Work and play don't mix. End of story. Unless your new employee happens to be the most alluring surprise you've come across in years...

One look at those delicious curves and I'm drawn.
No amount of self-control can tame that hard on!
And then I realize she's running away from her past,
Hiding something,
Maybe running away from her own self.
Could that be the reason she is working under a fake name in my organization?
Or is she a competitor spying on me?

But my heart melts when she plays with my son,
She couldn't be that dangerous, right?
I mean, she gets along so well with little Dom.
I decide to play the game,
And play it well.
I know what to do when her ex comes unannounced.

With that baby growing inside her, I'll make it more than just an office fling!

This is a standalone, 80k words romance with lots of steam and a very satisfying HEA. Bonus content included.

Looking for an easy read with a bit of suspense? McKenna is working under an alias as a cleaner for an office building and does a fantastic job. One night while cleaning she meets Rafael the CEO and his ex-wife in the offices. Hiding under the tables is their son Dominic. McKenna does what she thinks is best and starts chatting away to Dom and from that moment on, you can see that she's bonded straight away with Dom. Raf decides to do some research on his new employee and discovers she has used a fake name. Is she a spy or hiding from someone? During the book, we read as McKenna and Raf become quite close, and the reason behind McKenna's fake name comes to light. Even though I did like this story, I found that it was the bond and chemistry between McKenna and Dom that stole the show and made the book rather than her romance with Raf. Office Fling is one of those HEA stories where you know what you are in for and don't need to think when reading.

A complex emotional read about two wounded people. An engaging story, that is well written and well developed. The chemistry between McKenna and Raphael is very steamy. I loved the connection between McKenna and Raphael's son, Dominic. A enjoyable read. I'm posting a completely honest, voluntary review after reading this book.

Oh my!  What a hot book this was!  Man this story was burning up the pages with the heat from these two main characters.

In this book Rafeal is a single dad CEO.  He struggles with his ex-wife, who uses their son as a paycheck.  It breaks his heart how cold she is towards their son Dominic.  But hey what can he do but put his best foot forward.  He is very leery and does not trust easily.  His dating life is non existent because he can't seem to find someone he can trust to love him for him and not his money.

One night working late he sees a fiery red-head dancing and  cleaning the floor of his building.  He is so mesmerized by her that he inquires HR to find out who she is.  When he finds out that she is using a fake name, he thinks the worst.  A spy to steal secrets....

Mckenna is a woman on the run from an abusive man.  Working under a fake name three states away from her home, trying to start a fresh new life without fear.  All that comes to a halt when her boss calls her in for a meeting.  The meeting is not what she thought and when her boss confronts her about her fake name she is stumped and frightened.  How did he find out?  With fight or flight in mind Mckenna must decide which is in her best interest.

This story was sweet.  I love a good single dad story.  This one was no exception.  Dominic is super smart and the sweetest little kid ever.  His father is not only strong and protective, he is one hot sexy as hell alpha male.  He sure can burn up those sheets.  oh la la!  Mckenna is shy and sweet but has a small confidence issue.  She really pulls out of her shell as the story progresses.

This story has is all.  Abuse, Fear, Strength and Love.  An emotional book that is sure to bring a tear to your eyes as well as bring you to your knees.  The book was steady paced and the story was not rushed at all.  It is also hot and steamy, there is no shortage of sex in this book.  No siree!  Another 5 star read from Amy Brent.  Bravo!  Bravo!

Office Fling
While working late one night Raphael is mesmerized when he sees a janitor, a stunning one at that, dancing and cleaning on the floor of the building where he is CEO. He contacts HR as he needs to know who she is but is shocked that she's working under a false name. Is she a spy from his competitors?
McKenna has found work again, working under a false name to protect her from her abusive ex boyfriend, who keeps finding her. When she's called into a meeting with her boss things change, they've found out. Will she tell the truth or run again?
Dominic, Raphael's son is just such a cutie also very grown up. He always been shy around new people but when he meets McKenna he chats away even laughing. He asks his dad if she can go to dinner with them and as they say the rest is history!
My heart broke in a good way with the emotional ending.

