Longing
It's been two months since Allegra walked out of Devlin's hotel room. Well, two months and five days, but she's not counting. She needs to move on, but before she can, Devlin shows up again...as her new coworker. Seeing him at work every day is enough to make her lose her mind. Lilly Avalon really knows how to tell a story. I mean she just takes you for one bit of happiness to another and then moves on you with shocking surprises that you just would not believe are actually going down! This is the work of a writer that knows just how to make her readers fall in love with her work! Yep, you read that right! I was just head over heels into Longing. At first, I wasn't sure that I could move with it. This is the bad thing about me and reading, I always like to understand the characters a bit before reading the entire book. I am the type of person that likes to really delve into who they are. So, this is why if you have read my reviews in the past, I am always writing such and so and so gives depth to their characters etc. But you know, with this book Avalon blows me away in depth! Her writing makes me feel like I have known the main characters forever. Devlin, OMG he is my new book boyfriend. Avalon has outdone herself with this one and of course I know she knows it! He is a dream guy come true, one with gorgeous eyes and a beautiful way to make the love come singing right out of you. Now, who could want for more? Shame on me, I forgot to mention the other main character Allegra. Well, you will learn more about her character when you read it. Ahhh, that Devlin...............mmmm those eyes!
I rate this book FIVE great big stars and hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Let me tell you though, there were parts in this book that made me smile from ear to ear and that means someone did something just right! Lilly you are a spectacular writer and I am sure you know it!

Longing by Lilly Avalon is the steamy sequel to Resist. Allegra and Devlin’s journey unexpectedly continues as he relocates. She is completely taken by surprise when she sees him at work. The chemistry between them is overwhelming.
The chapters are short and fast paced. The dialogue is well written giving each character a strong and distinct voice. The plot continues to revel Allegra’s world—her layers are brilliantly exposed. Ms Avalon shows the reader that Allegra and Devlin truly care for each other via their words, their actions and their undeniable passion.
Allegra needs to empty her ‘vault’ of pain and move forward unconditionally. Allegra is a female given name of Italian origin meaning joy (happy) or lively. Is she able to live up to the meaning of her beautiful name? Does she have enough faith in her relationship with Devlin to really believe that it is the ‘real thing’? The reader will love their journey and will not want their story to end—just yet!

In the last installment of Allegra's and Devlin's story, we were left hanging as Allegra left Devlin alone in the hotel room after their one night together. Its been 2 months and 5 days according to Allegra since she left Devlin in that hotel room. Although all she wants to do is forget that night, her mind keeps coming back to all the thoughts of that passionate night she shared with Devlin.

In Lilly Avalon’s Resist, we got a taste of Allegra and Devlin’s story. The chemistry between them sizzled on the pages, but I was left wanting more. I wanted to know more about Allegra - her past, her motives, and her reason for running. I was sure there could be more between these two, so I was thrilled when I found out Lilly was writing a continuation of Allegra and Devlin’s story, and that it would be a full-length novel.
There’s so much to love about Longing. Allegra is smart, sassy, and snarky. Devlin is basically sex on legs, but there’s surprising depth to him that made me love him. Together, these characters are something special. Their interactions ranged from sexy to sweet to heartwarming to giggle inducing.
Allegra’s growth through the novel amazed me. I felt like I was watching a friend who kept tripping over the crap life threw at her, but also kept getting up and fighting. I was so proud of her. She learned a lot through the course of the book - some of it on her own, some of it with the help of her best friend, and some of it with Devlin’s help.
I loved that while Longing is categorized as erotic romance, it had so much depth to it. There were plenty of sexytimes, but there was also a lot of character growth and real life situations that were relatable. Sexy, funny, romantic, and emotional, Longing is another winner from Lilly Avalon!

This is the follow on book to Resist, and takes up some time later after Allegra walked away from Devlin after their one night together.
I have to say Ms Avalon writes passion well and makes the feelings that each character is feeling very believable. The course of true love never runs smooth but you can’t help hoping that it will work out in the end for these two.
Devlin is very honest with his feelings towards Allegra but she always seems to have an inner dialogue convincing her that she’s not to fall in love or give in to her feelings. At times I just wanted to shout at her to give in and go with the flow and not to look for problems where there needn’t be any!
After the hotness in book one, I was expecting this book to be off the hotness scale and I certainly wasn’t disappointed! There was less sex in this book and more story but that’s because there were a lot more pages to explore their building relationship.
All in all I would recommend this book if you want to read a great story, great characters, steamy bedroom scenes and a generally feel good book.

