.
This book opens with the team struggling a bit. They are on a losing streak. Captain Alex calls a closed door meeting, with his teammates to see how they can back on track. Alex is strong and very much a leader, so when he puts his captain position to a vote thinking he may be leading them astray this season. The team loves and respects him. When he leaves the arena he sees a car accident and he runs to the scene to help. He then rescues a child from the wreckage and can’t walk away, even though the car is engulfed in flames. He then goes back to rescue the father, who is trapped. Now he needs saving.
Jo is a rookie first responder (firefighter). She is new to the fire station and she is the one that pulled Alex away from the wreckage if the car. She is strong and confident and I liked her a lot.
The dynamic between Alex and Jo is there and there is tension but oh my gosh, is this book a slow burn. Now don’t get me wrong, I like how it was building up. Sometimes that is just better. This book as I stated is heavier on the suspense side with a kick of drama and romance while there is a bomber gunning for the hockey team that is a little close to home. I liked how the elements all meshed together to give this book a much different dynamic. You have hockey, the firefighters and the romance blooming between Jo and Alex.
I have to say I liked this book better than book one, and I really liked book one and was waiting for this one. It was a great read and I look forward to the next book in the series.

One thing I really like about this series so far is the characters-they are quite well written, and I love that here in The Heart that Jo is such a strong female lead. She's independent and driven, and a true team player...not to mention a tough woman in a field dominated by alpha males.
To complement her, Alex is an alpha male in his own field as captain of his professional hockey team, but he's also one of the good guys when it comes to women (after he sowed his wild oats many years ago). They do make a good match when you consider the two of them together, though for me I didn't quite feel a solid connection between them. Though they do develop a relationship through alternative ways of communication thanks to their conflicting schedules, they don't actually have a lot of in-person time together...at least not enough for me to feel like their emotional connection could progress as rapidly as it did.
We did get to see more of the team dynamics, and for me, I was intrigued by the interesting development between Gooly and the team's newest acquisition-it led to some great drama that has my interest well piqued for his story in the next book. Speaking of drama, there's plenty to be found with someone out there bombing things...
The Heart was, for me, more about the suspense and what's going on with the team then it was about Jo and Alex even if it was their story. There's still plenty to make this one for readers 18+ with adult language and sexual content; this story is also a good setup for whatever comes next in the series.

The Heart was the second book of the Dragons Ice Hockey series by RJ Scott.
Alexandre "Simba" Simard was the captain of the new expansion team, The Dragons. He was gorgeous and an incredibly skilled first line forward.
Josephine "Jo" Gievens was a rookie fire fighter. She was tall and beautiful and wanted to prove her value in everything she attempted.
The two met when Simba reacted instinctively at an accident and pulled a man and his young daughter safely out of a car. Jo was the first responder that assisted Simba. The storyline developed a little awkwardly at first but then focused on the budding friendship between the two.
I liked the beginning of the book. It had me from the start with the technical talk of the Hockey team talking through their issues and losses. It set the stage well as a back story and added depth and dimension to the plot. Additionally, Scott included another suspenseful backstory around Jo's job; which provided even greater depth and dimension to the storyline.
In the first part of the book I was on the fence about Simba and Jo. Simba seemed awkward. It didn't seem to fit his personality. However, once he and Jo actually started dating, his confident alpha came out, and I really liked him. By the end, I was totally in love with him and with them as a couple.
All in all, it was a fairly fast read, totally enjoyable and wonderfully entertaining. As a bonus, Scott set the stage well with teasers for Gooly's story next, The Legacy.

I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Alexandre (Simba) is the captain of his hockey team. He is trying to figure out how to pull his team together when they are having a hard season. Rookies, long held friends/teammates, rivals becoming team members. Let's just say that Simba has a lot going on and when he finally has a second to breathe, him and his teammate come across a horrific car accident.
Alexandre runs towards the car, saves the people inside and becomes an instant overnight hero. With the new fame, Alexandre is forced to hide from the press. He does that at a teammates house and there, he re-meets a firefighter who was at the scene with him. Jo is sweet and shy. However, she is very good friends with the wife of one of Alexandre's teammates, so they seem to run in to each other and their attraction is growing and undeniable.
Despite the pace of the story, I didn't really see the connection between the main characters. It was somewhat flat. I like the story about the players more - found it more intriguing. I wish that there had been better chemistry for the main characters and a more developed relationship.

This is the second book in the series. We have the Dragons captain getting his story. One thing that I liked about him is he's this alpha hockey player, but when it comes to flirting with Jo he's a little awkward and endearing. For some reason that made me like Alex more. This book had a good combination of heart, heat, humor, and suspense. Jo is a rookie firefighter that has a serial bomber on her hands as she finds her footing with Alex. The climactic part of the book had me on the edge of my seat. Well done by RJ Scott. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

"Lui non voleva che Jo rinunciasse ai suoi sogni, per quanto facesse fatica a immaginare la sua vita senza di lei se si fosse fatta male sul lavoro.
Anzi, se lo immaginava fin troppo bene: sarebbe stato perso perché ormai era sempre più convinto che lei fosse quella giusta. La mitica anima gemella connessa con il suo io più profondo. Quando erano insieme non la smettevano di parlare, se non per baciarsi."
Onestamente, la coppia Jo/Alex non mi ha coinvolta più di tanto, l'ho trovata abbastanza piatta e più tenera che passionale (credo tra i due che sia decisamente lei a non avermi colpito in realtà perché il povero Simba ce la mette tutta per spiccare come personaggio...tra i suoi mille impegni e responsabilità XD). Anche la famosa questione dell'attentatore viene fuori praticamente solo alla fine e viene risolta velocemente e senza grande clamore (sigh). Decisamente più interessante invece la "questione russa" e gli scheletri che escono fuori dai vari armadi, tanta carne al fuoco che purtroppo viene abbandonata così e spero venga sviscerata a dovere nei prossimi libri *ç*

