This book is so stupid. I don't like games. I was somewhat enjoying their bickering in the beginning but quickly turned to shit.
I thought the heroine started as weak, pathetic and a pushover. Everyone who knows her says so too.
Hero was an epic dick. I wanted reach inside my kindle and punch his stupid face up. He hasn't been celibate from the moment he met her, the things that come out of his mouth were disgusting.

This is what I'm talking about the stupid games. This stupid heroine told the hero she would've like to see him flirt with another woman. She thinks it'll be hot because she knows he wants her and he has a hard on for her but she sees him flirt with OW and when he touched the OW she got jealous. Oh he was all for it too he also thinks it'll be hot for her to watched him flirt with other women. This was just too damn stupid. They both acted like damn 18 year olds.

There's also the fact that she never had an orgasm with her boyfriend who cheated on her with her sister. This book is the biggest cliché there is. I fucking hate when things are left unanswered am I supposed to assume what I fucking want? Because then I'm assuming that he fucking left the club with the woman that he flirted with after he got into an argument with the heroine. And when he goes to see her at her apartment the next morning she doesn't bring it up so I'm definitely assuming that he took the other woman home and had sex with her then because everything that he has said or has come out of his mouth is telling me that he's a whore who likes to sleep around because he's single and he doesn't owe anyone anything. He tells her there he wants a relationship with her now but I could think about was did he fucking sleep with the ow? Did he just come from the ow’s place to asked heroine for a chance? I guess I had more sense the stupid heroine because like I said she didn't bring it up at all. It wasn't until later much later that she mention it and he said that she wasn't his "type" but that still doesn't tell me that if he slept with her or not because we all know in books even when the woman is not the hero's type they will always sleep with them.

I'm tired of authors trying to justified they write such manwhores in their books. There's no excuse for being a manwhore so don't give me a stupid excuse that his girlfriend stole his money and she broke his heart and he decided to risk getting a std for the sake of it. See how stupid does that sound? If a woman has sex with a lot of men she's a slut but a man has sex with everything and anything then he's a stud, a big man because he knows how to pleasure women. Do you think I really want to read about him knowing how to pleasure someone?
This motherfucker is a cocky, arrogant who thinks he has an elephant's nose for a dick.

“Fuck off. I’m not that bad.”
This really isn’t a conversation I want to be having in front of Savannah.
Brooke points. “I think about a week. You’re out every weekend with Toby and Max, and I bet you don’t go home alone every Friday and Saturday.”
Savannah’s eyes are trained on me, but I don’t dare look at her yet. She knows I’ve been with quite a few women, but I don’t think either of us planned to discuss the details. I have no desire to work out how many it’s been, let alone tell my girl. There are certain things that don’t need to be shared.
“When did you break up with your girlfriend?” Savannah asks.
She knows when.
Heidi puts her drink down. “I get where you’re going with this. He was nineteen, but the whoring didn’t start until he was twenty. He’s now almost twenty-six.” She shakes her head. “Kent, that’s a lot of women.”
“There hasn’t been one a week!” I snap.
My sisters laugh, but Savannah doesn’t. She’s very quiet.
I catch her eyes and hold her gaze. I only want you. Please believe that.”

Rolling my eyes so hard they went into the back of my head here.
He acted like a little bitch when he finds out about the heroine's ex, I don't get why because he knew that her ex did something to her but he didn't know what so why act like the heroine cheated on him or lied to him? He calls her a fucking bitch. Just because she never told him about her cheating ex. It doesn't make any sense at all. He breaks up with her just because her ex wanted to talk to her.

The end was rushed it was like the author wanted to shove everything in. Like her ex pulling a knife on the heroine because she didn't want to go back to him. Hero apologizing but wasn't enough grovel. The sister finding out her sister ex wanted her back and he didn't want her at all after the 3 years they had spent together. Like it made no sense to me.

Really, really enjoyed this novel. The last two chapters were the best and the epilogue ... how to put it ... made me chuckle. Excellent, it is!

Lie to Me is a good read. Savannah has ran from her family and ex and has started over. She keeps her past a secrets. Kent has had a bad past with his ex and he doesn't like lies and secrets. Savannah works for Kent's sister. At first I thought Kent came off as a jerk but he's just really jaded and guarded. In the beginning Savannah and Kent seem to hate each other but deep down there is more there. They both begin to crack and we get to see the real them and they hit it off. Of course the past come back to Savannah to cause problems. I might not have totally understood Kent because I really couldn't relate to how he reacted to Savannah's past. There were points towards the end that had me at the edge of my seat. I hadn't read any books by Natasha Preston before so I didn't know what to expect but I definitely enjoyed this one.

