Beautiful Biker book 2. The ride continues...
Rider Valentine's Story.

Rider Valentine’s family, all members of the Dominion Brotherhood MC, opened up a new charter and three businesses in a new town. The Wyld Jackals MC do not want them there and are determined to make that point in a variety of violent ways, including using Dominion Brotherhood women to do so.

Rider has never tied himself to just one woman. But, when a certain gorgeous girl he's spent some time with is suddenly in danger of being the Jackals’ next target, things change.

Jenna Murdoch has always tried to be a good-time girl, but guarding her heart because heartache is not a good time. Something about Rider makes her see potential and what could be. Can she trust letting her guard down with a good-time guy who seems to like playing games with her heart?

There are sexual assault accusations and Rider has an explanation, but there’s some pretty damning evidence against him, and Jenna decides she’s not interested in playing his games.

Despite Jenna trying to retreat, Rider is determined to keep her safe from the Jackals by any means necessary, even if it includes handcuffing her to his bed.

How hard will Jenna make him work to win her over? Can Jenna overcome the things she knows, the things she saw? Can she trust him? And will Rider simply lose interest once the threat is neutralized?

The beautiful biker series contains standalone but connected and overlapping stories. Each book focuses on a different couple. Reading in order will provide the best reading experience.

In book one of the Beautiful Biker series, Ella’s best friend Jenna was interested in Deacon’s brother, Rider, and after spending the night with him, told Ella she’d spent the night with the father of her future children.

But then she got that video text with that very damning evidence that Rider was someone she should stay FAR away from.

In Detour, we heard that Rider had chained the very angry Jenna to his bed in order to keep her from putting herself in the Wyld Jackals MC line of fire. How did all that go?

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟STARS
WOW!!!! just wow!! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Joyride by D. D. Prince and what a journey, I pulled an all-nighter to finish this so great was this stories pull for me.
I just couldn't put this down, I was enthralled from the opening scenes, right to the finale and this is a long book let me tell you, so my eyes were gritty from lack of shut-eye by the time I finished.
So so worth it, who needs sleep anyway it's overrated.
So Joyrider itself can totally be read, in my opinion, as a standalone, I will say reading Detour first will definitely give it that something extra and really enhance the whole experience, it isn't really necessary know.
But if you do want my advice read Detour as well, it's also a fantastic read that doesn't disappoint.
So this is set in the same MC world as the previous book and features two of the supporting characters Jenna and Rider.(The Best Friend and Brother)
Joyride basically tells the tale of the development and growing feeling between the two, while also focusing on the misunderstanding and trust issues that arise along the way.
In my opinion its a tale of two halves the before and after and you will see what I am referring to when you read this for yourself.
I also made that initial mistake of taking these two good time guy and gal at face value from the previous book as this is how I perceived them both to be.
The lesson I took away here is don't always judge a book by its cover sometimes you need to open the pages and read.
And this is something Rider especially had to learn to do as he slowly came to realise that he had done just that Judged a book by its cover.

 photo tenor_zpspcmgp3fq.gif

and with the still ongoing issues of the Dominion Brotherhood MC’s War with the Jackel's Jenna gets caught in the crossfire as events implode in dramatic style.
So I really adored both main characters like loads and what made them so likeable was their sheer relatability.
I found both to be highly flawed in a lot of ways and it's so much easier to identify with normal flawed human beings.
I especially adored Riders humour and how he was able to add a lighter tone to events while also knowing when to change track as his intensity was needed.
It was also this humour that I think helped to smash down Jenna's walls and let's face it a sledgehammer was needed to totally obliterate these.
Jenna herself was high maintenance with a capital H, events surrounding her childhood have shaped her into the woman she is and Rider can totally identify as he just gets it with his mother being the way she is also.
They have this in common, a thread connecting them together.
Jenna herself I wanted to shake her constantly, just so she’d see some sense.
It was like she was on a fast track of self-destruction, self-sabotaging behaviour and as I watched, sometimes at times with sheer disbelief, dumbfounded at her actions.
I wanted to give her a swift kick up the ass and scream OMG girl really.
This, while still also understanding the logic behind her self-saving conduct.
I have never wanted to strangle a character so much while at the same time give them a big hug and say everything’s gonna be ok girlfriend.
Joyride itself had me laughing and crying and was so much more emotive than what I was expecting.
and boy did I laugh at the many varied comebacks and banter between Jenna and Rider.
And then in the next breath cry at the truly heartbreaking events also occurring.

