The story continues with Lucy aka Lucifer who happens to be a female version and Levi the hunky psychic.
Something is terribly wrong in heaven - thus Lucy to the rescue along with Levi.
There is plenty of action and steamy sex scenes to keep you entertained.
I myself still have a hard time picturing Lucy as Lucifer, but that's just me.
Overall I would recommend this story.

Coming into this series on book 2 has me wanting to go back to the first book of the series to read for myself everything that happened prior to book 2. I volunteered to read this book for the author for my opinion. I have to say once I got started I couldn't put it down. The unique perspective of a female Lucifer is awesome! This book gives a quick synopsis of what happened in book one and it so nicely done that me I have an idea of the previous book that reading book 2 first didnt leave me with confusion. The plot twists had me going nuts and just sucked into Lucy's world even more. I even enjoyed the hot and heavy because it was tastefully worked into everything that was going on. Now that I have finished the book I can't believe or guess the next turn of events the proverbial cliffhanger until book 3. Lucy definitely has her work cut out for her.

Lucifer the CEO of Hell will rescue Levi her lover from another Dimension. He has the Sword of Angels but will it work for him, he is human after all. Will Lucy get there in time. Her brothers have let things get out of control on Earth. Michael and Gabriel have turned against her and God is missing! How long has he been missing while she ran Hell? She must seal the portal to stop the revenants from destroying earth, find her Dad and find out what her brothers are planning to do. With the help her ex Decian, a Warrior Seraph Angel who has lost his memory, will she be able to stop chaos from being unleashed on Earth. This fast paced, exciting and hot as hell romance with Lucy and Levi will keep you wanting to read more of Jane Hincey's Hell's Gate Series and all her books are fun and sassy.

The Devil Inside is the second book in the Hell's Gate series. This should not be read as a standalone as it starts where the cliffhanger in Straight To Hell left off. There is violence. There is sex so 18+.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author did a good job with the storyline that keeps you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. It definitely kept me riveted all the way to the end. I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

THE DEVIL INSIDE : (Gates of Hell Series Book #2 ) : J.A. Hinchey.

OH MY GOD, OH MY GODDESS & OH MY CHILDREN OF GOD...AND DRAGONS???
Well that title just about sums it up,
just how much more phenomenal can one series become?

An original ingenious and imaginative rendition of storytelling from author J.A. Hinchey, the likes of which have never been seen nor heard from any other source; Be it Oral Histories and Tradition, Stories, Books, Movies or Television. Creating more arc twists & plots so large and unexpected from an already incrediblely unique storyline and series that literally blows your mind so exponentially it's out of this world, galaxy into other far off dimensions of space and time.

Lucy is to Lucifer as Lucifer is to Lucy.
So in this redition Lucifer i.e. Lucy is a Woman, and Oh What A Woman She Is!
Intelligent, sharp as razor, quick witted, stunningly beautiful, strong, with a heart of gold, and a good woman at that.
A fair, kind, caring, gentle soul, who can not lie out right and unable to tell a truth! She, cares not only for Hell (her home, and as CEO she built it, but not created it, the cleaver little minx), but for Heaven (her former home) and for Earth and Human's too (which she keeps a very close eye on).

Lucy's not the type of Angel who get's off on dishing out the torture of punishment to the the wicked sinners of Hell.
The further down you go, the worse it gets, especially in the bowels of Hell, 'The Pit', that's the special place, reserved for the worst of the worst, the human monster's & offenders.
Although she sets the punishment, Lucy passes off this duty of dishing out punishment to her CO2, Ashliel who loves her work and excels in it.

This woman is no Fallen Angel, but a True Gaurdian Angel.
Lucy goes out of her way, setting individuals whom have committed insignficant small wrong doings and mundane sins back on the fair and righteous path to life, showing them small visions, the flames of Hell from her eyes and where they're headed, if they continue on their current path of indiscretions! Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely!
But not with this Lady Boss!

