Ever since high school, Elijah and Kamnan have always had each other’s backs. So when Kam suffers a freak accident and is laid up for a few weeks, it’s only natural that Elijah steps in to help him through his recuperation.

But they soon discover that the occasional meet-up to throw back a few drinks is very different from being cooped up together in Kam’s condo day in and day out. In fact, the more time they spend together, the more Elijah sees Kam in a completely new light—one that surprises and scares him. After a tender moment turns into a passionate exchange, Kam first chalks it up to the building tension of the routine they’ve fallen into. But everything feels more intimate, and time apart feels empty.

As Kam regains his independence, the real world begins to encroach on the sanctuary they’ve built for themselves. Elijah’s still getting over a bad breakup, and Kam has his own plate full of responsibilities—his Spin Cycle business and joint custody of his five-year-old daughter. A relationship is the last thing either of them is prepared for, but will trying anyway end in heartbreak, or will resisting be the wedge that tears their friendship apart?

Likeable, well-developed MCs who actually talk to each other, best friends to lovers, plenty of UST, almost no angst, a nice helping of hurt/comfort, and a cute dog named Ginger ... what's not to love?

Not a whole lot.

I loved catching up with the other couples and was pleased that Kam's ex was a nice person. I adored Kam's daughter and his mom. No family drama here!

My one wish is a stronger ending. While I've no doubt these men are perfect for each other, there was no epilogue or time lapse. The story takes place over the course of a few weeks, so while the friendship is solid, the book ends before the romance really begins.

Reclaim by Christina Lee was exactly what I've come to expect from her. She always delivers fleshed out characters whose love stories grow naturally.

What I loved:

-Best friends to lovers
-Slow burn
-UST
-Interracial romance
-Awesome supporting characters

Only niggle:

Though I love a good slow burn- this one was a tad too slow. I would've liked a little more steam or more time together with them as a couple.

Overall though a lovely read that had me hooked from the get-go. Verra nice addition to the Under My Skin Series. 4 Stars

There's not much better than the friends to lovers trope and in the skilled hands of Christina Lee, we are given a masterpiece in how to build up tension.

I loved Elijah in the other books in this series and was glad when he finally dumped Stewart (more on him later and what a delightful Easter Egg that was) because he was treating him like dirt.

Kam was more of an unknown quantity but I soon grew to love his solid and reliable presence in Elijah's life and how Kam had slowly realised he was falling for his best friend once he'd been sidelined by injury and reliant on the other man's help.

Chuck in a sweet dog, a wee bit of UST, some fear about irrevocably changing their relationship for the worse, a couple of smoking hot blow jobs and I was totally on board the Elijah and Kam train.

Eventually someone needs to make a move and I loved that it was Ginger the dog that helped Kam to finally declare his feeling, leading to a super emotional smexy times scene which was perfect. The epilogue is super sweet and we get to catch up with the other two couples too on New Year's Eve.

And back to Stewart, the bonus chapter after the epilogue had me squealing as it had been discussed long and hard in Christina's Facebook group and, while she says it's not from an upcoming book, I am rather hoping there's a "yet" firmly attached to that statement ;)

#ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review.

Well… that was boring.. and it might be my mood but I have read better friends to lovers books.. idk it didn’t feel like they should have been lovers, it felt more like they should have stayed friends 😂😂

To me not a great transition from friends to lovers. I don’t know how much of that was my mood.

El más flojo de la serie, se lee rápido y no aburre, pero le falta mucho desarrollo de los personajes y de la historia, todo muy superficial, y el libro termina cuando su relación comienza.

I'm always up for a nice friends-to-lovers story and this one hit the mark!

Kam and Elijah have been best friends for years, they have been there for the highs and they have been there for the lows. It was always in a platonic way and neither had ever thought to change that. Then Kam was in a bike accident while competing and he had to stay in bed for about a month with his arm in a sling and his knee in a brace. It doesn't need saying that he needed help and someone to care for him while he recovered.

His mom, his ex wife and Elijah set up a schedule that allowed all of them to keep working and at the same time have someone be with Kam for most of the day and night. During the weeks that Kam was layed up in bed the two of them got closer without even realising it and soon they felt weird if a day went by and they didn't see each other.

