Winnie thinks she has the perfect life.

Two beautiful, healthy children. A police officer husband. A job that she loves. Oh, and let’s not forget that she’s a nationally ranked marathon runner.

Fast forward six months, and her perfect life has imploded.

Winnie finds herself in a completely new world, and this new world is a brutal bitch.

In this new life of hers, her husband is gone. He realizes, at the worst possible time, that he’s no longer in love with her. He’s in love with her best friend. He leaves, and doesn’t look back.

Her sixteen-year-old daughter is in trouble with the law, and she’s barely making ends meet thanks to losing the job that was keeping her and her tiny family afloat.

Then, the last thing that could make it all bearable, her running, is ripped out from under her, too. Thanks to a spinal stroke that leaves her unable to walk, let alone run, she’s having to relearn how to do the simplest of tasks—such as putting on her own pants.

She’s at the lowest of lows, and the last thing she wants is a sexy, bearded, motorcycle riding alpha to tell her how to live her life.

But Steel Cross never asks her what she wants.

***

The moment Steel Cross sees Winnie’s daughter steal some shoes for her younger brother, he knows he’s in trouble.

He’s a sucker for misunderstood teens. After all, he was once one himself.

He knows he can’t just walk away, and the moment he sees that troubled teen’s mother, he doesn’t just know it, he feels it. Down to the very bottom of his soul.

With his share of hard knocks, he knows that he shouldn’t step in and make his move on a fellow police officer’s ex. There’s a code, after all, yet he just can’t seem to help himself.

He’s done being the good guy. Sometimes he just wants to be bad.

And Winnie makes him realize that being bad is still kind of good. As long as you’re with the right person.

5 “I love it when you call me Big Papa” stars!!

Seriously, if I wasn’t already a silver fox stalker, I would be after meeting Steel Cross. I fell in love with both him and Winnie from the start and the love is still felt even though I’m at the end of their story. These two gave me all the feels and I adored their slow but intense development.

Winnie’s life had hit the shitter. Her husband left her for her best friend and had ruined her reputation. And she’s solely responsible for her two kids. Thanks dead beat. And she’s still recovering from a spinal stroke. Struggling to find two pennies to rub together, she’s totally unprepared for the awesomeness that was Steel. He was an older man, absolutely gorgeous, The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC prez… oh and the Chief of Police. But his life, at least his romantic life, left a lot to be desired. His ex won’t leave him or his family and friends alone and he’s not ready to give one more piece of his heart away. So what happens when he just can’t help himself?

This story was so beautiful. Despite the tension that erupted due to a serial rapist on the loose, the drama between Steel and Winnie was almost non-existent in context. Her teenage daughter gave them a hard time, but it was pretty normal stuff. I loved the way Steel helplessly inserted himself into their lives, to the point that it was hard to picture him not being there. He stepped into a role that was desperately waiting to be filled and it happened so seamlessly. I’m still pretty new to Lani Lynn Vale’s world of amazing characters, but if she hadn’t already made me into a fan, Law and Beard would have done the job ;)

4.75 ‘Silver Fox Prez’ Stars

Holy mother of SILVER FOXES!

After All the silver fox awesomeness that was Silas, I thought Lani Lynn Vale wouldn’t be able to give us a silver fox up to his level, well, guess I was dead wrong! Steel Cross -most kickass name EVER, btw - was the top Silver Fox to top all the MC Presidents!
Minnie was just as amazing and strong and the kids... WOW!

Now my mind was lost for an altogether different reason.
I knew that Steel was older. Hell, it was hard to miss the silvering gray hair, and the way his beard was more gray than brown at this point.
But I hadn’t really realized how in shape he was—now I knew differently. Steel was just that…steel.

Ah, Steel… Yes, I too, like Minnie, refuse to call him Big Papa in regards to him as a romance hero. Steel Cross is too magnanimous of a name not to be used! Everyone that followed this series, know that Steel is a giver, through and through.

But I was not one who didn’t give it his all.

Not just due to his age and position either in job or the MC, but because he’s a natural papa bear! He takes care of everyone, and when he crosses paths with Winnie and her kids, there is no doubt that no one needs more helps than this broken woman.