Onestamente, la coppia Jo/Alex non mi ha coinvolta più di tanto, l'ho trovata abbastanza piatta e più tenera che passionale (credo tra i due che sia decisamente lei a non avermi colpito in realtà perché il povero Simba ce la mette tutta per spiccare come personaggio...tra i suoi mille impegni e responsabilità XD). Anche la famosa questione dell'attentatore viene fuori praticamente solo alla fine e viene risolta velocemente e senza grande clamore (sigh). To be fair, I basically knew coming into this one that I was going to love it. If you follow our blog, then you know I loved the first one and I was already completely sold on Simba as a character when I started this book. The more I read, the more I loved him, and it only took me about two seconds to fall in love with Jo, as well. I love how their love story doesn't start off in the typical way and I absolutely adore the fact that they have trials and difficulties along the way. It's easy to write a story where one or both of the central characters give up or change who they are so that they can become a unit, but both Jo and Alex maintain their characters throughout the story and if they do change, it's growth, not a sacrifice of their own being for the sake of being a couple. They're both strong characters and I am completely attached to them at this point. All I can say is that, as usual, RJ Scott left me wanting more! Between the hockey and the gorgeous guys and strong characters, I never wanted to be finished with this book. I'm pretty sure I could live in this fictional world forever and I can't wait for the next one. In fact, I'm pretty much begging for Scott to write one for every member of the team. And keep adding rookies so there are forever new players to write stories for!

Leggermente inferiore rispetto al primo, ma solo per ciò che riguarda la tensione narrativa per quanto riguarda il filone "mistery", ho apprezzato sul serio questo secondo capitolo della serie della Scott. Non solo ho avuto voglia per tutto il tempo di arruolarmi tra le fila dei vigili del fuoco, ma m'è presa una smania totale di diventare una grandissima fan di hockey. Se non è centrare questo l'obiettivo...
L'amore tra i due protagonisti sboccia in fretta, e forse è mancato un po' di romanticismo per quanto riguarda il corteggiamento. A dire il vero, tolti i momenti erotici davvero ben resi, si potrebbe dire che nell'insieme ogni aspetto del romanzo manca di una spinta decisiva, che infatti determina la mancanza della quinta stella. In ogni caso si tratta di una storia che scivola via molto bene, con buoni spunti, uno sport romance che fa il proprio lavoro e che denota una sicurezza della materia trattata non sempre usuale in testi simili.
Buonissima la resa della coesione di squadra, un po' meno quella che riguarda il contesto familiare. I sentimenti sono un po' troppo abbozzati.
Buonissima prova, comunque, che mi spingerà di sicuro a leggere il terzo. Chi sarà il prossimo della lista? Loki? Uno dei russi? Oppure uno dei due gemelli?

This is the second book in the Ice Dragon’s series about a hockey team and their road to romance.
Alex aka Simba is the captain of the team and the one with his head on straight, the one that has the team at the heart and strives for their winning glory. Unfortunately the team are currently going through a rough patch with a series of lost games which has caused a little friction he seeks to calm. On his way home from a game he comes across a burning car and rescues a father and child from the wreckage. Attending the fire is rookie firefighter, Jo Glievens and that night starts a sequence of events both mysterious but also of romance.
The storyline was heavy on the suspense element of the read which I felt at times overtook the romance side. As it was the development of Alex and Jo was a very slow burn and didn’t actually take off strongly until later in the book. However the plot was engaging and kept me reading hoping to find out what the mystery surrounding the bomb explosion and fires being set was all in aid of.
Overall a good addition to the series and I am hoping our sexy Russian is next in line. I already love him! 3.5 stars.

I’ve read quite a few of Scott’s books and somehow she surprises me every time. They don’t only have new characters but they each have their own feel as well. With The Heart we spend quite a bit of time learning about Alex and Jo individually as well as seeing themgure things out as a couple. And because of that it feels a bit more like a character piece than your typical romance.
Alex is doing a lot of juggling between his duties as coach (and friend). trying to figure out his new relationship with Jo, and the aftermath of the accident. Jo is also working out things with Alex, as well as being a probie firefighter and some family issues with her dad’s recent death.
It makes it all so real because that’s the way normal people deal with falling in love. Not only do you have the new person and all the feels that go with that, but you also have your normal everyday life and the responsibilities that go with it. Scott keeps it going together smoothly with interesting characters, engaging writing and just enough drama to keep you on your toes.

The Heart is the second book in the Ice Dragons Hockey series, and we reunite with Alex, aka Simba. Some time has passed since the end of The Code and the Dragons are on a losing streak. Alex calls for a meeting which goes on until early hours of the morning. On his way home, he and Ryan spot a car accident, and Alex is able to save both the baby and her father, although he is injured in the process. Jo is a firefighter on probation and the one who saves Alex.
This is a great story, with a humorous start in the kitchen between Jo and Alex. I am not a hockey watching person, sad I know but I am a football girl.
That being said even with all the hockey jargon in this I was able to easily understand what was going on. Amazing job in that. The love story, family dynamics and background, the team dynamic with all it's complexities when dealing with all types of different personalities, the danger that was happening around them...all of it made for an amazing story.
I am thinking I need to start watching Hockey now.
Also MUCH respect to Firefighters and other First Responders depicted in this book.
I am a HEA kinda gal and I really enjoyed every second of this story. Well done and looking forward to Gooly's story.

