Rate this book
From the Dust We Rose, is an upcoming collection of haiku and short form poems written between 2014-2016 in response to the non-indictments of the murderer's of my people (Black folx). These poems were written from anguish and fury, surprisingly though, what came to the page was hope.

These poems are so good I didn't want to finish the book. Ociele has put her brilliance and pain and resilience and sorrow and hope out into the world in such abeautiful way. I wept and laughed with her words, and they have made me a better person in the collective struggle. I'll carry these words in my heart for a long time.

Ociele's poems are brilliant, devastating, and powerful. Each syllable is packed with deep care, love, and rage. So good.
