You want more

You know there's a better way to live your life.

You have hopes and dreams.

You want out of the box -- the financial squeeze -- living by other people's rules.

The best way to achieve your goal hasn't been clear.

Now there's a way.

5 Day Weekend(R)

- More than inspiration--It's a plan.

It shows you how to build multiple streams of passive, independent income.

- More than a concept--It's real world.

People's stories and cases give examples and guidance.

- More than money--It's purpose.

It opens up your world to more and better choices. You can leave your 8 to 5 job behind and achieve your grandest goals.

Is it time for you to get unstuck?

Are you ready to move forward to a lifestyle rich with freedom and purpose?

5 Day Weekend(R) is your doorway.

The strategy is to build multiple streams of income that don't require you to work 8 to 5 in a company where you have little control of your time and compensation.

The core money parts -- Keep More Money, Make More Money, and Grow More Money -- focus on ways to tighten your finances, increase your income, and develop passive investment strategies. The goal is to build regular, independent cash flow until they match your standard of living. Then you're no longer captive. Your independent income is enough to sustain you -- to free you.

The Personal Freedom chapters are Purpose, Choice, Productivity, Simplicity, Adventure, Peace, and Generosity -- ways to live your life to the fullest. In Power UP! you Strengthen Your Mindset, Build Your Inner Circle, Fortify Your Habits, and Amplify Your Energy -- tools to support and realize your new goals. In Push the Boundaries, Nik Halik shares his remarkable journey and challenges you to achieve your own 5 Day Weekend(R). New York Times bestselling author, Garrett B. Gunderson, offers his savvy financial expertise.

This book just was talking to HIGH income earners, trying to sell WHOLE life insurance as a 'liquid' loan option and then real estate. This was very off-putting. Don't recommend.

Nik Halik and Garrett Gunderson’s 5 Day Weekend is the latest new book to attempt to liberate workers from the tedium of working ’40 hours and week for 40 years’ — a mentality that used to be touted as the only way to a successful retirement. Their focus is on creating true financial independence, but the hook of adding two extra days to your weekend is pretty tempting, too!

Oddly similar — but without the humor and cheekiness — of Tim Ferriss’ 4 Hour Work Week, 5 Day Weekend is written from a highbrow point of view, which may be harder for some to understand. It takes a look at personal finances on a micro level, outlines specific ways to create multiple streams of income, stresses ways to reduce or eliminate debt (including the smartest ways to pay off loans), and focuses on investing… perhaps a bit too heavily on investment properties for every reader.

The conventional work and retirement mindset is not only outdated, but also unfulfilling. Security in the old-fashioned sense no longer exists, and it may be tough for some to push through their boundaries on that, so this book takes a good look at some new ways to earn and enjoy wealth, both now and in the future.

A lot in the book just makes sense, but if you need to know there are others out there who share a smarter work/smarter wealth attitude — or if you just want a preliminary roadmap for how you can generate this mentality for yourself — 5 Day Weekend is a good book to get you started.

A quick read but honestly ... not that much more than a rehash of existing and more focused books like the 4hr workweek, rich dad / poor dad etc.. It's somewhat useful to be reminded of things to focus on but feels quite derivative.

Some good information, but enormously US-centric, and 10% of Feelgood guff as padding at the end.

This 320 page book is more like a course in life management than any we have seen.

If you take Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover, stir in a little of Norman Vincent Peale’s Power of Positive Thinking, add a pinch of The Autobiography of Ben Franklin, and then top it with The Millionaire Next Door, you have the recipe for 5 Day Weekend.

5 Day Weekend: Freedom to Make Your Life and Work Rich with Purpose by Nik Halik and Garrett B. Gunderson takes your typical book on money management and stands it on its ear.

In these pages one will find tons of ideas about how to make more money through active methods so that one can then make more money passively. This is one of those books you wish you had read when you were younger.