The characters of this story have a likeability factor that's off the charts.
They're captivating, compelling & charismatic, totally authentic & original. Both the good, the bad & the ugly.
Ms Hinchey has graced them with that added touch of flaws for diversity & realism, even the Big Man himself and the emotions they emit from us, as the readers, takes us on a Earth shattering adventure that'll throughly sate your appetite for all things fantasy, Agents of Heaven, Hell and Earth with their formidable powers of magic, leaving you hungry for nothing more than the next elusive installment 'Hotter Than Hell' which will bring this culmination to a clatasysmic conclusion!
And I can't wait, but will be sorry to say goodbye!

The world building & characters are so vividly detailed and descriptive giving the impression you're right there, in the middle of the thick of things fighting along side Lucy, Levi & Dacian fighting tooth and nail for love, missing loved one's, the search for answers, Elohim, humanity, and saving Heaven and Earth & whatever else may come.
And whether that fight's in Heaven, Hell Earth or elsewhere eyewitnessing the magnificence of God's creation almost feels as if its first hand, not through the words on a page in a novel.

Hell was so beautiful depicted and narrated by Jane, I truly felt as if I was visualizing the four stunningly beautiful hot torturous landscapes of Hell through my own eyes as Levi became overwhelmed and astonished looking at the sights through the glass pane windows as large as a house giving Lucy's home a panoramic view of the magnitude and magnificence of Hell.
A view like no other in all of creation or existence.
Witness the beauty and magnificence of the Northern boarder's Mountains of Misery, to the South, The Flat Plains of the Orange Wastelands, a desert of dissolution and an impossibility for survival. To the East, the deceptive beautifully calming waters of the White Sea, a sea of a bone melting acid bath, and to the West a sheer drop to nothingness, a bottomless pit that goes on for all etenrity, the bowels of Hell. Balancing on the edge of the pit you'll find the smooth 'n' sleek black glass & metal majestic high-rise of Headquarters, just one amongst many of Hell's high-rise buildings scaling to the heights of the stunning skyline so picturesque in hue's of purple's, pink's and orange's boasting a perpetual sunset! It almost sounds divine or divine intervention.

Fabulous twists and turns, with familiar characters and new one's (mini and minor roles, and perhaps large upcoming roles to be played too).
While the saying may be 'Let Sleeping Dog's Lie', is it more like a case here of 'Let Sleeping Dragon's Lie?!
If so, Shadow Fall's and all of Earth may face widespread devastation, chaos, fear and total destruction in the form of cataclysmic Storms, Floods, Earthquakes, Volcanoes and other forces thought to be Mother Nature clawing back at humanity for the rape & pillage of her earth. Or is it some beast in an unrestful sleep causing the carnage, damage and destruction?
Is it true our scientists are wrong?
These so called Natural destructive forces have nothing at all to do with theories of the tectonic plates shifting deep in the depths causing the phenomena of 'Natural Disasters'?
Is Mother Nature clawing back at humanity for the rape & pillage of her earth?
Is it possible this wasn't Mother Nature's claws? Could it truly be something else's claws, moving while slumbering in dreams?
Will catastrophe strike waking what was once believed only a storybook legend, ready to break free from the bowels of the Earth, spewing forth from their centuries long slumber or can something or someone sooth the savage beast?

I RATE THE DEVIL INSIDE
6⭐ OUT OF 5⭐

And Definitely Recommend This Read Actually The Whole Series

I recieved an ARC Copy of this book from the author's and this is my fair, honest and impartial review as always.

Fun reinterpretation of Christian mythology

Interesting premise. Lucifer is female. God makes big mistakes. Heaven and Hell are corporate behemoths. The clever worldbuilding turned pages faster than the story. That's not to say the story isn't clever, too. The author gave the reader fun and funny characters with an interesting blend of and humor. On the down side, the book was a little too long. The murky middle drug on with a series of sex scenes and exposition. But the intriguing ending redeemed the book well.

