NON-STOP ACTION. DAMSELS IN DISTRESS. CLIFFHANGER PULP THRILLER ADVENTURE...

"SAM SAVAGE IS A ONE MAN WRECKING CREW. DON'T FLY THE UNFRIENDLY SKIES WITHOUT HIM."
IN THIS EPISODE OF THE NEW PULP THRILLER SERIES:

When an unassuming, but attractive woman boards a plane for Italy, the last thing she’s thinking about is falling in love. Yet, that’s what happens when she meets the Sky Marshal, Sam Savage. Dressed in his worn leather coat, Levis jeans, and boots, he looks more like an adventurer than a lawman. But Sam Savage is also a prolific lover, as he proves to Mary when he invites her to join the infamous Mile High Club.

However, when the plane comes suddenly under attack by a pair of ISIS terrorists bent on skyjacking the plane to Yemen, or else detonate two separate bombs they’ve smuggled on board, any semblance of love and fun are quickly tossed out the window. Not only is the flight about to be blown out of the sky, but the only person who can stop the terrorists from succeeding in their grisly mission is Sam Savage himself.

For readers of Mark Dawson, Boyd Morrison, Wayne Stinnett, Russell Blake and more, Thriller Award New York Times bestselling author Vincent Zandri, invents yet another action/adventure character who most definitely should not be messed with. Think Bruce Willis meets Gerard Butler. This short read promises to keep you glued to your seat for the entire journey.

Nothing to write home about. The author is not a pilot; numerous items of implausibility throughout, such as relatively total understanding of oxygen availability at various altitudes and flying very, very low over the ocean with a requirement to do so, as well as pilot-copilot dialogue regarding ability to "make the field," ie, land at London's major airfield.

Dead Heading - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Dead Heading - a review by Rosemary Kenny

This Sam Savage novella tells of the Sky Marshall's 'dead heading' - aircrew code for a free holiday flight - on a flight from the US to Rome, after meeting Mary a demure temptress in the airport departure lounge. After accepting a drink from Sam at the bar, Mary leaves for her flight and settles down to drink and sleep her way across. She's amazed when
Sam turns out to be on her flight and the two hit it off so well they soon join the infamous 'Mile High Club'.
No sooner has 'the Earth moved' for the lusty lovers, than the plane follows suit, as a pair of terrorists detonate a bomb that destroys part of the cabin and results in one of the jihadists being sucked out of the plane to his doom!

What happens to Mary immediately after she exits the toilet? How is she in more peril than the other passengers?
Are the pilots able to control the plane's descent? Where does the remaining hijacker demand to be taken?
Is this possible? What action does Sam take next? Is he successful in his attempt?
How does he gain possession of the gunman's weapon? Can he disarm the second bomb in time?

As the battle rages in the cabin and the cockpit, time is running out for our intrepid hero...who will win and who will die
will definitely keep you glued to the edge of your seat and have you chewing your fingernails up to the wrists in terror and excitement at the brave man who alone can foil the foreigners' plot. I loved it and you will too - guaranteed!

Sam Savage - what a name, what a guy! The ladies love him and the bad guys should fear him.

This is the first in the series and is a complete story [no cliffhanger ending].

Here, Sam, who is a sky marshall, meets Mary. After they board the plane, their mutual chemistry moves to the bathroom. After completing their membership in the Mile High Club, they emerge to face a hijacking.

This a fun quick action movie read. Sam is a charismatic guy who you root for throughout the story - whether he's charming the ladies or rescuing the world.

I love these short little action adventures. The hero doesn't always make the best decisions, but what the hey, he's only human and it adds to the excitement. Great character development, not the cleanest editing job, and lots of non-stop action that is well choreographed. Zandri doesn't miss the details and that's a definite plus.

Dead Heading (Sam Savage Sky Marshal #1) was a great quick read by Vincent Zandri. Mary boarded a plane to Italy and never expected to fall for someone on the plane. She meets Sam, the Sky Marshal, and decides to join The Mile High Club. Unfortunately for them their airplane becomes hijacked. I enjoyed reading Sam's journey of trying to save the plane and passengers.

Quick action read

I actually listened to this as part of an Audible bundle. It was about an hour and a quick listen. (Also available on KU)

For the story length, there isn’t a whole lot of development, but still managed to be an engaging listen. The author even manages to sneak in a quick fling. This has a condensed 007 feel to it and I enjoyed it.

Narration by Andrew B. Wehrlen was good.

Looking forward to the next story.

I received a copy of this audiobook for free from the author/Audiobook Boom and am giving my honest review.

What Fun!!

What do Mary and Sam have in common? She is in business and he is in security. They meet at the airport before their flights. She's going to Rome for her vacation and he's flying, "Here, there, everywhere." But neither of them bet on the adventure that befalls them both when they embark on the flight from hell.

Exciting events in so few pages. The reader gets to know Sam immediately. All unnecessary words are cut out. Short and to the point. Save the passengers. Let the pilots save the plane. Recommended
