If you could be positive that all hardships, pain and difficulties you encountered would lead you and the ones you loved to boundless happiness, to what extent would you be willing to suffer? How much would you be willing to surrender? How much would you be willing to lose? My name is Scarlett Chamberlain. My answer is everything. Twenty-year-old Scarlett Chamberlain and her family are forced to live a life in hiding after her father is killed by the Kephale, the immortal council that governs Amaranthines. Scarlett and her family are only half-Amaranthine and in the eyes of the Kephale, they are considered a disgrace to immortality and are in need of immediate eradication. Scarlett spends her days with her longtime best friend, Landon James. They’ve been in love for as long as they can remember but one thing stands in their Amaranthines receive a special imprint and their soul-mate bears the other half. Scarlett and Landon’s imprints do not match, therefore they are not meant to be. When a stranger enters Scarlett’s life, possessing the other half of her imprint, she is torn between following the rules of her kind and listening to her heart. However, none of that will matter when the Kephale comes knocking at her door.

Desiree: If you had continued to read on, you would find out why Scarlett felt like she could confide to the stranger in the woods. It goes with the story. {Spoiler Alert} The stranger, Wesley, her soulmate. She's drawn to him. They have a connection and she feels like the can trust him right off the bat.
Maybe Scarlett starts off a little immature. She's feeling sorry for herself. She's clinging to the one constant she has: Landon. If you had given the story a chance, you would've seen Scarlett grow into a strong, admirable character.

I devoured this book in just one day. I just couldn't put it down.
20-year-old Scarlett Chamberlain has been through a lot. She's lost her father and she's lost her freedom.
She clings to the one constant thing in her life - her best friend Landon James. He's been there for her through everything. Their love for each other is nearly impenetrable. They'd do anything for each other.
But...you know how the saying goes: You hurt the ones you love most.
Scarlett's an Amaranthine, an immortal that receives half of an imprint. Her soul-mate has the other half, which is how Amaranthines know who they're meant to be with.
The real kicker is that Scarlett's in love with her best friend and their imprints don't match.
When she finally meets her soul-mate, there's a battle between doing what's right and following her heart.
But that's not her only problem. Scarlett's family has been on the run from the Kephale, the head of their kind. They are determined to finish off her family.

What I loved most about Imprints is how Scarlett feels sorry for herself and how she grows to be so selfless and strong.

This is definitely a must-read!

I really don't understand the few negative reviews and low ratings for this book.
I quite enjoyed it. Yes, the main character is a little immature at times. But that is what I find makes this book. If she were perfect, it would not be realistic. She's flawed, just like all of us.
Yes, Landon is possessive and controlling. But he's fighting for her love. He's competing against her soul-mate. Of course he's going to fight dirty and be irrational. He's not giving up easily - even if it means his tactics aren't fair.
I love how Scarlett goes back and forth between following her heart and doing the right thing. Her family is known for breaking the rules and she desperately tries to break that cycle to avoid the consequences. But it's not that easy. No matter how hard she tries, she can't control who she loves. The heart wants what it wants.
I really, really enjoyed this read and for a first book, I think the writer did a fantastic job.
Looking forward to seeing more from this writer and seeing how her writing grows.

Reading Imprints was an experience.
A fucking fantastic experience.

This story was so captivating and heart-wrenching. It pulled at my heartstrings over and over again.
I felt so much heartache while reading this. While there were lighter moments, the majority of it felt heavy and emotional.
Scarlett is one of those characters that feels things much deeper than others.

I continued. “My heart has been filled with guilt, grief and fear. The truth is, I never truly took the time to mourn the loss of my dad. Instead of getting over his death, I let it consume me. He had been taken so quickly, in the blink of an eye, and it made me realize that everyone I love can be taken just as quickly.” I took a deep breath and let my gaze travel to the wall behind Landon, unable to look into his eyes.

Scarlett's still reeling from her father's death. He was murdered right in front of her.
She misses him but still harbors some resentment. He let his desire for vengeance outweigh his love for his family, or so Scarlett feels. She has a hard time getting over that, the sadness that her father's gone and the anger and self-doubt that his love for her wasn't enough to stop him from getting revenge.

I love Scarlett's relationship with Landon. There's just so much love between both of them and even though they aren't soul-mates, their relationship doesn't lack in the feels department. At times I just wanted to scream and hug them all at once.

Imprints just doesn't disappoint. You'll love it from beginning to end.
This is a must-read!

There are those kinds of books that just stick with you. The kind of book that you stay up reading until your eyes burn and you can't comprehend sentences. The kind of book that you think about when you wake and right before you go to sleep. The kind of book when you're out and about and see a street sign that reminds you of it.

This book is just...wow.

It's about love.
It's about sacrifice.
It's about tragedy.
It's about following your heart.
It's about warring between what is right and what is wrong.
It's about death.
It's about murder.
It's revenge.
It's about redemption.
It's about life.