I liked their transition from friends to lovers and the way they realised their feelings slowly. It was sweet to see them start craving physical contact and not ever realising they were doing it. My only complaint is that their voices weren't distinct enough. I was constantly confused about whose chapter I was reading and I had to turn back or read a few more lines trying to figure out whose POV I had in front of me. It distracted me from the story but as the book progressed it became less of an issue and it was easier to pick them apart.

This is the first book I'm reading of this series. The couples from the first two books are side characters here but I didn't have a problem reading this as a standalone. I didn't think that we were going to see Elijah's ex, Stewart, again but after reading the blurb for book four I think that's his story. I must say that I have mixed feelings about that. I didn't see anything good from him here and he appeared to be very controlling so I'm curious about how the author is going to handle his book.

Finally finding the courage to step away from his controlling boyfriend, Stewart, Elijah is working on getting his life back together by spending time with the people that mean the most to him: His friends.

He and Kam have been best friends forever, so when Kam is injured and bedridden for some time, it’s only natural that Elijah offer to spend the evenings/nights with him after getting off work to help with whatever he needs. Over the next few weeks, feelings neither realized were there begin to deepen, but will they risk their precious friendship to explore those feelings?

This was a much lighter read than the others in the series. I love a good friends to lovers and this one was just perfect. I adored both Elijah and Kam, and I loved that the transition from friends to lovers was slow. It felt natural and organic.

The unresolved sexual tension — this story is a slow burn — was so thick you could cut it with a knife and when they finally give into it, it was explosive. The chemistry between Elijah and Kam was amazing and the sex was sweet, passionate and worth the wait.

The story was well-written and flowed well. It was an easy read and I enjoyed getting to know Kam’s daughter, Olivia, who was absolutely precious, as well as catching up with some of the characters from the previous stories. This was a sweet, satisfying and well, just a perfect read to snuggle up on the sofa with. Very enjoyable and highly recommended!

Friends-to-lovers is one of my very favorite romance tropes and Kam’s and Elijah’s story was as close to perfect as you can get! Such a delicious slow burn that had my heart clenching on more than one occasion. I loved how comfortable they were with each other, and how there really wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for the other, all thanks to their long and loving friendship. To say Kam and Elijah had the makings of a wonderful relationship is an understatement. And I absolutely adored having a front row seat, to see their feelings develop from those of friends to ones that were even deeper and more meaningful.

Low on the angst, high on the sweet, Reclaim is such a heart-warming, feel-good story! Individually Kam and Elijah are both quite endearing, but together they are beyond adorable! I enjoyed everything about this book, and I just loved having the chance to visit with all the friends again- what a terrific group Ms. Lee has created!

The pleasure of this book is the steady steady beat of this books pulse as we see Kam and Eli move from friends into lovers.

The book slows down as Eli reflects on his last relationship and Kam recovers from an injury.

They really see each other anew as grown men and value who they really are.

Then, pow, chemistry.

The cast is great and we get an awesome dog too in this lovely character driven inter racial romance with wonderful bi rep as well.

We have seen Elijah and Kam throughout this series as part of the larger friend group and they have been best friends since high school. They have been there for each other through some difficult times.

Elijah works at Doggie Styles and is branching out with his own side business. He is getting over a bad break up with a suffocating and controlling man. He had lost himself and been distanced from his friends. He is a little impulsive, messy, but loyal and thoughtful.

Kamnan is very focused, intense, and conscientious. He is always on the move. He owns his own business, has a daughter, and has his own fairly recent break up story. When Kam suffers an accident and needs help, Elijah is there. Kam is miserable and hates being dependent and having to slow down. But spending more time with Elijah is one bright spot.

And Elijah finds that helping out Kam is not a chore and he is starting to look more forward to it. The time spent together reconnecting gives them both comfort and companionship. They understand and appreciate each other. But it is also brings a new attraction, confusion, and fears. They both struggle to come to terms with how they are seeing their friend in a new light. Sexual tension and some unexpected tender moments and touches just add to the vulnerability and intensity.

