GRIGOR is the 5th book in USA Today and Amazon #1 Bestselling Indie Author, Carole Mortimer’s, paranormal series, DRAGON HEARTS.
Author’s Note: Beware of very sexy alpha dragon shifters on the hunt for their fated mates!
Grigor Pendragon is nearer to turning feral than any of his brothers, of making that final shift and remaining in his dragon form. If— When this happens, his brothers will have no choice but to kill him, before he harms any humans, who for sixteen hundred years haven’t known of their existence.
The only thing that will stop Grigor’s last and fatal shift is meeting and claiming his fated mate, the one woman meant just for him.
Gayle Wilson is independent and outspoken, a computer geek, and she has no idea her sister, Holly, is now the mate of a dragon shifter, or that Dylan’s seven brothers are also dragon shifters.
What she does know is that she’s being kept a virtual prisoner at Pendragon Castle, the family’s home in North Wales, until her sister comes back from her trip away with Dylan. Gayle isn’t at all impressed when Grigor, the eldest Pendragon brother, announces she belongs to him now, and then expects her to do exactly what he tells her to do. Admittedly, he’s tall—very!—dark, and handsome, with muscles that go on for miles, but there’s no way she’s going to belong to anyone, least of all the arrogant and cold Grigor Pendragon. The first opportunity she gets she’s getting out of there and going back to London, and to hell with the whole of the Pendragon family.
But when danger starts stalking her, Grigor is the only one she can turn to for help.

FINAL DECISION: Fun and fast read. Nothing deep here, but I loved the sexy dragons and the trouble that the stuffiest one of them gets with the independent and original woman who is destined to be his mate. Like eating cotton candy.
THE STORY: Grigor Pendragon is close to turning into a feral dragon who will have to be killed by his brothers when he scents his mate. But the woman he finds is nothing like the sophisticated woman he expected to find as his mate. Instead, Grigor finds Gayle Wilson, computer geek, mouthy and independent. Gayle is being kept a virtual prisoner in the castle as a way of her sister and her dragon mate to protect Gayle. But Gayle doesn't want to be protected, but when she is threatened, she might have no choice but to turn to Grigor even though she doesn't believe the crazy man who believes he is a dragon shifter and she is his mate.
OPINION: Enjoyable fun read. The opposites attract story between Grigor and Gayle with the banter and arguments between them was what I really enjoyed. The story is pretty standard and for those who have read the rest of the series, follows the template of the others. The amusing pairing of these two, however, was something that I particularly enjoyed.
The series has gotten better in the last couple of books. While the stories are formulaic, they are something that I enjoyed as light reading. The humor and heat in the stories make these a nice diversion. Two people who wouldn't otherwise pick one another are stuck and have to find a way to deal with one another and even come to like and eventually love each other.
WORTH MENTIONING: We get an update on Dylan and Holly from the previous book.
CONNECTED BOOKS: GRIGOR is the fifth book in the Dragon Hearts series. The romance is a standalone although the characters appear in prior books.
Fifth in this series and the first one I bought. I went and got Nathaniel when I realized it wasn't book one and started from the beginning. I really liked it. Again, it was shorter than the first book. These books are so good I go and buy the next book as soon as I finish the one. The real problem is that the external conflict that they have to deal with in the course of getting together and resolving the romantic issues is always dealt with in a way that feels too fast and too easy. Further development of that conflict would push this title into a 5 star rating.
I really love these books and I was so happy to read Grigor’s story, however, I felt a little disappointed that there wasn’t as much adventure in this book, the threat was just mentioned in the background with no proper climax as there has been in previous books in this series. I look forward to the next brother finding his mate.
Carole has written another excellent book with the main character Gregori meeting his fated mate...not what he expected..but fate being fate...well read for yourselves...Carole has a way of writing that keeps you interested from page 1 to the end...
It was good. I was kind of hoping for more passion maybe that's a little hard to ask for. To get the intensity of the first four. I do love this series.
She is a complete brat. And gets nothing but trouble. Now her mate can deal with her. I wouldn't. He is hot. She thinks he is nuts. She almost loses him. Because of her insecurities.
I’ve always liked Carole Mortimer. I was unaware she had written a paranormal series. More sensual then her Regency books but every bit as good. Love those dragon shifters. Intense. Dangerous. Passionate.
A wonderful lesson in how Pride can be one's down fall. Gayle left pride get in the way along with her insecurities and nearly lost the prize. Grigore left Pride get in his way so he wouldn't voice his need and true feelings. Ms. Mortimer did an excellent job on overall quality of writing, with only a few glitches in proofreading. Well thought out storyline and characters. No cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ending.