Non potevo non acquistarlo al volo *_* And now here I am, Natasha, I read it and...

I LOVED IT SO MUCH!

Eppure NON RIUSCIVO A STACCARMI DALLE PAGINE.

All'epoca non me ne sono pentita, ma ragazzi, adesso me ne pento eccome.
«Davvero?»
  «Sei venuta, Savannah?»
Le mie guance vanno a fuoco. «No» ammetto.

L'AMORE VERO.

Thank you so much for this story, Natasha. I really needed it ♥

I picked up this book practically as a mistake. I've got four or five books with exact same title ( OMG, why oh why do the people give their books same titles??... Originality?... Never heard.)
Anyway, I expected some kind of thriller one way or another.
No thriller here! But a light, sort of romantic read.
A bit too many hook ups per page count, felt like I was reading diaries of hormonal 16yo teenage boy :))
But I like Savannah. She is good natured and strong. She is cute and funny.
Three stars well deserved.

Lie to Me has one of the most beautiful covers I've seen and it's what initially caught my attention. And even though I haven't read any books by Natasha Preston before I didn't read the synopsis before starting the book.

So I went completely blind. I was very excited for this book because it looked so good, but unfortunately it disappointed me. I couldn't see the connection between the characters and that made it hard for me to relate to them. I think it's because the story was a but rushed, everything happened really fast. And maybe that was because the author was eager to put her story and ideas to paper, but it didn't come off as natural.

The dialogues between the main characters felt very forced, specially in the beginning. Later on I was more used to it, but the romance was very insta-love for me. So it was hard to see any real connections. And after all the suspense around the heroine (Savannah)'s past and the reason to why she ended up where and how she did, I was expecting it to be something much more surprising.

It felt very anticlimatic and towards the end there was just so much drama. Too much, actually. It was a bit over the top. That added to the super fast pace things happened, the rushed scenes, the insta-love and the forced dialogues and scenes, was overkill for me.

I didn't really feel any connection to the characters, Savannah was too dramatic for my tastes and Kent, the hero, sounded too forced. I liked Heidi and Judy, they were the ones that came off as the most real characters.

This story has a lot of potential, but, for me, it needed some more work to it. It wasn't as bad as some of the books I've read and I enjoyed it - to some extent - so I'm giving it a 3 stars rating (the "I liked it" rating). It has (a lot of) room for improvement though.

Summery

Savanna can't stand Kent. It doesn't help that she works for his sister, Heidi. It also doesn't help that he is drop-dead gorgeous. He is a player, never seeing a woman for more than one night. On top of that, he is irritating, believing in his own self-importance.

Savanna ran to the city to escape her family and her past. She doesn't have social media. She is very private. She doesn't open up. She doesn't trust.

Kent's last relationship ended badly. He no longer dates. Just sex. He barely trusts women and doesn't trust Savanna. What is she hiding, and can she be trusted in his sisters business?

My Thoughts

Characters seem very one dimetional. Alot of sexual tension banter on both sides. Both have past and find it hard to trust but obviously want each other. No real depth to them. The fact that our two MCs were able to just "clear the air" and move on so easy shows how little plot building to their "relationship" actually happens. They have zero growth. Nothing real other than physical attraction.

The "love arc" was too fast. Within a week of spending just the bare amount of time together, they went from irritating each other to wanting a relationship and being "in love." They had no real growth as people. Just fell into sexting, love, and sex in the course of a week. Nothing is talked through, and nothing is resolved. Just forget their feelings and form a relationship so they can jump each other.

The spice 🌶 is ehhh. There's nothing to really talk about. It's definitely not a fade to black but not much beyond that. Alot of dirty talk but no real care in how it is written. Just constant "let's get naked" with a lot of swearing and sweating without the substance. Potatoes without the meat.

The plot was a letdown. Obviously, she ran from home and disconnected from her family. Something happened with an ex that made her severe ties with everyone. My main reason for reading on was to find out what the big secret was. In my opinion, it wasn't bad enough for all the drama around it. Yes, it was bad and horrible, and her parents handled it wrong, but not to the point of cutting off EVERYONE she used to know. The actions her ex , Simon, took were laughable and felt highly unplausible.