Sweet Love Story, Distracted by Editing

This is a sweet love story between Rafael, the CEO and McKenna, who is on the run from her ex and is working as part of the cleaning crew at Rafael’s office. He is mesmerized by her sweet nature and her curves as she dances her way through cleaning floors all the way to his heart. She makes an impression on his son, Dom, too and it is there relationship that convinces Rafael that McKenna needs to be part of their lives. When her ex finds her again and attempts to attack her, Rafael surprises her at her apartment and saves her from harm. Later she has a surprise for him as well. I would have given the story a 4.5 but the editing brought my rating down to a 3. As the book came to an end, the errors increased and I had to reread many sentences to get the true intention of the author!

Intruiging Story Summary

By the time that I had read a few chapters - I couldn’t cope with any more!

Urgent editing needed....

The book has so many mistakes, the editor really didn’t do a very good job at all - the spellings are right so a spell checker wouldn’t have picked it up but there are so many wrong words - like too instead of two, or, conscious instead of conscience. I am only a couple of chapters in & I now find it so annoying that I am not reading anymore which is a shame as the story summary sounds really great. I am surprised that if this was the copy the ARC’s read that they didn’t pick this up. Sorry to write this but felt it was the only right thing to do.

This was an interesting read about finding the one you were meant to be with. McKenna is trying to start over and has a great job, but when the sexy CEO Rafael sees her, he can’t stop thinking about her. Both can’t fight the chemistry they have and want something more but when McKenna’s past comes back, will that be the end of their relationship. Rafael is so sweet and a loving father that he will melt your heart. Great story with enjoyable characters that had me reading in one sitting.

I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

The old saying "Never judge a book by it's cover" right?!?! Well Raphael is about to learn this very important lesson. Yes, he has built his company, yes he has an ex-wife that has made him more judgmental than before and now he questions everything. That all would be understandable. No, you see Raphael is about to learn that he has a heart and that fate has cards she ain't showing yet!

Running this far, to opposite ends of the world....McKenna has done it. Escape didn't come easy and fate is about to deal her some more cards that are very difficult to handle. What she wasn't planning on is the very person who started with questioning her, making her worry about things is the very one she will be fighting together with.

A fake name. How can that be that his company would hire someone, a cleaning person on the night shift, without a better background check and security? Raphael is not about to accept this. A meeting is called, he is harsh and a bit rude, and dismissive. He has no clue. McKenna doesn't really fight back at all, she knows what is coming. She knows because as many times as she starts over, she is faced with a worse demon in her life, and the cycle begins all over. One she has gone home, Raphael does some research. He is slapped in the face with the reality of why McKenna did what she had....and he feels horrible. He has to make this right. Another meeting is called, but this time instead of the bomb going off as McKenna thinks it will, something else happens.

It starts with Raphael apologizing and beginning to tell her that her job is safe, and she will be secure. This meeting, however, is rudely interrupted by the lovely ex. The ex drops off Raphael's on, and there are questions, raised voices, shouting. In this never once does McKenna see him try to physically hurt the ex, even as mad/angry as he is. Something else stirs McKenna's heartstrings though. The little boy sits under the table. She decides to sit under the table with him. Awkward for all involved in many different ways. This is the start of a big time friendship though. As McKenna and Dom (the son) talk, there is laughter from a little one in the room. All arguing stops, there is dead silence around him, until Raphael looks and see who the sound came from. Raphael quickly tries to make right another situation as well as finish making up for the other. Fate is stepping in.

Dom asks McKenna to join him and his father for lunch....ok, more awkwardness. Things are kept light and talk is easy. McKenna doesn't know that Raphael has learned her secret. Work ensues, and one night Raphael stays. McKenna like to clean the upper floor....she dances when she cleans. Raphael has learned this, and he is there for the show. Both have been thinking about each other since the lunch, with no interactions since though. This night is about to change that. When she realizes he is there, the fire they ignite with one another is awesome. But reality hits McKenna and she darts off right after, no words, just leaves.

Twists begin. Her ex shows up just as an actual date between McKenna and Raphael start seeing each other. Rough handling happens, but Raphael is NOT going to allow this to happen....not with her, not again, not ever again. The altercation happens, and they leave. Raphael is sure he got his point across, and McKenna hoped too. Much MUCH more love happens between these two. Yummy and delicious. Feelings growing but not yet completely expressed. Then some ailment knocks McKenna out, and when it dawns on her what is happening she is reminded that she was on borrowed time from this ex of hers. He is here again. Just like before, Raphael happens to be there to save her again. Only this time will be the last. Raphael did get a very well deserved lesson in, but also was given a reminder of why he was in that battle to begin with. A test, a smile, a first step important question and more loving happens.

