Absinthe

Ghosts in the Machine

Rate this book
When Evan stumbles over the photo essay of abandoned Detroit, complete with the picture of a shattered, haunted hotel room, he's plunged headlong into a mystery. At the very edge of the photo, he can just make out the face of a beautiful, frantic young man reflected in the shards of a broken mirror.

After a restless night, Evan flies to Detroit to find a stranger who may not exist in a hotel that may no longer be standing. What he finds in the crumbling hotel are ghosts of the living and the monsters still feeding on their essence. But along with the terror, he finds a chance at absolution for a past error -- and the hope of passion for the future.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

I liked the plot, but the book can stand more editing. Dialog and sequence of events were not always clear. I found myself confused more than once.
