A fun and quick read

Graeme has a great way with words and his cadence is of a talented campfire story teller. He brings you right along with his family as they journey through Central and North America like a friend to be trusted and let in on the inside jokes. A breath of fresh air.

Another great book by Graeme Bell. I love his insights and his views(although I might not always agree).
His writing style really drags you in and makes you feel like one of the family.

While Mr. Bell has a quirky relationship with superfluous commas, it mostly adds to the casual charm of his writing style. His earlier travelog covered the genesis of his family's decision to pull up roots from South Africa and travel the world in a Land Rover. This volume starts in South America, and moves up through the Central American isthmus to Mexico, the USA, Canada, back into the USA via Canada, back through Canada to the USA, into Mexico for an extended sojourn as the couple finished their "how to" book, and back again into the USA. Bell includes some perspective on an outsider's view of the US 2016 election, and decides we're mostly decent folk despite the political issues. La Lucha finishes with some discussion of the rebuild of the family's beloved Land Rover, removed the back of the cab, the entire cargo section and roof tent, and replacing it with a custom roof-extending camper box. Bell and his son learned to weld in order to accomplish this task, as they had no experience prior to purchasing the materials and making the commitment.

Truly an amazing narrative of a family going their own way in the world. It's not an easy life, but it certainly is interesting to read about.