Kent's reaction to his exs actions were over the top. When it actually came out, what she had done to him, I scoffed. Him becoming highly obsessed with no lying was natural but not to the level he takes it. Everything with him is sex or nothing. The past relationship ended when he was 19. He's 25 now. Grow up. The whole book, he felt like an overgrown child with no self-control. I kept having to remind myself that he was an adult and not 16 from the way he behaved.

This was my least favorite book by Natasha Preston. I never conceived not fully enjoying one of her literary works. Hopefully, it was a one-off.

Having read Silence by the author which I really enjoyed, I was very much looking forward to reading another of the authors books.

I have to admit I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this book. Well not hate as that's a bit of a strong word but some parts sadly I definitely didn't enjoy as much as others.

To start with, I really liked Savannah's character. She's had a bad experience in her past which is gradually revealed throughout the story to the reader. I liked how she's quite a strong character and just trying to get on with her life. I also loved Kent's family. Not only does Savannah feel very welcome, so did I. They are a very warm and giving family and I enjoyed reading the parts of the story where they were involved in it.

Kent, I just couldn't take to. Now we all like a brooding male lead but for me he was far to arrogant. His constant mention of the word 'babe' for Savannah even when he hasn't known her long really grated on me. Even by the end where I was certain he would have won me round by then, I still didn't feel it where his character was concerned.

I would say that the authors books certainly are more for young adults. It is a romance story but what I wasn't expecting was the amount of sex in it. I'm in no way a prude and really feel my age after reading this one but I just found all the sex talk and scenes cringe worthy. Don't get me wrong as I've read and enjoyed all of the Fifty Shades of Grey books but the sex in this book did nothing for me.

Overall Lie To Me was a good read. The actual story line itself was good and intrigued me enough to keep turning the ages. I did find it quite emotional in parts and there's definitely a lot going for it. Sadly I didn't love this book as much as the other book I have read by the author but having really enjoyed that one, I would certainly read more by her.

This story grabbed me from the very beginning. I must admit that I am a sucker for a good love/hate romance. Savannah & Kent have both been burned from a past relationship. Kent chooses to deal with his ex's betrayal by sleeping around & not becoming attached. Savannah with her own devil of an ex, prefers to be single, keep to herself, staying inside her apartment whenever possible. She left home three years ago at the age of 19, leaving only a note with no possible way for her family or the ex to find her.
Heidi, a fashion designer & Savannah's boss (but also Kent's sister) has been supportive of her friend & employee, fully aware that Savannah has been quiet & secretive about her past but respects her need for privacy. The designer studio, where the two are the only workers is where Kent & Savannah finally meet. Sometimes people just click, whether it is as friends or lovers, personalities are drawn together & an undeniable bond begins to form. This is Kent & Heidi. They are attracted to each other but also have conflicts & get annoyed with the other. This part of the story is fun but I love it when they finally claim their attraction & are brave enough to voice these feelings.
If you have ever pictured a perfect family, Kent & Heidi's is it. With wonderful & welcoming parents & another sister, no one could ask for more. I loved their part in this book.
I did have one issue though. No one reveals all their secrets or dreams on the first date, or even the third but when you're with someone for a few months & are discussing your future together, it's time to spill. Savannah did not do this, even though the villains in her story were her ex & her family. She should have mustered up the courage to tell Kent everything. This part irked me but overall I really enjoyed this one.

Okay. After a week and a half of trying to read this I'm going to DNF at 57% because the reason the heroine left her family and past behind has been revealed and it's pretty lame for how much the author hyped it up.
Also, what happened to her or was done to her does not explain why she cut all ties with her parents. It's fucken stupid.

Heroine is dumb and overly dramatic.

I love a book where the 2 main characters don’t like each other at the start! Seeing relationships change and morph into so much more is always one of my favourite things to read, so I was straight into this book, eating up every word. I really liked that it was Kent who was very open and honest about his feelings, while Savannah was more closed off and guarded, as it’s usually the other way around!

As with all books, nothing stays happy for long and admittedly, Kent pissed me off for a while. I understand, I do, but still, what an arse. And then that twist... whaaaat?? I have to admit, I was not expecting that!

I loved the ending, and I really hope we see more from their future in other books.

