This set includes the three first volume of the Age of Night series, Kitty Cat, Pretty Kitten and Catnip.
Kitty Cat
Aisling has every reason in the world to like her life as it is: away from the shifter community. Tucked in her little corner of the world, she sees no reason to gets involved in the drama of the ever warring packs, until trouble knocks at her door. Trouble wrapped in a delicious package her cat wants to claw.
Raygan didn't know what he expected when he moved his pride to the loner's territory; maybe having to deal with a criminal, or someone in hiding. Instead, he found a fiercely protective, insanely attractive lunatic with secrets he wants to unravel. A lunatic who might very well be his fated mate.
Pretty Kitten
Out of every kind of paranormal out there, shifters are incontestably the least frightening; until now. It’s a closely guarded secret that some shifters are born with the ability to change ordinary human beings, and there are plenty of dangerous Alphas would kill to keep it under wrap.
A few months ago, Daunte’s biggest problem was hiding his attraction to the human woman he doesn’t want to destroy; now that she’s turned, those who don’t want her dead want to lock her in a lab, and worse yet, get their hands on the shifter who did it to her. His newborn nephew.
Catnip
Coveney has been wrongly accused of a crime he’d never commit, and it’s changed him, turning him into a cold, indifferent version of his former self. He lives for his position in the Wyvern Pride: protecting their territory, and serving his Alpha as Head Enforcer. Nothing else matters. Then, she appears out of nowhere.
Ava is tired of running, but what choice does she have? With her former flock high on her heels, stopping means dying, and her death may not just be her own.
May Sage is a USA Today Bestselling romance writer dabbling in different genres.
When she isn’t writing, she spends her time with her German Shepherd and her two Savannahs. She loves reading, ballet, running, and cake. Mostly, cake.
May Sage also writes longer fantasy romance novels as Alexi Blake.
Kitty Cat Shifters - I thought that nothing would surprise me on that topic, but I'm glad I was wrong! IT was a quick read full of backstory and emotions. We start with vision but can IT be changed? What are they willing to do just to protect their pride? Raygan - an Alpha that will make your legs shake, but due to his manly thinking mostly. And I would love to have his cat ;) Aisling - lone shifter that has her own way but will she be able to find herself with Raygan and others under her root? I really enjoyed her character as she was master of her own! I really liked the whole backstory as it was very detailed and full. That was new to me - different cat species in one pride - interesting concept!
Pretty Kitten Book two in the Age of Night series, you can understand this one without book 1, but I recommend to read book 1 in order to get full entertainment from situations in this book. Daunte got his book! YAY! I really liked him as he is dominant, but yet not intimidating as Beta. Why does he feel something to human women? Clari - a human girl, a friend of Ace. Due to some events, she got involved in Pride matters. What will happen when the life of everyone would be on steak? Who would betray their trust - the answer was shocking to me!
Catnip The really nice story with EAGLE SHIFTERS. This is so unique in PNR categories that I can only Thank Ms. May Sage for It! That was a really enjoyable story with really interesting World and action.
Enjoyable, but not perfect. Would I recommend these books? Sure, why not, just be prepared for some mates destined to be together by fate, no slow burn and although the pace is rather fast, some of the action happens behind the scenes.
There are three stories about cat shifters finding their mates.
Kitty Cat is about Rygan or Rye is it tiger shifter of his own pride of mixed shifters. He also took in a baby who is a saber tooth tiger shifter. His mate is Aisling or Ace, who is a kitty cat shifter and a owner of a bakery. Wolves from Texas want to kill the child because she is half wolf/cat shifter hybrid and they believed in pure bloodlines. Will they be able to prevent this senseless killing?
Pretty Kitten is about Daunte is the Beta of Rye's pride and Ace's brother. Clarissa is a human employee at Ace's bakery, who cared about Daunte. After the birth of the Alpha's baby Zach, the baby shifted into his tiger form. It wasn't supposed to be able to do that until puberty. Zach bit Clarissa and changer into a shifter. Will they be able to prevent a war over this?
Catnip is about Covemey, an tiger enforcer. Ava is one of the First Eagle shifter and she was wounded by a poison arrow aimed at Coveney. Being a First man that if she and her brother were killed, the whole bloodline would die out. Will they take back her homeland?
