Seductive Suspensions

Rate this book
Librarian's Note: This is an alternate cover edition for ASIN B07BCNQR84

This was bullsh*t.

Being suspended for a late hit ruins my history-making games-played streak.

The only good that comes out of this is meeting Kira, a woman I've noticed in the stands the past couple of seasons.

The only problem is breaking up with Rose. She wants to get married and I... I'm not quite there yet. When she gives me an ultimatum, I'm forced to make a decision.

I just wish Kira didn't complicate things.

Because while I DON'T want to get married, I find I DO want to be around Kira.

Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 23 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real.

I have been anxiously looking forward to Drew’s story for a while now. This is not at all how I was thinking it would go, and I say that in all the best of ways. Usually, I hate love triangles. My experience being on what felt like the wrong side of one at the time has colored my opinion of them. The one in this book is very deftly handled. We see the anxiety that it’s possible formation causes Drew and Kira, and the careful steps they take to avoid that disastrous situation. One of the things I appreciate most about this series, and the author herself even points it out, is that the all of the heroines in here are strong, independent, vivacious women who are with their hockey players because they can’t help loving the man. The internationally famous athlete has very little to do with why they love them. There’re no gold diggers or arm candy in this special group of ladies, and I love that about them. A quick note of warning: this book comes to a very abrupt stop at the end. I would have liked to have more of Drew and Kira’s developing relationship, but I'm hoping we may get to see some of that in the next book – which I already can’t wait to get my hands on.

A good read
Drew has been in a relationship with Rose for 5 years but its not going anywhere. She wants marriage and kids but Drew just isn't sure he wants that with her but when she gives him an ultimatum, he just doesn't know what he will do.
But he has enough going on in his life at the moment he needs to concentrate on his skating. He is going through a suspended for a late hit on the ice. He has never done anything wrong on the ice before and he feels that he didnt do anything wrong then even but he will just wait out his suspension and get on with his skating. But there is a woman in the crowd that always catches his eye and he feels guilty but he ever never cheat on Rose but there is just something special about her.
Kiera is a massive hockey fan and a even bigger Drew fan and he hopes she isn't imagining it when she things that Drew looks at her when he is warming up on the ice. But when she goes to get some food she is surprised when its Drew serving her. what will happen now these two have met??
I really enjoyed this story there were enough twists and turns that kept me hooked

Over 3 prequels and 7 books (I'm not really a "hockey" person) I've fallen in love with the Slapshot group of characters. The eleventh in a series on the Newport Gulls hockey team, Seductive Suspensions is different than the earlier books in the series in that the hockey serves primarily as a backdrop to this story, Now I read romantic suspense and some romance, but these books stand alone and I don't know how to categorize them. This is a very good, well-written book, maybe her best work to date. I can't help but be amazed by the sheer volume of good writing she can produce in multiple romance genres. I'll read more by her in the future and look forward *SPOILER* to the next Slapshot novel, YES THERE WILL BE ANOTHER! The final book, Brutal Love & Stanley Cups: Book 8 in the Slapshot Series releases spring 2018!

Seven books into this fantastic series, and I just get more attached to this family of hockey players and their loves. The sweet, down to earth Drew is just one more reason why. At the start of this one, I wasn't sure how it would all go and I'll admit, the story didn't go as I expected - in a very good way. Considering the length of the book, things do progress quickly and it is more instalove than the norm for this series. I usually prefer a bit more building on the relationship, but it all just worked for Drew and Kira. Drew is such a sweet, endearing character and combined with Kira's down to earth personality, they make a great match. To sum it up, another entertaining, sexy read for the Slapshot series.

Every addition to the Slapshot series is a good one!!

Drew has been suspended, which ends his chances for holding the record for number of career games played. When he's assigned to the concession stands during those two games, he has the chance to chat with a fan he's been noticing in the stands for a long time. He shouldn't notice her because he's been with Rose for 5 years but there's just something about her. Kira is shocked that her favorite player is selling her snacks and seems to know who she is. When circumstances continue to throw them together, they can't deny the chemistry that exists between them.

I'm not usually a fan of love triangles but I loved this one. From Drew and Kira's first conversation, their relationship just felt right. I felt bad for Rose but she'll find her HEA with her perfect person. I thought this would be the last book in this series but was pleasantly surprised that this won't be the last! I'm not ready to retire the Gulls!!

Another great book in the series. This was a quick read.

Drew Stefano gets suspended for two games due to an accidental late hit in a game. Kira Frank is a vet, season ticket holder and has a bit of a crush on Drew. During the suspension he "works" the concession stand where they bump into each other and chat. They meet again at a dog park. Meanwhile Drew's longtime girlfriend Rose lands a part in a series filming in Vancouver. She makes it clear she wants to get married and have kids, but he is not ready for that with her and she breaks off their relationship. Drew's dog gets sick and Kira takes care of him. Drew and Kira end up getting together and falling in love.