I really enjoyed Lie to Me. It was wonderfully humorous and the hero's family were just to die for. They welcomed the heroine with open arms, particularly the mum who clearly loves and mothers just about everyone she meets:

'“Kent!” Mum shouts, running from the kitchen into the large, open hallway. She runs at me and wraps me in a death hug. “Jesus, woman, I saw you only a few days ago.” Pulling back, she slaps my arm. “Less of the woman, and days feel like months when it’s your children.” She turns from me and addresses Savannah, “Darling, I’m so glad you could make it.”'

The nan was hilarious:

'“Don’t be difficult, Nan.” Her mouth lifts at the side. “I’m as easy as they come. Your granddad loves that about me.”'

'“Nan, will you act normal?” Kent growls. He looks at me. “We think she’s a bit senile.” “The only good thing about getting old is being able to speak your mind with no repercussion. I’m not senile.” I kind of love her. “I can’t wait until I’m older,” I say. Wow, Kent’s nan is so much cooler than me. I know I have a life and actually leave my flat now, but I’m nowhere near saying the things she does in public.'

It was great to read a contemporary romance 1) which was set outside of the US and 2) where the characters didn't take themselves too seriously.*

'I’m not letting her go, not ever. Well, I might let her get up in the morning because she has work. But metaphorically, she’s never going anywhere.'

'I’m still staring at Savannah, and Dad is going to rip me apart for that one later, but I can’t bring myself to care. She takes agonisingly slow steps toward me. I stand up, but my mind is empty. “Hi,” she whispers. “Hi. You look …” Words. I need a word! “Yeah …” Giggling, she drops her eyes. When she looks back up, her bottom lip is between her teeth, and her grey eyes are stormy and filled with desire. “Well, thank you. You look yeah, too.”'

'“Don’t worry about it. I grew up with two sisters.” My spine instantly straightens. “Meaning?” “Dramatic,” he grunts. Cheeky bastard. “My gender has nothing to do with it! I’ll tell you what; lay your arm on the floor, I’ll stamp on it, and we’ll see if it fucking hurts.”' I love this girl. Also, this is pretty much exactly what I want to do to men who suggest I might be on my period if I stand up to them...

'"I'm hungover. There will be no sunshine today... (anyway) you're hardly full of sunshine either." "I am a fucking delight," he replies.'

'"You’re hot when you’re angry, Savannah.” Actually, she’s hot all the time. It’s just, right now, she’s the whole package.“You always use bullshit like that to deflect from someone calling you out?”'

'“You’ll have to excuse my son. We raised all of them the same, but I must have forgotten that I dropped him,” Judy says, making me laugh... “Well, that was a conversation killer,” she mutters. “Sorry, but I don’t really know how to handle compliments.” “You could say, Gosh, Kent, that really turns me on when you tell me I’m stunning. Take me now. That would be an appropriate reaction.” “Your mum really did drop you, didn’t she?”'

And so on and so forth.

I do have a few little gripes though. Must there always be a ? Moving in together would be ample commitment. Maybe not for all readers, but I have no patience for people who think after like two months together is romantic. Why is it not obvious that and yet both hero and heroine let him into their homes. Also, I hate stories where the conflict is caused by characters' failure to communicate. Ok, I've had a fair bit of therapy so maybe I'm better able to be open about things than I might otherwise have been, but still: is it really so hard to just go "Something happened; it hurt and I'm not ready to talk about it."?

*With the exception of the hero telling us he's 'hung like an elephant'. 1) That's what they all say. 2) That sounds less ooh and more oww than he realises.

I have a great many of favorite tropes within the romance genre that I cannot help by gush over. For me, one of the favorites is that hate to love trope. I like the tension, the banter, the romancing tidbits between, the drama and overall connections within the characters circles. Something however that I find when authors attempt this trope is it can either flow perfectly, or it can tragically be choppy for a better lack of a term. There needs to be a balance, the hatred build needs to be established with a decent blend going from that tension to more romantic. So did Lie To Me live up to my standards? Yes and no...

Firstly, I really enjoyed the momentum of the characters at the beginning. Savannah starts off as this shy, closed off woman who is very hesitant yet curious. She has a confidence in her - rather flirtatious when provoked, one that shines most when she is around Kent, probably because she doesn't sit idly by when he wants to be all 'puff puff alpha roar' man meat toolbag. Not saying she doesn't have her moments of shyness still, but she seems more herself the more she is in the company of Kent.

Kent on the other drive is that toolbag presence and I loved it. He was fun, self-absorbed, confident, and drop dead sexy. He really pushes this attitude between himself, Savannah as well as the rest of the supporting cast. All around fun character - probably my more favorite.

