One Weekend Away
Fake date. Fake identity. But the chemistry is oh so real...
Kenzie Matterson knows the pressure of establishing her career in the male dominated field of sports reporting is getting to her when she agrees to masquerade as her twin sister and act as the fake date for a mystery guy at his sister's wedding. In Fiji!
Things are further complicated when Kenzie learns the mystery man is none other than the guy who features most regularly in her alone-time fantasies, champion Rugby League player, Mitch Weston.
While the chemistry between them is off the charts, and the sex even hotter, Kenzie has promised her sister not to reveal who she really is. Promises to a twin are not easily broken. Besides, a public relationship with an athlete would be the kiss of death to the career she's sacrificed so much to establish. She has no choice but to keep her identity secret and walk away when the weekend is over.
Unwilling to end things so soon, Mitch will have to pull out all the moves if he's going to convince this stubborn-minded career woman to take a chance on love.
ONE Weekend Away is the first novel in the Stubborn Hearts series of contemporary erotic romantic comedies about independent career-driven women, and the too-hot alpha men determined to win their hearts.

Amazing book, literally speechless.
I like how it is not so cliche with the reasons as to why she doesn't want to ( or can't ) stay with him in the beginning but all ends well. It also has a great development as in it doesn't drag too much nor runs.
Great work

Such a fun read, I loved it.
I enjoyed this story so much it has become one of my favorites. The characters personalities literally came alive on the page and Kenzie and Mitch's adventures and misadventures kept me entertained all the way through. I'm looking forward to Krissie's story next in book 2 of the Stubborn Hearts series.

Nice read
Really enjoyable read. I know the relationship started with subterfuge but I liked both characters and the story was entertaining.

Having written numerous articles for a community newspaper for several years, I found it relatively easy imagining myself in Kenzie Matterson’s shoes. Being a sports reporter, I’d just love to know what a specific athlete is like off the playing field. So, when my twin sister, Krissy, offers me to take her place as the star All Rugby League star player’s [Mitch Wesson’s] date to his sister’s dream wedding on Fiji, I literally flung myself at the opportunity. And to pull this off, and to safeguard my own image as a hot, all sports reporter, I had to use her passport.
Of course, I had to protect my reputation as the rare female reporter, because being caught of consorting [in any manner] with a male athlete would easily torpedo the chances of my succeeding in the male-dominated career I’ve chosen to be part of.
I could never have imagined Mitch would become so infatuated with me, nor I with him, over the course what should have been a phony single weekend fun fling date, but it did happen. Because, somehow life always has a way of throwing a curve into your face when you least desire it; especially when an overly sexy hot alpha and a determined, independent career woman get involved with each other. And to make matters worse, Mitch seemed extremely eager to have me fall in love with him at first sight.
Naturally the weekend on Fiji, especially the unbelievable sex, had been more than Kenzie had thought imaginable. The return to normal life back in Australia, turned out to be quite difficult for her to deal, as Mitch, who she’s now in love with, only knows her as Krissy and not as Kenzie.
What happens when the truth comes out? Will there still be any love between these two? Will Kenzie still have the career she loves?
For given her readers, an exciting romp into the lives of what are supposed to be two career opposites, I’ve given Ms. Apps 5 STARS for her endeavor here.

L. Maree Apps' debut novel, One Weekend Away, is a fun, sexy read with wonderfully relatable and well-developed characters. I would recommend for anyone that wants a great romance to sink your teeth into.
Kenzie needs a break from trying to build her career in the male-dominated field of sports journalism. When her twin sister, Krissy, offers her place as a blind wedding date, Kenzie can hardly refuse an all expenses paid trip to Fiji. Determined to have the fling only last the weekend, Kenzie adopts her sister's name as an alias.
Mitch Weston needs a buffer against a maid-of-honor who is obsessed with him in time for his sister's destination wedding. When a friend offers to call in a favor to Krissy to act as his date, Mitch jumps at the chance to relax and have some fun in the sun. Not looking for a permanent relationship, his friend assures him that Krissy will be the perfect date without attachment.
Sparks fly as the two get to know each other and create memories destined to last more than one weekend away. However, after they return home, Mitch seeks out "Krissy" only to find out that she is not who she says she is.

I absolutely love this story!
The first time I read it was on Wattpad, and I was so upset when I could not find it there at one point.
I'm so proud that I have a final copy of this story!
I really don't want to spoil anything for potential readers, but I must encourage everyone to read this book. I am so in love with the characters that I really don't want to let them go even though I have completed the story.
This book is a definite must read that can be used as a relief from the stress of everyday life.

Wow! What a story! This book was totally unexpected and I loved it. Kenzie is a career woman who needs a weekend away. Mitch needs a buffer between himself and a crazy chick. As a favor to her sister, Kenzie goes on that weekend getaway with Mitch as her sister, Krissy. Little does she know what amazing chemistry they will have and what will happen all because of one little lie! Highly recommend this book!
