Oliver Bennett was only five years old when his mother was murdered. He was close enough to her for him to hear her dying cries. Her killer was sentenced to life in prison, and Oliver grew up amidst counsellors, therapists and brushes with the Law. When he turned eighteen, Oliver decided to apply to join the police. His father was sceptical, but has faith that his son was finally becoming a productive member of society. But like so much else in Oliver’s life, joining the police was nothing more than a means to an end.