I was so excited to read my ARC copy of Longing to see what becomes of Devlin and Allegra. The second installment of their story was touching, emotional,and an all in all love story. I kept waiting for Devlin to do something wrong, or Allegra's fears to come between them. The sex scenes were hot, the chemistry was off the charts. The turmoil seemed to come from Allegra's best friend, Sonya, and her not so perfect romance. I was absolutely happy with the ending and am so glad that Allegra and Devlin were able to get past the fears and grow in their love.

It has been 2 months since Allegra fled from Devlin’s hotel room. She still can’t get him out of head and she doesn’t understand why. They agreed to a one-night stand and that’s what happened. She can’t let him in and he told her he isn’t interested in settling down and that’s what Allegra is looking to do. Her best friend helps her set up an online profile at an internet dating site. They think that this will help her move along from Devlin. Then she gets a big surprise, she goes to work one day and guess who is there? That’s right Devlin. She figures he is just there visiting after all, his uncle is the head of this office. She soon learns he isn’t just there to visit he is working at this branch now. Allegra can’t figure out why he switched offices. Did he move for her, that’s crazy? While showing him around the office she asks him, he tells her that he will tell her in time. She is still attracted to him, she was just finally trying to move on and now he is back. At first Allegra fight Devlin tooth and nail. She has had a broken heart before and she thinks that is all she will get with Devlin. What if she gives in and after just a little bit he decides she isn’t what he really wants or decides he doesn’t want a girlfriend after all? Allegra is so worried about her heart getting heart she forgets that her heart isn’t the only one on the line. He lets Allegra know that he is still interested too. Then she is worried about if he just wants more fun in between the sheets or does he want something more. Devlin is nothing but honest and caring with her. He calls her princess. He is going to let her come to him this time. He doesn’t think so will last very long before she caves and she doesn’t. When she does cave and come to him, he lets her know he is interested in more than just a little fun in between the sheets. He wants her all of her. Will Allegra’s past ruin any future she may have will Devlin? She feels things for him that scare her. When will Allegra realize that maybe she isn’t the only one who is worried about ending up with a broken heart?
I really liked this book. Allegra spent years pinning after a boy she know from school only to wind up extremely hurt by him. She hasn’t really had another boyfriend since him. She feels like Devlin maybe that person to help her but she gets in her own way most of the time. She is always worried about what if instead of focusing on the person she is with and how they are acting. She is constantly comparing Devlin to her ex-Mercer. They are nothing alike; in fact they are total opposites. Devlin promises to never break her heart, but will she break his, while he is trying not to break hers. I felt kinda bad for Devlin through parts of the book. No matter how hard he tried he was constantly compared to this other person. He finally broke through to her though and showed her that he was different. Once she gave in and stopped fighting her feelings for him they really had a great relationship. They have an instant connection that was more that physical. They felt so comfortable with each other. Allegra realized that she found herself telling him things that she doesn’t share with anyone else and that helps her realize the Devlin in fact is different. Allegra really grows in this book. The characters in this book are great. I hope there will be more books in this series. I am hoping that maybe Devlin’s uncle Jack finds someone as well as Allegra’s best friend, maybe together.

This story is beautiful, sweet and precious. Allegra and Devlin have a strong physical attraction to each other but a one night stand just doesn't end it for them. Allegra has locked up her heart so strongly that she allows only casual encounters. When Devlin moves and begins to work where she works, she fights his every advance out of a deep fear that if she opens her heart, it could become crushed like before.
It was interesting, entertaining and a joy to watch her slowly let down her defenses and allow the walls to fall. It was refreshing to see Devlin remain true to his devotion to her and to love her quirkiness. I kept expecting him to get caught up in a compromising position on a couple of occasions but he remained faithful. I was given this beautiful story in exchange for an honest review. Five Stars.