That test result, that answer to the first important question start their path together. They go to talk to Dom about this, the lovely ex causes some problems, but good old karma decides to help her sister fate out on that one. With the whole happily ever after beginning. The Epilogue of their story holds a few surprises too, ones that make the journey McKenna and Raphael had prior to them a distant memory, and it clearly paves their way into their awesome happily ever after.

McKenna O’Grady aka Max Grady
R. Barbos

REVIEW: This novel was a fun read. It takes place in a work environment (hence the title Office Fling). Mr. Barbos is the CEO and Max is the person in charge of cleaning the top floor of the building, on the night shift.

I love how they meet (or should I say what Max is doing when Mr. Barbos first notices her). Let’s just say curiosity and a strong attraction gets the best of Mr. Barbos and he has Max investigated to learn a bit more about her. What he learns does not make him happy. The information that he learns has him questioning everything about her. He has her called into his office the next day before his shift and starts in inquiry.

She has a choice to make, answer with the truth risking her safety or flee. After talking with Mr. Barbos, Max is told to wait twenty four hours for his decision as to whether she still has a job or not. During that twenty four hour period Mr. Barbos learns the rest of Max’s story and is called back into his office for another meeting face to face.

During that meeting, Mr. Barbos has a personal issue arise and she is there to assist, even without being asked. She bonds with Mr. Barbos’s son. From there the story gets good, it gets steamy. I love the relationship McKenna develops with Dominic aka Dom. He is the sweetest character.

This story ends with a HEA.

A Good Short Story Of Unexpected Love

McKenna is on the run from her obsessive and abusive ex and so she is using a fake name and trying to keep clear of him. She managed to get a good job cleaning.  But one night the CEO of the company, Rafael, sees her and is entranced by her beauty.  he's just been given his little son, Dom, and has had trouble with the boy's mother, his ex.  The next day at work Rafael tries to find out more about McKenna but what he does find out is that she is using a false name. Is she a corporate spy? To discover the truth he calls for her and she is worried that the CEO wants to see her.  When she gets there she explains about her abusive ex and Rafael is determined to protect her  as he feels so attracted to her. certainly the chemistry between them is scorching and to find out what happens you're going to have to get your own copy.  Will McKenna get on with his son? Will her crazy ex find her and take her back? Will Rafael and McKenna become a couple and find happiness? This is a short story and there are numerous bonus materials included. I do enjoy Amy Brent's stories but I don't think the beta readers or her editor really checked all the wording as there were quite a few 'mistakes' that did make it 'uncomfortable' to read at times, and so spoilt an otherwise interesting story which is a shame.

I received a reader's copy of this and voluntarily leave my honest review here.

Rafael is the CEO of the company and when he goes into work late one evening he sees a gorgeous woman dancing as she cleans the work space on the floor his office is. Intrigued he calls HR the next day to get information on her. However when it is found that her name is a fake one he begins to worry that she a spy for a competitor. McKenna is in hiding so she can't use her real name but she still managed to land a great job. Just waiting day by day to see if she has finally found a safe place has her always on edge. When she gets called into work early she is shocked when the CEO is the one she is meeting with and the surprises keep coming when he tells her that he knows she lied about her name. What Rafael didn't expect to find out is that McKenna is a victim of abuse and her ex is stalking her. Seeing how she is with his son kind of closes the deal with how he feels about her. Can Rafael keep McKenna safe?

This was a great story and is very well written. The chemistry between Rafael and McKenna is off the charts hot. This is a very entertaining story and will keep you turning the pages until you find yourself at the end and wanting more. This is a must read in my opinion and I would recommend this to any of my book friends.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy.

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. we meet McKenna, cleaner at a prestigious firm who is on the run from her crazy ex. going under a different name just to make ends meet. we meet Rapheal, CEO of the firm who has a 5 yr old son and a miserable lonely hungry ex wife. while working late one night he sees a gorgeous redhead cleaning the floor and dancing while doing it. he is intrigued by her and the next days goes to HR to find out who she is. red flags arise and Rap thinks she's here to steal his secrets. McKenna is called into work early and is bombarded by a very sexy man in a suit only to be brought to her knees when he says he knows she's lied. great now she will lose her job. Mac explains it is for protection. just great. rapheal digs a little deeper and now feels like a schmuck. when he apologizes to her his nasty ex drops off his son Dominic while Mac is in the room. words are exchanged and all he hears is his son laughing all bc of this woman. what is with McKenna that had him smitten with her and now his son cant stop talking about her. can Rapheal trust another woman? will McKenna ever feel safe again?