Nik Halik has an engaging writing style that makes the book very readable and enjoyable and, if you aren’t careful, you just might learn something. We give it all five stars.

You may be thinking that 5 Day Weekend is just another book on finance; you would be wrong. Instead, it is about living the life you want to lead. Readers learn about goal setting, planning, budgeting, and more.

If you read one philosophy on FIRE (financial independence, retire early), you've read them all, right? Not so. This one feels different. I've picked over the ideas of FIRE here and there but never really thought hard on it. This one created a shift in perspective for me; it made me feel capable of doing it. Though there is a section at the end that reminds me of motivational business works like Napoleon Hill's, I think that motivation is not confined to those chapters; it's woven throughout, and that makes a difference.
For those interested in financial and business success, read this book. It will help light your FIRE.

At first I thought this was just another rah rah entrepreneur book about how cool it is to be rich and how you can do it too. But the last section brought it all home with a great perspective on what it’s all for and avoiding being a slave to stuff, your work or other peoples’ opinions. Most other books like this just stop at the material motivation, so I found this refreshing and inspiring in the end. Advice on investing in seasons was good too. An easy read for anyone getting started with a new entrepreneurial perspective on life or as a refresher / motivation booster.

I wanted to learn about making more money and working less, and this book was recommended to me.

The first half-ish was super informative and easily digestible for the average reader. After that, it gets a LOT more dense, with tons of information and vocabulary that most of us probably won't understand.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing. They flat out say in the book that they're trying to open your mind and get you thinking outside the box. This book is just a starting point.

So, don't get too overwhelmed by those details. It's a good read with interesting ideas and viewpoints.

Pleasantly Surprised!

Surprisingly very good, particularly the beginning portions that focused on specific strategies.

A lot of similar books are very vague, don’t give you exact numbers to work with, and don’t offer direct advice, this one does.

I really thought this book made sense, I was impressed with the content despite the infomercial-y title, and have already recommended it to a lot of friends!

This book is so important for everyone to read. Building passive income, changing your life by removing draining and toxic habits and replacing them with meaningful purposeful actions. I recommend this book to everyone and I will have to continuously read this book to be reminded and take advantage of all the wealth of knowledge. This is not a book you just read and forget about. There are online worksheets and actions that need to be taken that can only be done by you.

I loved it personally. It was an easy read. It covered a good amount of topics. Didn't really go into depth/details but enough to get the point. More research would be required after this book, to be able to execute on the topics brought up. Learnt quite a bit as I reflect on the book. I would recommend. Highly, recommend. It is a good starting ground.

First Section of the book must read for all

And worth the cost of the book, many, many times over. I have set-up the debt matrix and it's a plan that really works. What he teaches on life insurance is Gold! Features a lot of "live the life of your dreams" motivation and quotes also. Definitely a good read.

Quite a different way of looking at the world, certainly interesting to read. Some parts feel a bit cliche or impossible in the current climate (just buy the property at 15% under market value, easy!), but overall Nik doesn't come across as just wanting to make as much money as possible. The concept of investing for cash flow was new to me and is a valuable insight to gain.

There are a lot of great techniques and strategies in this fantastic book and I really valued the chapters on motivation and mindset. I would be very grateful if an Australian version of this book was printed as some parts or chapters are only applicable to American readers.

Sum

This book, in my opinion, represents the sum of many motivational books out there, coupled with some practical wisdom on how to get there.

Clearly, each person will have to choose their own path. Just pick a path!

Mixed feelings about this book. There are some interesting bits, and I probably should go back to review them. However I question some of the math and the hype; the book prefers inspiration to pragmatism. But still a reasonably quick and easy read.

Nik Halik did great job diversifying and explaining methods of escaping the narrowed focus mindset that is hammered down by institution which play a vital role in persons upbringing.

Some good concepts but a bit contrived. Some strategies seem easier said than done. Also, Bitcoin investing is super high risk and not something I would recommend for many people.