Hockey is my favourite sport and this series is so very good. Alex is completely adorable, he's somewhat serious, responsible and very loyal - the sort of guy you can always depend on, which is why he's the captain of the Dragons. Jo is strong and smart and capable of holding her own, she's not afraid to stand her ground when needed - all the qualities of an excellent firefighter. The romance plot is wonderful, although the attraction is immediate it actually takes quite a while for these two to fall into bed and eventually start dating. There's a little suspense with the side plot that highlights Jo very nicely - she's not just a pretty face, she's got a job that she's good at and she has value outside her relationship with Alex.

oggi esce il secondo episodio della saga Ice Dragon Hockey, nata dalla penna di R.J. Scott ed edita da Triskell Edizioni. Avevamo lasciato i protagonisti di Il codice, più innamorati che mai, ora invece ci immergeremo nella vita del capitano dei Dragons, Alex Simard, siete pronti a conoscere lui e la bella Jo, i protagonisti di Il cuore?
Era sicura che non avrebbe avuto problemi a trascorrere un paio d’ore in compagnia di Alex. Aveva intuito che c’era dell’altro in lui oltre all’hockey, forse per il suo ruolo di capitano, o per la sua ferita, fatto stava che lo trovava intrigante.
Il protagonista maschile di questo romanzo è Alex Simard, capitano dei Dragons, un pattinatore provetto ed eccellente giocatore di hockey nella lega professionisti. Alex sembra avere tutto, una famiglia che lo aspetta; l’affetto, il sostegno e la vicinanza della propria squadra; i soldi, la fama ed il successo però non lo rendono completamente felice. Alex, vicino ai 30 anni, sogna di incontrare l’amore della sua vita, di costruire un futuro prospero ed una famiglia; è stanco di essere circondato da ragazze che vogliono portarlo a letto solo per gioco, infatti è da diverso tempo che non ha un incontro di quel tipo. Lo stile vivace e frizzante di R.J. Scott ci trascina nel mondo dell’hockey, non pensavo che gli sport romance potessero essere così carini! Oltre che imparare qualcosa di nuovo, non sono improntati unicamente sulle peripezie d’amore e sul sesso. In Il cuore, qualche scena piccante c’è ma sono piuttosto contenute, invece il mondo di ghiaccio e pattini è davvero molto presente, ha un ruolo assolutamente centrale.
In cinque minuti, si rifece il trucco, indossò lo stesso vestito e le stesse scarpe che aveva messo alla festa di beneficenza della squadra. Sapeva che stava bene, e non solo fuori, ma anche dentro.
Jo è una ragazza sveglia e caparbia, il suo sogno è diventare un vigile del fuoco a tutti gli effetti, al momento sta imparando il mestiere e studia per superare gli ultimi esami che la separano dal suo obbiettivo, lavora al fianco di Kat, sua grande amica e compagna di Ryan; Kat e Rayan sono i protagonisti della prima storia. Jo è indipendente, vive da sola in un piccolo appartamento vicino alla caserma dei vigili del fuoco nella quale lavora, a dispetto delle continua opposizioni della madre è determinata ad inseguire il proprio sogno. Jo non è stata sempre attratta da quella vocazione, qualcosa è scattato dentro di lei alla morte prematura del padre, perso in un incidente sul lavoro. La scomparsa del genitore è ancora una continua fonte di sofferenza per lei, e come difesa si chiude a riccio. Alex e Rayan sono in macchina insieme una sera, quando assistono a qualcosa di inaspettato e sconvolgente. Una macchina vicino a loro si accartoccia improvvisamente contro un palo, i due giocatori di hockey non perdono un solo secondo: si precipitano a chiamare i soccorsi e prestare aiuto. Scoprono che intrappolati tra i rottami si trovano una bambina di pochi mesi e il padre; Alex e Ryan riescono ad estrarre la bambina e il capitano torna indietro per recuperare anche l’uomo. Il coraggio del giovane uomo viene premiato con la riuscita della sua impresa grazie all’aiuto dei soccorritori, Alex rimane ferito nel tentativo di recupero. Il capitano dei Dragons dovrà restare lontano dal ghiaccio per un pò, si trasferisce per qualche giorno a casa dell’amico Rayan, per evitare le orde di giornalisti impiccioni che barricano la sua proprietà.
Alexandre Simard. Io lo chiamo Alex. I suoi compagni lo chiamano Simba, per via del cognome e della criniera bionda, almeno così credo. Tutti i giocatori della squadra hanno un soprannome, sai?
In questa occasione conoscerà la bella Jo e sarà subito molto colpito dalla ragazza nonostante sia un’estranea. Dopo poco Alex prova un irrefrenabile desiderio di baciarla e quello che ottiene è una ginocchiata involontaria nelle parti basse, da lì in poi il desiderio di conoscere Jo è sempre più forte. Prova a farsi perdonare ma la ragazza non sembra gradire molto le sue attenzioni, o meglio, in segreto le gradisce ma pensa che per lui sia solo un gioco. Quando i due si incontrano scoprono di avere tantissimi punti in comune, parlare e semplicemente stare insieme diventa qualcosa di magico che li porta a stare bene, senza contare l’irresistibile e reciproca attrazione fisica. Riusciranno i due a far collimare le proprie vite intese per stare insieme?
L’unica ancora di salvezza era Jo. Lei lo calmava. Era forte e sicura e lui sapeva di aver fatto la scelta giusta chiedendole di sposarlo. Avevano parlato del fatto di fuggire via durante la pausa estiva e di sposarsi, ma Alex voleva il meglio per lei e avrebbe detto di sì a qualsiasi cosa lei gli avesse chiesto.
La storia d’amore tra Jo e Alex è davvero molto dolce, se siete appassionati di romance sono sicura che vi piacerà. Personalmente rispetto a Il codice, il nuovo volume della saga mi è parso un pò meno approfondito dall’autrice; comunque un lato molto positivo che attribuisce molto spazio allo sport e alla storia in sé piuttosto che unicamente alla storia d’amore. Spero che il futuro protagonista nel caso ci sia un proseguo della saga sia Loki! Mi piace davvero molto questa autrice, scoprirla e seguirla è un piacere!