Office fling was written by two authors Amy Brent and Candy Gray. It started off really well and I thought I was in for a jolly good read........wrong..... not because the story line was bad, but the writing was so bad.... SO MANY mistakes. Normally I allow around 8 mistakes before I take notes, and on this occasion I counted over 30, mostly in the McKenna paragraphs. I think the authors must have written for a particular character each. And whoever wrote for McKenna needs to check her work before publishing. Even well known phrases were wrong..... sorry, but all these mistakes really took the enjoyment out of reading, although I did stick with it until the very end, hoping and praying it improved but sadly it didn't. Needless to say, I didn't read the bonus content, written by the same author(s).

Another point is that McKenna was a well padded built lady... then why oh why put a very slim woman on the cover? If the male character could fall in love with her, then why not advertise the fact by the cover.

By the way, I have NEVER given a 2*'s before... 4 & 5* are my norm, a couple of 3* but never lower until now. sorry folks.

3.5 sweet sexy office romance stars.

This one is an insta-love office romance read with a hint of forbidden and baby surprise.
A single dad CEO and a cleaner. She's running away from the past and he'll do anything to protect her. I like this one, it's like a modern Cinderella story for me.
It might a bit too slow for my taste and there's a bit inconsistency in the characters and it felt a bit rushed towards the end, but with all the drama and sweet little Dom (loveee the connection between Dom and McKenna, it's soooo sweet), I really enjoying it.

As for characters, I like Rafael and McKenna as a couple, love their chemistry and those fiery moments between them, even though I'm a bit confused with Rafael, something that bit bothering me, he's an alpha male but when it comes to his ex, he's turning to be a weak person, but I still like this couple though.

If you're looking for forbidden office romance read, I think you might like this one.

Falling for the CEO

Max just started her job as a janitor and enjoys her time cleaning the exec floor...she looks forward to dancing around as she polishes floors & dusts. Rafael is a single dad and CEO who doesn’t have much time for a life, plus his ex makes his life a living hell. When working late one night, Rafael witnesses the pretty janitor during her ‘routine’ and is intrigued. His investigation uncovers the fact that Max isn’t who she says she is and he calls her out. Turns out that Max is on the run from am abusive ex and Rafael’s search may have put her in danger. A chance encounter leads to Max bonding w Rafael’s 6yo son. Soon enough Max & Rafe become involved but will it last. Will Max’s ex find her & what will he do?
The premise of the book was good and the first 30% reeled you in. However, the book began to feel rushed and had lots of grammatical errors that became increasingly difficult to overlook. I finished the book and there was an HEA.

Raphael Barbos has a very good life: a successful business, wealth, and a wonderful little boy named Dominic. He has no time for, nor does he believe in romance—his conniving ex-wife cured him of that. Except for the continuing issues with his ex, he wants for nothing. And then late one night, he spies a red-headed goddess dancing her heart out with a mop.
McKenna O’Grady is trying to start over, be safe. Having fled, literally across the country, from her abusive ex-boyfriend, she’s changed her identity and just trying to get on with a new life. While she works as part of a custodial crew, she blows off stress with her earbuds on, the music pumping, and her mop for a partner. She dances like no one is watching—or so she thinks.
This was a great single dad romance that I didn’t want to put down! Raphael is a terrific alpha dad, his son is a terrific kid and McKenna is a beautiful, strong woman. I voluntarily reviewed this Advance Reader Copy.

I really enjoyed this book. It was emotional at times and full of passion. The chemistry between McKenna and Raphael was so hot and steamy. I must say I liked the fact that Raphael was not like some of the other men you read about that seem to be manwhores having a different woman each night. He is more guarded and doesn't trust as easily since his ex proved to be only concerned about the money and appears not to even care about their son Dominic. McKenna is a woman who is working under a different name at Raphael's work in order to hide from her abusive ex. She is trying to make a life for herself and she is afraid of her ex finding out where she is. This is a well written book full of emotion, suspense, a bit of mystery and two people who are able to help one another.I loved how protective Raphael was of McKena. The scenes with McKenna and Dom were so sweet. I loved the HEA!