I am enjoying this series. I love Lucy, but the other characters just seem underdeveloped and sometimes underused. I’m not too fond of Levi, he seems like an anchor dragging Lucy away from her full potential as the star of the series. Dacian is too uptight. The others haven’t been in enough scenes for me to know about them yet.
I think that this is a good series and Ms Hinchey is a good author. I will have to try some of her other books..

I am really enjoying this series. By now I have adjusted to Lucifer being a female.
If you want action and intrigue then this installment has it in spades.
The revenge that Lilith is seeking is unreal, plus the betrayal that Lucy experiences is
heart breaking.
I am looking forward to reading more.

Hell’s Gate:
Straight to Hell #1 - A pretty good twist on Lucifer and Lucifer's story, I like it. Jane wrote another good, fast paced, action packed, intriguing story. Her characters are fun and believable regardless of where they originate. The twisting plot keeps the reader glued to the pages until the end . . . where we get perturbed to find a cliffhanger.

Yes, a miserable cliffhanger! The other thing that bothers me about this fab read is Lucy is easily distracted at the wrong times. I find this out of character for Lucy, with all she's accomplished, and rather unbelievable; like she's a ditz. No, she's not human, so she doesn't have that excuse. I understand the power of sexual attraction, but can't believe her knickers would be choking her brain. It's still a fun and entertaining story. Worth reading, just wish the rest of the story was there. 5*

The Devil Inside #2 - Wow, it finally happened; I was disappointed by a Jane Hinchey book. The first book was great, I loved it! This one not so much. I didn’t care for the actions of Lucy and her brothers – although I disagree with the portrayal of God and the angels, I can accept this is just a fantasy. Lucy isn’t as on the ball as she was in the first book and the story left me disappointed. It’s action-packed and intriguing, but the angel brothers fighting with their sister and using vulgar language bothered me. I’m tired of seeing angels acting like trashy humans. I even think Lucy should be better than portrayed in this book; after all, she’s an angel in charge of Hell. But the story is well written and intriguing.

And I dislike this is a cliffhanger, again, and hope the next book will return my satisfaction level back to where the first book placed me. Has an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read it. I read some of the reviews and agree with Bev H’s review. I contacted Ms. Hinchey to review her books many, many of her books ago. 3*

Hotter Than Hell #3 - The best of the three, with the first running a close second. Well written (most of the story); action packed; fast paced; intriguing; suspense filled; and an adorable furball. The characters are interesting and dramatic; the storylines keep the reader immersed in the pages; and some of new characters are vividly described, rather cool. Ms. Hinchey does an excellent job with her vivid, exciting descriptions. There's a fight scene where Lucy forgets she's in a battle to guard the Gates of Hell; so silly.

I am disappointed that God was portrayed as "a whiny little b ...", (Kindle Location 1112). I know this is supposed to be about kick*** dames, but why does a man (or men) always have to be the loser(s)? Aren't today's women supposed to be against prejudice of all kinds? Certain readers will need take this book as entertainment and not recognize this book's "God" as the God Almighty. It's disrespectful otherwise, but there are other books to read if this review angers someone. When I started this series, I wasn't expecting this characterization. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*

🔥Lucy never lies💔

😭 Be ready for an emotional journey that will drag you through the pits of hell 🔥 , across the gold lined ☀️streets of heaven, passed the darkened alleys 🌁 of earth and across a multiverse 🌐 or two
Gabriel and Michael are planning on taking over heaven and earth but who is the true mastermind behind the mutiny?
Lucy knows only she can stop the chaos but she can not help but ask herself where is Dad and why has he not stepped in? What happened to Declan's memories?
Can I save Levi? What about Mom ??
Book two picks up right after the battle and now Lucy wants blood and we all know it is not wise to make Lucy angry 😠
If you enjoy paranormal do not pass this series up - everything a good read requires - suspense - angst - romance - OMG moments - Great characters - fantastic world building

