This was a good idea for a story. Different dimensions and shifters, dreamscapes and different cultures clashing. This is where the however comes into play. At times the story didn’t seem to flow very well. One moment the heroine was contemplating one thing and then ended up seeming to do something else. She was embarrassed but then just decides to embrace what was happening. It is purely for these moments that I have it only 3 stars.

I enjoyed the storyline and the fact that it is different to a lot of what is coming out at the moment was a decided advantage. The heroine is a bit indecisive and seems to be easily guided into doing things/thinking things from those around her. The Hero’s (yup there are 3) are all strong and confident men/shifters (even though at one point they all cried).

Aside from the Hero’s I’m unsure about the others from their world. The interactions the heroine has with them don’t come across as a warm race. This coupled with how their story could progress had left me intrigued as to what will come.

It’s a definite happy for now ending and rest assured for those who do not like male on male interactions there is none of that in this story. The focus is ALL on the heroine!

This was an enjoyable read. This is my first Helen J. Perry book and it was good. The characters were interesting and different. I did find Brenna a bit annoying. She was not that interesting in the beginning, but I thought she grew as the story progressed. Also, I really liked the princes. They are brothers and are so different from each other. Corbin is the youngest. He seems really loving and caring. Victor is the second oldest. I thought that he was the sexy one. Waldrom is the oldest. He is the regal Crown Prince, and is in line for the crown. It was an interesting interpretation of mythological fiction with steamy scenes. I wish the story was long and I cannot wait to read the other books in the series. Overall, a great read.

3.5 stars. This one for me had a shaky start but it ended on a high note! I do love the way Helen used mythology and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2!

This book was really strange to me the leading lady is house sitting for a family friend, where she discovers a magical forest. She saves a raven who was injured that happens to be a real man from another dimension, the man and his brothers visit her in her dreams and they mate with her. The more it goes on the more she begins to piece things together and figures out they're one in the same. When the oldest brother comes to her and tells her about their world it really confused me because he spoke of God's of Greek Mythology and of Odin I didn't think those were associated with one another? But anyways it was really too over the top for me lots of things said and never explained like for instance the naked people in the forest who told her they owed her a favor for what she did that if she ever needed anything they would be there to help her. Who were these people? why did they owe her? I never found out so it wasn't interesting enough for me to continue on with.

Brenna is spending the summer house-sitting for a family friend. The small town, the big, old house set on the edge of magical woods, is the perfect place for Brenna to relax and reconnect with nature after her college years. The woods hold an allure for her that borders on the mystical and her days are spent wandering, lost in the beauty. Her nights are no less pleasurable as she dreams of beautiful men. The dreams start after Brenna rescues an injured raven and she can't help but feel that there is a connection. Maybe her lonely subconscious has manufactured the three delicious men from her desire to connect with others and have love in her life. Maybe they all have dark raven-like hair and eyes because of the raven she saved and the ravens that now surround the area. Or maybe there really is something magical about the forest.

Different dimensions, three princes, shifters, a stubborn girl, and magic. All good premises for a story. However, it didn't quite live up to my hopes. The writing was awkward. I can't be more specific. There were passages that were excellent, and some that didn't work as well. The princes' pattern of speech was stilted. I had a hard time sympathizing with Brenna. I completely understood her obligation to her job. I did not understand her other objections. Fated Souls. Yes, she believed that they were meant to be together, that their feelings were real, however, she needed to stick to a conventional timeline of meet, date, marry, over several years. Ridiculous. Let's make everyone miserable because we need to follow a schedule. The princes were honest from the beginning. Brenna thought they were a dream. From the moment she learned they were real, she needed to be honest herself. Then she seemed to draw a line. She made it seem that the princes wanted her to be a pampered pet and wouldn't allow her a voice but that seemed presumptuous on her behalf without any conversations. Victor, Corbin, and Waldrom were gorgeous, arrogant men. Devoted, generous lovers. Hard-working men, loyal to their kingdom. We didn't learn much more about them.

The world building was good and the ending set up a new story arc for the next book. It will be interesting to see if politics come into play, if a soul bond will be enough.

I was asked to read this by Ms Perry, that I write a review was not required.

But I gotta! OOOEEEE I gotta!!

I've had a run for male/male books to read, and I so desperately needed a down and dirty male/female book and this did not disappoint, three males!

Brenna dreams about 3 raven-haired brothers, who all want to mate with her! By day, her life is plagued by real ravens so she just assumes that the dreams are to counter-act her day, right??

Wrong! Brenna is able to travel to parallel plains, where the brothers are princes and Brenna somehow managed to create a mating bond between them by saving one of them! Waldrom brings Brenna to his home, and they perform a ceremony with Victor and Corbin but Brenna doesn't fully comprehend what she has done, and runs.

