Some wonderful gems but also some "skippable" stories here. The last one is longer and probably the most relevant to the main story.
If someone wants to read everything, I would recommend following the timeline to an extent (to the ending point of these journals) and reading both of the journal collections just before The Hunt for Red Fluffy. The first journal for the Christmas story especially, which complements Red Fluffy, and this mostly because the 7th book just follows along immediately after 6th. The beginning of 7th also feels a bit weird after finishing the last story in this one, since there is a strong tie in, but there's supposed to be a decent chunk of time between the events.
If/when I do a re-read, I'll probably go for a full chronological experience sprinkling these short stories between the main stories.

These are a collection of Brimstone crew Shax, Ness, Verin, Corny, Heckle, Mac, Leopold, Max, Nic, and Rosa (& Miss Ivana!) short stories, in a variety of settings, (primarily Earth and the Brimstone's regular planetary haunts, occurring over many years. There should be a large audience of sci fi/m-m romance, but judging solely by reviews, it could be much larger.
The stories are light on the sci-fi setting, light on the detailed m-m sex, focusing on the relationships and adventures. Perfect book to make your way through as you have time--characters are simply adorable and fun. Who doesn't love a sentient, verbal, pink demon hedgehog prince?
