This is the story of a young man named James Hennessy, who came from a two parent struggling household and only dream was to go to Georgetown University and get drafted to the NBA. He does all that he can to help support the family by stealing food and looking after his younger sisters, but one day that just isn't enough. He meets a drugpin by the name of Tone, who threatens James' family, and the rest, as they say…is history.

James slowly gets introduced to the street-life that his parents tried to keep him from, and gets caught up in a situation, while earning the name Nyce. The one person he depended on (his girlfriend Keisha) turns out to be the one who turned her back on him. He is determined not to trust another woman and chase his money…until he meets Aneesah aka Anonymous.

This 💎💎💎💎💎book is a part of the Anonymous Series by @authorshatayasimms, and I highly recommend it. This is one character that will be embedded in my brain for years to come, because the author developed him with such swag and finesse. Ladies, do yourself a favor and go pick up this book.

Hear me out

Okay so I read the Trilogy and am just now reading Nyce story. I wasn't going to bc he had peed me off in the Trilogy. But it was highly suggested that I give him another chance...I mean he cool now or whatever.

This was enlightening I hate that Tone did what he did as far as taking him under his wing cause he had such a bright future ahead of him. But at the same time what the brotherhood and wisdom he definitely needed.

His parents irritated my soul...mainly his dad bc Sir wtf are you? I understand working to provide but the has to be balance. And there's no way that they didn't know Nyce was doing all that he was at such a young age.

Baby Vi and Kiesha trifling scum! Like I have no words at all!!

After reading Living Anonymous, I was so glad to see that she had written a prequel of sorts called Nyce that focuses on James Hennessy's backstory. James Hennessy affectionately dubbed Nyce by the Hood for his nice hooping skills didn't always live the good life. In this book we get to see his meager upbringing and what he went through before he resorted to street life. We see his true background with Keisha, his siblings, his connect, and more. Shataya writes stories that you can savor. They don't feel rushed and are always well developed. Can't wait to read more from this Author. I said it before I will say it again she is bring QUALITY back to Urban.

Mannnn

Why did it have to end. Now Nyce is embedded in my head! Loved it! I really wish there were more books that I could read from this author. She is truly talented. I got to experience the younger Nyce and how he became what he is. I would have like to know his side of what happened when he went to Vegas and what he endured with Tori... so I can dislike her even more.... and to really understand “what the hell was Nyce thinking?”. Whenever I read a series and it’s embedded in my memory.... I consider it to be truly a gem of writing. Fantastic job! A series that everyone will definitely enjoy!

The Man

Thank you Shataya Simms for Nyce’s story. Tone groomed Nyce to replace him.Tone was smart but his business came with greed. Tone in the process is making money with Knuck, Mookie and Black. Money over b itches.......is the motto. However as Nyce learns his puppy love using him and a skank with his sister Vi Casanova does not have shid on him love of his life appears in the gas station...history is been made! 10 *****

Nyce

This is definitely a necessary addition to this series. The story tells us of the upbringing Nyce had, his family life & even how he got into his lifestyle. If you were to skip his story, you would be under the impression that he loved what he did & even chose to be the way he is. But here you find a much different Nyce. Also, you find out about his past love life. This is about a young boy that had to grow up way before his time.

It was good to hear Nyce story. Now I have a better understanding of him. Vi is foul for turning her back on her brother. Never turn your back on your family. We know how him and Knuck became friends. Good book!

Worthy.

Wow, this book is beyond refreshing. It was so decent to read about Nyce's background and helped me understand him better. The way that him and Knuck connected was hilarious and tearful, actually I shed a few tears at times.

Definitely a good read.

Nyce

New author you say you are. Well you definitely can't tell that by this amazing story you've written as you debut to the literary world. Captivating read from the start and it only pulls you in more and more the deeper the story gets. The characters are well developed and the story flows effortlessly. This is one story you would enjoy reading. Well I know I did. Congratulations on you first release. I sure many more are to follow.
