A century has passed since the flood of judgment engulfed mankind. The descendants of Noah live in harmony, unified beneath their tower. One God. One people.
Then a man is killed.
Naomi's grandson is accused of murder and will be stoned unless she can prove his innocence. A tower of lies conceals the truth. It must be allowed to crumble, exposing long hidden secrets.
This book was difficult to put down. It's about a hundred years after the flood and people are gradually falling away from God. Finally God had enough of their rebellion and destroyed the Tower that Nimrod built. He also scattered the people by mixing up their languages.
This book kept me reading. I didn't want to stop, even though I had work to do. Once again Neal did a wonderful job of writing amazing characters and a gripping story.
This didn't center around a romance, which was a nice change of pace. There was talk of murder, blood, and injuries.
I loved how God's redemption and grace was the strongest theme in the book.
Very good. I really enjoyed it! Unlike most other fiction books, this one, along with the others in the series, shows us a lot about our sin nature, as well as how Holy and righteous God is. The author does a good job of showing us about marriage too. It's also a great story to enjoy!
Finished this just now and want to write a review immediately. This is the 2nd of 3 in a series. Author Neal is now my favorite Christian author of Biblical Historical Fiction. I was very pleased with the 1st and have just finished and am even more pleased with this 2nd book in the trilogy. I will start the 3rd tonight. "Bones of Rebellion" seamlessly picks up the story after the 1st novel. The characters are vivid, pacing is fast, the plot is intense and well-knit, the Biblical set is well-painted, and I had an intense desire to get back into the book during my breaks. I literally love her characters, and was brought to tears with her satisfying ending (don't misjudge me, I'm a Marine veteran ;-)
I love this author!! This book showed how secrets we keep can cause so many problems, but even worse, is pride. I love it was based on scripture and showed how Biblical principals can work in our lives, but if we choose not to pray or be obedient, the results will in the end cause so much pain and sorrow. Still god is loving and merciful! Such a great story, the characters were so well fleshed out. They was a mystery that tho finally solved, ended up showing the true character of many. I highly recommend this series and look forward to the next!!
I really liked this book. It shows what possibly could’ve happened where the Bible is silent. We all have questions wondering what happened, how did the people feel when their language was confused, why was the tower destroyed? I think the author did a great job explaining all of these and more. The book was a little lengthy in some areas and could use a little editing (some names spelled wrong in key places, quotation marks things like that), but overall I enjoyed this story quite a bit!
This is the second book in the 'Noah' series, the story of Ham and his generations. Ms. Neal writes a interesting story and sent be back to the story in Genesis for a rereading of the bible account.