She was under my skin, and I didn’t know what to do about it.

The intense attraction.
This feelings that I had for Steel?
They had the potential to be overwhelming.

Both are instantly attracted, but given their pasts, and their present complicated lives, they believe it’s best to ignore the pull. However, Steel, like the protector and giver he is, couldn’t resist lending a hand to the struggling mother, even if meant just guiding her daughter. He couldn’t just not interfere, and little by little he becomes a standing feature, a leaning shoulder to Winnie. With this proximity came of course the strengthening of their magnetism, until they couldn’t deny it any longer and just gave in.

I couldn’t help that my body was attracted to his, drawn to him like a magnet.

She was what my body craved, and who the hell was I to deny her anything?

Though, giving into sexual attraction and opening up one’s heart to their potential is another thing. And Steel and Minnie were fully aware of the immense baggage they each brought into to a new relationship. Yes, this were complicated, they just had to come to terms with it, and realize that their lives were already too intertwined.

Maybe I needed to show him that we didn’t have to make it more complicated than it already was.
Maybe we should uncomplicate things.

“Careful.” I looked up to find Fender standing next to me now.
“About what?”
“I see you falling.”
I blinked.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I hedged.
There was no falling. I’d already fallen. I was literally head over heels in love with the man, and there wasn’t a single thing I could do about it.

It was amazing to read about characters with such a mature approach on life. Sure, he’s fifty-three and she’s twenty years younger, but in more ways than one, either by life’s pushes, or being an old soul, Minnie was just as mature as him, and I never once felt this big age, other than when it was directly mentioned. Hell, I’m all for this big age difference when the man is someone like Steel: alpha to the core, silver fox sexy as hell, and a softie at heart! And swoon-worthy! Did I not mention how dreamy he was?!

Winnie was the perfect fucking eraser. My eraser.
She was the only person in my life who brought me peace.

She didn’t demand anything of me. She listened to me, and she paid attention. She soothed and calmed me. She comforted and cherished me. No one else in my life, past or present, gave me all of that.
Winnie was it—she was the woman I’d been searching for.

Yep, I fell head over heels for the man. Steel and Silas really are at the top of my All Time FAV Silver Foxes! Minnie hit the jackpot with this one, and after all the horror and pain her ex put her trough, she more than deserved being loved by someone like Steel. Even the hardest fighters need to be cared for and loved. They are that for one another, soulmates.

It was so absolutely kickass to see all the secondary characters, all the women and men from the previous books of the series, all the Dixie Warden Rejects family – specially Sean and his interactions with his dad’s new family, and his new sister, lol – but also bittersweet because with Steel Cross, Big Papa’s HEA, we are also saying goodbye to one of LLV fav series. I LOVE this Rejects and will miss them all, but I’m 100% sure that Lani Lynn Vale will give us a lot of glimpses into this awesome gang in her upcoming books. So not really a goodbye, even with golden finish, but a see you later!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I didn’t think that I would find something like that again. And I didn’t find that same happiness again. Because this, what you and I share, isn’t something that I ever had before with anyone. This is something totally different, new and pure. Sometimes, when I wake up in the morning by your side, I can’t believe that this is my life.”
He smoothed back my hair. “This is our life, baby. Better get used to it.”

This book is all kinds of delicious. I need to go find me an older alpha cause lord Steel is yummy.
I loved big papa and Winnie's story! Seamlessly written to perfection with a little of everything this story just ticked all my boxes. Everything just fit so perfectly and they slid into each others life's seamlessly. Such well grounded and fantastically developed characters. The balance was spot on. The plot was set up well and executed to fictional perfection. I loved hearing from old faces and the sneak peaks into possible futures..... Conleigh & Link!!!! I cannot wait for that.

Alas this book was a delight and I'm gutted I've finished it.

She is 32yrs old and he is 54yrs old

The H's SON is OLDER than the h!!

The reason why I don't like big age gaps is because it ruins the 'happily ever after' - all I picture is the heroine outliving the hero

In this case by the time the h is 50yrs old the H would be 72yrs old!

Also, a pet peeve of mine is heroines getting pregnant at 16 (not by the hero!) and then moan about how hard it is...well no one forced you to have sex! so you have to live with the consequences and stop moaning about it!

