This is a review for both volumes of Kuroko no Basuke: Extra Game.

Pure succulence. Ç'est Magnifique.

Finger kissing gif

Hey do you like the anime/manga Kuroko's Basketball? Yes? Well then why in the world have you not read this already? Because these volumes are not published in English yet? Okay yeah reasonable. SO WHEN THAT HAPPENS... I recommend hopping on this bad-boy because it was a good time. But if you haven't finished the main series yet, I'd recommend doing that before reading these.

Extra Game centres around a basketball game against the American street ball team the Jabberwocks. These guys are like the Generation of Miracles (GoM), and then some. They also happen to be huge dick-wads. After Team Jabberwock humiliates a team that consists of the graduated 3rd years during an exhibition game, the GoM (plus Kagami) are on the case. For the first time since middle school they play together on the same team.

If that synopsis doesn't make you need to change your underwear I don't know what will. Throughout all 75 episodes of the anime I craved to see how the GoM played together. All they ever gave us were tiny little snippets, but I wanted to see a game, damnit. And behold. A game there now is. I was contemplating not reading this and just waiting for the anime adaptation (which I am pretty sure is actually happening and is not something I just made up), but that's going to happen in such a long time I said screw it, I'm reading this bitch now. *Edit:* Yes, they've made this into not just an anime adaptation, but a movie!!! It comes out in Japan on March 18th 2017! So, fly over and watch it when it comes out I guess, lol. OTL

This was probably the most OP game in the series, understandably, since it's literally the Generation of Miracles vs. also a Generation of Miracles. This game is exactly what you would expect from this series, difficult, suspenseful, heart pumping, and fun. It was pretty good at making sure that each character had their moment in the spotlight, so no matter who's your favourite person of the GoM (plus Kagami) you'll be happy. Except I guess I'm greedy because I still want more Aomine. Sigh.

Look at him. LOOK! He's beautiful. Moar plz.

So why only four stars and not five? Well I mean I like this series quite a bit, but I didn't even rate any of the seasons 10/10 on MyAnimeList. It has its flaws, like how it gets a bit repetitive and whatnot, and I just did not get that 100% vibe that I get from really great books. Like you know when you finish something amazing, it's 5/5, no question about it. That wasn't really this. If you have to question whether or not something is 5/5 or 10/10, that means you probably did not actually enjoy it to that caliber. Still great though. If Kuroko's Basketball was a 10/10 series for you, then this won't be any different. It's really more of the same.

Yasssh! ✨️The most powerful team in this universe✨️

This is the answer what if they all are combine into one team. Chaos in a good way.

The mixed up team between Generation of Miracles (Akashi, Midorima, Aomine, Kise, Murasakibara), Light-Shadow duo (Kagami, Kuroko) create TEAM VORPAL SWORDS to fight Team Jabberwork.

The story was so good & intense. Oh god! I love their friendship and sportsmanship 🏀

P.s : It's a little too hard to tell the characters apart without their signature hair color 🤣

Creo que la animación no le hizo justicia a este especial, y sí habló porque no hicieron la pequeña aparición de Nijimura junto a Kiyoshi 🙄

The time of watching all seasons of Kuroko no basket anime, I was having this dream to see the generation of miracles with kuroko play "again". THEN, I came to stumble upon this extra special.

My dream came true seeing this....

This has become an international level: American vs Japan, even though it's only a street basketball. And I'm excited to see the GOM + kuroko + kagami in zone with their perfect skills. At the same time I'm anxious to know their rivals' skills.

Kuroko no Basket: Extra Game has an explosive start. The first volume collects the first four chapters of the series. Picking up right after the conclusion of the original manga, Extra Game pits an American streetball team, Jabberwock, against Japan's best college players. Of course, a team of second-tier college freshman pulled from former high school teams of Shutoku, Too, Rakuzan, Kaijo, and Yosen are no match for the overwhelming strength of Jabberwock. Led by Nash Gold Jr., an 18 year old that magically has the same stats as Steve Nash, and Jason Silver, a center based on Wilt Chamberlain, Jabberwock dominates the Japanese college students. No surprise, considering the manga states from the outset that (really pushing the boundaries of credulity) Jabbberwock can "knock the socks off of NBA players."

What makes Jabberwock surprising is Nash Gold's borderline racist diatribe against Japanese basketball players, suggesting "everyone in this country who's just pretending to play basketball should quit and then kill yourselves." Where this first chapter leaves us is with the Generation of Miracles, the greatest (highschool...) basketball players in Japan, gearing up to take to the court together and beat Jabberwock. The patent absurdity of a bunch of highschool kids, Japanese or otherwise, taking down college students who play at the level of NBA players (another slightly less absurd conceit of the story) barely needs to be noted. In fact, perhaps the comfortable rhythm of ridiculously inconsistent and untenable skill hierarchies that most shounen manga are forced to fall into make Extra Game better rather than worse.

As the volume continues, readers are treated to a standard training montage and one of Kuroko's foolhardy speeches about basketball being for everyone. Seeing the Generation of Miracles play together and be pushed to their limits is an absolute treat. Even more satisfying are the moments when Kuroko and Kagami enter the court alongside the Generation of Miracles. Thus, team Vorpal Swords is born. An Aomine and Kagami team-up is more than any fan of the franchise could hope for, and they certainly deliver in their matchup against Jason Silver. The brief shots of Kagami's Jordans are also extremely satisfying. Though the volume, predictably, ends with team Vorpal Swords on the ropes. But just as Aomine and Kise enter the zone to double-team Silver, the action only promises to escalate in the second and final volume of this series.

I loved how it started, it's so intense.. I know only a few people would notice this, but I can't believe Reo-nee cut his hair off!! I loved his beautiful loreal's hair.. T.T I had problems recognizing Bakagami from Aominecchi, they are too similar.. }:/