I get WHY she runs, though. She did not know what she was agreeing to, hell she would have sold her soul to get the sexy dark haired man to just hurry it up already! A girl's got needs, right?? But she is so miserable after, and the brothers are miserable too. They just have to talk. Lots of sexy time too, but TALK! Sexy time is well written, and well delivered. Hot hot HOT!!!

I love the take on shifters too, with the sci-fi/paranormal hints. Made for an enjoyable read! Very enjoyable! So much so, I stayed up til nearly 2am reading this! And that was after a 14 hour shift at work! I'll probably read book two straight through too!

Loved the other ladies who Brenna meets, Lauren and Jade. Those two know far more about the woods and what it contains than they let on!

Very different from Ms Perry's usual work, but I thank her kindly for writing this! I NEEDED this book!

Thank you!

5 full stars!

Needs more

Unfortunately this work needs help. I gave it 3* because it has a great foundation and premise. There is so much promise that I don't want to deter the author. The characters are awesome and the emotion is incredible. The woods and the dimensions including the mythology is awesome. However the editing needs to be done there is to much confusion within the writing of his and hers. Moreover is the story being unfinished there is no clear ending and no info on the dimensions her ravens love in.

Finally read book 2 first though because the character Lauren is in this book. Overall this is a creative and intriguing story I wish the author would clean it up and add more to it.

A book about raven shifters, sort of.

Brenna is fresh out of college and unsure what to do with her life.
Taking an opportunity to relax and house sit for a family friend, Brenna uses the time to think on what to do with her future.
What she didn't expect was to find a whole other world in the background and change her life altogether.

When I read the prologue, I was super confused.
After finishing the book though, I went back and it made more sense.
It is still a little unclear, given some of the content spoke upon in the prologue, but it comes together eventually.

I like the basis for the story.
I think it is interesting and a little different than what I've read recently.
I hope we will get a little more background information as to what they are and why they are this way.
We got a little bit in this book, but I'd like to see it expanded on.

The characters were okay in my opinion.
There is one particular scene that I really enjoyed and it showed a side of the male harem that I don't think many would typically see.
I thought that was really good. Showing that emotion from strong characters.
Brenna wasn't my favorite.
I understand her to an extent, but sometimes her logic didn't make sense to me.
And there were some supporting characters that I felt came out of left field, like they didn't have much of a purpose. Maybe in future books this will be seen, but for this book they just seemed too random.

This book is told from one point of view, Brenna, the main female character.

I'm on the fence about this series.
On one hand, I'm curious to know what will happen and if the series will answer some lingering questions I have and improve my understanding.
On the other, I wasn't enthralled enough for me to seek out the next book immediately (even though it's not out).
I didn't have that desire, that urge, that compels me to read more right away.

I would recommend checking this book out for yourself.
Form your own opinion about it.

It was interesting and strange. Some of the wording used during the intimate scenes were icky and took me out of the moment. Wording you would see in a xxx-rated short story, words like “stuffed” “goo” and “moist”
The h really made me mad. I think the author was trying to be strong for feminism and communication and thus made her h break the guy’s hearts into little bitty pieces. But for me, she was the one that was unbending, not communicating, not looking at the relationship from their eyes. I really did not like that scene at all and felt it could have been done differently.
I still gave the story 3 stars for the unique story I guess. I’ve been in a terrible book slump and this is the first one I’ve had a desire to finish so that deserves kudos

Imagination takes flight

Brenna gets asked to house sit, what she gets in return is dreams. A walk through the forest puts her in the path of a wounded raven. A raven that miraculously is healed in moments. And then becomes a man in her dreams. Along with 2 others. Confusion? Oh, yeah. There's plenty of that. Add in the oddly spoken college girl that seems to know more than she should about what's going on and the double speak that pretty much confirms it, thing have gone from small town to Oz.

Spoilers ahead.
Ok, this was written very oddly. The timeline due to the dimensional travel and dreamscapes and grrr, it was all over the place. The words were vague, the romance next to nill- mostly just sex, whether in dreams or other dimensions. Her only reason to stall the fast moving relationship was house sitting. There was a portal. She couldn't just pop back over once a week to dust? The supposed to be charming but creepy Jade was odd. I'm guessing a tie in since I see her name on book 3. Not sure I'm going to get there. This one I grabbed as a freebie, sat in my list till I decided to read it. There were typos, as well. Mostly Brenna came off as a mouse, Oldest brother as a vague background leader without much personality (can't remember his name other than it starts with W, that's how vague we're talking about), Victor (middle brother) is at turns needy then uppity, Corbin (youngest) goes gung ho then is decidedly fragile. There's talk of monsters but we get one brief nightmare and very little world building. The logic behind their customs is never explained, just seems like an excuse to squeeze in more sex. There was a lot of missed out world building opportunities. If you're looking for a fluff read this is ok. If you're looking to drop into a series this may not be as satisfying a read.

