Two years ago Felicity’s heart was broken when her best friend laid a kiss on her she’s tried to forget, the same night he walked out of her life to tour with his up and coming band. Despite what Felicity believes, Myles life hasn’t been the same since the night he left her behind to make his dreams come true only to find without her in his life that was never going to happen. OMG, despite being novella length this book is jammed packed with so many feelings; betrayal, sadness, euphoria, want, need, friendship, heartbreak, and of course love. Myles returns to Baltimore intending to sweep Felicity off her feet and give her everything she’s always wanted only to find out she has plans that don’t include him. It takes a big man to admit he possibly didn’t think out his plan very well and to offer a solution that works for them both. I loved these two together and it was easy to see the love that had always been between despite their time apart. I was proud of Felicity for sticking to her plans even knowing it might cost her the man she’s always wanted in her life and I admired Myles for realizing he needed to give her the freedom to do follow her dreams since he’d done that and left her behind. With Pat’s Pub the backdrop for the first part of this book and the writing duo of Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn giving us another musician to love, Wilder Mind was a perfect romance!

Felicity cannot believe the voice she hears while at her last day of work. Yes, it's Myles, her former best friend, the man who destroyed her heart when he laid a hot kiss on her then walked away from her without another word of contact except a lame voicemail a year later. Well, no matter. She won't be giving Myles another chance to break her still broken heart because she's outta here, off on the road trip of a lifetime.

Myles was scared of his feelings back when he disappeared from his best friend's life. He didn't realize it then, but Felicity was his muse. And now he's empty of that inspiration she gives him as the muse in the forefront of his mind. Why? Because his heart is telling what he should have known, he can't live his life without her in it. So he's come home to claim his soulmate. That she's about to leave is probably just desserts but he'll just have to convince her to let him come with her. Will she give him the second chance he wants? Needs?

Wow, for a novella, this story packed a serious emotional punch! I could feel Felicity's hurt, feel her anger at the man who ghosted her. And I could feel Myles' despair, his anger at his own self for hurting her so badly. But I could also feel the love of two best friends, and of soulmates, that was still between them. I always love this duo's rockstars, and Myles is no exception. I know I'm going to get a tortured but redeemable rockstar when I open up a book by these authors, and Myles and Felicity gave me that in spades, along with lots of groveling (yes!), serious chemistry, and of course love. Can't wait for more rockstar love!

What romance reader doesn't love a book where the guy realizes he's always been in love with the girl, and he comes back to get her? The answer should be "none".

Myles is on a mission, and nobody's gonna stop him. Not even Felicity "Fee" Hudson, the girl he's come back to woo. He's taken winning her over to the next level, and the timing is... off, for lack of a better word.

Felicity was literally on her way out the door. She was ready for a new chapter in her life, and it didn't include Myles freaking Vaughn. Well, not yet anyway. Coming back to town like a whirlwind and a set of plans all ready to go, not realizing that she was on the cusp of taking off on her own journey. Funny how that works.

Nevermind that he was offering everything she'd wanted once upon a time. It wasn't what she needed now. That doesn't mean she won't admit to loving him, or give in to the attraction they always knew was there between them. Felicity just doesn't want to ruin things by staying and letting him plan out their future.

Myles and Felicity are EXPLOSIVE together. Wilder Mind has one of the hottest and most lyrical sex scenes I've ever read, and I've already read it several times because it's JUST. THAT. GOOD.

Here, where just a few minutes ago he’d been in full-on worship mode, now he was a little scary.
That feral light was back.
Wild like his hair, his music, and the light that burned so damn bright inside of him. That had been a beacon for me so many times.
I didn’t know I’d been chasing that light for years now.
And here it was, in front of me.

So if you're a romance junkie like me, and you're a sucker for a guy who knows what he wants and a girl who doesn't just give in, this book is for you.

FIVE no hesitation, absolutely solid, deer in the forest stars.

A Rockstar's Second Chance

Leaving the Band Behind

Myles had left the band and headed back home after two years to make it up to his best friend and the woman he left behind. After that last kiss Myles left Felicity with her heart broken and dreams busted.

Now he’s back and it’s Felicity who has other plans. Can she be the one to walk away this time or will she stay in their hometown trying to make a life with the “new” Myles.

I recommend this book and always look forward to more rock star books from these authors!

