If college taught me anything, it wasn't this! The name Melanie Brooks was meant to be credited beneath a riveting story, unveiling secrets that shock the world and delivering them to the public with savage grace! That name should not, however, be associated with, personal assistant. Maybe my new boss, the ever inscrutable and darkly handsome billionaire, Jackson Braun, might have some stories to share, while we cross the Atlantic on his mega yacht! Who knows, I might be able to finally get this stagnating journalism career going, if not something a little more salacious. Easy to put down, hard to pick back up.
This is a short novella (130 pages) that should've only taken a few hours to read but I spread it out because I just couldn't stay with it.
We are given bare bones info at the beginning - she is going on this yacht to be an assistant to a billionaire - but we are never told what he does or what she's supposed to do. It's so vague, confusing, and frustrating. What you assume is a yacht with only a few people aboard slowly becomes like a cruise ship with hundreds.
The characters are not consistent in their personalities or demeanor or the way they talk. The storyline feels like high school drama, it is extremely juvenile and it's just all over the place. I can't even tell what the real plot is.
This is part one of a trilogy but I have no interest in seeing what happens next because I didn't like the characters or storyline - whatever that may be.

Awesome book. Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Exclusive Advance Reader Copy of this book.

First book in a trilogy.
There are times I like how the plot is going, and when something gets interesting the plot goes elsewhere. Kate and Jackson's attraction do not feel real to me. Ar times, they act like they are in High School.