Fantastical, magical and sexy!

The author takes us on a magical adventure with one seemingly introverted and shy female. The protagonist, Brenna, escapes her city life to house sit in the middle of the woods, in a small town, and, from there, her adventures began in earnest with the meeting of some strange behaving birds. The prologue gives cues that everything she experiences is much more than meets the eye, but we discover the truth much sooner than she does. I loved the fantasy and mythology mix, and the larger mystery involved in the story line. Ultimately, I didn't get all my questions answered, but I feel as this series continues, each book will hold more answers. This appears to be a standalone, and definitely has a happy ever after, but I feel like the author could definitely add more to the story of these characters, as she definitely left room to play, I hope she does! At times this book is sweet and innocent, and the romance heartfelt and sincere, but the author definitely does not shy from the erotic fantasies of the heroine. I love that at once she is shy, yet bold, introverted yet unafraid of the unknown and to explore her fantasies unfettered. I want more from this world, and these characters. I love teasing, but I hope the author will take pity on me, and add to the story of Brenna, who she really is, delve deeper into her new world, and let me meet the other characters in the realm who hold such sway over their fates!

Nope

Where to begin? I don't like speaking ill of any author because they were able to create a world that wasn't there before. For that, I'm always grateful. So why one star?
This book is loaded with punctuation and spelling errors that are glaring. On one page alone I counted five. I tried not to focus on it but it really pulled me out of the story every time it happened, which was often.
Brenna, the lead character, isn't totally unlikable but she is completely unremarkable. Well, except for the fact that she doesn't even remotely bat an eye when a raven becomes a man before her. I would imagine that would get a much larger response than the one in the book. The males in the book have zero personality. Zero. They instantly love her, worship her and need to marry her. No reason why other than they are bonded and us humans don't really understand that sort of thing. The sex was average by reverse harem standards. There wasn't much passion and the sex didn't feel overwhelming or even all that great.
I won't be reading the rest of the series because I genuinely don't care what happens to any of the characters.

Picked this one up as a free read off of major book retailer site as plot looked intriguing. Brenna is house sitting and is continually drawn to the forest where she rescues a raven who, incidentally, can turn into a man. References to Olympus, Gods, and mythology that never quite go anywhere.

Good concepts of different dimensions, shape shifting, and dream sharing. It fell apart for me as Brenna was irritating. Cute that she interacted with the various ravens as if they were human. Dumb that she was so sexed up that she couldn't quite comprehend the "if we do this, it's forever" comment from two different guys, I mean birds.

She goes off to Raven world in another dimension where everyone is naked. She finds this disturbing, yet not 10 pages later she's having uninhibited sex in front of hundreds of people.... then doesn't quite figure out that it's a big ceremony? The guys should have dumped her for being so stupid.

She then has to run off because she's scared of giving up everything she knows but then basically pouts and does nothing in her own dimension. oh wait, I do love them, let me go back.

Overall a disappointing read.

This was available for free through a book app I have. Decided to give it a whirl, because I’ve never read a spicy book with Raven shifters in it before, and… well, there’s a first time for everything, right? …well, this will also be the last time. Haha. The one and only good thing I have to say about this story, is that it was an intriguing story concept… but it all went downhill from there. The execution was HORRIBLE. And that’s putting it mildly. It was grammatically full of errors, there was absolutely no character development, no coherent plot, characters that popped in and out of the story adding unanswered questions (which were ALL still completely unanswered by the end of the book), and the main female character acted as if she was a spinster at just 24yrs old, lmao. Like what?? And aaaah yes, the lovely trope that she somehow has abnormal abilities to walk through dimensions—which is constantly brought up and then shrugged off at least half a dozen times, but those abilities and why she has them are never explained. I honestly don’t know what even possessed me to finish this book, other than the fact that I just don’t like not finishing books. Sigh. Don’t waste your time.

Wasn’t a fan of this book, something about the style lost my interest and had me skimming.

Catching up on reviews. Didn’t realize kindle wasn’t marking these completed.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

DNF - made it to 55%, skimmed & skipped ahead a bunch, & by 84%, things were still falling apart. First, this book needed major editing/proof-reading, there were way too many mistakes for a published book! The mistakes not only pulled me out of the story but forced me to backtrack to figure out major issues & simple things like “his” or “her” being swapped & screwing up sentences.
Brenna was extremely odd, in an unpleasant way to read about. The 3 princes were also odd, in a what the heck is wrong with them way. The story’s plot just rambled with no direction other than sex. Some of the sex almost seemed painful to read about- as in not well written. I didn’t understand the emotions or where the plot was trying to go. I wasted time trying to read this when I could have been reading something better.