OH my, I loved Felicity and Myles. This was a great ending to my day of reading and it made my night. It made my heart happy. It's been a long time since I could actually visualize a story. Like remembering a dream of second chance love.
It was full of angst, love, and lust between Fee and Myles. Fee was left years ago by Myles after a moment with a statement of, I can't do this. Leaving Fee heartbroken and not to be heard from Myles for years. Then Myles turns up at Fee's job and playing her song, Felicity. A song that his band had played at their concerts and recorded. Keeping the love and memory of him from leaving her.
But Felicity has plans...

REVIEW: WILDER MIND by Taryn Quinn (Taryn Elliott / Cari Quinn) is part of the multi-author WILD IRISH Kindle Worlds Novella series, as well as the author’s WILDER ROCK series set in the world of the OBLIVION series. This is keyboardist for the rock band Wilder Mind Myles Vaughn, and bar waitress/bookkeeper Felicity Hudson’s storyline. WILDER MIND can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line in the Wilder Rock series is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading ROCKSTAR DADDY for Myles’ backstory and the events leading up to his breakup with the band.

Told from dual first person points of view (Myles and Felicity) WILDER MIND is a second chance story line between keyboardist for the rock band Wilder Mind Myles Vaughn, and bar waitress/bookkeeper Felicity Hudson. Two years earlier, Myles walked out of Felicity’s life as he and his band mates for Wilder Mind headed out on tour. Fast forward to present day wherein Myles has quit the band, and returned home to Phoenix, Arizona in an attempt to rekindle the relationship with the woman he has always loved. What ensues are Myles attempts to win back Felicity Hudson, and the potential fall-out as Felicity has other plans that currently do not include the man that destroyed her heart.

WILDER MIND is a fast paced, second chance romance between two people whose lives went in opposite directions. Felicity had always hoped that Myles would invite her out on the tour; Myles continued to struggle with the loss of his best friend so much so that is affected his relationship with the guys in the band. Myles had lost his muse, and his daily battle with stardom and success. Returning to Phoenix our hero had plans to settle down but first he had to make one last attempt to woo the woman he had always loved. The premise is energetic; the romance is fated; the characters are familiar, colorful and full of life. WILDER MIND: Wild Irish is an erotic, passionate and emotional story line.

This novella is an engaging read that is sure to capture your heart! Rockstar Lost is a well written, enjoyable second chance, rockstar romance that will draw you in from the first page and will leave you with a smile on your face. This is a story of two best friends and soulmates that must navigate through their feelings past hurt, attraction, and love.

Myles, Felicity’s best friend, shredded her heart two years ago and she continues to struggle with over coming the pain and hurt that he left in his destruction. Now Myles is back and imagine his surprise when he learns that this spunky girl has plans of her own. I loved Felicity in that she is a strong heroine that is stubborn and full of sass. Myles cracks me up as he is under the mistaken assumption that Felicity would always be around and would clearly want exactly what he wants. That boy must grovel. Big time. He is a sweetheart through and through and his love for Felicity is tangible.

Even though this is a novella, the authors did an impeccable job with character development and weaving together a story that is entertaining and swoon worthy. I only wish that it was a little longer as I loved these characters so much.

Rockstar Lost was previously released as Wilder Mind and was a part of the Kindle World. It is book 2 in the series Wilder Rock, but it can be read as a standalone. If you are looking for the perfect weekend read, then I definitely recommend this book!

How long is too long for a second change at a romance with your best friend? Felicity’s best friend left her standing at the door with tears in her eyes years ago so he could go out and become the rock star he is today. Myles realized all the fame in the world isn’t’ worth it if you leave the one person who you truly love behind. You will have to see if Fee is ready to chance her heart being broken again by Myles or is living out her dreams more important to her at this time in her life.

I’m so used to the slow build, complex depth of full length novels that I often forget the fun benefits of their shorter counterparts. It requires the author to streamline the storyline and quickly get to the heart of the action, which is exactly what Taryn Quinn has done in Wilder Mind.

Since her best friend Myles Vaughn and his band left town to become one of the country’s hottest bands, Felicity Hudson has been making plans. She’s ready to embark on a journey of her own and try to rekindle her friendship with Myles along the way. Or is she secretly hoping for more than just friendship? After all, she’s loved him forever, and their last night together—the one where he stepped over the friendship line then walked away—was explosive, and one she simply cannot forget.

Myles finally realizes that walking away may have been what he needed at the time, but not what he wants now. Unbeknownst to each other, they’ve each set in motion plans that will change the course of their lives. But will their paths cross long enough for them to get over the past and build a future together? Wilder Mind is their story. It’s quick, steamy, and surprisingly emotional for a novella.