I can't stress how fantastic this book is. For a first book, I'd say this new author did an outstanding job!

This book captivated me from the beginning. What a story. A story about difficult choices and sacrificing everything for the ones you love. It has a little of everything - romance, humor, suspense & fantasy. There's a love-triangle and normally I'm not a huge fan of those. However, you will like both contenders. They're both lovable in their own ways and you'll be rooting for both of them.
I love the MC Scarlett. At times she's stubborn and acts on her emotions, which drives you crazy. That being said, she's not perfect and neither are we. Her intentions are always good and her growth as a character is fantastic.
This is a definite read for all!

Another Did Not Finish. I liked the summary blurb and it was a promising plot. Unfortunately, within the first couple of chapters, our lady of the hour spills all her vital secrets to a stranger she meets in the woods five seconds prior, and I lost all interest. Fast.

Way to protect your family and their secrets. Sure, he "saved" you from an "attack", but you have no idea if he didn't set up that very scenario to give you a false sense of security. You have zero idea of his identity and don't know what his intentions are.

She's an idiot and I don't care about what comes next.

I really loved this book. It had an enjoyable co-existing human/immortal fantasy world that fit well. This book made you think about the classic question of what exactly a soul mate is, choice or fate, which is a feeling we can all relate to at some point. You really feel the push and pull between the soul mate of choice and the soul mate of fate as well the raw emotions Scarlett feels for both. I would have loved for the book to have been expanded and longer at the end, as it was a great ending and I would have loved to delve into it more, however reflecting back I still enjoyed the ending. Overall, a great book and an amazing and creative author. I cannot wait to read Chelsea Ashley’s next book! 😍😍

I enjoyed this YA romance. The focal characters are initially quite raw, even naive, but they also develop more intensely as the plot thickens through interesting twists and turns.
For a first-time author, I believe Chelsea did a magnificent job, and I look forward to her next books!

I adored this!
Chelsea's writing style is so unique. Her words are lyrical and she has an incredible talent for painting a beautiful story. She kept me guessing until the very end.
I seldom read a love triangle and root for both contenders. I just couldn't decide who I liked more: Landon or Wesley. They're both loveable for all different kinds of reasons.
Definitely a read for all!

I'm pleasantly surprised! I really enjoyed Imprints from beginning to end.
I love books that have character growth and this has plenty of.
Scarlett's reeling from the death of her father and on the run from the organization that killed him.
Scarlett starts out weak - having a pity party, feeling responsible and plays everything safe.
But she learns that doesn't work and ultimately pulls up her big girl panties and fights for what she wants: Safety for her family and freedom of choice.
She's an Amarathine, immortal and the imprint on her body connects her to a man she's ever even met. The man with the matching imprint is her soul-mate. But here's the problem: She in love with her best friend Landon, who also happens to be an Amaranthine. Their imprints don't match and there love is forbidden.
Scarlett and Landon are adorable. At times I wanted to punch them both but I honestly ship them so hard!
I don't want to say much more because I don't want to spoil all the good parts.
All in all, I give Imprints 5 stars!

5 Stars!
I devoured this!
Chelsea Ashley is a new author and I absolutely love her. This is her first novel.
I saw an ad for Imprints on Facebook and the summary pulled me right in.

I love how much I could relate to Scarlett. She's strong, yet sensitive. She's stubborn, in both a good and bad way. I love how one moment she can seem selfish and then you realize just how selfless she's being.

She's been through a lot. Her father was murdered right in front of her and she has to spend her life in hiding. She's in love with Landon, yet destined for someone else. Scarlett and Landon's love is epic - it's frustrating and passionate. I LOVE THEM!

Imprints may not have many reviews or ratings, but it's totally worth the money and the read!

Give it a chance and it'll speak for itself! Definitely a fan of Chelsea's work!

5 Freckled Stars!

Can we just talk for a second about Landon?
I'm seriously in love with him! *Swoon*
And Wesley. *Swoon*
You get the best of both worlds...a bad-boy and an old-school gentleman.

This took me by surprise. I usually don't go for books with hardly any ratings, but the summary pulled me in.
I read it in less than 24 hours and I have absolutely no regrets!
Don't let the lack of ratings and reviews dissuade you! This is a must-read!

5 Stars!

I may be a little biased...being the author and all.
But hey, I'm proud of this. :)
I hope that anyone who reads Imprints can feel all of the love, hard-work and dedication I put into this book.
I hope it entertains you and takes you on a beautiful journey. And when you've read it to the end, I hope that you put it down with a smile on your face and know that it is a story you'll never forget.
Imprints is my first novel but it definitely won't be my last.

I found this book to be heavy on the relational aspects which were very immature and light on the story aspects. I wish I had not bought the book.
