Hello! Thank you for stopping by. The short story is I was born in Toronto, Canada. When I was 16, my family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and that is where I met my wife, Bev. We've been married for 43 years and share our home in Southwest Missouri with 4 dogs, 3 cats, 8 chickens, a herd of goats. We have 3 sons and 12 grandchildren that keep us hopping. I've been known to ride my motorcycle in nice weather, play golf in nice weather, and tend my garden in nice weather. In bad weather, I prefer to stay inside. :) Thanks to the support of you, our readers, I've been able to devote full time to my writing. Bev does our cover designs. We hope you our books are enjoyable and you'll let us know. Please feel free to contact us at: jdalglish7@gmail.com or on Facebook God Bless, John & Bev
It was good suspenseful mystery, did enjoyed the Jason and Vanessa characters. They support and help each other. Need to read this series from the beginning, do like author's writing style. Clearly he tells us, it doesn't matter what they do to make money, they are humans.
This is another entertaining detective story in the Jason Strong series. Jason and Vanessa are great characters with well developed personalities that compliment each other well. The intricacies of their live weave from one book to another and yet each story is easily read as a stand-alone. The storyline in this audiobook keeps your attention with multiple murders, a serial killer, suspense, good investigative work and characters you love. The narrator does an excellent job, he keeps the voices consistent from one book to the next and brings out the tension, worry, camaraderie and humor in the story. I will look forward to the next in the series.
DRIVEN TO KILL (JASON #17) by John Dalglish Like this book from the very start because the events and details are so descriptive I feel like I am there. Starts out with Jason Strong being paired with Vanessa Lane for the investigation of the murder victim. Thing that struck me was that locally we had some of the same things happen to ladies of the night many decades ago. Multiple murders as this story goes along with similarities among the other murder scenes involving other police agencies that compare what evidence they've collected and all the leads.. Love all the technical things that go on with the investigation and how up to date the technology is. To think this is book 17 already and I've yet to read any of the other works by this author or the series. Don't feel as if I'm missing out on any information about prior investigations Handful of characters and easy to keep track of them. What I really like is that the whole case is solved in one book-that does not go on for 600 pages. With that being said I can't wait to read more of the authors works. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end. Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
Love this series! The relationship between Jason and Vanessa gets better with each book. In this addition, it was good to see Vanessa getting back to normal after the death of her husband. Will wait with bated breath for the next in the series!
Dalglish puts Driven to Kill in the winners circle
I have given Driven to Kill a five star rating as every category I use in reviewing a book is worthy of that rating. He continues to use the characters that I'm familiar with, from the prior books in this series but it seems like we learn a little bit more about them in each new story. Mr. Dalglish is so creative. His detectives could easily get bigger down with busy work, but not in his stories. He keeps the suspense growing from beginning to end, when they finally book their man. Mrs. Dalglish creates covers that fit the story very well, encouraging readers to want to get into the story as soon as possible.
Another very perplexing case for our dynamic duo, also known as the A-Team. Young female ladies of the evening (I'm old, don't like any of the new terms, or the slang ones) are being found along the side of the highway near out of the way or rural areas. The cause of death is extremely disturbing, even for seasoned police veterans. There is very little to go on and trying to solve these cases is going to take some very strong sleuthing ad well as quite a bit of ingenuity. Frustration soon sets in, but finally a break as one of the victims is identified as having been seen a truck stop for long distance haulers. But still a very long way from solving the murders.
Well written as are all the others in this series, fast paced, and also very sad in places. Heart pounding suspense that finally all at once comes to a satisfying conclusion. A very minor quibble, I would have liked to hear the perpetrator state why he committed such heinous crimes. But then, sick minded individuals don't always give a reason why. Another excellent police procedural. 5 Giant Stars!!
A young woman is found dead, tossed like trash on the side of the interstate.
In their search for the killer, Jason and Vanessa are thrown into the unfamiliar world of big rigs and over-the-road truckers. With an ever-changing suspect list, they find themselves racing to catch a monster who is DRIVEN TO KILL.
I planned on reading this book over a few days. I couldn't. Once I started, I kept reading. Jason and Vanessa are interesting characters. Besides the case, we find out about their personal lives. They've become like old friends.
John Dalglish is a superb writer, and the covers on his books are awesome! I love his books about Jason Strong. I do the ebooks, but my hubby who only wants to turn real paper pages, needs to read these. So I need to find real paperbacks for him, as I know he would thoroughly enjoy Mr. Dalglish's books. These books are clean, but very exciting, can't put them down till done. If you havent read them, you are really missing out on some great reading!
Love to read these books. One main reason is they are clean reading. There is no bad language or sexual innuendo. I have read a number of Mr. Smallish books. I plan to read them all. I gladly let my family and friends know about this author. Thanks again...Belinda Young. Mississippi
Reading these books is so refreshing, and captivating, I don't mind that I have become addicted to Jason and Vanessa. Mr. Dalglish writes his stories so that I feel like I'm right there in the middle of the action, watching them work, and interact with their co-workers, their families, even each other. Awesome!!!
Once again I say you are one of my favorite authors, your books stick to my fingers, can't let go. I want to get to the ending to find out who's behind the killings. Kudos to you Mr Dalglish once again don't take too long for the next book. God bless, Zena
All seventeen have been enjoyable. The characters are entertaining and likable. Looking forward to many more. I like that the stories are hard to put down and are not long winded. Never boring. Ann
The storyline pulls you in the prologue and doesn’t let you out until the epilogue. It’s the dynamics of the detectives personal lives that keep you coming back.
Great book. I like the way the author can keep coming up with cases for Jason and Vanessa to solve and keep working together. I am looking forward to the next book.
These books were so good and I am definitely going to read more books by Mr. Dalglish. I appreciate that even though the characters contains hookers, the language was clean.
The only problem is they’re hard to put down. From the suspense to the intertwined relationships, it’s simply great writing; therefore, great reading. Thankyou.
