The Stone Order is under attack. Wrathful gods are closing in. Unlikely allies Petra and Jasper may be Faerie’s only hope.

After her victory in the battle of champions, Petra thought she was a step closer to freedom from her sovereign and the politics of Faerie. But when she and Jasper, son of the enemy king, are sent on a mission together, she learns the shocking truth of her own bloodline and gets drawn even deeper into Fae struggles. To complicate matters, Petra can no longer deny her feelings for Jasper.

But there’s little time for exploring the new romance. Petra and Jasper discover the rumors are true--the Fae gods who left Faerie in the hands of High King Oberon generations ago are preparing to return, and they’re planning to raze their former realm. But the High King is nowhere to be found. In the chaos of Oberon's absence, Petra’s people are left vulnerable to foreign invaders who would seize the stone fortress.

The time for diplomacy is past. Petra must find a way to protect herself, her vulnerable changeling twin sister, and her people before the angry gods close in.

Find out what fate awaits Petra, Jasper, and Faerie in STONE BLOOD LEGACY, the continuation of the new urban fantasy series for fans of Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, and Jim Butcher.

Good book!

And this is from one picky reader! Tons of thrills, romantic, without being oversexed & well drawn characters with very honest emotions.

The very first thing I have to say about this book is I think it was better than the first, and I really, really liked the first one. There was more action, we really got to know the characters more, and the plot just got even more complex. Ms. Faith really carried the complexity out well, and I can’t wait to learn more. One thing, there was a character from the Ella Grey series, which I haven’t read yet, who I would really like to get to know better. Even if she wasn’t in the series much, I’d still really like to read the series to find out all I can about her. Back to this book. I did really enjoy this book, and I appreciate the author sprinkling in events from the first book as I read so much, I sometimes can’t remember tiny details. All-around great book, and if you enjoyed the first one, you will definitely enjoy this one! Highly recommend!

Petra is named the champion, having beaten the Duehgar fighter at the end of book 1, but things get more complicated. King Periclase is not going to give up. He swears that the New Gargs stole his daughter and he wants her back. It is at this point that Oliver delivers the second blow to Petra when he reveals that, yes, it is possible that Periclase could be her father. From here, it is decided that to get him to back off, they need to determine who is the blood father of the twins, but because of the prophecy, they have to be really careful who knows that Petra is related to Nicole. She takes a leap of faith and again partners with Jasper to travel to see the one person in Faerie who could help them divine the truth of her paternity in hopes of preventing a civil war. Her people are too small to fight the Duerghar kingdom, and if the rumors are true that the Tuatha are returning, they will need all available fighters for the battle to come.

As we have come to expect with the series, Petra learns an uncomfortable truth, but so does Jasper. Like the first book, there is a bit going on. Petra still does not want to forfeit her freedom on the Earthly realm. She really hoped that being named champion, would be just that, a name and that she could return to her former life. However, things don't quite work out that way. She is suspended for missing her deadline for catching her original bounty in book 1, so to redeem herself, she is given the opportunity to partner with a human bounty hunter whose target is in Faerie. A witch with some serious mojo, and a close relationship with Ella Gray. I love the small overlap, and the intro to an ally that Petra can tap into as needed in future books. So while Petra needs to go see Melusine with Jasper, she also has a bounty she needs to complete by the deadline, fight off more attacks from the assassins that can appear suddenly and disappear just as quickly anywhere in Faerie, and help her people and sister too.

I have to admit I did not expect this to go where it did, and did start to see how this would just make Petra's life even more difficult. Her challenges just keep getting bigger and bigger. I'm on to the next book as I definitely need to see where this goes.

Wow, I enjoyed this book. It had so much action and suspense that it had you hooked from start to finish. This is book two and I do recommend you start with book one and just to let you know you will need to also get book three, but as book one and two are so good I don't think that will be a problem. It is only because the books continue from where the last book ended. The characters are fun and I like the way you never know which character you can trust.
Petra after saving her twin sister now has to travel with Jasper (the son of the man who kidnapped her sister) to visit a reclusive witch. The only witch who can prove who the twins parents are. The problem is Petra is still hoping to return to her normal life of being a bounty hunter and capturing vampires for a living but how can she balance a life of paying rent and serving her Queen. Especially when the pair learn the rumors are true the Fae God's are planning to return and take back there power and realms. All the raids and attacks was just the beginning and things are going to get a lot worse. New alliances and deals will have to be forged and friendship and loyalties will be put to the test before the day is end.
I liked the narrator. She had a good range of voices for the characters, so that you had no problems following along.

Lots of action as the characters face challenges and threats. This is a full dive into the fae world that is not usually explored enough for my tastes in books like this. Politics, diplomacy, attempted take-overs, and visits to many fae lands enrich an adventure filled story. There is even blossoming romances that don't become gratuitous sex.

There were some grammar problems but not too many to really annoy a reader. I had never read anything in this series or the Ella Grant series but was able to pick up enough knowledge easily without being lost or overwhelmed in too much retelling of what went before.

I want to see where this goes.

For me, there honestly wasn't much difference between this and the first book.
But the generic feel I already had, just became too much for me. This might be completely subjective and I can't think of another story, in particular, that is very similar to this one off the top of my head but I just lost interest.
The only thing that I could nitpick on is how incredibly arbitrary the magic is. But I never even cared enough to pay attention to plot holes, of which there are doubtless many, which shows how this story ultimately failed to engage me in any significant way.

I liked this one better then the first. More happens and we see some connections develop. I'm not a fan of my characters running around from one emergency to another and that's pretty much how they live their lives. I'd like to see more answers in the next book and not just more trouble.

I might wait for the series to be over and then start reading again.

Excellent story line, great characters to cheer for. Strong female character. Excited for more. You must pick this series to read, you will not regret it. Hard to put down read.

Still mediocre imho, predictable, shallow

I only tried #2 in the faint hope that the series would get better. It doesn't. Free is fine, but I didn't bother finishing. It's just not that interesting, many others in genre deserve your time more.

Maybe Stone title but the contents are not!

If you like strong women you will love this, smart, sassy, strong, stubborn, this is a great series and plays to my love of having another series with another back story, one of those worlds you want to stay in

So far, the series is kind of flat. Nothing particularly emotive has happened. It's quite fast pacing, too. Jasper + Petra do have chemistry, but their scenes together are few and far between.
Story has potential. Will read next book.

Great series

Really loving this series, plenty action, twists and turns, it is easy to read and is a well written page turner. I also love how it is set in the world Jayne created with her previous books and gives a nod to Ella Gray.

This book brings you deeper into the magical Faerie world and has as many exciting adventures as the first if not more. Bonus is they build the characters and make them more real.