Here I go again, another book by Lani Lynn Vale that I absolutely LOVED!  I feel like I should let one of our other reviewers have a chance to

I’ve been waiting for sexy, sweet, silver fox, Big Papa for what seems like ever!  The wait was entirely worth it!!!  Big Papa has always been around, he’s like the favorite uncle, looking out for and taking care of everyone in his life.  He is a badass, a law enforcement officer, the president, of a motorcycle club, totally alpha, tender and caring, all wrapped up in one sexy as hell package! He has had his share of relationship issues and never planned to be in a meaningful relationship again, much less with a younger woman with 2 children.

Winnie – I am absolutely in love with Winnie! She has gone through a life threatening medical trauma and is still recovering from it, during which her husband and her best friend started having an affair. Winnie is such a strong single mother, doing the absolute best she can to provide for her teenage daughter and 5 yr old son, it’s a struggle because her ex-husband is not paying his child support. Conleigh and Cody are a handful, Conleigh in the teenage girl who’s hormones are out of whack and Cody in the most precocious and hilarious ways, this boy has thousands of useless, random facts he spouts off, my favorite is the bee sex fact….just read it you will LOL.

Winnie and Big Papa live across the street from each other and have been secretly appreciating the other. They are finally officially brought together because of one of the kids and the sparks immediately fly! There is a lot that goes on in Law and Beard, all exciting and engaging I was flipping through the pages as fast as I could to read what was going to happen next. I LOVE Big Papa’s relationships with Conleigh and Cody, plus Conleigh and Sean’s banter (Big Papa’s adult son). I LOVE all things Law and Beard!!!! I could’ve easily read another 500 pages about Big Papa, Winnie, Conleigh, Cody, Sean and everyone!!!  I honestly can’t say what I loved most about this book since the drama, humor, sexy times, chemistry and romance were strong and evenly paced, making this an excellent and fun romance!

This has all the earmarks of a story I should love. Motorcycle men are a literary secret crush, but I wasn't feeling it between the two although I loved Big Papa.

Yum, a grey fox and a beard.
Maybe later.

This is the first time I have read this author’s Dixie Warden Rejects MC books and I have been missing out. I have read a couple of her other books from different series and genre and I should have known that I wouldn’t be disappointed.

I love a story with a strong alpha silver fox. Steel, I am going to refer to him as that because I have a hard time calling him Big Papa, as does the heroine Winnie. He is a character with a larger than life presence and he is genuinely a great guy. His is not only the President of the Dixie Wardens Rejects MC, he is also Chief of Police. As Winnie’s neighbor, he sees her struggle and his encounters with her 16-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son, just made him that much more attractive to me. Even though he is older than Winnie, the attraction and chemistry between the two is through the roof.

Winnie is a great character with a lot of spirit and she fiercely loves her children. She is a fighter working through her spinal stroke to get back on her feet and provide for her family, since her ex is useless. Her ex is a real creep and I wish someone would punch him! There is some suspense involved that added to story. It started a little slow for me but boy it picked up and held me captive. There is also humor, which I love!

This is truly a terrific book. It has more about the couple than the MC, but the MC does play a role in the plot. Give this book a read, you won’t be disappointed.

I loved this book form beginning to end I was hooked on this book. I was so glad we got Big Papa's book he deserved his happy ending and I love that he got it and who he got it with. If I was being picky I would say I wish we had gotten more time to see what happened to the heroines ex, you know it's always nice to see their downfall and he deserved it more than anyone but I really I just loved this one. It was one of those books that you don't know what to read once your done because you it so much.

Omg ! Omg ! Omg! Loved loved this one !This is definitely one of my favorite reads so far in this MC series.Storm had me totally in love with him from the very first pages. This story had an amazing cast of characters from the main characters themselves to Winnie's children's.

I love stories like this a lot as they just make you warm and fuzzy inside.I have to say that my heart broke for Winnie from first meeting her and the struggles she was enduring on top of trying to recover from a spinal stroke.I never heard of such a thing so I needed to look it up and after reading about it it gave me even more insight into what challenges Winnie faced and top of it all trying to care for a teenager and a small child who had set backs himself. With all that she had to cope with she still kept it together just made me love her more.Going from a renowned marathon runner to barely able to walk never seemed to get the best of her she never wallowed in self pity she just fought harder and harder to get back to the way she was before the stroke. What an amazing women!

