Each warband is chosen from among the available SAGA factions and has a specific Battle Board and SAGA dice which grant them particular abilities in battle and reinforce their identity. This book contains SAGA's simple and innovative basic rules. They are easy to learn and illustrated with numerous examples. they apply to all the universes you might explore. These rules are the fruit of years of development snf the contributions of a large community that plays SAGA around the globe. An impressive and well-written set of wargames rules, dripping with the history-nerd enthusiasm that can often make these things impenetrable, but in this fine work the enthusiasm sweeps you along through the otherwise dry job of telling you what dice to roll when - only some layout issues (salient points being buried in blocks of text being one) mar this. A fine set of rules worthy of the popularity it has gained.
