Sparks fly when a ruthless alien warrior meets the one woman who can save his soul...
Toran NaLosen has no future and no hope. His path is bleak: die at thirty or sacrifice his emotions to survive a few more years. Stranded on Earth and far from home, the last person he expects to meet is the one woman meant for him, his denya.
Iris Mason protects the Earth in her own way by investigating threats and reporting on them to the Sol Defense Agency. At work she's thriving, but personally the past year has ground her down and tested her resolve. Still recovering from the implosion of her last relationship, she doesn't want the risk that comes with a new man. But when her job puts her on a collision course with Toran, a lightning bolt of desire hits her and has her questioning everything.
These adversaries must forge an alliance if any bond between them stands a chance, but it may not just be their hearts at stake. An ancient foe of the Detyen race lurks wherever they look and he has a new target in his sights: Earth.
Each Detyen Warriors novel can be read as a standalone. Enjoy feisty women, alpha aliens, fated mates, and relationships hot enough to steam up your screen.
This book was... bad! It exists just to bridge from book #1 to #3. I didn't care for the MCs (they had sex in the most inappropriate moments and I hate that!)... All you get from here are smudges of who destroyed Detyen, but not the why...

Author Rudolph📚 does a great job of describing this fantasy look at Earth 🌎 society in the future, where visits by 👽alien races are common.
2.75⭐️ This book is fine. It’s missing something. The main characters of both books are boring in terms of love. They hold nothing for me in the feelings department. There was something almost robotic about the approach to the emotions of love throughout this entire book and the book before it. I let that go in the first book that I read in the series because the male main character was supposed to be “soulless“. This MMC was not soulless. He also wasn’t ruthless at all. I held onto the storyline after reading book one because I wanted to see how this would play out because the plot is really good. However, it’s not good enough for me to bypass the writing style and the emotionless romance that was in the book. Overall, I will not be continuing with this series. however, if you like a decently executed plot that feels a little cut off at strange points go for this book. There was nothing inherently wrong about the book. It just felt a little odd to me.
Fantastic story! Characters that will steal your heart. A storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat and glued to your kindle! For me it was a love- hate deal as the characters face their demons. You will feel their emotions and struggles. A definite must read.