I always pick a favorite character in a story and I have to say that this time around it was extremely hard but I am picking Storm but, in my mind there were so many favorites.Storm was just so love-able,sweet,kind,sexy,stern and rough around the edges, dangerous with just his presence and looks but, he was also a marshmallow inside along with having one very large heart.I loved how he handled Conleigh from the onset of meeting her right away he saw more to her than a delinquent he saw a troubled teen who he wanted to help set back on the right path.I loved the banter back and forth between these too along with forging and instant connection and a certain kind of trust.I just loved how he took to Cody and never got annoyed with all his random facts that constantly came from the little boys mouth but, seemed keenly interested and in awe.My heart melted when he gave Cody the man talk.I laughed out loud along with finding myself falling in love with him even more.Storm needed these kids just as much as they needed him as he was going through a bit of a rough patch himself.

I loved this sweet romance that was filled with chemistry, the scorching looks, the heat that sizzled between Storm and Winnie.I loved the easiness that they had between them.I loved that Storm became the father figure for two lonely children without even realizing he was doing just that and mended a broken women just by loving her and his deeds alone.Storm maybe easy on the eye and level headed but, when someone messes with his family all bets are off and we see what just lurks beneath the surface and that is a deadly dangerous predator!

Cody Winnie's sons was just so adorable and cute and I loved him always spilling his random facts especially spouting from a 5 year old.Precious!Love how he took to Storm like a duck to water and that Storm being so much older never fazed him he just saw Storm as a buddy.

Conleigh broke my heart as you new she suffered from her parents break up and Matt her stepfather's betrayal. She was hurting acted out irrationally and even dangerously.I loved how she unloaded some of her burdens on Storm and the friendship she created with him putting her trust in him there first chance meeting.Feeling the warm and fuzzies here..I loved the closeness she had with her brother Cody the sweetness and kindness she always showed him.The typical teen with defiance but just as love-able as her brother.

Winnie for me just was women to admire and you couldn't help but love and she had so many great qualities.I found her to be filled with kindness one of the sweetest people yet bold, brave, determined who loved her family fiercely and was willing to lay down her own life for the ones she loves.

This really was a very emotional touching story that went straight to your heart infused with pain, suffering, betrayals, overcoming the odds infused with a bit of drama and suspense surprises and Happily Ever Afters and we loved it from cover to cover.

I love when you can connect with the characters that you read about and I did just that making it even a more of an enjoyable story. My favorite part of the story would have to be when Storm realized that love meant more to him than a age difference and took just what his heart desired and had always desired not just his women but the children he was meant to love and call his own.

Favorite scene in the entire book would have to be the breakfast scene between Storms Son,daughter in-law and grand-daughter interacting with his current ready made family the entire scene made me laugh as well as smile and I loved it!

For me the author created the perfect surprise ending to such and endearing love story that we enjoyed imensely.Lets just say it left me crying as well as laughing just the perfect mix.

5 stars

A personal note: I have loved each and every story that I have read so far by this author and I am so looking forward to other books in this series and well as her other works she creates for us.

I must confess that the biggest draw of this book was the author. When I singed up to review this for my blog, I didn’t read the blurb, I didn’t see the cover…I knew nothing about the book. I just knew that Lani Lynn Vale wrote it and therefore, I was 99.9999999% certain that I was going to enjoy it.

So, when I actually saw the cover, and then read the blurb, I was nervous. I started having doubts. I’m not a huge fan of books with great age differences. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I don’t care about age differences, but at the same time, daddy books just don’t appeal to me. And with the 20+ years between Steel and Winnie, I was worried that’s what it was going to become.

But, I should have trusted Lani Lynn Vale because it wasn’t like that. Yes, there were a few jokes about the age difference and him wanting her to call him Big Papa (like everyone else does) and he does this while in bed and it was a NO moment…than god Winnie agreed with me. Steel didn’t feel old, and Winnie didn’t feel excessively young. They actually seemed pretty well matched. I loved them together.