Il cuore è il secondo volume della serie Ice Dragons hockey di RJ Scott. Questa volta seguiamo le vicende del capitano, Alex Simard, detto Simba, il quale cerca di tenere unita la squadra dopo una serie di rovinose sconfitte. La Stanley Cup appare un traguardo lontano se Alex non riuscirà a tenere alto l'umore dei suoi compagni, compattando lo spirito d'unione e sacrificio che li rende un gruppo vincente. I problemi però sono dietro l'angolo e una sera, in seguito ad una accorata riunione con tutti i giocatori, lungo la strada verso casa si imbatte in un incidente d'auto. Simba non ci pensa un attimo e riesce a tirare in salvo una bimba piccola e il suo papà. Putroppo rimane ferito durante il salvataggio ed è costretto a rimanere fermo per qualche tempo, nonostante questo sia il momento in cui la squadra ha più bisogno di lui, della sua forza e della sua grinta.
Ad aiurare il capitano, che durante i soccorsi ha rischiato anche lui la vita, saranno due occhi nocciola grandi e intensi che Alex faticherà a dimenticare. Quegli occhi appartengono a Jo Glins, un futuro vigile del fuoco che Alex avrà occasione di incontrare nuovamente a casa di Kat, la ragazza del compagno di squadra Ryan Flynn, personaggi che abbiamo già conosciuto nel primo libro della serie, Il codice.
Poi sentì l’altra voce, dolce e al o stesso tempo decisa. E il contatto delle mani, quelle che lo avevano afferrato e liberato. Dire che qualcuno aveva occhi belli da svenire era un cliché? Non lo sapeva, ma le profonde oscurità dello sguardo in cui si specchiò erano abbastanza avvolgenti da fargli dimenticare il dolore, almeno per qualche istante.
Simba, rimane subito affascinato dalla ragazza e tenta un'approccio che termina goffamente e fa letteralmente fuggire Jo, ma il capitano non è un tipo che si arrende e inizierà un vero e proprio placcaggio per conquistarla, perchè quella ragazza dovrà essere sua.
Jo non ha nessuna intenzione di innamorarsi, soprattutto di un giocatore. Il suo unico obiettivo dovrebbe essere quello di studiare e terminare il percorso che la renderà un vigile del fuoco a tutti gli effetti. Resistere al fascino di Alex è però un'impresa parecchio difficile, i suoi tentativi di seduzione goffi eppure risoluti, cattureranno Jo facendola capitolare.
La loro non sarà una storia facile, tra lavoro, trasferte e l'ombra di un folle che minaccia di mettere in pericolo la vita di entrambi i due dovranno dimostrare di tenere veramente l'uno all'altro.
Il cuore è una storia d'amore dai toni romantici con qualche sfumatura suspense. I personaggi descritti da RJ Scott sono normali, con problemi reali e nulla di così trascendentale che li possa rendere bizzarri. Alex Simmard è un uomo tutto d'un pezzo, con dei principi sani e un forte spirito di squadra che lo rende un perfetto capitano. Il suo attaccamento al gioco è potente e allo stesso modo si rivela un grande uomo capace di difendere la propria donna e di farla sentire una principessa.
Anche Jo avrebbe bril ato di quella luce, un giorno, ma prima aveva altri obiettivi da raggiungere: superare gli esami, dare il meglio di sé nel suo lavoro e venire a patti con il suo dolore, quello che non la lasciava mai in pace.
Jo è una ragazza che sta attraversando un momento difficile. Ancora distrutta per la morte del padre si è lanciata in un'impresa che le permetterà di colmare il vuoto che sente, facendo la differenza nella vita degli altri. Essere un vigile del fuoco donna però, non è semplice. Farsi rispettare in un ambiente prettamente maschile è un'impresa ardua, ma Jo ha tutte le carte in regola e la determinazione per non farsi schiaciare da nessuno.
Il cuore racconta di una bella storia d'amore, eppure qualcosa è mancato, quella marcia in più che riesce a farti palpitare mentre passi da un capitolo all'altro. Ho trovato eccessivi e ridontati i dettagli che descrivono le pratiche tecniche dell'hockey, forse perchè è uno sport molto lontano dalle mie coscenze e tutte le descrizioni su gioco e strategie hanno rallentato il ritmo della mia lettura. Le scene d'amore tra Alex e Jo sono dolcissime, così come i momenti introspettivi, per questo sono sicura che sfoltita di qualche dettaglio la trama avrebbe avuto un'impennata sostanziale.
La lettura è stata comunque piacevole e l'elemento suspense mi ha aiutato a terminare la lettura con più entusiasmo.
Il cuore è il secondo volume della serie Ice Dragons hockey di RJ Scott. Questa volta seguiamo le vicende del capitano, Alex Simard, detto Simba, il quale cerca di tenere unita la squadra dopo una serie di rovinose sconfitte. La Stanley Cup appare un traguardo lontano se Alex non riuscirà a tenere alto l'umore dei suoi compagni, compattando lo spirito d'unione e sacrificio che li rende un gruppo vincente. I problemi però sono dietro l'angolo e una sera, in seguito ad una accorata riunione con tutti i giocatori, lungo la strada verso casa si imbatte in un incidente d'auto. Simba non ci pensa un attimo e riesce a tirare in salvo una bimba piccola e il suo papà. Putroppo rimane ferito durante il salvataggio ed è costretto a rimanere fermo per qualche tempo, nonostante questo sia il momento in cui la squadra ha più bisogno di lui, della sua forza e della sua grinta.
Ad aiurare il capitano, che durante i soccorsi ha rischiato anche lui la vita, saranno due occhi nocciola grandi e intensi che Alex faticherà a dimenticare. Quegli occhi appartengono a Jo Glins, un futuro vigile del fuoco che Alex avrà occasione di incontrare nuovamente a casa di Kat, la ragazza del compagno di squadra Ryan Flynn, personaggi che abbiamo già conosciuto nel primo libro della serie, Il codice.
Poi sentì l’altra voce, dolce e al o stesso tempo decisa. E il contatto delle mani, quelle che lo avevano afferrato e liberato. Dire che qualcuno aveva occhi belli da svenire era un cliché? Non lo sapeva, ma le profonde oscurità dello sguardo in cui si specchiò erano abbastanza avvolgenti da fargli dimenticare il dolore, almeno per qualche istante.
Simba, rimane subito affascinato dalla ragazza e tenta un'approccio che termina goffamente e fa letteralmente fuggire Jo, ma il capitano non è un tipo che si arrende e inizierà un vero e proprio placcaggio per conquistarla, perchè quella ragazza dovrà essere sua.
Jo non ha nessuna intenzione di innamorarsi, soprattutto di un giocatore. Il suo unico obiettivo dovrebbe essere quello di studiare e terminare il percorso che la renderà un vigile del fuoco a tutti gli effetti. Resistere al fascino di Alex è però un'impresa parecchio difficile, i suoi tentativi di seduzione goffi eppure risoluti, cattureranno Jo facendola capitolare.
La loro non sarà una storia facile, tra lavoro, trasferte e l'ombra di un folle che minaccia di mettere in pericolo la vita di entrambi i due dovranno dimostrare di tenere veramente l'uno all'altro.