Now that I have left teasers hoping to encourage you to enjoy the books like I did. What I like about this bundle is that the story continues from one book to the next and you get a good grasp of the cat shifter's world. The characters have fantastic personalities, sense of humor, and are sexy. The plots are different in each book but brings more and more characters into the stories. Especially, the different mating couples different shifter species. The Alphas are a saber tooth tiger and a kitty cat. The beta and his mate are a tiger and a turned human. And lastly the enforcer and the eagle are mates. I enjoyed these books very much.
There are a lot of fight scenes in the 1st 3 books.
The 1st book is about the Wyvern Pride’s leader & him finding his True Mate while they (the pride) are on the run from a fanatic group of wolf shifters who believe that if your not pure that you should be eliminated.
Asling, is a lone “wolf” feline shifter & is the sister of 1 of the Wyvern Prides members & after she decides to help them she finds her True Mate with their Alpha Rygan.
2nd book is about Daunte, Asling’s brother & the Beta of the Pride finding his mate before she was accidentally turned by Zack the Alphas’ new baby.
3rd book is about Conveney the Enforcer of the Pride finding his True Mate during 1 of those fight scenes in these books. His mate however flies rather than walks on 4 legs.
Ava, is on the run from hunters who wiped out everyone in her family except for her & her older brother, who is also on the run. But, once she takes a poison arrow for Conveney, she finds not only a new home but a mate too.
All of these books have a good vs bad plot, some sex scenes & characters from the previous books in them.
Kitty Cat introduces the series. To protect his Pride, the Alpha male crosses into a loner female's territory. She removed the last invaders in a casket, will he be next or has she been a loner long enough? A pleasant start to the series. Basic paranormal romance.
The Baker and the Beta, otherwise known as Pretty Kitten. Can the Beta get some sweet time with the baker?
The Enforcer and the Eagle, otherwise known as Catnip. Both characters are defined and cool - and immediately and continually don't act in any way like their definition. Liked the romance, but that is it.
Each story has themes of family, action, and romance. The romance is nice in all of them and the family time is fun. Action - the first book action is amazing. The second book cuts the battle short, the delivery on the thriller action plotline which had been building all story with a god-smite resolution destroying all tension; the characters we been rooting for survive, but they had nothing to do with the winning. The third book not only has another god-smite to end the war brewing all book, but had the battle offscreen - so not even that payoff happens. And the author calls it out on herself through her characters, Ugh!
So Romance, family, and cool types of paranormals doing all types of things - rating "B". Thriller action plotline - a fail.
Age of Night by May Sage Kitty Cat (Age of Night #1) by May Sage – Raygan is the Alpha of a pack on the run. When his Beta takes them to crash at a mysterious woman’s house, all he can tell is that Aisling is going to be worth the chase. These two are fun! Bit of a blood bath, so be advised! Happy Reading! Pretty Kitten (Age of Night 2) by May Sage – Daunte has a crush on his sister’s human business partner. Protecting Clarissa, even from himself, is his first priority. When the pack is once again threatened with annihilation, they need to call in some interesting friends. Another fun couple! Happy Reading! Catnip (Age of Night 3) by May Sage – Coveney know the arrows being fired in his direction are poisonous, so when the eagle that warned them of the coming danger gets hit protecting him he goes after her. Ava may be on the run, but she can’t seem to stop herself from saving the tiger. The pack is going to get dragged into yet another mess with fated mates! Happy Reading!
This is a three "book" set from a series that has many more "books". I say "books" because these actually read are more like short stories from their length and word count. I like the plot ideas, the characters, and the genre, but I don't like the resolutions.
The resolutions are rushed, glossed over, and to a certain point, a "miracle". The first book ended very quickly, the build up was created over a few chapters, the ending took up a page. The second book had an outside source swoop in and save them in a page, the third book, we showed up afterwards.
I like the rest of the book, but the endings are far too rushed. The pacing isn't constant. It bothers me as a reader, and as a writer. The story could be so much better!
Loved having three kick ass stories in one. Rye and airlines story was awesome especially after learning about her and daunte. And what her animal looked like. They were so fun and adorable. And great HEA. Then day he and Clarissa. Loved it. It was adorable but I think she was his mate before the change and it just helped him solidify his stance. Love little Zach. Then Ava and Coveney. He is adorable and honorable and he was betrayed and hurt in the worst way. His old pride should be disgusted with themselves for turning on him and then letting Lorren live but j hues she was made to suffer a bit. Ava was awesome. Loved seeing him open up.
