A Man Stands to Protect Humanity

A great, thrilling adventure into a world most people never know about, where extraordinary people sacrifice all for those on earth.
This author continues to write outstanding stories of fear, sacrifice, and suspenseful behavior by enemies. Even though this is a novella, the excellence is maintained as we follow Colt Griffin on an admirable journey.

For starters, Black Force shorts are purely plot based books set within a time frame of a few hours. They are just fast paced action sequences with little room for story and character development. Yet they are narrated in such a manner that you'll feel drawn to the protagonist and will root for him. So when a Special Forces operative Colt Griffin is in Bhutan for a soul searching, he gets a call from an off the record agency Black Force to take down a group of mercenaries protecting a group of scientists making a deadly virus called Chimera. Griffin reluctantly accepts the job. What comes next is gritty and grisly action sequences one after the other. Action adventure lovers are going to enjoy it a lot.

I love Matt Roger's books. They're fast and furious, to steal a phrase, and putting them down is near impossible. These shorts certainly help fill the gap between novels and I've loved each and every one. He's able to bring to life each individual and his descriptive writing is able to bring you into each place as seen through the eyes of each hero. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book in return for a fair and honest review. Please keep them coming, Matt.

Matt Rogers belongs in the ranks of Brad Thor, David Silva, et al.

With the finish of "The Chimera", I've read all of Matt Rogers' work thus far. His characters, story lines, and knowledge of the world of Special Forces, Black Op's , and converts agents, makes him equal to anyone writing in this genre today. Yet another discovery of a rising Star, Thanks to my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

An MR. Black Force Thriller (BFSB - 2)/South Africa

MR. has. penned the second Black Force Short novel, which contains the release of a new untried Black Force Operator who is vacationing in Africa when he accepts an assignment to stop a bioterrorism unit from spreading a Chimera. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

About the same as the first in the series. I was sort of hoping to get to know a character more deeply, but this time, it was a different operative. I did like getting some insight into the operational echelon-- I can see that getting interesting if there's more in future books. Still just feels very episodic without much to really care deeply about.

An entertaining tale

It felt like a book chapter. Not the kind of book I am used to reading but I never felt the desire to stop reading either. This is my second book with this writer and I continue to look forward to reading

Beast Mode

A shame Griffin had to expire at the end. He could have made interesting action reading like King and Slater.

believable and downright scary.

Astonishing that there are men who are willing to sacrifice all for the good of the world. Realistic and very concerning .

One outcome

Quick and deadly, the writing and the plot. A little less talk and pondering would be good, but the ending is appreciated.

One of the best series out there right now. I've already finished books 1-5 and am halfway through #6! Non-stop action from 'cover to cover' and a thrill of the highest caliber.