I loved how Steel just seemed to get caught up in her life and the lives of her kids and he just seemed to fit. They all seemed to fit. And from there things grew and they had an awesome relationship.

I found the suspense part of the book well done. It was played out perfectly and built gradually throughout the book. I will admit that I wish that Winnie hadn’t run from Steel. I just wish she’d been braver and fought for what she wanted. After everything she’d been through, it just seemed odd that she’d cut and run on him.

I have one more confession, and it’s kind of stupid but I have to get it out…I LOVE the covers of Lani’s books. I mean, have you seen them!? All that eye candy! However, with that said…I really didn’t care for this book cover. It was a nice image and all that but to me, it didn’t fit Steel. At least not how I’d been picturing him in all the other books.

So, the takeaway on this…totally worth reading and it was awesome!

I’m surprised I liked it and giving it 4 stars

Why am I surprised?
20+ age difference
55(?) year old Hero
The usual down on her luck LLV heroine (at least she doesn’t have a super tortured past this time)
Heroine made the first move
And I am side-eyeing the fact that at the end of the book, heroine has 3 kids from 3 different men (sure, last one is from the Hero

But the book works for me, it was funny and romantic in the right places. Why can’t LLV consistently write like this? Coz I hated the other books she has recently released and there are others that I would not touch at all.

5 SMOOCHES!

Lani Lynn Vale’s writing, characters and fictional worlds are definitely a comfort for me. I easily get lost in her stories, and I can envision the places and people so readily. But of all of Vale’s many series, the Dixie Warden Rejects series has become one of my favorites of hers. I’ve been anxiously awaiting Big Papa’s story since she introduced this character, and his story was totally worth the wait. She brought the feels, the fire and the funny in Law & Beard, and it’s not only my favorite story of the series, but it’s landed on my short list for one of this year’s top favorite reads.

Big Papa was absolutely everything I love about a silver fox. He was confident and commanding without being domineering. A strong, steady and patient presence in Winnie and her kids' lives, he was also caring, loyal and so very sexy. I loved the way he was with Winnie’s kids, especially her daughter, Conleigh. It was impossible not for me to root for Winnie right from the start. Strong in her own right, this resilient single mother was the perfect heroine for this man. There was plenty of suspenseful drama, and Vale effortlessly blends that with her trademark brand of humor, some alpha man romance and a fair amount of heat into Steel and Winnie’s beautiful love story.

Law & Beard was the perfect cap off to what was a riveting, exciting and sexy series about every day heroes and the women who love them. As much as I’ve loved this story, and all the stories that preceded it, I’m just as distraught that this marks the finale for this fantastic series. Five smooches from me for Law & Beard by Lani Lynn Vale!

Lawd...Lani had me at "He was wearing a tight pair of Wrangler jeans that fit him like a glove.

*THUD*

Hellooo new neighbor with your Wrangler jeans and your belt that held a big black gun on your hip and next to that big black gun was a gold shield!!!! kill me now lol

Law And Beard is now my fav book by Lani Lynn Vale. lol I just fell in love with this Dixie Warden, ohhh yeahhh along with wearing those Wrangler jeans, big gun and gold shield, he is also President of the Dixie Wardens motorcycle club!! Goodnesss..sooo much HAWTNESS in one book!!

OK, sooo back to Hello neighbor..Winnie moves into the house across the street from Mr. Hottie. She is a single mom, trying to keep her kids wrangled in after a nasty divorce. She works very hard and has a very hard time trying to make ends meet since her ex doesn't help her with anything.

Mr. Hottie keeps having a run in with Winnie's teenage daughter doing things she shouldn't be doing so he keeps bringing her home to her momma and this is how they meet up, start off as a sort of friendship. He sees through Winnie's toughness and sees a woman who really could use some help although she doesn't want the help. He is very persistent and good grief I fell in love with him!! He is such a great man!!

Law And Beard is full of MC drama, which I LOVE, keeps you turning those pages wanting, needing to find out what is going to happen next!!

I gave Law And Beard 5 Smoken Hawt iScream Cones!! This is the 8th book in this series and really each are standalones...But if you have the time, read them all because they all have been some fan-dam-tastic reads!!!
Thank you for another great book Lani!!!

