What a fantastic read....It gives you action, surprises, insanity, revelations, information, clarity, death, hope and an ending that leaves you gasping and wanting more....
Are things still happening? Do the characters grow? Does it still have action and emotions and unique things? Sure. So WHY did I so rapidly loose interest??
Main issues:
- characters cannot catch a break, and I, by extend, feel "caged", wanting them to get out of the situation and they are in quickly but it never does - someone is blackmailing them all the time - while some characters grow wings (literally) and went quite badass, some are falling into... a rutine, like Navan, who is just here to make puppy eyes and just stressing Riley more - also, did you notice this is a series about a group of teenagers that basically got to meet one of the most important beings in the universe (most of them from a species that is some version of a normal beings like werewolves and fae) and solve problems that no one else could before? - because, yes, this is usually the case with paranormal YA, Go Teenagers, right? and it is not that nauseatingly focused on the romance, you know, thinking about love in the most most inappropriate moments but it is just getting so complicated!!! - it feels like (beware, gamer reference) like Skyrim or Witcher! They go on a quest, to accomplish something and end up TONS of different things, some not even pretending to be important to the ultimate goal, other than someone-made-us-do-it - the threads stopped being a tapestry and ended up being just one big, messy ball of yarn - it really skirts the edge of what feels necessary and what feels... forced? drawing out the plot that could have been solved in 4 books max? - which is why I cannot stop reading it but I am no longer really enjoying it - I am skimming and just no longer care how is it accomplished as what they accomplish - who survives in what state and stuff... wrrrr, this is so frustrating
I really do like this series don't get me wrong. But... with Seraphina becoming a bigger part of the series in this book, I have really lost respect for Riley. Seraphina inspires me way more than Riley where Riley seems childish and a bit selfish. I think this is because Riley doesn't have much of an internal monologue in the series; you never really know what Riley is thinking, it just comes out of the blue. I do like that this leaves you surprised by Riley's decisions but I do think a lot of her decisions seem pretty irrational when she doesn't explain herself so to speak. I feel if we knew more of Riley's thoughts we could get to know her better as a character and have that close relationship with her that you want a reader to have. Currently I feel like I don't massively care that much about Riley; she is just another person, nothing seemingly special about her.
Wow!!! So amazing! I never expect anything less from Bella Forrest. You will NEVER be disappointed with one of her books. There is just so much excitement and suspense and love. Her books bounce all over the board, and turn out AMAZING! You would think with there always being new characters and plots that it would get to be too much for you, but in reality you cant get enough! It leaves you with wanting more!!! If you havent read this series yet i would definitely give it a go or better yet ANY of her series!!!
I'm super glad i read this dates before the new book. I really enjoyed this book. Riley and Ronad are a good pair, got the adventure they take. I loved the introduction of the new two brothers, wasn't a fan of their choice at the end. I wish this series would follow more then just Riley. I would have been curious how Navan, Bashrik and the girls were faring in the North with Riley in the South. Good overall. I continue to enjoy Bella's Forest! 😊
This was one of my least favorite of the series so far.
I felt there were way too many unlikely things happening such as Riley's new friendships with Navan's brothers and former enemies, breaking into impenetrable places so easly and capping it off with the arrival of the titans just made me feel like i was reading something else.
Still liking the overall plot though and am eager to see where the next book takes us.
The suspense Bella always manages to create in her stories amazes me. New characters for us to love and old ones returning when you least expect it. I love that I can never anticipate or expect how things are going to turn out and surprises are lurking with each turn of the page. Also another great cliffhanger at the end, I can’t wait for the next book in this saga.
Bella Forrest did her thing yet again! She flowed seamlessly from the previous book to this one. This book has twist and turns you never expected to happen, definitely a nail biter especially near the end. Love this series!
I like this series but this book I didn’t devour at the first sitting like usual. It has too much of the same thing happening to the main characters (one gets separated and the entire next book is about rescuing them).
This book was fantastic. It kept me reading non stop. It's full of action, llo
This book was fantastic. It's full of action, love, war, and love. I read it non stop from beginning to end. I can't wait to see the next book in the series.
I don't think there wos anything in this book I didn't like ...massive twists and unexpected turns .... hope they find wot there looking for in the next book won't say to much and spoil your fun ..
OMG! What judt happened? I cannot believe this. So much drama, fear, terror. I'm absolutely mortified right now at what is happening. I'm trembling in my own skin in fear for what happens next. I'm so glad the next book comes out tomorrow!
One of the better ones in the series. Mort cracks me up, and I loved Kaido. The characters felt a lot more real in this one and really engaging. Plus, the new characters added some vitality to the story. It was well done.
Riley and Ronad are captives at Navan's parent's house. they wish him to come home but with civil war going on, that might be difficult. Riley sees Sephora in difficult straights and wants to help, but might the costs be too high?
Things are moving along. And I enjoy the characters but I’m not in love. It’s entertaining but it seems like nothing and everything is happening including all at once.
Hot bloods 5 is a great read. May I suggest reading the entire series in the proper order. Navan and Riley are my Super heroes, so to speak. Looking forward to completing the series.