Obviously I loved their characters, I cannot say how much I enjoyed their personalities, the chemistry between them was set up smashingly. As soon as I first read their interactions I could feel it. The hatred seeped off the pages, their stubborn attitudes really made me gush at it. Both are hilarious, witty, entertaining between their banter. The insults literally roll off the tongues during the dialogue - the sexual tension was damn good. This is however where my opinion gets a wee-bit iffy. If I am being honest I had hoped for a little more sexual tension building. It literally started off so fucking hot, that it hit a climatic moment then boom they were a romantic couple.

Just once I wanted a hate fuck. Damnit... Why didn't Savannah just go to the bathroom with Kent - JUST ONCE I TELL YOU. I just had hoped for more. With such a great build to their tension, it was like one moment they hated each other than the next they were in a romantic entanglement. But, even though this did occur, their chemistry never faulted. Everything from their sweet moments to the sex was perfection. They had this entertaining verbal foreplay that really aided on their connection, they were a fun couple overall.

Though the chemistry itself was believable, and delicious to aid my pervy mind, it was also the drama that left me a little less than questionable thoughts. I liked the outcome, but there was a point when the break up drama was a little over the top, I didn't understand why and what was entirely going on. I think it could have been an argument, or some disagreement on some level, but the reaction of the characters just left me conflicted on the basis of the characters morals. Again though, even as things wound down, I still loved the overall outcome when things settled, I think I just personally envisioned something different to have gotten to the swoon worthy ending.

Bottom line - I loved it. I definitely found some things I disliked, but in all honesty it did not take away from what I loved about Lie To Me. The writing style was great, the characters flowed well with the plot and the characters themselves were absolutely stunning. I cannot wait to add more of Natasha Preston to my TBR - I definitely recommend giving this a shot, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

2ish...maybe 2.5 stars

So I decided to read this book because technically it has my favorite MC combination: a broody, jerk hero & a lonely yet tough-as-nails heroine. And every once in a while I'm in the market for some good ole fashioned New Adult angst. [I also paid for this one which by principal I can't DNF unless it's an absolute nope.]

The execution just didn't work for me. I'm very aware of the sliding scale of NA angst/dramatics/OTT-ness. When it's good it's good and when it's not, it makes for quite a few eye-rolls and frustration. For me this fell into the latter category.

What I'll just say is that each person carries a skeleton in their closet or major grudge. Kent doesn't date because he got screwed in an epic fashion by his ex and he will not tolerate liars. Savannah left her family three years after a series of [tragically] unfortunate events and has not had contact since.

So, Kent comes clean around the 50% mark and naturally Savannah doesn't give full disclosure until everything gets exposed against her will at around 80%. Everything leading up to and after is riddled with mistrust, miscommunication, and things that would never be a problem if they just talked shiz out. They're still young (H is 25 and h is 22) and they're not emotionally mature. AND you get hit was some unexpected drama on top of that towards the end that seemed a little forced.

Again, it had all the makings to be a solid read for me but the execution of the plot/storytelling was not my cup of tea.

P.S. I do really like this cover, though.

This book was so hard for me to read. First, they start off hating each other with absolutely no back story behind it. Like seething level of hate just being in the same room. Then out of nowhere they are madly in love and dating? And somehow even though she broke up with an ex THREE years ago, Kent somehow decides because she didn’t tell him every detail she was lying? I don’t even know if I could recommend this one. I get that fiction is made up, but we need to find a way to do it well. I usually love Natasha Preston but this one just didn’t hit the mark for me at all.

3 stars.

I very much enjoyed the first 2/3rds of the book and read it all in no time whatsoever. The plot grips you to the point where you’re turning pages at a really fast pace. It’s like you just need to find out whether Kent and Savannah end up together or not, and what the next day is going to bring into their relationship. But then as the book was getting to an end, it took me longer to even convince myself to read it as the plot got a bit boring... The whole story about Savannah’s parents and sister suddenly visiting and the whole Simon story felt very rushed. I found myself reading pages over and over as it felt like the author tried to cram in the most information possible in the least amount of pages..? I’ll be honest, as much as I loved the first 2/3rds of the book and could read it for hours at a time, I really did not enjoy the last few chapters and found some of the things to be too far fetched... I also found some tiny inconsistencies in some chapters, like one second Savannah turns up in a dress and the next Kent is taking her jeans off..? Overall, the book is a nice light and quick read, but the ending could use a bit more work. Do read it if you have nothing else to do or just want a quick YA read.

