Suzanne Cass has always had a fascination with the tough resilience of people who live in our amazing red-dirt outback country. Much of her adolescence was spent working as a jillaroo in the Snowy Mountains, forming her love of lean, enigmatic, cowboy heroes in wild, passionate, dangerous stories. When not writing about the characters that inhabit her head, Suzanne can be found prowling the Perth beaches with her border collie, or yelling from the sidelines as her two sons play sport. Her debut novel, Island Redemption won the Romance Writers of Australia award for best unpublished romance novel of 2016.
I absolutely adored this clever, romantic and suspenseful book. Suzanne's writing style is engaging, rich and vivid, and she instantly captures the attention of the reader with her complex characters and heart-racing action. I loved the foodie element too and the recipes - oh my goodness, divine! Highly recommended.
I read this book after learning it was a finalist in RWA's Ruby Award for Romantic Suspense and I wasn't disappointed! It's hard to choose what I liked best- the brilliant writing, the edge-of-your-seat action, the exquisite backdrop of the south of France, the hunky hero, or our clairsentient heroine. From the very first page, this book hooked me and it held me until the final scene. Although after all that non-stop excitement I think I might need to have a little lie down. I'm exhausted!

Glass Clouds: Her Dangerous Stranger is a departure from Cass's usual style and Australian set books - this one taking place against the backdrop of a beautiful villa and lavendar fields in the Provence region of France. Her Dangerous Stranger is filled with lush descriptions and colorful local characters who are fleshed out with complex backstories and personal histories that add to the intricacies of the story. I fell in love with both Charlize and Jean-Luc - the book has a relaxed, introspective style that truly allows you to get to know and care about the characters. Just the right amount of steam makes for a romantic read with enough suspense and action to keep you on the edge of your seat. An added bonus is the delicious sounding French recipes at the end of many chapters.
Falling for a stranger should come with a warning! I really enjoyed this book. It's really well written with great characters and a good plot. Besides that the pace is great and the setting lovely. Charlize is a recoving Austrailian cop who has run away to France to try and recoup. Jean-Luc is an undercover cop who springs into her life one day and takes away all her peace. Thrown into a world of people-trafficking and mobsters, Charlize is forced to come out of her cocoon of recovery and take life by the horns again. Really enchanting love affair between the would be strangers. Loved Jean-Luc's family home! Great book.
I’m not sure which part was the most annoying - the inconsistency (What was her ex-fiancé’s name, Shaun or Shane - both were used), the repetition (Is Merde the only French swear word that exists? In this book, pretty much!), the feeling that this was written by someone who visited France on a short vacation and did not learn enough about it to set an entire novel in that country, or using the name Jean-Luc for the hero and Pickard for his boss. I mean, why not name the villain Monsieur Borg if we’re ripping off Star Trek: TNG?
A thing? in my tummy... i can not understand how some one grieves for the baby that they lost during pregnancy and calls it a thing like some "Alien"... Found this novel to be slow to the point of boring.. It has some intense moments, as well as danger.. But it has too much in between.... Less is more, after all. The plot is good, characters? hmm.
I loved this book. The author does a great job of drawing you in from the first page and holds you in. The style of writing is easy to follow and is written in 3rd pov. Descriptions are perfect and at times you can imagine the scenery. The only downfall was a slight repetition and that didn’t really make a difference to the story and I found the recipes at the end of some chapters a bit tedious. I’ll admit to skimming over them as I’m not interested in cooking. I felt they’d be better as an appendix at the end of the book. All in all, I’d recommend this book and have added he to my list of authors I’d read again. The pace is perfect. The way Charlize and Jean-luc are portrayed couldn’t be written better. If you like a background romance intertwined with a thriller, this is for you.
I really enjoyed this book. The descriptions and detail in the setting was beautiful. The suspense was action packed and there was just the right amount of romance. Charlize and Jean-Luc really complemented each other. Would highly recommend this book.