Drew gets an undeserved suspension, ruining his perfect attendance at games streak. When he comes back, Rose breaks up with him; she wants more than he can give right now, and she's not sure he's the one. Enter Kira, local vet and dog lover. Drew is her favorite player, and he notices her while working concession during his suspension. And boy do they hit it off immediately! I'm am still loving every book in this series. I'm sorry that things didn't work out with Drew and Rose, but they were able to come to a meeting of the minds and part amicably. It was for the best anyway - his chemistry with Kira is just off the charts.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Drew and Kira. He's a hockey player for the Gulls and she's a vet. Kira and her friends have season tickets and sir by the glass, she enjoys it since she can see Drew up close. Drew has been with Rose for five years but they are at an impasse, she wants marriage and he doesn't. Drew's suspended do to a late hit and Seraphina had him working concessions when Kira see him again. They talk and connect. So when they run each other running with their dogs they realize they have more in common. But when Kira overhears Rose breaking up with Drew she's offers to be his friend. Things develop quickly but happily.

Seductive Suspension is a sweet story of how sometime things just end and other without warning begin.

Kira is a die hard hockey fan and Drew is a hocky player that was suspended. Their path cross as Drew is working the concession stand at the game as a promotional idea. He recognizes Kira as he has seen her before at the games and feels a pull. Just getting out if a relationship he want to see where this will lead.

This is a fast read that will melt your heart and make you smile. The kindness in this story is refreshing.

This book is novella seven in the Slapshot series. This is Drew's story. One game changes everything for Drew, he is suspended for a late hit in the hockey game and he starts to think about his relationship with Rose. She wants to move forward, get married and he doesn't. Drew also meets Kira, he has seen her in the stands watching the games but he is attracted to her. Drew has to decide what he is going to do personally so that he is clear headed and ready to get back on the ice professionally. A quick read but it was enjoyable and you get to see another happy couple emerge. Enjoy!

This was a good read and a welcome addition to this series. I liked Kira and Drew's story. I thought that it offered a entertaining blend of emotions, drama and tension. I knew going in that that was a novella length read, so the shortness did not surprise me. That being said, I did feel a bit let down and unsatisfied after I finished reading it. In my opinions, the plot and characters could have used the extra time to deepen and fully develop into the untapped potential that they had. This is my candid, volitional review.

I loved seeing Drew and Kira's relationship develop, even in the face of what Drew was facing. I had a hard time at first with him because he was already in a relationship, but sometimes you can't help who you fall for. I love the Slapshot series and seeing all other players that came before. I wish there would have been more at the end however. I don't think we get any closure with Kira and Drew but that's probably because we will see more of them in the following book(s).

Another enjoyable sports romance novella...Drew is considered a gentleman on and off the ice but now after years of playing the game he gets a 2 game suspension and his longtime girlfriend is acting strange...... the only good thing to come out of all this is that he has finally met Kira a fan that hasnt missed any home games and someone he has watched sitting on the stands.....even though he is attracted to her he needs to remember that he is in a relationship.........

Heather C. Myers scores with Seductive Suspensions (Slapshot #7) by Heather C. Myers. This is Drew Stefano’s and veterinarian Kira Frank’s book. This story is appropriate for adult readers.

I really enjoyed this story. Being an animal lover, I appreciated that Kira was a vet and that Drew was an animal lover. I love that they had the shelter goal in common. I respected that they opened to each other. I like the idea of a player noticing a fan. I thought it was refreshing how things played out with Rose. Everyone was reasonable.

Seductive Suspensions was skillfully written. It was a heartfelt story that was a delightful read. I recommend this novella to people who enjoy sports romances and people who love animals. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This is another hit in this series. I can't get enough of the sexy alpha hockey men of the Newport Gulls Hockey Team. Each book takes you into the lives of these players. You are hooked from the beginning. After you are finished you are wanting more. The story was a quick read, the characters fit well together and have amazing chemistry. You will enjoy the story of Drew and Kira. I recommend this book and series. A must read.

This is a novella in the Slapshot series and it features Drew and Kira. He’s what they call a “gentleman on the ice” but after checking a player during the game, it was deemed to be so much more than a check. Everything changes after that, which is how he met Kira, the veterinarian and hockey fan.

This is a short, sweet and steamy hockey romance that includes a couple of pretty great
K-9’s, a sexy hockey player and a beautiful veterinarian.

Excellent hockey romantic novella. The blurb gives the reader a good idea what to expect from the story. Yet, Ms. Myers has a lot more in store for her readers. Drew is dedicated to his job as a hockey player yet his relationship is rocky. He meets Kira at a difficult time. The story plays out to be more than what readers expect. I received a complementary copy of this book via Booksprout and choose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Myers.

As with the other books in this series the characters and storyline are enjoyable. This book is not quite as intense as the previous one but still entertaining. I do still feel the endings could be more conclusive though.

I read an ARC copy of this.

I'm still loving this series. I felt bad for Rose. However, it's what needed to happen for Drew to be happy. It's not the greatest way to start a relationship but it worked for them.

I enjoy the Slapshot series A LOT! I'm super sad that the next installment will be the last (unless Heather changes her mind!) but am still excited to read the next one! Maybe she won't give up hockey romances and will create another hockey universe!