This rockstar romance is just right for an afternoon indulgence! The story is long enough that you become emotionally invested in the complicated feelings Myles and Felicity have for each other, and complete enough for us to have a satisfying conclusion to the story. It would be nice to check in on them in other stories down the series. Looking forward to reading the next book. This book was originally released as Wilder Mind and was part of the Kindle world.

Two years ago, Miles kissed Felicity then walked away to pursue his music career. Now, Miles has returned to try to win her heart, but Felicity has plans for her own adventures. Despite this being a novella, this story has a depth of feelings. I loved reading about Miles and Felicity trying to figure things out and cheered them on.

Felicity and Myles are awesome!

This was a great second chance/friends to lovers novella. Myles left his best friend, and possibly the love of his life, when he hit the road with his band. Now, two years later, he’s decided its time to leave the band behind and make Felicity his own. Only perhaps she has other plans.

I liked that Felicity was such a strong character. While she may have been in love with Myles, she was not about to abandon her plans or her quest to find what she wanted from life. Sometimes you have to let the guy chase after you!

This book was a quick read, but the characters were very engaging. I found it to be both sexy and satisfying.

YES! This one had it all. A great friends to lover, second chance, and even a few tears thrown in for good measure. Felicity is all set to hit the road on her own adventure when on her last night at work the last thing she expects comes back into her life...Myles, her best friend who left her two years ago...after a kiss and went on the road with his band. Myles has come home, to Fee, and all he wants is her. He left his band and the road and bought a house. What he didn't expect was she was now ready to go on the road. Will they figure it out before they are too far apart again?

During college, Felicity meets the man that spoke to her heart, yet they are, only friends. Myles and she, did everything together. She is becoming an accountant so, he is writing his music something that felt soothing to her. And she is right there with him while his band practiced. It is more though, they did have fun cooking meals together for the band, experimenting with recipes, baking, having movie marathon nights, just talking, and more.

As time moved on, and their talks of hopes, and dreams would surface. Myles are to go out with his band, and making it big. Her’s are, putting her accounting degree to good use, settling down, a man, and family. But, as their band is signed, and in the studio recording, and less time for him, and Fee. She is working on her Masters, and working to keep the one day of the week, they promise to each other as their day, is getting stomped on.

Then, comes the day, out of the blue when Myles doesn’t read their situation correctly, and breaks both their hearts. He kisses her like a lover, but tells her goodbye. Yup, that he can’t be a them anymore, he needs to go it alone then turns, and walks away. After that, he goes radio silent breaking every piece of Fee. Until, all that is left of Fee, after this is the sadness, and the hurt is, the anger.

She tries to move on, dates several times even, a few relationships, but they don’t workout long term. She knows he has moved on, as does half the world, and that for sure she is in the friend zone. He was kind enough in her book to, humiliate her by pinning a song with her name, telling everyone they are just that, friends. Two years of nothing, when he pops up at the bar she is working her last bar forever. She is taking the vagabond life and it starts in two days and now he shows up? Oh! Hell! No!

Really enjoyed this story. Intense characters with real painful history together. Myles messed as did Fee. They both had the ability to ask for what they wanted and chose not to and those two years although, they grew it causes a lot of pain, anger and resentment that didn’t need to be. Very good book. Free on Kindle Unlimited.

Enjoyed this novella. Best friends Myles and Felicity shared a smoking hot, life-changing kiss as he was heading off to become a Rock Star. He could not handle both priorities and rejected their relationship potential, and they don’t speak again for a couple of years. It takes Felicity a while to get her life together again as she mourns the loss of her best friend and long time crush.

The book starts as she is finishing her last day of work to head out on an adventure; to stretch her wings. That night Myles arrives just as she is ready to leave, and he is wanting to reconnect. The core of this book is Myles having to work at convincing Felicity that they belong together. My favourite part of the story was Myles recognizing that he had all the success he could want, but nothing felt right without Felicity in his life.

“...Even now, I was terrified that I still wouldn’t get me—get us—all the way back. The record company, my friends, my music—all of it had been gray and lifeless without her. I was here to prove to her that we were more than friends. More than almost lovers…. She was my muse—always had been. It had taken a year away from her to know it was true. She’d always been the other half of me…”

The story is somewhat angsty at times, as Felicity has to decide whether she trusts him enough to let him back into her life, and how to dovetail that potential with her exciting plans. Of course this is a Taryn Quinn story so there is some serious steam heat.

Great second chance story. I think they both came to know themselves, and appreciate each other more clearly as a result of their being apart. They have a much greater chance of sustaining an HEA because of the individual healing and maturing they did. I will be interested to see how their HEA ending folds into future stories, and what eventual career choices Myles will take with his gift and his talent.

