Aiden turned his back on his twin, the only blood family he had, a long time ago; their disagreement about how to use their powers driving a wedge between the two.
Then just when things with his little daughter get tense, Sage, a child psychologist appears in his life, and the connection between Aiden and her is cataclysmic.
Now his family has turned up, and it turns out he has not one, but three brothers, all with powers of their own. And they need his help to fight the organization that tore them all apart when he was a baby, and is now threatening his daughter.
But how can he drag Sage into this mess? He should cut her loose so she stays safe from Oculus...and from him.
Sage isn't going to let him to put her somewhere safe and fight this battle without her. She's going to be there, by his side...and in his bed, if she has anything to say about it. Whether he "allows" it or not.
HARD LIMIT is a hot and steamy, HEA story. I hope you enjoy it!
I wouldn’t say it’s the baddest superpower of them all, maybe the most powerful.
Aiden has the power to control the weather. I wouldn’t say it is the baddest superpower of them all. Possibly it could be the most powerful. He used it when he and his twin brother Xander were teens to have a snow day and skip school. He didn’t really want to, but Xander talked him into it and the resulting blizzard conditions killed a friend waiting at the bus stop. Aiden didn’t use his powers much after that and hasn’t gotten along with his Identical twin either.
Now he has an eight year old daughter Audrey and he also looks after his sister Sarah who is in a mental institution after killing their abusive parents. His wife died two years ago after a long bout of cancer. Audrey has been having a difficult time at school and getting into trouble a lot. The principal has talked to Aiden multiple times, but Aiden is not good at disciplining an eight year old who lost her mother.
The principal speaks to a psychologist and asks he to talk to the family and start seeing Audrey. The Psychologist, Sage goes to see Aiden and Audrey and there is an immediate attraction between Sage and Aiden. They go on a date after her first appointment with Audrey and it is steamy. They don’t make it to the restaurant. I won’t give away any more spoilers but there is more romance, family reunions and action with Oculus. It is a page turner.
A fantastic book. Extremely entertaining, captivating, emotional and very interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was an excellent, well-written story, but the fourth in the series. To date I have not read any of the other books in the series, but if this one is anything to go by then I will certainly be reading the others. This one was very intriguing and had plenty of twists and turns, making it into quite an exceptional read. The narrative above is a very accurate account of the book, but it is the powers the family have that contribute to the overall enjoyment of the story as far as I was concerned.
For one night, Drake wants to be a normal man; to spend time with his wife and family and to share the bond he has with his four sons. It is a bond that is beyond that of simply father and sons, as it is more powerful, even ethereal. But Drake has unwittingly brought danger to their doorstep. Oculus had finally found them and the children would never be safe again. Xander and Aiden knew they had been adopted by the Van Hoyts. It has not been a happy childhood for them or Sarah, the Van Hoyts daughter, and the abuse never ended; not until Xander finally intercedes. It is the present day and Aiden has an 8-year old daughter, Audrey, who looks like Jamie and acts like Xander; beauty and ruthlessness in one innocent package. Her school Principal is adamant Audrey needs more discipline and seeks Sage’s help; but Sage knew she was five years too late for specialised counselling. Aiden hadn’t been what Sage was expecting; she expected a cold callused, emotionally unreachable father, not a man who obviously loved his daughter and mourned his dead wife. Meanwhile, the attraction between the two is undeniable, but Aiden doesn’t want another woman to get close to him; hiding who he was from Jamie had been hard enough, even though he had not used his abilities in years. Now Audrey had begun showing signs of her own powers, so Aiden wants to keep Sage close in case she uncovers the secret he has worked so hard to hide over the years. Which came first; the attraction or the need to protect his daughter; but Audrey has already told Sage about their powers. Drake wants revenge on Oculus, the group who ruined his life, killed his wife and turned his boys inside out. But he is surprised that Aiden has fathered a girl and one that could communicate telepathically too. Drake has come to reunite all of them, so they can be a family again, but if Oculus ever found out about Audrey’s powers, she would be at the top of their capture list. Aiden is angry at everyone; they had brought danger to his doorstep without any regard for Audrey. Sage is connected to this family somehow and she is willing to give up everything for Aiden. But Aiden needs to rescue Sarah. Insurmountable guilt and grief washes over him as he realises what life in the Van Hoyt house has done to her; Sarah had come by most of her mental issues naturally, but the belief that her brothers had superpowers, that was real. Aiden sensed danger but he is not going anywhere without Sarah. When there is a standoff, Xander has another ability that Aiden didn’t know about and makes use of it to get everyone out of danger. Now it was time to deal with the threat from Oculus once and for all. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Finally Drake has his sons back, or does he? After decades of looking, he has located his last son, Aiden, but will he be able to convince him that he needs to join Drake and his brothers to fight against the menace Oculus?
Aiden is just trying to be a good single father to his daughter, Audrey, and run his accounting firm. His only concerns are taking care of his daughter and his sister, Sarah. Audrey’s having problems coping with the loss of her mother and the special abilities she has to keep secret. Dr. Sage Pierce is a child psychologist who only wants to help Audrey deal with her issues, but she can’t deny the instant connection she feels with Audrey’s dad. Is there something more going on which is drawing her into Aiden’s and Audrey’s lives?
Aiden’s life is spiraling out of control. What does it mean that he now has 2 brothers and a father he never knew about, and how can Xander be back in his life? Can he protect his daughter and sister against this new threat, and should he keep Sage in their lives or will he have to give her up to keep her safe? You really need to read this book to find out!
This story is fast paced, flows effortlessly, and will definitely keep your interest. The characters are easy to connect with and have off-the-charts chemistry.
Chloe Fischer writes an intense, intriguing, suspenseful romance. Her stories are real page turners, full of action and emotions, with strong characters. I definitely recommend this book and series! I hope there will be a following story, maybe about Drake getting his HEA. After all, there may still be a menace to defeat.
