I really loved Sharkey's other play, The Murder Room, so I picked up this one, too. And it was definitely fun, but not nearly as good. The story was a bit more convoluted, the jokes were dragged out longer (and some of them could have easily been retired after one or two instances), and generally, some of it was forced. But, it was still a pleasure to read, and would be a lot of fun to see performed around Halloween. Would recommend to the right person.

Holy crap this was a funny play! I'm talking Neil Simon's "Rumors" funny! Misunderstandings, ridiculous double-entendres, misleading information, and silly dialogue? Sign me up! As an actor, this is the type of show that I want to do the most. If you love a good roll-your-eyes, laugh-out-loud comedy, this is for you.

Though this play, a cheap knockoff/cash-in on the film "Young Frankenstein," has one or two clever vaudeville-styled one-liners, it pales in comparison to the film (and now stage musical) which clearly inspired it. Save your time and seek out the real thing, not the imitation.

This was my school play in my junior year of High School. It is a very witty satire on the classic "dark and stormy night" Gothic tale and is so much fun to put on. Definitely worth a read.
