An ancient evil is gathering power throughout the cosmos, and it falls upon the legendary SPACE RIDERS to kick its a**! Having disbanded, the crew of CAPITAN PELIGRO, MONO, and YARA must reunite for what may be their final ride! The cult comic that electrified comic readers in the brain RETURNS to blast your fragile human psyche into oblivion!! Collects issues 1-4.
The most metal comic book that's ever burned itself into my eyeballs. The equivalent of being tapped directly into the brain of a 12-year-old if he was awesome at drawing Mexican Space Captains that fight Skull Gods.
Torn here because the art is so amazing that this deserves a billion stars but the plot in this volume is so simplistic that it’s barely more than an outline. Bad guy, kill bad guy, swear a lot. This could have been so much more developed and explored, giving the characters some depth, but instead it was just rushed and done in no time. It was a let down after the first book to be honest. But! And a huge but! This artwork is incredible and almost any panel would look tremendous as a poster on your wall.
You just dropped acid, went on an intergalactic, interdimensional journey with the most fearsome badasses in space, and saved the goddamned universe. Saddle up with Peligro, Mono, y Yara because it's time to ride and the galactic deities that existed before time aren't about to back down. Seriously, this one is a hell of a lot of fun.
A more layered read than Volumen Uno, otherwise more Kirby-inspired, Pope-rendered, psychedelic galactic adventuring across dimensions, barely stopping for breath, unless it's to hurl base insults. A treat.
Five stars for the art, one star for the writing. Seriously, the dialog reads like it was written by a fifteen year old edgelord (apologies if this actually was written by a fifteen year old edgelord). But the art, oh my god, THE ART. It’s as off the lovechild of Jack Kirby and Mike Allred went on a mescaline bender, watched the movie Heavy Metal, and then decided to make a comic. I mean that in the best possible way, I would turn each page with such anticipation to see what awaited, I was/am so in love with the art. In short, the writing sucks, but if you’re a fan of psychedelic cosmic doom artwork, then this is worth picking up for that alone.
Absolutely my kinda shit. Fluff reading, for sure, but filled with an undeniably attractive insanity. Has all the bravado, violence, and swear words I love in pop culture genre fic, with an added dose of genuinely brilliant cosmic fuckery. I don’t know that Kirby would be proud, but he would be entertained, that’s for damned sure!
It's big and bombastic. Far more than the first one. It feels more like a climax than a volume 2. Interested to see what volume 3 does considering they fight SATAN and call upon a GOD to defeat him. Absolutely amazing stuff still of course. I cannot WAIT for volume 3.
La historia a veces es ñoña, está mal estructurada, los personajes son planos, pero no se sabe por qué funciona. Quizá por el dibujo flipante, por las desbarradas, por el color... Pero mola.
A little weaker than the precedant opus. I love the psychedelic artwork, but the main characters; Capitan Peligro, Mono and Yara just don’t have enough depth to them. I would’ve like to have more backstory about the events of the book. It felt like it was a bit thrown in there without context.