I really needed this after reading the first book I would have been so disappointed if I didn't get to read more of Allegra and Devlin!
Book one ended with Allegra leaving poor Devlin asleep in his hotel bed, believing she wouldn't have to run into him again! How wrong was she! This story starts with Devlin relocating to Allegras firm, duh duh duh!! Allegra has no choice but to talk to Devlin and explain herself.
The chemistry between this couple is amazing we see so much more of it in this book. While it is a very hot steamy read there is still a love story for all the romantics out there! I thought it was just the right mix!
The characters go so well together while Allegra just wants to run and hide from Relationships, he has the stay power she needs to realise not all men are bad. I'm not going to spoil this for anyone just know that it is a must read!
I loved this story, and will definitely be recommending it! Five stars!!

I loved allegra and devlin in the first book, but after reading longing I have fallen more in love with this couple.
lilly avalon is is a brilliant storyteller. I love that we are reading it the book from allegras point of view and there is so much detail and emotion we can't help but be connected to her.
* think there should be a devlin POV* hint hint lol.
A few quotes from allegra that had me laughing :

I absolutely love this bird.

the friendship between Sonia and allegra is heartwarming. you can tell these two have a special friendship, truly are best friends.
The interaction made me laugh especially how blunt they are it's hilarious. They understand each other and help one another through the bad times.
This book is is a real eye opener on allegras life, her friends, family and her past and why she always runs well until now....

Finally we have Allegra and Devlin's happy ending. The ending of Resist was left off with Allegra leaving so you know that once she sees Devlin pop up at her work, she's going to have mixed feelings. And he works there!!
Longing showed a deeper insight into why Allegra is the way she is and I understood it. Her heart was broken and she didn't want it to happen again. Allegra tries to resist Devlin but it's pointless when their feelings get involved. As for the side characters, I loved Sonya! Adored her. And then BAM, something happens and I'm thrown a curve ball. Did not see that happening. Allegra's family shows up too and they're so sweet and loving. They approve of A&D. And don't forget the sex...HOT! I really enjoyed this story but I wish the ending wasn't so fast paced.
Highly recommend if you've read and enjoyed Resist.

Longing showed a deeper insight into why Allegra is the way she is and I understood it. Her heart was broken and she didn't want it to happen again. Allegra tries to resist Devlin but it's pointless when their feelings get involved. As for the side characters, I loved Sonya! Adored her. And then BAM, something happens and I'm thrown a curve ball. Did not see that happening. Allegra's family shows up too and they're so sweet and loving. They approve of A&D. And don't forget the sex...HOT! I really enjoyed this story but I wish the ending wasn't so fast paced.
Highly recommend if you've read and enjoyed Resist.

I recently discovered Lilly Avalon and can I say I'm so glad I did. I LOVE her writing!
Longing picked up two months after Allegra ran out of Devlin's hotel room. I'm so very glad I read these books together or I would have completely tripped out. Allegra comes face to face with Devlin again when he is hired at the place that she works. She is now faces with seeing him every day. Devlin still wants her.
In Longing, Lilly does an amazing job of exploring Allegra and Devlin's story in more detail. The writing is smooth and fast paced. Devlin was so stinking sexy but had depth and Allegra was smart and feisty, that the chemistry was off the charts HOT! I did get frustrated with Allegra quite a bit but by the end of the book, completely understood why. I will end with this, any person reading Longing will love their journey and NEED more just like I do!

Omg! I never doubted Longing would be amazing but...WOW. The story picks up two months after Allegra leaves Devlin asleep in the hotel room. Now they work together. Devlin is suddenly everywhere. He insists he won't hurt her or leave her. He wants a relationship. Eventually Allegra gives in.
Just like in Resist, the chemistry between these two is very sexy. I guess I understand Allegra's apprehension but Devlin is so wonderful I don't know how she was able to stay away. When Devlin said, 'I never want to wake up alone again', I literally felt my heart breaking for him. They are perfect words.
I never fail to feel so many emotions after I'm through with a Lilly Avalon book. I love everything she writes and am honored that she has gifted me a copy of her book. Thank you.