Recensione della Queen – “Il Cuore” di RJ Scott è il secondo capitolo della Serie Ice Dragons Hockey edito Triskell Edizioni.
A farci battere il cuore in questo secondo capitolo è la maglia numero 25 indossata dal capitano della squadra di Hockey degli Ice Dragon, Alexander Simard, detto Simba per i suoi capelli fluenti e biondi come la criniera di un leone. Alex è il pilastro della squadra, guida i suoi ragazzi alla conquista della Stanley Cup, aiutandoli e supportandoli in ogni situazione. Ed è proprio dopo una delle riunioni della squadra che Alex si trova davanti ad uno scenario spaventoso: un’auto completamente distrutta con un bambino e suo padre intrappolati all’interno.
“Alex sentì quello che sembrava il pianto di un bambino. Ogni istinto di fuga, prodotto dal timore che la benzina potesse incendiarsi all’improvviso, svanì in un istante. Dentro di lui, la prudenza lasciò il posto alla determinazione”.
Non esita un secondo e si butta tra le lamiere e le fiamme per aiutare il piccolo e suo padre e a salvataggio effettuato, viene a sua volta tirato fuori dall’auto, dalla recluta dei Vigili del Fuoco Jo Glivens. Da quel momento in poi la sua vita sarà messa sotto i riflettori, il numero 25 dei Dragons è un eroe agli occhi di tutti, i giornalisti insediano la sua villa, e a lui non resta che rifugiarsi a casa di Ryan e Kat con una brutta ferita che lo costringe a rimanere a riposo dall’hockey per qualche tempo. Qui incontra nuovamente Jo, l’amica di Kat, e ne rimane subito affascinato. Lui è sempre stato un ragazzone dalla conquista facile, per il suo bell’aspetto e per il ruolo ricoperto. Le storie di una notte sono la sua routine, ma Jo ha qualcosa di diverso e lui prova subito a baciarla adducendo la scusa di ringraziarla ma rimediando invece un bel calcione nelle parti basse. Come primo approccio caro Alex non ci siamo, dobbiamo rivedere la tua tattica di gioco. Jo è sfuggente, lui prova a rintracciarla per scusarsi del suo comportamento irruente ma lei non si fa trovare. Complice la festa di beneficenza annuale della squadra per raccogliere fondi, Jo e Alex si ritrovano di nuovo uno di fronte all’altra. Sarà una nuova occasione per ricominciare da capo e imparare a conoscersi. Il loro avvicinamento sarà graduale e lento perché entrambi hanno una priorità: Alex arrivare ai Play Off e Jo riuscire a superare l’esame per l’abilitazione a Vigile del Fuoco. Entrambi hanno un passato difficile alle spalle e questo li unirà ancora di più, i sentimenti reciproci li trascineranno in un vortice di emozioni forti e la tensione sessuale tra i due sarà palpabile. Il tempo per vedersi è poco perché entrambi sono oberati di impegni e di lavoro, ma il sentimento che provano è qualcosa di inaspettato che li porta a sentire ogni giorno la mancanza dell’altro.
“La ragazza non era mai lontana dai suoi pensieri, anche quando il peso della squadra si faceva sentire come in quel momento. Sentiva la sua mancanza, aveva bisogno di vederla, di toccarla, di parlarle, ed erano sensazioni che non aveva mai provato prima”.
E’ una storia molto lineare e facile da leggere, l’autrice non mi aveva convinta con il primo capitolo e devo dire ahimè che la mia idea è stata confermata da questo libro. Alex e Jo sono due personaggi molto interessanti ma la storia viene scritta in modo frettoloso e superficiale, il loro avvicinamento arriva troppo in fretta e senza nessun colpo di scena o suspense. Ho letto recensioni contrastanti su questo romanzo, c’è chi ha assegnato 5 stelle e chi lo ha trovato inconcludente. Io personalmente mi associo ai lettori che hanno dato un parere sfavorevole alla storia, ed è un vero peccato perché gli sport romance sono i miei romanzi preferiti. Come nel primo libro gran parte della storia è formata dalla descrizione e dalle regole di gioco, cosa per i non appassionati assai tediosa e complicata, la storia d’amore è piatta e senza sbocchi, l’unica nota positiva sono i compagni di squadra che mettono un po’ di pepe alla storia. Un punto di forza dell’autrice sono i dialoghi dei vari personaggi, sempre molto diretti e pungenti con una vena di ironia. Consiglio questo libro se avete un paio di ore libere e avete bisogno di una lettura poco impegnativa e senza grande trasporto.