description

It was angsty which I don't always like, here it didn't bother me at all, maybe because I was just so captivated by the whole story.
I should also mention Joyride is written from Jenna's POV, again not an issue for me, my only real concern with this style of writing is sometimes it can fail to capture the complete profile,of in this case that would be Rider.
I didn't feel that here, I felt that I got to know Rider as a man equally as much as Jenna.
Oh and while I'm rambling on here my new fave word, ALPHAHOLE love it, and I found this cool pic and written quote to explain what one of these males actually are.

 photo ahole-chart 1_zpst4pgwkni.jpg

As you can see from above chart, alphahole’s controlling tendencies push him to the very edge of a-hole spectrum. Any more a-hole and we risk entering Shades of Gray territory. Please note that caretaker hero type falls closer to alphahole on the a-hole spectrum than to beta male. Caretaker hero is driven by an overwhelming urge to protect and take care of the heroine and in the name of keeping her safe, he might exhibit serious alphahole tendencies, as demonstrated by Edward in Twilight series.

I got the above handy explanation from http://www.ilona-andrews.com/brief-an...

Just for the record Joyride is full of Hot Alphaholes. fanning myself here.
So back to it, the story here flowed and I was transfixed throughout I also loved being able to revisit Ella and Deacon and the many diverse individuals that make up this world.
So to conclude Joyride was a fantastic read that I immensely enjoyed and I have no issue recommending to you at all.
And this here ends my rambling, this is hands down my favourite read of 2018 so far.
You so need to just pick this up and give it a chance.
I was provided with an ARC of Joyride from the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

2.5 Stars, Rounded Down

This was fine, I just didn't believe in their love to be quite honest.

The hero's cultivation of the relationship was ultimately incongruent with his actions and words to the heroine in a way that just made me not believe in them. And their chemistry wasn't that great, especially when the sex scenes were almost purposefully awkward, the hero going as far as saying the heroine was NOT great in bed. And actually meaning it.

What do you get when you have a high maintenance princess meet a sometimes alphahole beautiful biker? You get the ride of your life of course! Joyride was a joy to read from start to finish. Rider and Jenna are combustable and Joyride ran the gauntlet of emotion for me. I went from laughing so hard, to panty dropping hot, to mad as hell, to so extremely sad. When a book can evoke that kind of emotion, it deserves more than 5 stars! Dee Dee Prince can WRITE books, and this Beautiful Biker Series has me all wrapped up. I am so invested in the lives of all the Valentine's and Dominion Brotherhood that I can't wait for the story to continue. I loved this book!

2nd read: 2020
1st read : 2018

I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

After reading and loving the first book of the ‘Beautiful biker’ series very much, I was really looking forward to the second book. I was also very curious and a little bit nervous about how this story would go because we already met Rider and Jenna (him being the brother of Deacon and she being the best friend of Ella) in the first book and therein we discovered that Rider had a very ‘wild’ side and a turbulent past. So I expected that this couple would have a very difficult journey ahead of them. And I was right!! But I must also confess that the more I got to know Rider, the more I felt for him. And that made me very happy.

Wow! I really enjoyed and love this story. After reading ‘Detour’ I had my reservations about Rider and his wild sexual taste but the writer convinced me that that was his past. That he had finally found THE woman that he wanted to share his life with and I adored that! It was wonderful to see how Rider never let go of Jenna, not matter what. I, personally, found ‘Joyride’ more intense then Detour but then if you have a guy like Rider that isn’t a surprise. It was great seeing everyone back, friends, MC brothers and family.

‘Joyride’ is told from Jenna’s POV. I really liked Jenna. She was a great friend and boss. I really liked the fact that she needed time to accept Rider turbulent past and his taste for darker things in the bedroom. That she didn’t immediately said ‘yes’ to everything he wanted. But then the sex scenes were very steamy!
The story was also very flowed and although it had many pages, it was never boring! I would personally recommend that you read Detour first, because then more things will be more clear to you.

I’m really looking forward to the next book in this MC series!

First I just want to point out that Joyride was absolutely amazing!!
I was so glad that this storyline picked up with book 1 and didn't conflict with it and it was very easy to follow and connect the incidents from both stories.
I never imagined where this story would take me or the joyride I would take while reading this book. Jenna and Rider story was fierce their attraction for each other showed throughout the whole story with the back and forth. Rider was ruthless I could never get mad with him and I swear I laughed so hard at some of his actions as well as felt his pain when he let it be shown. Rider was hardcore and rough around the edges man his mouth was unfiltered..lol! Jenna boy she was strong to endure what she has growing up in a cold household but when it came to Rider she was lost but in a good way she needed to see only what he could show and give her the love she was so desperately seeking. This whole book was awesome and you couldnt help but to fall in love with the existing characters and can't help to be excited for their story. This story will definitely take you on that Joyride you are reading about.