Delvin has not forgotten Allegra or the fact that she ran out on him, before morning of their one night stand.
Allegra has some issues she needs to overcome before she can truly be happy. Delvin will do whatever he can to make Allegra happy.

Well, Allegra thought she'd escaped Devlin after she walked away from him (See Resist). But as I indicated in the last review for book 1, Devlin is not a man who gives up easily. He shows up months later and she now has to work with him and see him every day. For how long can she say no to him. Devlin knows how to be tender and how to be intense. It's impossible not to love him. He wants her and she wants him, if she's honest. With time she changes and her feelings evolve as she lets go of her fears. Do they get to a happy ever after? You're going to have to read it to find out. Be prepared for more hotness.

Okey... I loved Resist, and I really loved Devlin. In this book, I still like Devlin, but I feel like this is a completly new book. Ok, characters are the same, but everything else is diferent. Allegiant was a bit anoying, and I wasn't sure does She know what she want. i loved the story, but I think I would like it even better if I didn't read first book first. And I loved the first book.

I'm happy with the way this ended. This was a happy book. The relationship with Allegra and Devlin was strong. Their chemistry is undeniable. The flow of the writing was great.

My Review: After reading Resist I was very curious as to where the storyline would take Devlin and Allegra so had to pick this one up right away. I enjoyed the development of the relationship and particularly Devlin's character development. I must say while I loved Allegra in the previous book I did not enjoy her in this book. I found the roadblock to the relationship to be a little bit of a weak excuse on her part and should not caused her as much trauma as it did in the book. I did really enjoy her family though and they made some really great sub-characters that I would love to learn more about. With all that said it was a good story with a lot more development in the story than the previous book but that certainly didn't cause a drop in the sexual tension or steam in the book.

My first instant thought whilst reading this book is - what a happy book, other than the odd hiccup between characters there really is no other way to describe this other than a happy read. It has a definite 'feel good' aura about it indeed.
I was very glad this book was longer than resist and more day to day than just the one night. I got my wish fulfilled and that makes me a happy bunny indeed. Is it bad I really want to play scrabble with Allegra as I'm a bit of a scrabble champ too ;-)
The chemistry between Allegra and Devlin is still pretty much off the charts, they really are a perfect couple for each other. Devlin laid it out there for Allegra but she had issues accepting things for what they are and that in turn had me thinking, Allegra if you don't just get on with it I'm gonna steal him out from under you!
I am very glad I've gotten to read these two book, Lilly has a good flow and deliverance of her stories and I will definitely look forward to reading more from her in the near future.

OMG!! Lilly you did it again! I LOVED the story, I LOVED Devlin and Allegra, again. You made me cry and laugh. You pulled my heartstrings and emotions. I felt like I was really there. It was great to meet the secondary characters again. Im hoping there will be more to this series. I finished the book in about 2 hours..

I so agree with all the reviews when it relates to these characters & Lilly Avalon writing.
Part II of Allegra & Devlin's love story. It's touching, emotional, & truly believable about these two people who don't want to sacrifice there successful careers, or individuality for a relationship.
Devlin & his horrible past relationship with his Ex. Turned him off of relationships, but something about Allegra has him thinking that his life as a successful millionaire isn't the only thing that matters. Him sharing his success with someone could be more important.
Unfortunately, Allegra's fears come between them. Devlin cannot work with Allegra without heartache, which is why he decides to relocate. Which made me just ache for these two soulmates. Can they both admit to their fears, about relationships & communicate together to make their dynamics work together? Even in the workplace?
Allegra's love for Devlin hasn't changed since his relocation to the other office. Instead it just gives more pain & grief to Allegra. She realizes she is better with the man then with out him.
How can she express her true emotions, without fearing she will be rejected again. Can Devlin forgive her for doubting their love. When he himself had fears from his past. Devlin was willing to take the leap & learn to a real relationship with this woman? Which is why Allegra was surprised to see Devlin at the home office. Why is he here? Will he forgive her doubts?
The chemistry between them is overwhelming. The intimate scenes were hot, erotic & YES! Off the charts.

Devlin is the nicest, swooniest man I've read in a while. His moves are hot and chill inducing. He seems right for Alleges but she's keeping secrets.
I did very much enjoy this series.