Lo dico? Posso dirlo? Ok lo dico, anzi lo strillo: IO AMO LA TRISKELL! Ok l'ho detto, mi sto perdutamente innamorando di questa casa editrice e delle sue scelte editoriali che forniscono un pacchetto completo meraviglioso! Libri che meritano, cover attinenti e che sono un piacere per gli occhi e che a differenza di romanzi che ho visto in Amazon in cui il manzo era praticamente l'unica cosa di qualità, in questo caso è semplicemente la ciliegina sulla torta.
La cosa che mi piace di più di questa casa editrice è che sta portando in Italia autrici qui ancora sconosciute, romanzi che meritano e che in sé hanno tutto: divertimento peperoncino e temi importanti.
Dopo appena quattro mesi dalla pubblicazione di "il Codice" ecco che vi parlo di questo romanzo "sportivo" che io definisco "Spicy sport romance " perché narra storie d'amore in contesto sportivo e con un bel pò di pepe senza però scadere nel porno, anche se la parte hot non è predominante né essenziale non è adatto al pubblico più piccino, ma per noi donne è un piacevole orpello.
Avevamo conosciuto Alex "Simba" Simard già nel precedente capitolo della serie (sono auto conclusivi concatenati perciò non dovete leggere per forza entrambi anche se io ve lo consiglio, ma se decidete di leggere entrambi vi conviene rispettare l'ordine cronologico) lui è il Capitano degli Ice Dragons, emergente squadra di hockey. Io mi sono innamorata di tutti loro: forti, violenti sul campo, uniti da una forte passione per il ghiaccio e per questo durissimo sport, mettono amore in ciò che fanno, passione e sacrificio.
La Scott è così brava che vivi veramente la squadra, lo sport non è solo un ornamento ma è l'aria che si respira nel romanzo con i suoi retroscena, i problemi, gli infortuni, e le partite. A un certo punto avrei voluto urlare forza Dragons tanto ero entrata mani e piedi nel romanzo, ma presumo che i miei familiari mi avrebbero preso per matta!
Alex è un personaggio bellissimo, solido, buono vive il suo ruolo molto seriamente se la squadra ha un problema lui c'è, se un suo compagno ha un problema lui è la persona giusta a cui rivolgersi è una roccia, il collante in un esplosione di testosterone colui che riporta la lucidità e calma gli animi.
Jo è una donna che vuole intraprendere un lavoro prettamente maschile e talvolta maschilista, ma è un lavoro che l'ha chiamata a sé come una sirena, un lavoro talvolta pericoloso ma che può fare la differenza. È tenace, ha un carattere apparentemente molto forte ma che nasconde in sé fragilità.
Due orbite apparentemente lontane ma che a causa di un incidente e di amicizie comuni li fa scontrare: una star dell Hockey e un'allieva vigile del fuoco, saranno destinati a unirsi e a diventare un'unica orbita composta da entrambi?
Azione dopo azione, adrenalina e un filo thriller vi catturerà e rimanere sempre con l'attenzione viva perché i colpi di scena sono dietro all'angolo!
Ora non vi svelo di più perché a mio avviso è un romanzo da scoprire e vivere passo dopo passo, capitolo dopo capitolo .
Oltre al coppia Jo e Alex narratori, con doppio pov in prima persona, ritroveremo anche Kat e Ryan e conosceremo meglio altri membri dei Dragons. A me hanno molto colpito i due gemelli e uno dei russi, spulciando in Goodreads ho visto che era stato pubblicato ma poi credo ritirato un terzo capitolo di questa serie che ho visto dovrebbe ritornare pubblicato nel 2018, e spero che la triskell ci tradurrà con celerità anche questo romanzo!