I loved this book! The world Ms. Rudolph built was rich and interesting. The story kept me hooked from page one. And the characters are awesome. Love sexy, strong, touch characters. I look forward to the next book in the series and highly recommend this one.
Toran and other Detyen Warriors have returned the kidnapped females to Earth. However, they did not expect to be treated like prisoners! They may be called guests but they are not allowed to leave! But when his Denya walks into the room, he has no plans on leaving without her. Pity she is there to essentially interrogate them!
Iris is a spy and her newest mission is to assess the danger Toran and the others pose to Earth and if they are as benevolent as they appear. With both their missions at stake Iris and Toran head off to a resort on the moon to track down Yormas, who is believed to have been complicit in the destruction of Detya and in cahoots with the Oscavians who kidnapped the girls!
Sci-fi, spies, fated mates and a tightly scripted story...what's not to like! Reads like spy movies from the 60's/70's like Our Man Flint but with more story LOL
Iris Mason, a consultant, looked out at the barely seen Potomac from the Sol Defense Agency building. The outside of the building was unassuming brick and chipped paint, but the inside was sleek grey and contained the latest in technology. Her contact, Selma, joined her and passed her a disc with details. But the summary was that days ago, an alien ship brought eleven women who’d been abducted from Earth over the past three years, one of them the niece of a United States senator. They brought with them three operatives from the Sol Intelligence Agency and four alien Detyens. But 12 women had been abducted, and they doubted the story they were given for only having 11. So Iris was being assigned to Toran NaLosen to find out what he was hiding, if he was a threat, or if they should allow him to go home.
When the Detyens rescued the women, they were still looking for clues as to who ordered the destruction of their planet 100 years ago. One of the human women recognized the name of someone called Yormas of Wreet, currently an ambassador on Earth. It may not be the same person, but they needed to check it out. Toran was working out in the gym when he heard the door open. He made a joking remark about Dryce’s sexual appetite as a woman’s voice responded. He was speechless when he turned and saw her – his Denya! Iris was equally speechless – his pictures did not do him justice, and his scent was driving her crazy! Why was she reacting this way? She hadn’t read any warnings about this! She blamed it on alien sex pheromones! But she definitely couldn’t get him off of her mind! Would she realize how important she was to him? Would she return to his planet and make her life with him? And would they work together to find out more information about Yormas and what happened so many years ago that may threaten Earth very soon?
This was a wonderful book, well-written with excellent characters. It was refreshing to see the different personality types with Toran nearing 30 at which point he would die if he did not find his Denya, Dryce who was the perfect smiling and fun playboy, and Kayde who became soulless to extend his life a little longer while he waited to discover his Denya. The story line was good and kept the reader’s attention. Grab your copy and enjoy the continuation of this adventure.
Toran, commanding the Detyen Legion contingent on Earth, is ruthless. His life is dedicated to tracking those responsible for the destruction of Detya a century earlier, and no other mission takes precedence. Until SHE walks into the room - the human woman, his denya. If a Detyen reaches age 30 without his life-mate, his denya, he dies. The denya mission trumps all. SHE happens to be Iris. Iris is a spy, and her mission is Toran. She assigned to make certain Toran and the Legion mean no threat to Earth. But can each one's missions and cover stories and all the spy craft destroy the denya bond? Nope. For that, the are Oscavians, and Yormas of Wreet. Yormas is suspected of being responsible for the destruction of Detya, and the Oscavians are the slavers who kidnapped a dozen Earth women, and they are sending messages that relate something on Earth to something about Detya... Wheeee! It's like reading one of Ian Fleming's 007 novels - Bond and his Bond Girl spying and sneaking and escaping and improvising their way through dangerous adventures on the moon and back to Earth, one step away from doom, and they still have time and energy to scorch the sheets. Dang! they ought to make a movie of this one! Thank you, Kate Rudolph, for the ARC, and the throwback thrills, and keep 'em coming! This is my independent and voluntary review: I LOVE IT!!
Iris and Toran are determined to protect their people... but are they at cross purposes, or on the same path?
Toran is leading a team of Detyen warriors... who Iris is charged with investigating. He is protecting his people... a world away, but she is protecting her people, here, on Earth, and needs to determine if these Warriors came here with hidden malicious intent, or have been honest with the humans.
The more Iris gets to know Toran, the more she begins to understand he has been as honest as he can be... and the more she understands someone in that position can not be 100% with representatives of a world and government with which he has no alliance, and no proven trust.
Clearly the second book in a series, where I have not yet had a chance to read the first book... plenty was shared to make the story accessible to me, but I was also left feeling like there was a lot from the previous book I wished I knew.
This was a very character-centric story that acted like an action-driven story... but as the story ended I felt like very little had happened/been uncovered in the grand scheme of things. That being said, it did feel like the characters had been on quite a journey, and I am curious to read more in the series... I just wish it felt like more territory had been covered within this story -- which reached a satisfying conclusion.

Such a cool world this author has built; love all the aliens and the way the denya/mate connection works! Loving this series so far! In this one, alien Toran isn’t a Soulless; aliens that give up their souls to live past 30, but does work with a group with some Soulless involved. Toran still needs to find his denya/mate before he’s 30 or he’ll die. Toran and his group are being held on Earth by the SOL Defense Agency; until they are cleared of any deception for the events that happened in the first book. Iris is sent in to investigate the group and determine their innocence.
It just so happens that she is Toran’s mate! Toran is obviously on board, but human Iris isn’t in the know about the whole mates scenario. Plus, she’s supposed to be investigating his group, and she has walls up because she was an idiot about men before, but that connection between them won’t be denied. Toran and Iris end up on an adventure to find out more information about a potential bad guy, so their connection continues to grow. Loved their sweet passion!
Loved the Moon setting; wasn’t a fan of the club scene, but it was fun how the Moon is being used as a fantasy resort type place. Some really cool ideas for futuristic elements and loved the bits of action to the story. Some good danger and excitement! I’m just loving the whole vibe of each of the books in Rudolph’s alien series! Excited to read more!
Hmmm.Toran NaLosen, an alien Who rescued a group of human females that were kidnapped. He is approaching his 30th year. At this point, typically a man of his species who has not made it by now is doomed to die. So he has excepted his fate because he has not found his mate well on a mission. While being detained on earth, so an investigation can be handled and in walks and woman with a scent that attracts his senses. Iris is her name is Denya is her fate. **** Spoiler alert! Iris noticed “ His skin had appeared golden, but not that far off from the tones she saw in some humans. In person, he was a work of art, ... He gleamed. Dark splotches and triangles dotted his arms, ... reminding her of a stalking jungle cat who waited in the trees and dealt death with a single blow. He was looking at her... with a predator’s gaze, ...ready to pounce.” A quote from the story. ***** Which all this going on I don’t understand how Iris could concentrate with him around. But Toran was making steam in the most craziest of situations. Almost like he need the contact to stay alive. Had to reread certain places to make sure I didn’t lose my place when the steam arose. They find their way to HEA.

