An Omega With A Secret...

Nikolas Lastir remembers. A night of passion with his lover turned into an inferno of fire and death. In the chaos he was separated from his partner and imprisoned by the enemy. What neither of them expected was for their midnight tryst to leave Nik with a secret baby. Raising a child alone is hard. Reuniting with his lost lover who doesn't know he's the father? That might be even harder.

Connor Crowe grew up reading stories about dragons, magic, and adventure. He often liked to imagine himself as a character in those stories, and as he grew older he began to write some of them down. He couldn't just write any old fantasy, though. As a die-hard romantic, he tells stories of men finding true love amidst adversity.

When you read a Connor Crowe book, you know you're getting action-packed fantasy mpreg that will make your heart race in more ways than one ;)

Wow... I thought book one of this series was very good yet I also felt like it could have been more polished than it was. In this second book the author took his writing to a whole new level and produced dragon perfection. What can I say... Mal and Nik were so well developed and complex I could not help but fall in love with them both and Lyria is sooo sweet and adorable. I love how the author continued his world-building in this book letting us learn more and more about his fascinating world! Reading this book was such pure joy I did it in one sitting and loved every page of it!

I must say that this second book was better than the first, or at least, I loved this couple more than the other one. I still think that the book missed something and this story had less plot, and added more questions without answer, but I liked the fact that Marlowe and Nik knew each other for years, since they were kids, then became best friends, and in the end, lovers and mates. I just wished that Nik would have kept the secreat about who was his little daugher's other father, a bit longer. I wanted to see the alpha's jealousy and possessivness, but all was revealed too soon. Maybe this was bcs the book was short, but I still wanted more.
We need some explanations, too many things, that are happening or happed are not clear, and I also wanted to know more about the five years they spent apart, with maybe some flashbacks. The thing that made me rate this book 4 stars, was the main couple, if I had to rate only the plot I'd have given 3 stars.

I feel like this type of writing is not for me: I need my plot well-developed, with no constant skipping from one thing to the other.
I think some scenes didn't really make sense here, the author probably had all mapped out in their head how this was going, but for me, it was difficult to follow the reason behind some behaviors or some plot choices.
If you're looking for a quick reading, with not much plot on page, but mainly the characters getting some horizontal tango then this is definitely a good book for you.

I kinda expected more dragons. And magic. And fighting. I mean the beginning was good. We even got a 2 hot guys wrestling each other with boners. That was very good. But the plot kinda flatlined after that. Sure there was some secret baby drama but it was kinda short lived. I guess I just expected more excitement from a fantasy book about dragons. Not one character transformed into a dragon during the course of this book. Have I made my desire for scaley, firebreathing badasses with wings apparent enough?🐉😕

This book wasn't as well written or as carefully checked as the previous one. Almost every quote is followed by a sentence fragment ("I didn't like you at first," She admitted.), "him" is used incorrectly (Him and Alec had left), citing is misused (it means to quote someone else), "Neither hide nor hair" is garbled (no hide nor hair), there's a stray numeral (to3 our chief engineer).
Aside from those distractions, the story is OK. It's about Marlowe and his separation from Nikolas during the fall of their fortress. When they reunite, it takes some work and a crisis to repair the relationship.

Decent story and second book in this series, but I do have to say that there were a lot of grammatical errors and silly mistakes that did distract me from the story.

For one thing, "Him and so-and-so" is NOT correct, it needs to be "He and the so-and-so," and I saw that several times throughout the book. There was also even a random number 3 next to a word! So, yes, needs a stronger editor for final corrections, I guess.

I really enjoyed the overall story with the dragons getting their home back, and Marlowe discovering that his mate is still alive. (I just wish he'd kept his mental link open 5 years ago b/c he would have heard Nik! C'mon!) When they find each other again, they have to work to get back together and I did enjoy their romance. The mpreg here is quick folks, pregnancy is 3 months long! :P

The Alpha might not get his second chance. His former mate is so angry with him. The Omega felt deserted and very anxious. Overwhelmed after a pregnancy and imprisonment for five years. Forgiveness is not going to be easy for him. War changes people (Dragons) but so does fear.

The Omega was afraid to trust again and risk both he and his daughter getting their hearts broken. It's hard being the mate of the second-in-command with all of his Alpha responsibilities and lack of time. How is the Alpha going to make up for all the lost time with his Omega? How is he going to help him as well as his daughter feel wanted and loved?

What's an Alpha to do with so many in the Clan depending on him? The Alpha has got to get his priorities in order - quickly! Or miss out on the best thing that ever happened to him.

This is the second book in the Darkvale Dragon Series and although, it can be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend reading them in order.

Fate has bought Nik and Marlowe back together again but will old flames reignite or has everything been lost for good?

This was a nice, easy yet enjoyable read. The characters were great and Lyria was adorable especially, with her innocent questions. There were a couple of funny scenes that made me laugh; my favourite was the hot, naughty scene at the healers hut lol.

Perfect addition to this series. Who would have know what would have happened after that initial short read in Dualing the Dragon after they finally got together. Marlowe finally finds his way back to Nick, even though he thought he was dead. Things are not initially easy for them but as a mated pair, the finally work out their issues and come together as a family. There are still things lurking out there and hidden dangers. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

This is a great second installment in the Darkvale Dragons series, it picks up were Alec and Lucien's story enede. Marlowe and Nikolas' mating was interrupted just as it began, fast forward almost five years and they get their second chance at HEA.

I like this series, but I feel like the books should be a little longer so I can connect better with the characters more. However, with the little time I have with them I definitely enjoy them. Marlowe was sexy, sweet, and sassy. I loved the dynamic he had with Nik.

The second book is as good as the first

Again, I love this writer and how he pieces things together rich story, rich characters, and just a space of danger. Can’t wait to start the third book.