I really wanted to read this book only because of its beautiful cover, but that's the only good thing about it.
The hero is an epic asshole and the heroine gave me whiplash, first she appears strong then climsy and shy. Only read chapter one and I know I'm not gonna like this.

I could not with this book. It was slow. Boring. Repetitive. Predictable. Kent saying she lied was bs. The Book just didn't flow good.

Oh my stars. This is the first book I have read by Natasha Preston and I couldn’t put it down. My heart. The pain that both Savannah and Kent endured to get to where they are is heartbreaking and shattering. They start out as enemies as the banter between these two is witty and sharp tongued at times, but they both break each other’s walls down and let each other in. While Kent is up front with his past, Savannah is still too raw to let go of hers. Their passion for each other is off the charts and when they finally get together, it was like stars!
What broke me in this story is how hard it was for Savannah to open up. I could only imagine the pain she was going through. While she didn’t outright lie to Kent, she held her cards close and those secrets nearly destroyed them. There were so many moments of OMG as things came to head. And the twists! Oh wow were they ever epic! I honestly needed more!
Overall, this is one utterly brilliant read that will be a part of my top reads this year. The witty banter these two have, the sass Savannah gives Kent and their passion, made for one amazing story that you will not want to put down. I highly recommend this story in a heartbeat!

When I was first approached about reviewing this book, I can admit I totally agreed because of the cover. I mean, look at it. It's simply gorgeous. Then when I read the synopsis, I knew I just had to read this book. And sadly, this book was a little bit of a disappointment for me.

The story follows alongside Savannah and Kent. Savannah has run away from him and has made a good life for herself. Though she doesn't see her family anymore, she's happy and finally feels free. But her bosses brother, Kent, always seems to get under her skin with his doughebag ways.

"How can I go from disliking him one second to wanting to be under or on top of him the next? One look from him is all it took to get my pulse racing."

He's never been kind to her and she's getting tired of the way he treats her. Kent despises lies and he can't stand Savannah. He thinks she has no personality and is just in general a boring person. That all changes when an accident happens and he's the only one there for her.

These two start to develop an amazing friendship and it begins to heat up with just a single touch. For me, there were just a couple things that I didn't like, and something that bothered me but I can't quite put my finger on. I felt like the story was a little rushed in some places but overall the story was good. By no means was this a bad story, if you enjoy new adult reads, I definitely recommend others read this one for yourself, to gather their own opinions.

Yet another fabby bread by Natasha Preston!
Who likes liars? Certainly not main character in this story Kent,,, its the one thing in a person that he really cant abide by.
Hes been lied to in the past and he now doesnt let anyone close.
Savannah is running from her past.. she keeps to herself and doesnt let anyone know what she's gone through.
These charcters together are fab! The banter they have while denying their feelings is so funny!!!
And as always Natasha manages to throw in a huge unexpected twist when you dont expect it!

I was really looking forward to reading this book, the cover is really beautiful that’s what interested me into this story.

Savannah hasn’t had much of good time the last few yrs, lost lonely and trying to make a new life for herself. But with a past lurking around how long will her new life stay in her control.

Kent, after having his own heartbreak he’s a one night kind of guy, but his head gets turned by his sisters new employee.

But someone’s past is about to come very much into the future & who will be the one left standing alone?

This is a quick read and the story line was easy enough to follow, I didn’t feel the emotional click from the characters so it was hard to connect with them.

It really loved this book. Love story + awesome characters + fighting their affection= my cup of tea :)

However, there were a couple of minor things that annoyed me. Like how many times the characters would think and say "I've not" or a variation which sound slightly odd, and the fact that each character said it that way and it wasn't just the main girl irked me slightly.
Also some parts of the beginning felt a bit weird and his reaction to her 'lie'. I mean was it really a lie? Felt a bit dramatic when I felt the 'lie' was a bit weak.
Ending also felt a a bit rushed, but even though it's a bit cliche it's a great read.

Kent is insufferable! His girlfriend breaks his heart when he’s 19 and he never mentally matures past that. The audacity of this man’s hypocrisy to throw temper tantrums over someone he “loves” that is “lying to him” (not telling him about her past because it fucked her up) and then to later be like “wow I can’t believe people treat you badly because of what happened to you” ????? Hard pass.

Contemporary romance

This is my second book by this author and I loved it. There was a bit or mystery, romance, and drama. I stayed up late to finish it because I couldn't put it down.