Oh my goodness! Jenna and Rider’s story is sensational. At times I wanted to smack Jenna for her fighting with Rider and other times I wanted to hug her because of her insecurities.
This couple met at a time when so much chaos was going on in each of their lives. So it was quite rocky and crazy at times. But oh the chemistry between these characters was off the charts 🔥
Loved this story and can’t wait for more ❤️
This is a reread for me although I never posted a review years ago

Like a trainwreck I could not look away from. If you like the push-pull, constant break-up drama between 2 immature people, this might float your boat. For me, it was just tiring to read about H/h breaking up over something every five minutes. This book made me laugh though coz our manwhore Hero said the heroine is a stuck up bad lay. Honestly I don’t get their attraction to each other aside from their mutual shallowness.

First, if you haven't read any of DD's books, you need to. She weaves an intricate web that completely transports you away from real life. No distractions. That's why we read, right? Her characters are deep and well-rounded. If you don't want to share their soul, you will want to be their best friend (or off them yourself).

Joyride is the second book in a series; the first was Detour. This story's timeline runs parallel to Detour. The additional POVs add even more body to the characters and story, which will give you the best kind of book hangover. When you are done with this book, you will want to read Detour all over again. Sleep is overrated, anyway.

Rider and Jenna... DD created sexual tension that is off the charts. Don't even bother with undies, you won't need them.

Have fun!

Holy Hell!! Jenna and Riders story made me feel every emotion you could think of in a romance series. Geez my anxiety was through the roof a good bit of the time with these two. But with all that it was an amazing beautiful ride.

Jenna is Ella’s bestie and Rider is Deacons brother from the first book. We got a lot of the same story in the beginning just told from Jenna’s POV. Also there were events happening at the same time that we didn’t know about in the first book, so we get a little insight into that.

Jenna is a high maintenance drama queen. She knows this about herself. She meets Rider in there family bar and they hook up a couple times. The second time they were together Rider leaves right after sex and gives the impression he won’t be back for more. Jenna is hurt she thought there was more growing between them. About this time is when all hell breaks loose with the war between the rival club and Jenna is moved to a safe place she really doesn’t wanna be. Rider has a change of heart and is now treating Jenna as if she is his and let’s just say the drama queen comes out swinging. There is a lot of assumptions made about each other and miscommunications. They both come to realize they misjudged each other. Well Jenna does take a while longer to figure things out.

I love a book with an awesome alpha male even if he is a tad bit of an alphahole at first. Rider definitely made up for it. I love a man who doesn’t give up and fights for his woman. He did a lot of that. I loved this book! Can’t wait to the read the next and I’m really excited to read about Jojo and Chris. D.D. I’m gonna need you to get on that one please :)

DD Prince is one of my favorite new-to-me authors, and for me, that’s saying something. I am extremely picky in what makes a book a five-star read, and so far, each of her books has hit that mark.

Joyride is book 2 of the Beautiful Biker series, and chronicles the relationship of Rider Valentine and Jenna Murdoch. (If you’ve read the first book in this series, Detour, you know that Rider is Deacon’s brother, and Jenna is Ella’s BFF.) You don’t need to have read the first book in order to enjoy this book, but I highly recommend reading them in order to get a more comprehensive understanding of the situation that Jenna and Ella find themselves in with their bikers, because these two stories intertwine/overlap.

Jenna and Rider first meet when Rider and his MC set up shop in town and reopen the local watering hole. It’s lust at first sight for both of them, and while Jenna is already having thoughts of something deeper, Rider is struggling to reconcile the version of Jenna he meets outside of bed and the Jenna he meets in bed. When shit hits the fan between Rider’s MC and their rival MC, Rider does whatever he needs to in order to protect Jenna. Whether she’s on board with that plan or not.

Jenna learns some things about Rider that she decides she does not like and tries to end things (several times, in fact.) Rider is not having it, and though Jenna eventually comes around, she really makes him work for it. (I love that, because I like a bit of struggle in my love stories. Easy might be nice, but it isn’t very entertaining. I encourage authors to toy with my emotions.)

It’s a beautiful thing to see these two dealing with their own histories and becoming vulnerable with each other. Even when shit got ugly.

