The book has a brilliant introduction by Peter Galassi. Nicholas Nixon's favorite camera is view camera 8X10. The photographs in the collection show how photographs of ordinary people can sometimes address the deepest of human values. Three series of photographs stand out- His early works of pictures of Boston's cityscapes, his annual portrait series of his wife and her three sisters which he started in 1975 and his pictures of AIDs patients which he started in 1987. Useful reference book to understand how to appreciate a photograph!
