Seth’s show Seth Row has made his name a household word with his weekly radio, internet and TV specials interviewing inmates on Death Row before their executions. Seth is often the last person to really speak with the inmates before they exit this world and the women in his life articulate that hanging out near the abyss of death rubs off on him, that ghosts of his interviewees follow him home and swirl around his life. Could be possible he supposed. Seth does not focus on the heinous acts that placed these corrupted humans on death row, but their backstories. The man behind the crime…their life, loves, interests, regrets, beliefs about life after death. He humanizes the villains. Not in an attempt to exonerate their awful acts or give them fame, but to pull back the outer layer and see what makes them tick. His favorite stories were always those where each character is multifaceted . The heroes are not always all good and the antagonists not all bad. Mankind is constantly battling the natural-man inside themselves and Seth believes there is good and bad in every person. It just depends on the wolf they decide to feed. He is the consummate professional interviewer, until he meets the most unlikely death row inmate and things become a bit more personal for him.
Teresa Meyerhoeffer Christensen has experienced all the elements of romance, drama, comedy, intrigue, tragedy, and adventure in over a half-century of earth living. She was born in Idaho to a basketball-playing, college president father, and cheerleader mother, who taught her to love to learn. She married her high school sweetheart, graduated as an RN, survived cancer, raised six amazingly unique children, taught religion classes for many years, was elected to the Bend- Lapine School Board while living in Oregon, and has served on various other boards in many volunteer positions. She now lives at over five thousand feet in Mountain Green where the air, as well as the veil between heaven and earth, are both much thinner and the inspiration plentiful. Teresa finally has the time to put down on page all of the stories that have been roaming around in her head for years. Jane Austin, T.S. Elliot, Henry David Thoreau, and Agatha Christie are all distant cousins. William Shakespeare was her twelfth great-uncle. Website: www.TeresaMeyerhoefferChristensen.com
Loved this fun, quick read. I looked forward to the facts about the death penalty every chapter. This made me ponder my own thoughts about the death penalty and death row. It was very well written and had a unique storyline!
This is a great read with interesting facts about death row in every chapter. Although, the subject matter may seem depressing, the story is not. It is a story about a radio journalist who airs live broadcasts from prison about inmates on Death Row. There is a bit of "the supernatural" in the story which makes it a fun read. As the reader gets to know the characters on Death Row, inevitably, one starts thinking about the moral dilemma of States having the death penalty as part of their penal system.
If you are looking for a quick, good read look no further. This is not your typical read but has everything a great book needs! I enjoyed the interesting facts about death row, the relatable characters, and the provoking plot.