Note: An ARC was provided by the authors.

Rockstar Lost is a novella and the second book in Taryn Quinn's Wilder Rock series. This was a second-chance romance of sorts about best friends who always had feelings for each other but lost their chance to explore those further when one walks away from the other in order to chase his dream of music stardom. Two years later, Myles Vaughn has returned to his hometown in hopes of wooing back the only girl he's ever loved--his best friend and muse, Felicity Hudson. Unfortunately, Felicity has made plans of her own and none of them have to do with Myles. She's ready to go off on her own adventure just when Myles is preparing to set them roots for the both of them. She set him free to follow his dreams; will he let her go to allow her to do the same?

This was a super quick read, but it does tell a complete story without any sort of cliffhangers or me left feeling as if something was missing. I liked Felicity's spunk and her fiery spirit. She knew what she wanted, and while Myles return was a definite wrench in her plans, she wasn't the sort who was going to swoon over his belated romantic streak. Myles was, indeed, quite romantic, although I must admit that I got some satisfaction over the fact that things weren't going the way he thought they would once he returned to finally pursue Felicity and make amends of a sort. The one tidbit I found strange, though, was Myles mentioning that he now had a mortgage, but then he also mentioned in the book that he had enough money for several lifetimes, so...yeah. That didn't compute. However, I did enjoy the story and the happily-ever-after was satisfying. I'm giving Rockstar Lost four stars.

I love friends-to-lovers and second chance stories and I really enjoyed the first half of this book as Myles and Felicity reconnected, and you wondered if she would forgive him enough to let him back into her life and heart again.

It lost a star for me in the latter stages of the book because they had a huge communication problem. I know he wanted to surprise her 'Bigtime' to show he was committed to their future, but he made some large decisions that had huge implications, without her knowledge, or any kind of discussion or consultation and it just felt a wee bit unconsciously controlling.

My major dislike however was Felicity willfully and childishly refusing to have an open and honest conversation with him about her future plans. It was frustrating to hear her voice her true feelings and ultimate plans to her sister, but not to Myles. It smacked of "...well you hurt me badly, so I am going to do the same to you..." Her actions just felt too childish and immature for my taste, so my rating lost a star.

However the last couple of chapters were sort of charming and healing, and they got their HFN...it would be fun to check in with this couple down the road a few months, to see how their careers and life together turned out and if it was HEA. No one writes Rock Star Steamy Romance as well as Taryn Elliott & Cari Quinn. Final Rating: 3.5 stars I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC gifted to me by the authors with no obligation.

This is book 2 in the Wilder Mind series but it can be completely read alone. Although the first one was so good, I would recommend reading that one anyway! This book is about Wilder Mind's keyboard player Myles Vaughn and his best friend Felicity Hudson. Myles has quit the band and come home to tell Felicity that he loves her and is home to stay. Not realizing that since he left her she has made plans of her own and they don't include the things he thinks she wants.

I really liked this book! Myles is sweet and completely clueless all in one. He quit his band because he wasn't happy but he hasn't taken the time to figure out what all he truly needs. Other than Felicity. Felicity has tried to move forward in her life but it has been difficult. So she decided to travel and see Myles while she is traveling in the hopes of mending fences. When you put them together, it gets explosive! And once they work out all their problems and figure out exactly what they both need to be happy? It was great! My only drawback from giving this book 5 stars was it was too short! I really wanted more and felt like part of the story had to be left out to make it into a novella to fit in with the Kindle worlds editions. Other than that, I loved it!

This was sent to me by the author's for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this book because I liked both of the characters, Felicity and Miles. Told from both pov's, it usually takes me awhile to warm up to the female in the story but I actually liked Felicity from the beginning. The book starts with Felicity, who works in a bar but is leaving to start a new adventure. While there, her ex-best friend shows up trying to woo her back. She doesn't know what to think because Miles is throwing a wrench in her plans. Miles has given up his music to pursue Felicity because he realizes he loves her and wants to pursue things with her and to try to mend things between them. To show her that he is serious, he shows her the surprise he bought. The surprise ends up have the opposite effect. When he learns everything she had done in the two years that they have been apart, he finally understands what he needs to do to show her his feelings. He ends up surprising her and his compromise ends up doing the trick. I really liked the ending because it tells what happens to them. I just wish the book wouldn't have been a novella but a novel instead because there could have been so much more to tell for their story.

Felicity Hudson works at Flanagan's Pub and is ready to follow her own dreams with her own business. When her ex-best friend Myles walks into the bar she is confused on why he is back.