Three princes and the soulmate found on Earth realm...

When Brenna assist a wounded raven , she starts dreaming of having sexual fantasies with three gorgeous men. When she learns that they are soulmates and the princes' are from a different dimension and she is extended to marry them without knowing them, it almost ends in a catastrophe. Can she make her three princes and lovers understand what she wants and needs to make their union succeed?

Reverse harem romances add a nice spice, but also shows that men are not the only ones who want variety in a relationship. They also show contentment between partners as well as love even if these are on the paranormal side and different from human thinking.

A Good Start

The storyline for this book was very interesting. Once I got into the meat of the story, I really enjoyed it. I loved the Princes and the world they came from. Brenna got on my nerves! There is a scene where she just pissed me off and I really wanted to stop reading right there. I’m glad I finished it though because she finally came to her senses. The book started very rocky but as I continued to read it got better. At first it was very confusing as it jumped from topic to topic. I’m hoping the rest of the books will answer questions that I still have about these characters.

Just NO

I'm sorry, I dislike giving poor reviews and dislike even more thinking I might hurt someone's feelings. But authors take a chance when they put their work out there and the only way they can grow, learn and master the skill of writing is if people are honest in their reviews. This book was stupid. There was not enough explanation of the events past present or future. And the men calling her "hatchling" made zero sense and in no way shape or form was it sexy in the least. I am glad this book was free or else I would be returning it for a refund. I wish I knew if books 2 and 3 were any better but I'm not willing to take that gamble.

Oh my, this is hot reverse harem book. What would you do if a gorgeous male shows up in your dreams, undresses and is willing to please you? I doubt it is saying no and Brenna doesn’t either. But saying meant way more than she ever meant. The story has an interesting beginning. As the story goes things do heat up and we are brought into a whole different realm. Can’t wait to see how things will progress in book two. If you like hot PNR with RH then this is the right story for you.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.

I probably should have sat in an ice bath while reading this book. It would have been jacuzzi hot by the end. 😉

This book was awesome and original. The was one bit that was a little slow, but the rest of the book made up for it in spades. All I can say is that I also want a raven or three. 😋

I also like the fact that all books in the series are already written. They will be published close together, so I don't have long to wait inbetween.

I highly recommend this book and I really look forward to reading the next in the series. 📚

Ravens is short, full of smut and a little annoying. Whilst the series is called Sons of Olympus and mentions the gods, thankfully the three guys are new and not a rehash. I actually liked the little nicknames in this one. Gotta say the biggest thing I didn’t like in this book was the overuse of ‘make love’ especially when she first uses it. The second would be her attitude and how she only needs to look in the mirror to see the enemy in the story. Overall, I did like the idea and I’m looking forward to reading Lauren’s story.

ok I read it, yes it was late last night I couldn't sleep, but guess what I did after I read Ravens, it was funny, ok completely ridiculous more like it but hey it's fantasy fiction shouldn't it be ridiculous, outrageous and a bit funny with a few steamy scenes thrown in. Anyone who likes a fun fantasy story may like it me not so much and I'm not even talking about the grammar and spelling mistakes which really, really bug me I'm talking about the weak characters, the gaping plot holes and a storyline that dragged in parts.

Entertaining and steamy hot

Overall a good story if you are looking for a quick hot read. Using a shapeshifting raven race for the guys of this reverse harem and mixing it with the Olympian gods was a good idea but I wish the author would have talked more about the relationship between the ravens and the Greeks. And, even thought the sex scenes started well, there were times when the description felt too rushed, destroying the magic it had created at the start.
Apart from those two points, I found the book entertaining and thrilling.

Really enjoyed this book by Helen Perry. Wasn't quite sure where the book was going at the beginning, which is an element I enjoy as it makes the entire story one worth gripping onto. Was good to see the MC have a mind of her own and want to work at things, rather than jump straight into a situation without any thought process. Loved it and can't wait to read Sons of Olympus Book 2 - Defenders.

Awesome story, very entertaining, three hot brothers and one human woman. Could she make the right decision or would she betray them! Caught in a dreamworld could she tell reality from her dreams? Who were these men, were they real? Breaking their hearts and betraying their destiny, could she accept the truth? Her decision would not only effect them but their whole kingdom! Already her decision was causing problems! What would she do? Their love and future was in her hands!