I really enjoyed this book about love, family, learning to trust again, and obsession. Raphael, a billionaire CEO, suddenly has custody of his son Dom. At the same time, he finds a dancing midnight cleaner on his floor when working late one night. When he tries to find out more about her, he starts to unravel her secret. I like the way Raphael was such a good father, how precocious Dom was, and the way McKenna interacted with them. McKenna didn’t let her past interfere too much with the very careful Raphael. There was a bit of action in here, and lots of really good moments-in the restaurant & the epilogue were favourites.

A tense and touching story, Rafael and McKenna's romance isn't easy but it is highly rewarding. Both if them have scats from their pasts, and McKenna's are particularly upsetting. She was hiding her identity fir a very good reason, but the chemistry between the two if them is incredible. Rafael and McKenna and so good together, and she's wonderful with his son Dom. It's lovely getting to know both Rafael and McKenna, and seeing the strength they provide. The pacing is different, but that lets the story breath. The emotions are strong, but I think that's perfect. Definitely let this story speak to the heart. I find it interesting and captivating, plus totally rewarding due to the attention to plot and characters. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.

Another amazing book by Amy Brent. This book had all the feels you want in a single daddy millionaire meets a running for her life girl and she works for his company.

This book had so many amazing twists and turns along with some drama from an ex which is eventually handled through the courts but not before Rafael has to get his attention a couple of times and Dom's mother is a real piece of work but finally gets her comeuppance.
And Dom, O what a sweet child he is but that's because he's an old soul.

This book was a real page turner from the beginning and the Epilogue was so beautiful I cried.

I can't believe how many of Amy's books I have read and reviewed, all of which were mostly 5 star reads. “Office Fling” is once again a fantastic five star plus read. The well-developed leading characters are Raphael a wealthy CEO, a single dad with trust issues and Mckenna a beautiful woman on the run from an abusive ex who is working under an assumed name. This well-written emotional story has everything to keep you reading, sizzling sexual chemistry, abuse, a stalker, a horrible ex wife, fear, danger, secrets and romance. “Office Fling” is well worth reading and I definitely recommend it.

Wonderful Story! Who would have thought that the CEO of the company would fall for a night time cleaning person? When he tries to find more about her, he learns that she is working under a fake name. He should just leave her alone, but his suspicious mind needs to know why. Rafeal confronts Makeena, but after seeing his son's reaction to her, he can't seem to get her out of his mind. This is a wonderful story about learning what true love is and how a young girl learns to stand up for herself and gains a life she never expected. I believe this is one of Amy Brent's best books yet. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The rapport between Rafael and McKenna is wonderful to read. Even though they've been through so much individually, they are drawn to each other and work so well together. Add in Dom and Rafael's relationship, Dom and McKenna's relationship and the three of them together and you've got a truly sublime reading experience.

I liked that although there was chemistry, fantasies and sex, it was the relationships that shone throughout the book, they were all written really well and made me read from start to finish. This is my new favourite Amy Brent book!

Oh McKenna and Raphael, if ever there were two people on this earth you would be surprised to see together , it’s them. Well in the beginning that is. A boss and a cleaner , who knew .
Who would think that because of Raphael wanting to know who McKenna is, both their lives will never be the same ever again. Lots of passion, drama, secrets, crazy exes , and so much more. The chemistry between these two is off the charts but they do need some “light” relief after dealing with their crazy exes. Dom is such a little sweetheart.
A fantastic story, loved it all.

Major need of editing but over all a good read

This book is in MAJOR need of an editor. So many misspelled words and sentences that made absolutely no sense. There were so many occasions that I had to read a sentence over before I could make sense of it. I did like the story though. It was sweet and touching. I liked little Dom so much and wanted to give his mother a good bashing on many an occasion. Both Rafeal (yes, I probably spelled his name wrong) and MacKenna are very well written characters and I love how they relate to each other. I would love to see a story written about Alisha. Over all a good book except for the many spelling and sentence errors.

I really enjoyed the way this single Dad romance comes about. I love that Mckenna the heroine is just trying to start over and that her relationship with Rafael's son is so natural. In addition, Mckenna and Rafael's connection is sizzling, combustable, and raw. This is one you won't want to put down and each new twist will pull you deeper into their lives. Amy does a great job of bringing us some dynamic characters that you will just fall in love with, and a storyline that will leave you breathless .
