Now he knows the truth, he plans to return to the Shadow Order’s base for a long overdue showdown with the villainous shark. It is difficult being a human in a galaxy that spits on you. Part of my fondness for this series is that we are not the heroes; we are not even likable. Still, like many of us, Seb thinks he has the answers and knows what is best for everyone.
Hit the brakes and a screaming halt. What has happened and what appeared to be Moses' acting for profit isn't quite so simple. The team is willing to go forward but Seb just wants to walk away and live the quiet life with the girl. Seb finally has to recognize nothing is that simple and friends and family may die, but it is bigger than his issues with Moses. Seb is finally making decisions based oAn what is needed for the long game as they search for clues to Enigma.and the slave trade.
Two planets, help from characters we have met before and Seb using his brain instead of his fists. In the event Seb falls back into his need to be the center of attention Sparks is ready with her computer to zap him as she shoots out an electrical charge.
The universe is about to explode. I am looking forward to the next episode. (Had to revise to correct typos because typing a review on a paperwhite doesn't work very well.)
'Honour in fighting was created by those with weaknesses. You fight to win however you need to. When it comes to staying alive, rules go out of the window. Why give yourself unnecessary restrictions so you can abide by some bullshit warrior code? Life and death ain’t a sport.'
Seb and the team discover Moses' true intentions and plan. Nothing was as it seemed. The team attempt to locate the countess' slavery ring in a bid to find out more about the secret organisation enigma.
And now it seems the beginning of the end has started. Brilliant story, absolutely loving the character arcs. However I'm marking this one down slightly because Seb seemed to become more whiney again. It's partially understandable with what they faced with but just a tad annoying.
That being said I'm still extremely excited to move onto the next one 😁
“It’s time to wake, my army,” she said. “It’s time to rise up.”
Another story from the box set I have, where Seb and friends attempt to find out more about Enigma and its part in the terrible happenings, such as slavery.
Good plot, plenty of action, thoughts and feelings that make for a well-rounded tale. The characters are distinctive and fit well into the story.
I had to stop reading about 45% into this book. This story is already 3 to 4 books past when I personally feel a series should end. I mean come on already, save the damn universe.