Winnie thought she had a happy life with her husband and kids but when she got sick he left her and the kids. He has been a bit of a deadbeat, but Winnie is not a one to wallow in self pity and does the best she can. When her daughter begins to cause trouble and Big Papa has to intervene it pushes him closer to Winnie.

Big Papa has loved and lost and Winnie is quite a bit younger then him. He knows he wants Winnie but he is not willing to go there. However fate has a different plan and when the attraction gets to be too much to deny, Big Papa and Winnie act on it. Can they build something together for the future even though the odds are against them?

Out of all the characters in the Dixie Warden Rejects books I was so glad to see Big Papa get his own book. He was always a bit of a mystery and I savored every minute of his story. Really enjoyed Winnie, she was a very different heroine and inspiring. Excellent read.

*sighs* hold on. Give me a second here. *hisses at anyone claiming Papa Bear for their own* hands off people, this man is mine! I licked it, i claims it! I wish it were that easy to claim/kidnap/have/keep... ummmm, stalk?!?! Papa Bear. This man. Wow. I knew there was a reason why he needed his own book and i'm so glad that Lani Lynn Vale decided to bring back her Dixie Warden Rejects series for one last time to give her readers the much wanted story of who Steel Cross truly is as the man, the MC president and police officer.

I wish i could have this man embodied for my own - not for the previous reasons, but really, this author has made his way too good to be true. He just seems larger than life and when it comes to Winnie, he just.. well, he bends over backwards to help her. Seriously, who does that anymore?! I haven't witnessed this type of behaviour or selflessness in so long that it almost feels foreign. One of the things that i need to commend Lani Lynn Vale is how much research goes into her works.

Winnie, for how young she is, walks around sometimes with a walker, others with a cane and so other times, struggling to stand upright but too 'pigheaded' to give up and use her 'helpers'. The reason why really got me curious on what happened to this woman. I mean, she's young, has young children and even works in the medical profession; and it doesn't take long to find out why, and this author does it in such a way that you really understand the how and the why.

The biggest problem i had with this book was my timing - hell. I had just finished a book at 9.30 pm and then my genius idea was to read a few chapters and keep reading the next morning. I should have known better. I fell asleep 4 hours later after finishing the book because 'one more chapter' ended up being 'one more book'. It was that good. I couldn't get enough and personally, i don't know who'se story we'll get next (alright, i do know, but stil), and i don't know how Lani Lynn Vale will make it just as memorable as these characters of the Dixie Warden Rejects.

Solid book up until the end where the author pulls a classic martyr heroine move, and the h has to sacrifice her happiness for everyone else. Sorry, but that’s overused and doesn’t make their inevitable reunion any better. Other than the ending the first 85% was solid. Was it the best by LLV? No, but better than some of the other stuff she’s been putting out lately.

This book was ok, but take my three stars with a grain of salt. I think the reason I didn’t like it that much is because I don’t think this authors writing style is for me. Every book I read by her, just doesn’t sit right with me, it seems so bizarre.

I read some books in this series, and they are good, but I missed on few before Law & Beard. But when I saw cover and then read the blurb, I knew I had to oneclick it and read it ASAP, without catching up. I'm not dissapointed. I really enjoyed this one. I got easily into the story from the beginning. It just flowed for me. I liked both Steel and Winnie. Theirs romance was beautiful and sexy. I felt theirs connection.
And being into this world again, I'm itchy to do catch up now.

I never thought someone could top or even equal Silas Mackenzie and his alpha Silver Fox demeanor, but Steel ‘Big Papa’ Cross gives Silas a run for his money…first, because Steel has such a badass biker name and second, because of the way he treats people, especially those he cares about and/or simply feels the need to help because that’s the type of man he is. Steel may think that he’s too old and too jaded for his beautiful neighbor, Winnie Holyfield, but he’s just the kind of guy she needs to help put her broken heart and body back together and show her exactly what the ‘right’ man can bring to her life and the lives of her children.