Romance and Fantasy for Cosmopolitan Girls
Con Il cuore, arriva in Italia il secondo volume della serie Ice Dragon Hockey, nel quale sono narrate le vicende dell’esordiente squadra dei Dragons e dei suoi componenti. Mentre nel primo volume - Il Codice - abbiamo letto di Ryan, difensore dei Dragons e di Kate, paramedico, ora leggiamo di Alexandre (Alex) “Simba” Simard, capitano della squadra e Jo (Josephine Caroline Ethel) Glivens, “cadetto” dei vigili del fuoco.
La stagione dei Dragons non sta andando benissimo e di certo l’uscita di scena del capitano non sembra aiutare. Alex, dopo una riunione con la squadra, torna a casa con Ryan e, trovandosi di fronte un incidente, non esita a sfidare le lamiere dell’auto e la possibilità che possa essere avvolta dalle fiamme pur di salvare una bambina e suo padre. Il suo atto di eroismo, tuttavia, lo costringe a stare in panchina e, visto l’assedio dei giornalisti - che lo osannano quale nuovo eroe di Burlington – è anche costretto a stare a casa di Ryan e Kat. Qui ha la possibilità di conoscere Jo, ventisettenne dai capelli ondulati e scuri, quasi neri, e un paio di occhi scuri che ricordano ad Alex pozze profonde di petrolio.
«Che cosa stai facendo?» lo interrogò, lanciando un’altra occhiata al punto in cui Kat era scomparsa. «Cosa ti sembra che stia facendo?» rispose lui, sforzandosi di mantenere un tono di voce leggero e provocatorio. Si fece ancora più avanti, e appoggiò le mani sul bancone, imprigionandola. «Posso baciarti?»
Jo non ha intenzione di cedere al fascino del bellissimo Simba, anche se il richiamo del re della savana in certe occasioni sembra essere davvero forte. Alex non è solo occhi azzurri e capelli biondi, tutto muscoli e niente cervello.
E quando i due si trovano alla stessa festa di beneficenza, scatta qualcosa tra loro. Qualcosa che non possono ignorare, anche se la priorità di Jo è passare gli esami e quella di Alex portare la sua squadra ai play off.
Ma, quel giorno, avrebbe sacrificato tutto per potersi tirare le coperte sopra la testa e rimanere esattamente dov’era. Pensò poi che doveva essere per quel motivo che Ryan era diventato così riluttante alle trasferte. Lui aveva Kat e ora Alex aveva Jo.
Qualcosa però sembra minacciare non solo la tranquillità della coppia ma quella di tutta la città. Perché un’auto con a bordo un padre e la sua bambina esplode? Cosa è successo la sera di Capodanno? E cosa succederà ancora?
Tra sport, amore e un po’ di suspense si sviluppa una storia piacevole, ben scritta ma dal finale incredibilmente scontato e veloce. In ogni caso, consiglio la lettura alle amanti del genere, soprattutto se avete voglia di passare qualche ora (non è una storia molto lunga in verità, credo che il volume non arrivi a duecento pagine) senza impegno, in compagnia degli aitanti Dragons.

Con Il cuore, arriva in Italia il secondo volume della serie Ice Dragon Hockey, nel quale sono narrate le vicende dell’esordiente squadra dei Dragons e dei suoi componenti. Mentre nel primo volume - Il Codice - abbiamo letto di Ryan, difensore dei Dragons e di Kate, paramedico, ora leggiamo di Alexandre (Alex) “Simba” Simard, capitano della squadra e Jo (Josephine Caroline Ethel) Glivens, “cadetto” dei vigili del fuoco.
La stagione dei Dragons non sta andando benissimo e di certo l’uscita di scena del capitano non sembra aiutare. Alex, dopo una riunione con la squadra, torna a casa con Ryan e, trovandosi di fronte un incidente, non esita a sfidare le lamiere dell’auto e la possibilità che possa essere avvolta dalle fiamme pur di salvare una bambina e suo padre. Il suo atto di eroismo, tuttavia, lo costringe a stare in panchina e, visto l’assedio dei giornalisti - che lo osannano quale nuovo eroe di Burlington – è anche costretto a stare a casa di Ryan e Kat. Qui ha la possibilità di conoscere Jo, ventisettenne dai capelli ondulati e scuri, quasi neri, e un paio di occhi scuri che ricordano ad Alex pozze profonde di petrolio.
«Che cosa stai facendo?» lo interrogò, lanciando un’altra occhiata al punto in cui Kat era scomparsa. «Cosa ti sembra che stia facendo?» rispose lui, sforzandosi di mantenere un tono di voce leggero e provocatorio. Si fece ancora più avanti, e appoggiò le mani sul bancone, imprigionandola. «Posso baciarti?»
Jo non ha intenzione di cedere al fascino del bellissimo Simba, anche se il richiamo del re della savana in certe occasioni sembra essere davvero forte. Alex non è solo occhi azzurri e capelli biondi, tutto muscoli e niente cervello.
E quando i due si trovano alla stessa festa di beneficenza, scatta qualcosa tra loro. Qualcosa che non possono ignorare, anche se la priorità di Jo è passare gli esami e quella di Alex portare la sua squadra ai play off.
Ma, quel giorno, avrebbe sacrificato tutto per potersi tirare le coperte sopra la testa e rimanere esattamente dov’era. Pensò poi che doveva essere per quel motivo che Ryan era diventato così riluttante alle trasferte. Lui aveva Kat e ora Alex aveva Jo.