For the love of all that is holy...........oh wait...........UGH! First I have to say, normally, I take a star away for a cliffhanger. And wow did this end with one. The only reason I decided against it, I just knew it was gonna happen. Still.....UGH!!!!!! That said, this book was amazing. Which means the final ending will be epic. Ms. Hinchey has created a world of characters that make you laugh, hope, cry and want to fight for them. I do miss getting a POV from other characters throughout the story, but again, I expected that. The writing is phenomenal and the story itself is more than a reader can ask for. Lucy is not just the ruler of Hell, she is a lover, a daughter, a sister and a friend. Levi, I absolutely adore. He is just so, well, human.....lol.
The brothers, can't really kill family can ya? Dacian, if we are lucky, he will get a book. There was action, betrayal and love. So many questions were answered, but new ones were asked. There were shocking surprises, and I am sure there will be more to come. What I really enjoyed, was this story is original. Completely from the imagination of the author. That is true talent. While Ms. Hinchey did an awesome job for anyone just starting the series, I would still suggest reading book 1. It would allow you to enjoy this one much more. I will be anxiously awaiting the next book. I recommend this series to all PNR lovers. This is my voluntary opinion of an advanced copy I received.

The Devil Inside, the second in the Hell’s Gate series, was great fun to read. It has wonderful characters, lots of action, romance, and a quirky look at Heaven, Hell, and Earth. It’s definitely a book for adults as it contains adult situations and language.

Lucifer’s father, G-d, has gone missing. Heaven is in disarray, Earth is threatened, and a surprise being awaits Lucy, hidden beneath the town of Shadow Falls. Can she, Levi, and Dacian find her father, deal with the being, and her decidedly non-angelic brothers? Will she be able to manage a relationship with a human? Warning: this book ends with a cliffhanger, but book three should be out very soon.

This book won’t let you down, but do read the first book in the series before you read this one. This series really does need to be read in order, so that what’s happening will make sense. This book will have you thinking about the possibilities. Could that beautiful woman standing next to you in line be the Devil? When things go wonky on Earth, is it because some supernatural being has been arrived and a battle is underway to send them back to their own dimension? So much to think about, but it’s enjoyable when couched with all the action this book provides.

I received an ARC of this book from the author. Ii thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.

I liked this second book in the Hell's Gate series. Lucy is on the warpath after her lover, Levi, is sucked through a portal into another dimension. While she is glad to learn he is armed with the sword forged in Heaven, she now has no way to open another portal and rescue him. He is only human after all.

Things only get worse when Lucy learns that her father, God, has been missing for years. She has been down in her own domain, Hell, making it into a smooth, running machine that punishes evil like it is meant to do. She has not taken the time to visit Heaven and her two brothers, Michael and Gabriel. She knows they are not doing a good job of keeping the Earthly domain running smoothly. It is obvious as soon as she sees the closed pearly gates that no one is running Heaven either.

Join Lucy as she comes up with a plan to rescue Levi, and then turns her attention to finding her father and getting Heaven sorted. Her feelings for Levi grow stronger, but how long can the CEO of Hell spend in the Earthly domain with a human? Or is he still a human? He seems to be running a little hot lately. Do they have a chance at a happy ever after?

I was given an advanced copy of this book. My review is voluntary.

In book 2, with the rescue of Levi, Lucifer, or Lucy as she likes to be called, the CEO of Hell, keeps seeing things going wrong on Earth, and she doesn't know why her father hasn't stepped in to fix things? And how can she get her brothers back for Levi being taken into another dimension. So when Lucy goes to investigate, she believes her brothers, Arch Angels Michael and Gabriel seem to be creating the bad things going on down on Earth. She and Levi and her ex-boyfriend who is a Seraph Angel, Decian go up to Heaven, and are shocked to see Heaven falling apart as well and find out from her horrible brothers that their father, God is missing and the brothers have been running things their way. So Lucy, Levi and Decian have a new mission. Find God. We are taken on an edge of your seat ride through strange events, dangers, twists and turns. And who woke up the dangerous Dragons? How can they be stopped before they destroy Earth? Why are the clues driving the threesome to different places that don't necessarily connect? Or do they? I LOVE this series. It is different from any of the other paranormals I have read and I can't wait to continue with this series, I am addicted and you will be too. I received an ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