This is the final brothers book. This one has even more excitement than the previous one. The only thing is that I feel that the story isn't quite over and we need another book. I want to see what happens with the Oculus confrontation. I also want to know about Ryder's child and any other born into the family in like an epilogue or something. This author sucked me into this world through her awesome story telling. I hope to learn more about this family. Aiden is the one who didn't want anything to do with his powers. A tragedy occurred when he was a child and he never used them again. This book tells what the twins life was like as children of abusive parents and why Aiden decided to live a normal life as an accountant. Aiden has a daughter named Audrey who has powers and is having a hard time. Her mother died two years before and she is having problems coping with her grief as well as hiding what she can do. In steps Sage, who is a child psychologist. As soon as Sage and Aiden meet sparks fly. She is attracted to him immediately but doesn't want to cross the line professionally because of Audrey. All of Aiden's brothers and Drake make an appearance in this book.
I loved this 4th part, but I think that’s because I read the third one before. This part can be read alone, but it’s easyer to understand what happened to some characters before, like Xander. There’s more action and less romance, but it just seems right in this story, and I really want to know what will happen now. It’s the story of the last brother with powers, Alden. We discover how the twins grows and their link to Sarah the daughter of the family that adopted them. I liked that in this story Aiden is struggling between his power, his wish to protect Sarah who is in an institute (and her doctor says she’s more and more sick, but she’s only telling the truth) and his 8 years old’s daughter who has problem in her school with the principal. Hopefully, her school’s doctor (Sage) wants to protect her from the principal who thinks the little girl has a mental issues. When Sage and Aiden meet, they’re immediately attracted, but they have to quickly make choices about their future. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was book four in the Hard Series. Aiden had split with his only blood relative (his twin) over a disagreement on how to use their super powers. Imagine his surprise when he later learns that he has two other brothers that he never knew about and they all have these special powers. When his daughter starts having problems he brings in Sage, a child specialist to help. Their attraction is over the top but he worries that he might endanger her. She's not afraid and only wants to be with him. When his other brothers show up, they all realize that they're facing danger from the people who split their family up and are now after Aiden's daughter. Lots of drama and suspense as they fight the bad elements together and in turn unite the brothers. A hot and steamy relationship between him and Sage and an HEA for all. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
“Hard Limit” is the fourth book in the Hard Series and I think the best, although they all rate five stars. Aiden a widower with a daughter is the last brother to be found. He has split with his twin over the use of his special powers. Aiden wants to be normal so he becomes an accountant. Sage a child therapist is brought in to help Aiden's daughter with her problems at school. When Aiden and Sage meet there is instantaneous chemistry between the two. This quick, thrilling book has all the elements of a great story, drama, danger, intrigue, suspense, twist and turns, unrestrained passion and romance. Great book! Great characters! A MUST READ! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Oh my, I really, really liked this book, it's the fourth and final story and is about Aiden, after falling out and splitting away from his twin over the use of their powers, meanwhile, he has fallen for Sage, his daughters therapist, imagine his surprise though when his twin returns needing help and he's not alone, he has their two brothers with him, brothers Aiden didn't know they had. There is danger and he doesn't want to drag Sage into it, but she won't desert him.
I couldn't put this down I just kept turning the pages it was that good.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
I really hope this isn't the last "Hard Series" book. There seems to be so much more to learn about the Conway brothers & their father Drakes power's. Plus who or what is Oculus? I did enjoy the whole series to date, but many question's were left unanswered & it has left me wanting more. As a whole, this series hopefully is just getting started & Ms Chloe Fischer will at some point continue to entertain us with more, now that the brother's & their father have finally reunited. I would recommend that anyone wanting to check this out, should acquire "Hard Instincts" Bk1 first or just get the box set.
This is the first book I've read in the series. This book can be read without the others. In fact, with so much background in this story, it could have been the first book. Adam is inherently good and it leads to his division with his twin, Xander. This is a very good story and if I have the opportunity to pick up the others, I will. The heroine of this story, Sage is a child psychologist and gets involved because the school feels that Adam's daughter, Audrey, needs help. I get the feeling that for these men with super powers, there is a woman who is psychically connected to them. It's a good read and sexually tense.
I absolutely love this series. The way that you describe each brother has us hooked. It's like we can picture them so perfectly that it's no wonder why we fall in love with them. In this story we finally see all the brothers come together. I can't wait to see what they will do to the bad guys in the final showdown. Chloe I must say that I'm so proud to have been able to read this series and I'm looking forward to reading more. 5/5 stars. I voluntarily readand reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy
Wow! This is the fourth book in this series but the first I have read. Definitely am going to read the other three. A family with secrets- lots of secrets- and a dangerous organization looking to control them. What will happen? While this is supposed to be the last book/brother, the ending makes me wonder if there is more to come(hope so!).
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Hard Limit introduces to Aiden the last Conway sibling to be found. As with previous books in the Hard series there is plenty of suspense, thrills and steam. I am looking forward to see if Chloe Fischer continues this series goes now that the brothers are reunited.
I loved this book. Aiden is trying so hard to be "normal" but it's just not in his family genes. I really liked CF's writing style and will definitely be reading more. I read this book as a stand alone but I highly recommend that you also read the first 3 books in this story to really understand everyone! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Aidan is by far my best brother out of the four. Loved his story. He was the one who was most real for me, a father and husband coming to terms with a tragic loss whose only motivation was to protect his child. Chloe beautifully conveyed his conflict when it came to protecting Audrey. The brother's are together now.....Oculus better watch out.
This is an excellent addition to the series. The storyline is well-written, has action, some romance and is entertaining. The characters are defined and strong. I liked it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