A contract job to assess the threat level of a group of aliens who have landed on earth while returning 11 abducted women turns into a much bigger job when one of those aliens turns out to be Iris's mate. Particularly when she is dragged down the rabbit hole of mystery and intrigue behind the group's mission to discover who destroyed the Detyans' planet. She's got a comparable skill set for that job, but while it's a bit out of her league, she provides a unique enough perspective that her skills compliment Toran's. They each explore the mystery of their relationship while navigating the greater mystery of the destruction of the Detyans' planet. Just enough information is revealed to suspect there is somehow an even bigger and more sinister threat than the destruction of one planet, but just enough to activate the imagination of the reader and the investigators.
I found Toran likable, and good for Iris, however she just wasn’t believable as a spy (getting caught, obviously talking when she should remain silent, having to rely on Toran to save her, etc) and I really wish she was mentally stronger (not rude, combative, contrary, etc - as so many ‘strong’ women are- but truly strong, knowing her strengths, using them and praising the strengths in others). Her chosen profession also didn’t mesh with both her personality, ability nor her actions. She did make him happy, so there is that. The writing was good, it just wasn’t one of my favorite books by this author.

I started this series much later on and found it a fun experience going back to seeing the Detyen in the early days on Earth. Of course, things do not go smoothly for them but at least they aren't the first aliens to make contact with us. They do get detained for rescuing some human gals, though, to assess the threat they may, or may not, pose to Earth. A consultant is brought in and do the sparks fly between her and one of the warriors! A ton of action and suspenseful moments are interspersed with intimate moments, cementing their sizzling chemistry. It's an exciting read and now I have to go back to the first book in the series to see how it truly all started. Good fun!
When Iris was asked to investigate the Detyen involvement in the release of the human females abducted from Earth she never expected that their leader would become her mate. Toren had discovered the females while searching for leads on who was responcible for the destruction of his home world. Toren and Iris agreed towork together and with the help of the General they were getting closer to the answers when Isis was captured. This was an exciting read full of danger and desire as the answers and a similar threat to Earth make captivating reading. I look forward to more books in this series and perhaps more Detyen/Human matings.

I love good sci-fi. Where the story is really well crafted, written and delivered in a way that I can understand and relate to. This series is one that definitely meets those goals! Toran is the strong leader, flummoxed by his friend Raze’s behavior after finding his denya- mate (that story is in book 1, Soulless.). The Detyens have returned 11 freed slaves and three SIA spies back to earth. The complex and intriguing story unfolds, full of spies, torturers, a plot to destroy Earth, our strong and capable heroine, and Toran finding his denya. Sizzling hot action on the moon, on Earth, and in the bedroom kept me engaged and wanting to jump right into the next book!
Iris is a consulate for the SOL defense agency. She has been given the assignment to find out if a team of Detyens lead by Toran can be trusted. They were part of the human \ detyen team that saved a group of human women. Toran is a detyen. At age 30 if they did find there mate they died or become a soulless and give up his emotions for a few more years but they need their denya\ mate to have a real life. The man they are sure had a hand in destroying their world is on earth. Yormas of wreet. Love the action, drama, mystery, intrigue, and spice. This story has it all. Great characters, fantastic storyline. I couldn't out it down. Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it
This was my first book from Kate Rudolph and Starr Huntress. This is the second book in the Detyen Warriors Series, a great Sci-Fi/Aliens Romance. This story can be listened as a standalone, but I wish I had listened to the first book in the Series before. Toran and Iris are great characters. They are soulmates, and they share a sizzling chemistry. The storyline is complex, intriguing, and action packed. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series. The world building is well done. Ian Gordon and Jennifer Gill did a great job with the duet narration. I enjoyed my listening. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook — at my request — and have voluntarily left this review.
Detyen Warriors Without a mate, Detyens died at the age of thirty due to an evolutionary trait. Since their home planet of Detya was destroyed, this is a huge problem and their race was on the verge of extinction. The only survivors were the warriors that were off planet the day of its destruction. The remaining legion have vowed to discover what happened to cause the devastation. As soon as Toran sees Iris he recognizes that she is his denya, his mate. They are both drawn to each other which is tricky since Iris’s job is to assess whether or not the Detyens are a threat to Earth. I received a free copy of this book. Iris is tasked with gaining information from the Detyon Warriors that have arrived on Earth. They brought kidnapped human woman back to Earth and are missing one and are not saying what happened to her. Toran is stuck on Earth until given permission to leave. When he sets eyes on Iris he realizes that she is his mate. Iris has an immediate attraction to Toran and doesn't understand what happening. As the two of them are together to find answers to the destruction of his planet things get dangerous. Will they survive? A fantastic story