Do they risk their longtime friendship over feelings that might not even be reciprocated?

This is a beautiful, slow burn, friends-to-lovers story with two lovable guys who had been burned. Their personalities and their connection and chemistry were well developed. They had a lot to lose, but also so much to possibly gain. I loved seeing them begin to reclaim their own self worth and truly understand what a healthy relationship could feel like. And especially Elijah was working on reclaiming his life and breaking bad patterns.

I enjoyed getting more with his friends, Brin and Nick, Tristan and West, Jerome and Darren. I have come to really like this eclectic group who support and care for each other. This was a short, low angst, and sweet addition to this series.

I was gifted a copy.

I read this story a lot before. Best friends to lovers. One of them gets sick, and the other takes care of him. They spend a lot of time together, while Kam is healing, and they slowly realize, that there might be more than friendship in the cards for them.

Yes, I read this before, but Christina Lee wrote it so beautifully. She about killed me with the slow-burn, but damn how I loved it. The tentativeness and tender touches. *sigh* In that regard it was a lot like There You Stand, which is one of my fave from this author.

Sweet and endearing story of best friends to lovers. Sometimes when I read a book a certain word pops out and keeps reappearing in my mind. In this one it was TENDER. Everything about these two, the connection they shared and the way everything progressed was SO tender. It was the way they treated one another, the way things easily flowed into a relationship they didn't even realize they are sort of having. It's the low angst and the comfortableness (if it's even a word) you feel around someone you love and trust. Yep, Tender is the word.

We've met both Kam and Elijah in the previous installments in the series though it COULD be read as a stand-alone with a few glimpses into the lives of the other couple mentioned in the 2 previous ones which are also MUST READS just so you'll know :) Where was I? yeah. So, Elijah works at "Doggie Styles" a dog day care, pretty close to his best friends's bike shop "Spin Cycle".

Kamnan ("Kam" in short) and Elijah have been best friends since childhood, dealing together with the difficulties of life. Kam raised by a single mother who made pretty difficult decisions to make a better future for both of them and Elijah dealing with an abusive father. Sticking to one another, Kam and Elijah always made a place for each other in their lives even if they didn't see each other as frequently as they wished.

When Kam finds himself thrown into a ditch in the middle of a cycling competition because of a freaking CAT he is bedridden until both his knee and shoulder heal. Kam is overwhelmed with how his close circle makes a schedule to take care of him, and though he expected his mother and aunt and even his ex-wife, he is still surprised with Elijah offering to come and help him every night when he finishes work. For Elijah it's no sweat - helping Kam is what he WANTS to do, not something he just feels obligated to offer and so this is how they spend their time for more than a month. Each night Elijah comes and stays with Kam, taking care of him in the most basic ways but also just spends time with him watching TV. Their close friendship makes it easy for them to enjoy each other's company even if they never shared so much time together in the past or the sort of intimacy they find themselves sharing though Elijah caring for Kam.

As the days goes by, each of them finds a strange attraction and a certain change to the way they see each other. They were both feeling uncertain, not wanting to damage their special long lived friendship. Losing each other isn't an option so it's no wonder they somehow "stumble in the dark", preferring to act shyly than saying what's truly on their minds. It took them time, but every minute of it was a step they needed to take before they could realize that THIS is what they have been waiting and hoping for.

I can say so much more about this novel. About cute Ginger the Collie who adds more color to their lives, and also Olivia, Kam's daughter who certainly helps Kam realize that what he sees between her and Elijah is what he has always hoped he will find someday in his partner (man or woman). There's Stuart (Elijah's ex) I wanted to murder every page he appeared (as I felt in the previous books where he was mentioned) and yet I LOVED the way things concluded with him as well. Everything in this book fit SO right. I enjoyed getting more of our previous couples. Their journeys were more "angsty" and so seeing the HEA even if just in little glimpses made me extremely happy.

I've said enough. I hope it made you realize how much you need to grab this one and read it. I promise you'll end up with a stupid smile on your face. Well, until you read the bonus scene that one made me LAUGH OUT LOUD before closing my kindle feeling utterly content.

