This story was filled with strange and peculiar situations. An unexplained attack on a cruel nursing professor propels the plot forward in a big way. The reader is drawn quickly through the story collecting clues along the way. However, it is still impossible to determine just what's going on in the story until the very end. I loved the drama and suspense. I also thought the chemistry that quickly ignited between very strong characters Lucy Shaw, Student nurse, and Garrett Worth, University Police Officer, bounded the whole story together adding so much interest and emotion to the total story. Another wonderfully written story and so very easy to read!!! Five Stars !!!!!

Lucy is divorced and in the nursing program on Galveston Island. She is in her last semester doing clinical. The woman running her program is Nurse Dagsby and she is mean to everyone, especially Lucy. Lucky goes into a patient’s room one day and finds Nurse Dagsby on the floor unconscious. She immediately starts doing compressions on her heart and yells for help. Lucy saves her life, but she is not conscious and is put in ICU. Garrett Worth is with the University police and comes to investigate what happened. He ends up asking Lucy on a date.

This book has a lot about nursing in it which was interesting. Lucy gets involved in Nusr Dagsby’s family and their problems. Lucy didn’t have a good first marriage and doesn’t know if she wants to get involved with another man even though she has strong feelings for Garrett. There is also a mystery going on that involves Lucy. It was a good book. I encourage you to read the book.