Toran is the leader of a small group of Deytan tasked with mission to return the rescued women back to earth. Also there on earth to find out who destroyed their planet and bring them to justice. Iris is a contract working for the government who’s sent to investigate the aliens and make sure their not there to destroy earth. When these two get close Toran realizes that Iris is his denya his soulmate. So when Iris finds out Torah’s true mission she is all aboard to make sure that justice is served to the evil aliens plotting the destruction of her planet.

Second book in this alien romance. Toran is one of the Detyens. They all are gorgeous with different varying skin colors. He is the leader and part is a group that saved eleven human women who had been kidnapped and shipped into space. But now he is on earth and so ready to leave and continue his work for his people. Iris has been sent to figure out if the Detyens can be trusted. Soon she will be pulled into a dangerous world where Earth may be destroyed. The story has a very spy feel to it with plenty of adventure. The romance is sweet and even though they both feel the pull they don’t jump right in.
Ruthless was quite enjoyable in the Detyen world. Iris was great in her role as a consultant, taking on those jobs that no one wanted to know about. Toran has a lot of secrets that he needs to protect for his people. He also must watch over his men. There is a lot of responsibility riding on his actions. Too bad his mate is standing in front of him. I enjoyed going along with the flow of the romance and the intrique. While it was stand alone, I'm not sure that I would have enjoyed it as much if I hadn't been following along with previous stories.
This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. Toran has no future or hope, he will die at 30 unless he finds his denya/mate. Iris protects the Earth by investigating threats and reporting them to the Sol Defense Agency and not looking for love. But when fate puts them on a collision course with each other will they be able to resist? I really liked this sci-fi read. Toran and Iris are great characters, with steamy chemistry. The story has plenty of drama and suspense and keeps you entertained throughout. I loved it!
What a great book. I love the storyline of the Detyen Warriors, ooh I so could write so much about this book but I hate when reviewers spoil the story for other readers, so I can't. What I will say is Kate Rudolph writes great Sci-Fi Romances and her books deserve way more than just five stars. She writes an original storyline with believable characters that draw you into the story and has that magic that keeps you wanting to read more and more. I couldn't put this book down. If you enjoy Sci-Fi Romance then you will truly enjoy this series.
Toran and the other Dentyens are on a mission to find out who destroyed their planet a hundred years ago. Their adventures lead them to earth. Iris is sent to discover what the Dentyens want and if they are a harm to earth. She meets Toran and he discovers that she is his mate. Together they go on a trip to the moon colony to find evidence to use against an alien from another planet. I love the Dentyen books. The characters are strong and follow many adventures. I recommend these books to any alien lovers!
This is a really good story! Full of action, suspense, danger, pain and steam! I really love the main characters! Toran and Iris are so great! The heat is off the charts between these two! Yormas is a real piece of work and Varrow is definitely a sadist Although this is book 2 in the series it can be read as a stand alone read. The author does a good job with back history so you don't feel like you missed anything. However, it does make you want to back and read the first one as well as jump on the third story, Heartless, to see what next in store for the Detyens' and their mates.
Iris is investigating as to why earth women were abducted and brought back by Detyen warriors. She believes Toran and his warriors did it all along, but why bring them back? The warriors are treated as prisoners, but soon the truth comes out. The author has done a good job with all these characters, each different in their personalities all mesh wonderfully together to bring this story depth. I loved the sexy scenes of Iris and Toran.

Over all this book was pretty good! I liked the premise and the flow of the tale! Iris is sent to investiage if Toran and his buddies are for real or a threat to earth! however, she finds herself drawn to him and ends up assisting him in his investigations and falling in love with him! I did find the switch between voices a bit irritating at first but once I got used to it, it wasn't too bad and I found it helped to have a female reading the female parts!
I recieved an ARC copy of this and am leaving this review freely and without reservations
I enjoyed book one in this series, and this one is a good follow up. Toran and Iris are a believable couple who meet when she is tasked to question him about his activities. They are sent on a mission together and that’s when their link really becomes apparent. Characters from the first book are also involved and so it would be an advantage to read that one first. All in all a good read.