What a ride.

This story has all my favorite things: an alpha hero, a feisty heroine, steamy sex, gushy romance, and a shitload of angst. Bonus points for dirty talk.

DD Prince is an expert in crafting the ultimate alpha-hole (alpha asshole) that you either love to hate or hate to love. Sometimes both at the same time.

This is the second book in the Beautiful Biker Series – and we got a glimpse of this romance in Detour – so the first few chapters did feel redundant; though I did enjoy a different perspective to the circumstances in the first book.

Rider is the younger brother to Deacon – but he is more of a humorous person and he follows the work hard play hard rule. While he can be a jerk at times; he can also be sweet and quite charming as well.

Jenna is Ella’s best friend and is quite the drama queen – tbh, sometimes she did get on my nerves, she is also a strong woman, but also vulnerable.

Rider and Jenna have a very contentious relationship – while Jenna fell for Rider almost immediately but Rider was only up for the fun times! But when the MC’s problems put Jenna’s in crosshairs also changes Rider’s perspective on Jenna and monogamous relationships.

There is drama in this one – almost too much sometime; yet it was something that I was actually in frame of mind to enjoy this drama filled romance.

I can’t wait for the next installment in this series! I wish it would come soon!

One of my favorite things about literature is to find a book that can make me feel all the emotions. This is an example of this. At times I found myself chuckling out loud and others I wanted to scream . I vacillated in my emotions a lot in this book. One of my favorite things about this author is that she writes with such detail and precision that the reader becomes entwined in the story. They can visualize every aspect of the story as if they stepped onto the pages of the book. This author does not know how to write a short story and as an avid reader I appreciate this. It doesn't matter what she is writing, whether it is a paranormal, alien, mafia or MC romance, she gives it everything and does not scrimp.

This book is a continuation of the Beautiful Biker series and follows Detour. It can be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend reading it first to truly appreciate what is happening in the story. It gives a new perspective or added details to the same events which was much appreciated.

It is the story of Jenna and Rider. Jenna a complete princess that was very high maintenance and the opposite of Rider in every way. Her love of material things wasn't because she was snooty but instead was a coping mechanism to hide her true desire which was to be loved. Rider. Sweet holy hell. I need to know what they put in the water in his neck of the woods because the Valentine men have sex appeal in spades. I love his mouth and how steadfast he is in regards to his feelings toward Jenna. I wavered a couple times with whether he was was genuine because of his actions in the very beginning but then the pieces fell into place and I didn't doubt his intentions. He had the patience of a saint which is good because Jenna could have tried even the patience of Pope Francis. The steam in this book...holy titfire. This author can write steam. She could even make a nonsmoker need an after sex cigarette.

If you like MC romance then give this book a try. Then, go back and read all the books. There isn't a bad series out there.

What a great book!!
I really liked the first of the series but screwed up and read the Epilogue... didn't do that this time. Also the first book at the beginning had way too much of in her head thinking. Thankfully this one didn't.
This is Riders and Jenna's story. Jenna is basically a good time girl. No, she is not a whore or anything of the sort but she likes to have a good time and never let's a man get too close. She has had her heart broken too many times. She is considered "high maintenance". Runs her own salon or should I say she is working to show her parents that she can run it and it's supposed to be hers after a five year plan. She lives above it in her own apartment.
Rider is a good time guy. Maybe sleep with the same girl a few times but that's it. Oh yeah, Rider is part of the MC.... He's the middle son. Rider meets Jenna in the clubs bar and they hook up a couple of times. The other MC that the Dom's are trying to take down thinks they are a real item so her life is threatened so Rider has to protect her . First he has to make her realize she really is in danger. That is most what this is about and how he goes from just a hookup to really falling for her and getting her walls down.
This is about finding who you really are and how letting people in. Not just Jenna but Rider too. This is about family. Not just the family you are born to but the ones who become your family.
If you like MC books like I do and don't want a little short story but a full length book this is a series for you and well worth the money. Adults only please