This three book set is the beginning of a series that revolves around the Wyvern Pride in Oregon. It begins with Rygen, alpha, a saber tooth tiger, and his mate, Ace. The second book features the pride's Beta and his mate. And the third is about their head enforcer and his eagle shifter mate. I warmed to the series more with each book. The characters were likable, the action and suspense were solid enough to keep me engaged, and the final chapter sets up book four. I'm looking forward to continuing with the series.
I am always on the hunt for a good romance and I especially like the shifter variety. I love even more that these shifters are cats. The best thing about May Sage's books it the amazing and strong women. You won't find any helpless damsels in her novels, or any Cinderella rewrites either. You will find sexy couples who meet each other on even terms and have stronger connections because of it. Thank you for writing the kind of romance novels every woman, and every man should read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series of books, I think mainly because I'm a cat person and the titles drew me in. The stories are fantastic and a great deal of fun, especially Ace. The rest of the pride are big cats but her's is small. Don't let that fool you though, she's one major badass. The pride seems to reel from one crisis to the next but they manage to solve their problems with a little help.
I think anyone that likes cats, big or little, will enjoy these books immensely.
Overall I enjoyed it. I had a hard time in the beginning, getting into the story but about half way through the first book I enjoyed it. I like the switching perspectives, however since you weren't told who you were switching to sometimes I would have to reread to figure it who I was listening to. Also certain things were skipped and a couple of pages later you would get the past account which I found slightly annoying. Overall I enjoyed the series so far, a little dramatic but good. Not sure if I'll finish the series.
So glad I bought these all together as a set because I devoured the books one right after the other! May Sage sucked me right in to each of the stories, and didn't let go. The world building in this series is phenomenal. The spicy, magnetic, and (dare-I-say) animalistic attraction between the main characters in each book is smokin' hot! If you like your books loaded with action, danger, and passion, check these out.
I did enjoy each story as they were unique in different ways and I loved the characters although at some points I wanted much more. Each woman was a strong and powerful in their own ways and not easily pushed around and the Men we all sexy Alpha Males who looked out for their mates and protecting them from harm. But I wished they were longer and more story was put into them
This was an enjoyable series. Although it isn’t a finished series, as there are more books to come, I will enjoy waiting for them and reading them. I typically do not like reading series books because it’s like movies that aren’t as good as the first. But with this series each brings a new aspect and a new joy. I like this Author as she has a wonderful imagination and it brings forth my imagination.
Age of Night is about three shifters in a pride finding their mates when they least expect it. There is danger, intrigue, laughter and sex. I loved the banter between the characters and how smoothly the story flowed.
Looking forward to each of the other characters getting their happily ever after!
Age of Night: Books One to Three was a great series by May Sage. It consisted of Kitty Cat, Pretty Kitten and Catnip. This book followed different members of a Pride. I absolutely fell in love with the characters and wanted the best for them no can’t wait to read more by May Sage.
Love this series. Each book follows another couple but each is completely unique and engaging. Highly recommend this entire Age Of Night series. These three are a great start.
I loved all three books from the edge of night in the series. I can't wait to read the other books in the series. Action-packed, funny I'm just downright good writing and Imagination.
A cross between cute kitty cat stories and steamy shifter romances. Kitty Cat has Aisling and Raygan getting their Alphas together. Pretty Kitten is the story of the Beta pair Duante and Clair human turned shifter. Catnip is eagles and cats, Ava and Coveney, both betrayed by their own.
Enjoyed all three stories. The plots made since and each story short of flowed together. However, I thought the first book, "Kitty Cat" was written the best. Nothing deep here, but if you just want a little light reading on a quiet night, this set is it.
This is a fantastic trio of books based on differences rather than similarities. A pride of cats accepting a variety of orphans which they defend at all costs. Mates just strengthen the entire dynamic. Riveting!
I liked each one of these stories. Each of these couples were great To her and apart. They were developed and made you feel you knew them. The stories were multi layered. Romance, action, suspense and horror. I recommend this book.
I really enjoyed reading the first three novels in the series. The stories flow seamlessly from one book to the next. They should be read in order if purchased separately, so you know the cast of characters and their back stories.