Myles Vaughn is the keyboardist in one of the popular rock bands. When he appears suddenly at Flanagan's to convince Felicity to give him a real shot she is shocked and doesn't believe him.

Can Myles convince Felicity how he truly feels and is she willing to give up her dreams for him?

This was such a great novella with some great twists and turns!

I really liked Felicity and completely understood why she was shocked at the return of Myles after what happened in the past between them. I loved that she was ready to follow her dreams by herself and I was shocked when the whole plan was revealed.

Myles made a mistake in the past and I loved that he recognized it and went to rectify it. I was shocked at how far he was going to prove to Felicity that he was in it for the long haul. I liked why he recognized that he wasn't happy and how he was able to reclaim a little bit of his passion writing for Felicity and the length he went to in order to prove himself to her.

The end was great and I can't wait to see what's next!

A great friends to lovers book. Myles and Felicity were best friends until two years ago. After a kiss that leaves them both shaken, Myles leaves Felicity behind and they don’t talk until Myles comes back into Felicity’s life.

Myles was first introduced with his band in Rockstar Daddy. In that book, we see he’s written a hit song about Felicity. In Wilder Mind, we finally see the results of him opening up and trying to repair his relationship with Felicity. What I loved most about Myles was his brokenness. He’s at a crossroads professionally and personally. Through it all he’s decided to finally win his girl.

Felicity was really hurt by Myles and while she misses him terribly, she is also afraid of letting him in again. I enjoyed getting to know her and just how much she really loved Myles.

Of course, I also loved that this book was a part of the Wilder Irish world. Tristan and the family are all some of my most favorite characters and I always love seeing little glimpses of them. This book was a great addition to Mari Carr’a world. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

You Know What Happens When the Hero ASSumes, Right?

First off, I have no idea what the Wild Irish series is (that this Kindle World novella is based in), so I went in blind on that. After some investigation, I discovered that in this installment in that universe, the bar and the owners are from the original stories. Okay, got that settled. ;-)

Next, omg, this hero. I wanted to smack him. It only goes to prove that, no matter how many mistakes a guy makes (seriously, confessing the dozens of meaningless hook-ups he’s had? To the girl he wants? When she hasn’t asked? Is he that stupid? Yeah I guess he is...) the girl is even stupider with love than he is, because she takes him back. He’s all full of grand gestures but *fortunately* Taryn Quinn makes sure that at least we the reader hear him figure things out in his head that he was being a dip-doodle (I can’t say the actual words or my review will get bounced from Amazon, damn it).

He doesn’t actually change his MO later, but at least he starts taking her into account with his plans for them. Ugh. I moved this up from 3-stars to 4-stars because at least he takes the steps to become less of a jerk.

Myles has quit his band and returning to his hometown, and his best-friend-that-could-have-been-more, Felicity. Felicity is quitting her job at the pub and planning to get out of her hometown and strike out on her own. There is history between them, some good, the end bad, and Fee is not all that happy about Myles' reappearance in her life.

BUT, with a little persuasion, both of the verbal and physical, plus a bit of compromise on both their parts, can Myles make Felicity see that he loves her and regrets how they left things?

I will admit to not liking Myles as a character -- the presumptuousness that Felicity would be willing to just drop everything because he was back, and that things would go exactly the way he wanted --
and HIS annoyance when they didn't -- that hit a little too close to home and irritated the crap out of me.

BUT when I got further into the story, and saw what Felicity's plan was, well, all was forgiven.

The novella was a quick, quirky, sexy read, and even with my initial dislike for Myles, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed at the way the story unfolded, and I was right! Definitely give this one a go!

Wilder Mind is a Novella as part of the Wild Irish Kindle World. It’s the story of long-time but currently estranged best friends Myles and Felicity. Myles has spent recent years coming terms with what he does and doesn’t want in his life. He has decided what he has to have is Felicity. Unfortunately, thought Felicity had plans to try to work her way to him eventually as well, canceling her plans is not something she is willing to consider. Can Myles work his way back into her heart and her life?

This was a sweet and steamy story that I enjoyed a lot, but not as much as some of the author’s other books. Felicity seemed overly stubborn and immature to me when Myles was offering what she supposedly had wanted all along. I didn’t quite understand her thinking that was creating more conflict than seemed necessary. But I did enjoy their path back towards each other and the ultimate HEA. Myles was a much more likeable
character, even if he was overly presumptive with his plans. Both of them really need to learn how to communicate a little better!

I would recommend that you read Rockstar Daddy before this book just to have a better sense of the back story, but it’s not required.