Il cuore è il secondo volume della serie Ice Dragon Hockey di R.J. Scott, pubblicato da Triskell Edizioni, di cui non ho letto il primo. Questo fortunatamente non pregiudica la sua lettura.
Il mondo dell’Hockey è un universo sconosciuto per me, quindi ogni volta che trovo uno sport romance che lo riguarda ne sono felice.
Il libro inaspettatamente mi è piaciuto più di quanto pensassi; nonostante l’odioso “Instalove”, non è troppo scontato e noioso. Anzi, la storia è ben scritta e scorrevole e ti prende già dalle prime pagine.
Le vicende sono incentrate sul capitano della squadra di Hockey degli Ice Dragon, Alex “Simba” Simard, un uomo pieno di responsabilità che è alle prese con una squadra che non riesce a vincere perché non unita e per questo in crisi, che rischia inoltre di non classificarsi per i playoff e la Stanley Cup.
Lui come capitano ce la mette tutta perché ama la squadra ed ama quello che fa.
È una persona forte e allo stesso tempo buona, ha un cuore generoso ed è leale.
Una sera, di rientro da una partita con il suo compagno Ryan in auto, assiste ad un incidente. Entrambi scendono dalla macchina ma Alex, senza aspettare i soccorsi, si intrufola dentro l’auto in fiamme per salvare un uomo e la sua figlia neonata, rimanendone a sua volta prigioniero. Viene salvato dai vigili del fuoco, anche se con qualche ferita.
In quest’occasione conosce Jo, che gli ha salvato la vita anche se lui non lo ricorda, almeno non subito.
Da questo momento in poi Alex viene considerato un eroe e perseguitato dai media. Così, una volta dimesso dall’ospedale, trascorre per un po' la sua convalescenza a casa dell’amico Ryan e della sua compagna Kat, e qui ritrova Jo, che approfitta della sua amica e della casa per studiare per l’esame da vigile del fuoco.
Quando Alex la vede, capisce che non è come le altre donne con cui è stato e quando cerca di approcciarsi a lei per davvero la prima volta, finisce col baciarla e a ritrovarsi un’accidentale ginocchiata nelle palle.
Da qui partirà la loro storia.
Jo non è la classica ragazza da romance, non è una donzella in pericolo, al contrario è lei che salva la vita alle persone, è una tosta, che combatte per entrare in un mondo prettamente maschile e pieno di pregiudizi nei confronti delle donne.
È determinata e pratica, ma ogni tanto ha degli attimi di debolezza, specialmente quando riemerge il dolore per la scomparsa del padre. Quando conosce Simba, ha qualche pregiudizio nei suoi confronti, ma poi lui la sorprende, stravolgendo tutto il suo mondo.
Il libro affronta delle tematiche interessanti (anche se non ben sviluppate, ma comunque degne di nota), come il maschilismo sul lavoro, di come ci possano essere ancora dei pregiudizi sulle donne o anche di come sia organizzata una squadra (sportiva e non), e di cosa sia effettivamente un capitano, che non è solo un uomo che dà indicazioni ma è un qualcosa di molto più complesso.
La storia d’amore parte con il classico colpo di fulmine, ma il rapporto tra i due protagonisti si sviluppa più lentamente rispetto ai soliti romance, rendendo la loro storia un po' più credibile. Inoltre, cosa rara che ho apprezzato tanto (ed è la seconda volta che mi ricapita), è la quasi mancanza di scene di sesso. Ci sono, ma non sono tantissime e protagoniste del libro, si dà più importanza ai personaggi, alle loro storie e allo svilupparsi di questo amore.
Come ho già detto prima, la lettura è molto scorrevole e avvincente. Unica nota negativa che do al libro è che certe cose dovevano essere sviluppate meglio: non sono scritte in modo frettoloso, ma dovevano davvero essere approfondite di più. L’autrice doveva dare ad alcuni elementi della storia più spazio (per citarne due: il capitano Bill Swanson ed il bombarolo), e non raccontarle in modo superficiale. Capisco che sia un romance, però poteva fare meglio. Un'altra cosa non propriamente negativa è stata che, durante la lettura, i termini tecnici o le spiegazioni sportive mi lasciavano un po' disorientata, ma questa è una cosa personale per una mia mancanza sulla conoscenza dell’hockey.
Libro super consigliato per chi ama le storie d’amore con un po' di adrenalina e dai protagonisti dal cuore d’oro.

Ahiahi, i ragazzoni dell’Hockey si innamorano e… Sbam!
In questo secondo volume tocca a Simba, Alexandre Simard, capitano degli Ice Dragons essere folgorato da una dolcissima e determinata allieva Vigile del Fuoco, intervenuta a soccorrerlo quando lui salva una bambina e suo padre da un’auto in fiamme.
Per sfuggire ai giornalisti che lo braccano, Simba si rifugia a casa di Ryan e Kat e lì avrà modo di rivedere Jo. Il primo incontro è un totale fallimento e Simba dovrà sudare parecchio per rimediare alla figuraccia…
La vicenda si sviluppa su due, anzi tre piani narrativi: c’è la squadra, con i suoi ragazzi e le loro storie, ci sono l’amore e il sesso, tra alti, bassi, tentativi, goffaggini, ritirate strategiche e tutto l’armamentario tipico e c’è la suspense, che movimenta la narrazione e regala qualche piccolo gradito brivido nel finale.
“ Il cuore” è proprio quello che anticipa il titolo, una storia d’amore, amicizia, sport e buoni sentimenti, un ritratto puntuale di quella American way che ha come fine assoluto la ricerca della felicità.
Una fiaba dolce, da leggere in particolare nei pomeriggi di pioggia.

Alex is learning the hard way what it means to be captain - managing the difficult place between players and management. The issues with all the players were interesting.
He then gets interested in Jo, who is a firefighter with a chip on her shoulder. And what is it about heroines who are tall (she is shorter than me) being all ‘cant be a girls girl’, annoys me. As did Jo’s attitudeat times.
She did relax some as the story went on.
For most it was about Alex and the hockey and him woo-ing Jo - then suddenly we have a mass bomber on the loose but it did give a tense ending!

Esce oggi per la Triskell Edizioni il secondo volume della serie sport romance Ice Dragons Hockey dell'autrice R.J. Scott. Ho avuto il piacere di poterlo leggere in anteprima e devo ammettere di aver amato più la parte sportiva che quella romance... ma per scoprirne di più, leggete la mia recensione ;)
