Pet shop owner, Will Sullivan is considering becoming a private investigator at the urging of his girlfriend, Sarah and the encouragement of Patty Mayhew, the chief of police in his coastal hometown of Seaview Rock, Maine. Opening the pet shop one morning they find a newborn kitten with only three paws on the front doorstep. Of course, Sarah and Rowdy, Will's rescue dog, adopt the kitten on the spot. As Will hems and haws about going to school for his PI license, a local mechanic is found murdered while working on a car at his home. When his best friend, Sammy, confides that he fears that he may be the next victim and wants Will to investigate, he has no choice but to investigate. When Will accidentally discovers that Sammy is blackmailing members of the town council to push thru improvements in the town, that will help bring more tourists and shops to the area he starts to worry about what Sammy has gotten himself into. Will's ex-wife is now close friends with Sarah which is leaving Will a little out of his comfort zone. When he ends up having to involve her in his murder investigation, they find that someone is skimming money from the elderly owner of the local repair shop who also, employed the murder victim. The characters are well drawn and the pet shop background in a seaside town makes for some interesting story lines, with well thought out murder plots. Will is learning to spread his wings and take his life in new directions. The animals always provide us with laughs. This is a fun and entertaining series that will delight both animal and cozy mystery lovers!

Each book in this series is better than the last. I really like these characters and particularly enjoyed getting to know a little more about them. The mystery was interesting with a few surprises that turn up along the way. I suspected who the culprit was but I enjoyed the journey the main character took to unravel the clues. I can't wait to read what happens next.

Great cozy!
I have been a fan of this series since it came out and each book is as great as the one before it. It's kind of unique in the main character, Will, Is a man. The characters are already well developed but I would say especially with this book we see more of them and to say things are getting interesting would be an understatement. The setting of a coastal town in Maine is perfect. The pet store adds a lot too since the animals are lovable, well most of them are until this book, and truly are characters. This book too adds to Sarah and Karen's budding relationship which I think is extremely interesting. The length is good but short enough to keep me on the hook for the next book to come out.

Entertaining
This is a cute little cozy series. I enjoy the characters and the interaction between them all. The pet shop setting is fun as well. And let's not forget Rowdy or his new friend Basket.

Besides cute dogs there are cute cats as well. Can't go wrong by that. Another good book with twist and turns along the way. Can not wait to see what's in store in the next book.

At the request of his best friend Sammy, Will looks into the murder of a local mechanic. What appears to be an accident has Sammy sure that fool play has occurred and he may be the next victim. When Will asks Sammy for an explanation he is left with more questions and Will is not receiving answers. What will begins to uncover leaves him shocked at what has been occurring right before his eyes...or behind his back.
The latest book in The Pet Shop mystery series has set up an interesting story line. This tension adds a deeper element to the series. The character of Sammy is beginning to develop more and his relationship with Will is changing ever so slightly. As always, this book is filled with great characters. The actions flows at a nice, steady pace. The relationship between Will and Sarah continues to deepen. I look forward to the next book and more of this story.

I liked this one, but it has a different feel to it than the previous books. I'm still really enjoying Will and Karen trying to get along, especially know that Sarah is trying to force Will to give Karen a chance. I'm just not really sure that I liked the mystery that much, and the ending was just weird.

Great Book, Cliffhanger Ending!
Will is back investigating a murder and Sara is tending to the pet shop and adopting a little kitty to keep Rowdy the pet shop dog.
In this the fourth book in this highly entertaining series, there is much less focus on the shop and animals in general. While that worked for this book my hope going forward is that there can be a middle ground.

Friendships
When there is a murder and your best friend comes to you for help, what do you do? The easy answer is help. That's where Will finds himself right in the middle of a murder investigation. He has to find out who killed the mechanic before someone kills his friend or so he thinks. Blackmail and extortion never go hand in hand and almost always doesn't end well.

Cats and Snakes and Murders, Oh My!!
The pet shop gets a new mascot , or rather Will and Sarah do, --a three legged whom they same Basket. Enter Karen, Sarah's beasties and Will's e, wife. Add. A dash of Sammy, Will's best friend and you have complicated mess of a murder. My kudos to Will. I would have been a screaming idiot if my girl friend became BFF's with my e, wife!! Watch the fun unfold.

A mechanic friend of Will Sullivan's is murdered and his friend Sammy asks him to investigate. Sammy thinks he might be next. While working on the case, Will mulls over whether or not he wants to become a private investigator. I am really enjoying this new series.