Joyride is the second book in D.D. Prince’s Beautiful Biker series and it gives us the middle one of the Beautiful Biker brothers, Rider! You probably could read it as a standalone but as some of the timeline overlaps with the others in the series then I would recommend reading them all in order. You will get so much more out of all of the stories!
So, Rider, what can I say, he is one beautiful biker that has the females falling at his feet right and left and he believes that there will never be the one woman that will tie him down and when he has his moments with Jenna it does not seem that she is the one either … well, let’s through into the mix Ella and her kidnapping and drama and the whole chessboard changes and finally, Rider needs to fight for a woman and he needs to do some soul searching to decide whether he will stick through thick and thin and climb the walls that Jenna has built around her and oh my, that demolition of those walls is one intense undertaking!
There are many lessons that both Rider and Jenna need to learn AND these are the lessons that we all need to keep in mind when going around in the world and judging the books by their covers … so having the characters that are deeply flawed and who work hard for their relationship … heck yeah, relationship goals, here we come!
Of course we have the underlying Dominion Brotherhood and Wyld Jackals war going on and yeah … take hold of the edge of your seat

You know the writer is “worth their salt” when they can write a book and make their readers have strong feelings and reactions. I loved the first book. And I definitely love this book. Jenna I get on my nerves quite a bit, but Rider is such an alpha male it makes it easier to deal with her antics. I love the series and can’t wait for the next book.

Rider and Jenna 😍. Seriously.

Rider is way different than his big brother Deacon. Things get off to a bumpy start for Rider and Jenna. She’s playing it cool with him but she’s secretly gaga for him. He’s interested but after giving her a couple chances he’s looking for a bit more vulnerability and a little more umm….enthusiasm in the bedroom.

Then the shit hits the fan in biker-land and Jenna’s in danger. Unfortunately she’s decided she’s ready to scrape off Rider after learning some unsavory things. Only now, Rider has decided he likes her fire and doesn’t want to be scraped off.

You have to give Rider credit here. He never really gives up on her after he’s decided to claim her and boy does she make it DIFFICULT. She’s a big overthinker and the MC drama provides various times for her to get in her head while he’s off doing MC stuff. Like, you feel for her, she’s just trying to not get hurt and the stuff happening around them is rough but you also just want to shake some sense into her. Even when he backs off it’s to draw her back in because ultimately despite her deluding herself that does doesn’t want him - she DOES want him and panics internally when he gives her any space. Rider has the patience of a saint with her.

This one is definitely angstier than Detour but it’s sooooo good. Seriously, if you haven’t read this series you are missing out. The Valentine boys are something else.

Epilogue

Safety - so Rider has a colorful past, he was a raging manwhore and didn’t hesitate to participate rough sex including CNC gangbangs and threesomes. His past definitely plays a big background role (particularly the aforementioned CNC gangbang) but it’s truly his past. He’s all in with Jenna. I understand her insecurities about how wild he was before her but she truly doesn’t need to fret, she is all he wants she just needs convincing.

Jenna also gets a bit jealous a couple times when she sees him talking to Gia, a club bunny he’s had relations with previously, there was no funny business there though.

Jenna’s awful mom tries to set her up with a dull guy she approves of but he’s no threat to Rider & Jenna and he gets the message.

The low rating from me is due to my extreme dislike of the hero - there was a lack of connection and I simply couldn't believe in the main relationship. He was a jerk all the way through, which would be fine, except that I felt like he was never redeemed, and I didn't see this as a dark romance, so I didn't understand his continued disdain for the h. He had particular sexual fantasies/kinks that bothered the heroine (and the people around him - there was a weird fake gangbang subplot). He went ahead with them anyways. He seemed to really want Jenna at times, but he told her she was bad and lazy in bed. That scene really bothered me because he was moving her around into all sort of positions, barely giving her a chance to catch her breath, and then told her she was lazy - he didn't even let her move around on her own! How was she supposed to be anything other than involuntarily passive?! It was such a weird and mean comment that he never really apologized for. He also kept calling her high maintenance - she owns a beauty shop - her job is literally maintenance of that sort! It's a very demeaning, dismissive, sexist sort of insult. I just don't see how/why they actually liked each other, other than having friends and family in common. I can't find anything redeeming in his treatment of her. I didn't find anything sexy about it, at all.

Absolutely fantastic steamy and angsty read, would totally hit a 6th star on this if it was there! I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Rider from the small glimpses we get of him in the Detour, but I totally loved him. I don't normally like books this long but the author kept the story so entertaining and moving along throughout the whole thing, almost 500 pages later and I still want more of Rider and Jenna. Something else that made it such a fun read for me is the multiple settings, I don't think enough books do that. I love a good series that makes you want to get to know the side characters as well and I am looking forward to reading Spencer and Pippa's story. I was also very intrigued by the other bikers, especially Brady and was excited to see that some of them may get stories as well. I didn't see Bronto mentioned, but I hope we get something for him too, even if only a quick read.