I kindly received this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This has to be one of my favourite series. I love a good friends to lovers story and our Mcs, Elijah and Kam have been best friends for years. They are suddenly thrown together in close proximity, and it's then that one night changes their whole dynamic and their futures.

The story itself was so sweet, I really enjoyed Elijah and Kam together and seeing Elijah do whatever was necessary to help Kam, made me smile. I got a kick reading about how their relationship developed, they knew something was happening between them, but were so unsure how to act on it. Their characters were very well-drawn, and despite being very different, the chemistry between the two jumped out from the page . I also liked that the story is told from both MCs' POV, as a result, I got quite a good grasp of the two men.

This is the third book in the series, and I personally don't think that it can be read as a standalone. The first two books are so good, they really do merit a read. I liked that I got to see Elijah and Kam in previous stories, and it was also nice getting a glimpse of the boys from before.

So, a sweet story, with lots of tender moments. Very well written. I'm so hoping there's more to come in this series.

At times I am in the mood for a sweet, low-angst book and this friends-to-lovers story in the Under My Skin Series was a perfect choice.  These characters, both primary and secondary, are extremely easy to love.

Kam is a rather intense and interesting young man, the divorced father of a little girl, spin-cycle business owner and member of an immigrant Thai family.  The author brings Kam, his family, and culture to your home in this story.

Elijah is Kam's best friend, one in a close-knit group of close friends, most of whom we've met in the earlier stories in this series.  Spending time with them again was my pleasure and this is a series that definitely deserves a re-read.  Sometimes a traumatic event can change your world in unexpected ways, a seismic shifting of emotions.  Everything started with a cat and a bike race or maybe it started sooner... 4.5 sweet loving stars

Loved loved love!!!!!

Reclaim is the perfect best friends turned lovers. When Kam, owner of the cycling shop in town and Elijah’s best friend has a run-in with a stray cat, he has a couple of months’ recovery time at home, where he’s almost 100% dependent on someone to be there for him for the most mundane tasks.

Elijah who’s working with Tristan at his grooming business won’t let anyone else be there for his best friend, the one who’s been there for him all his life, when he needs assistance. And he does it with all his heart. He’s also doing his best to get over Stuart, his controlling and emotionally abusive ex. Which won’t let go so easily and keep on manipulating him.

And Eli will fall for it time and again, excepts when it comes to Kam suffering for it. That’s where he’ll draw the line and where he will also use Kam (not in a bad way!!) to prove to Stuart he’s over him for good.

Eli loves Kam – they’re best friends, and now that they’re spending so much time together, and some of that time is with minimal clothing, the attraction is inevitable. But what neither of them expects is for their feelings and craving for each other’s company to deepen so much. For seeing each other in a completely different way.

And that way is oh so perfectly sweet.

I loved this book the most, I think, from all three.

Always a sign of a good story---I wish there was MORE! We have come to know Elijah in the previous books of the series. What we find out is that he and Kam have been the best of friends since they were little. Both have come out of bad break ups. Yet until Kam is laid up with an injury, neither has though romantically about the other.

Loved the slow burn of flirting and wandering thoughts before any action is taken. And when things do heat up--whew! Goodness! Great to see the previous couples again. Really enjoyed seeing Kam and Elijah with Kam's daughter. A perfectly sweet read but I'd love an epilogue or a peek at these two again in another book.

As always Mrs. Lee has brought us another amazing sweet love story. Every time I read a book by this author my heart gets so full. I’ve been waiting for Elijah’s story and it didn’t disappoint.

Eli and Kam...... best friends. Until one day some feeling pop up that scare both of them. Do they act or hide it away so their friendship stays intact?

These two are just so right for each other. Even if they don’t know it yet. It was such a sweet, loveable friends to lovers story. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Elijah and Kam have been friends since school but there has never been anything romantic between them. Not even pining or angst from one toward the other. However, when Kam is injured and Elijah steps up to help care for him, feelings change and begin to develop between the two of them.

Both of these MCs are likable and the story is sweet but unremarkable. There is some tension between them because of not wishing to lose the dear friendship they have by taking things further. But beyond that, this is a low angst friends to lovers tale.