Because Big Papa is the President of the Dixie Warden Rejects and the Chief of Police in Mooresville, Alabama, readers have spent a lot of time getting to know him in the previous 7 books in the series, and even though he’s been a secondary character in all of those books, through the main characters’ interactions with BP and his actions/decisions when it comes to the motorcycle club and his officers on the force, it’s easy to acquire a mostly clear picture of who Steel is, what/who he values, and what he’s willing to do for those he considers his family.

Winnie Holyfield doesn’t want to be destroyed by another man; in fact, she’s still dealing with the battle scars from her ex-husband, so she tries to fight her pull to Steel and the lust she has for her hot as hell neighbor, even though it seems like an inevitability on both sides due to Steel’s need to understand his single mom neighbor and the fact that Winnie has gotten more than underneath his skin. It’s clear that neither of them can walk away from each other once they give into their feelings, but they might not have a choice when the maelstrom circling both of their lives looks to destroy everything Steel and Winnie are building, perhaps doing irrevocably harm to them and to those who love and depend on them.

Law & Beard is a story full of drama, family issues, a bit of suspense and a whole lot of laughter, steam, and sweet. I ADORE the kind of man that Steel is and the fact that Winnie never gave up, even when her life imploded, says a lot about the type of woman she is and what she wants her children to understand about life, love, and commitment. Lani Lynn Vale keeps introducing readers to incredible alpha males and the strong women who stand by their side, regardless of the shitstorm that tries to take over their lives and believe me, there have but a shitload of storms weathered by these bikers and their old ladies!

5+++++++++

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

I freaking loved this book. I can't express how much i love this series <3 So when i received this ARC i was like, oh Yes... Big Papa is here!!! <3

Sean "Big Papa" Steel is the president of the Dixie Wardens Rejects and the chief of police and his life is freaking complicated enough with an ex wife and ex girlfriend and the club and the police force he doesn't have time for anything else in his life. But when he meets Winnie and her kids and even though he doesn't want to get involved he can't help but save Winnie's daughter and then he can't help but wanting the mother too.

Winnie fresh out of her divorce with an ex who is a total douche who slept with her ex-best friend and haven't seen his kids in a while. So she doesn't want to get involved with another man, but when she sees Big Papa she can't help but want to get up close and personal with this silver fox. But Winnie is already hurt emotionally and physical after she had a spinal stroke and she's learning to walk again. Her focus is her kids and getting back to her self again. But she can't help herself and she doesn't want to either. But can she convince Big Papa that he needs her. And on top of all their personal issues there is a danger out there that they didn't even know about yet either.

Big Papa finally finds the one women that is meant for him and I loved this ride. No denying that they were perfect for each other and once the Big guy decided there was no turning back he was all in. Loved their relationship, loved how he took care of her kids without making it known and loved that she didn't let him push her away. Laughter emotions angst and just some awesome moments. I seriously hope there is more where this came from

Love, family and the best of heartaches…

As usual I dived right into the latest read by this author with no thought to time, day of week or the grown up stuff I was supposed to be doing! “Big Papa” was getting his story and I wasn’t waiting any longer….

“I didn’t want to feel like this about her.”

Nurturer, protector. These are words that fit both Steel and Winnie. Winnie’s kids were her everything and she was doing all she could to keep their broken family together - physically, emotionally, all ways. When her daughter runs into trouble and brings Steel right to her door they knew nothing could come of the attraction. Their heads knew but their hearts had different ideas…

“She was under my skin…”

And that’s where the real fun begins. There were real life struggles, lots of them, but just like in real life there were happy moments too. Especially discovering love, even if you thought you couldn’t have it. Even sweeter when you felt you didn’t deserve it. Winnie was a mama bear and so much more. Steel was this amazing man of strength and empathy. He got her kids, he got her. Put it all together and it was romance with a capital ‘R’!

With the usual wonderful mix of humour, emotion, family and kick-butt love, this story lived up to all my hopes and expectations. Another read for the ‘pick me up’ shelf!

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this one. I had been wanting this story so long. I should have known I wouldn't be disappointed with this author.

First of all you take Steel Cross add to that Big Papa and you immediately are taken in. Then add to that Winnie and her badass self you know EVERYONE needs this effing book!!!!

Talk about a swoon worthy older man!!! But the part that me balling like a baby was at the end. Yep that's how I'm leaving it run along now and get this book!!!
