Mine #3

Sugar, Mine

Rate this book

Kirsty I have lived in a constant nightmare for so long, I can’t ever remember having a normal life. I was never somebody’s anything besides a prisoner, a punching bag, someone’s debt to pay. I was betrayed by the very people who should have loved me. I’m not sure exactly what love means anymore. Is it being asleep, and being dragged from your bed at night to be told the world I once knew was a lie? That I was only ever born to cover up someone else’s mistake. A mistake that stole my life away from me. I learnt very quickly not to trust anybody, let alone a man, but one look into a pair of midnight eyes swimming in pain, woke something inside me I thought had died a long time ago. How can one look cause so many emotions to play through my body after feeling dead inside for so long? But I don’t know if I have anything else to give, I’m a shell of the girl I once was, and I don’t know if I will ever be whole again. Sugar: One touch, one look, one simple husky whispered word, and I felt the safest I had ever felt. Sergio was going to either fill the emptiness inside me or leave me gasping for air. Sergio Growing up surrounded by the mob, and looking like I do, means you come in handy for a lot of reasons. I learnt a long time ago, the ins and outs, and if it wasn’t for Dominic Grasso, I wouldn’t be breathing right now. I owe him everything, a debt I may never be able to pay. Laying my life on the line for him is the least I can do. Looking into a pair of huge brown eyes, laced with pain, I knew I had to try and save her, even if it meant opening old wounds. You don’t get too many second chances in life, so when one comes along, you don’t turn a blind eye, you reach out and grab it with both hands. Kirsty is that second chance, and I will lay my life on the line to find the answers she deserves. I am big, and scary as fuck, I don’t say a lot, but when she clung to me like I was her lifeline, she didn’t know it at the time, but she sealed her fate and became mine to save, to protect, to love. Sergio: I will set the world on fire to give Kirsty the peace she deserves. I will move Heaven and Earth to protect her, and I will fall to my knees to save her.

What can I say about Sugar Mine, except that it is sensational.
It was action packed, fast moving, hot ( oh so hot)
I felt the characters come to life in my mind, welcome me as one of the family, I went along for the ride.
I will definitely recommend this book. You will not be able to to put it down.

Sugar Mine is the third book in the ‘Mine’ series and I would recommend that you start with the first book of this series. Because although each book is about another couple, the storyline continues throughout the books so by starting in book one you will understand some things more.

After finishing book two I was very curious about this story, because it promised to be an emotional book and it was. Although Kirsty’s past was very dark and difficult, the writer only gave us glimpses of it, so that made that the story itself was not too dark. It’s more a story about love, hope and friendship.

Just like the other men in this series Sergio is very protective about his woman. He’s also gentle with her, very understanding about her needs but he can also be very dangerous when needed.
I liked both characters very much and I was happy to see the other two couples again.
I was very sorry when the story was done because I really, really wanted more. The story is told from both POV’s.

I’m looking forward to the next book.

This is the third book in the Mine series by Kay Maree. Kirsty found out on her fifteenth birthday that she was only born to repay a debt. She was dragged from her parents and her home in the middle of the night by a strange woman named Karen. For ten years she was beaten, tortured, and raped by Karen and a despicable man named Bruno J who claimed she was his property to do with as he saw fit. One day Bruno hands her over to two men telling her that he’s lending her to these two men. She ends up alone with Joey (the traitor that worked for Dominic Grasso) who takes her to an abandoned warehouse where thankfully she’s rescued by Antonio and Sergio. Antonio has just been released from jail and Sergio is outside waiting for him because they’ve gotten a location on Kat and they’re headed there. When Sergio and Antonio get to the warehouse they find Joey and a woman who is not Kat. Sergio sees Kirsty scared, dirty and huddled in the corner and he immediately wants to protect her and kill everyone who has hurt her. After everything Kirsty has been through she should be cautious but she can’t help feeling safe with Sergio. Some serious shit is revealed in this book that will really mess with Kat but also gives her closure.

Mine #3: Sugar, Mine by Kay Maree is a dark, emotional, and fiercely protective romance that grips you from the first page and doesn’t let go. This isn’t just a love story it’s a story of survival, redemption, and the healing power of connection after unthinkable pain.

Kirsty’s voice is raw and heartbreaking: a woman broken by betrayal, imprisoned by the very people who should have loved her, and stripped of any sense of safety or trust. Yet one glance into Sergio’s midnight eyes haunted and determined awakens something inside her she thought was dead.

Sergio, raised in the mob and shaped by violence, is a protector at heart. He owes his life to Dominic Grasso and has lived by a code of loyalty and survival. But when he finds Kirsty, she becomes his second chance: the woman he will burn the world for, protect with his life, and love back to wholeness.

Kay Maree excels at pairing gritty realism with heart-stopping passion, crafting characters who are scarred but unbreakable. The chemistry between Kirsty and Sergio is magnetic, their connection forged in fire and pain yet blooming into trust and devotion. Fans of dark romance and redemption arcs will find Sugar, Mine an intense, unforgettable journey.

I absolutely Loved this book! There's something about the Grasso men that will totally have you drooling. So alpha, overly protective, and so Mine!!! I knew from the middle of Kitten Mine (second book in the Mine series) that this book will tug at my heart.
Kirsty has been captive for almost 10 years, suffering, beaten and I'm sure other unthinkable punishments. Every single day over and over again.
Antonio and Sergio in a race to find Kat, break into the warehouse where Kirsty is being tortured. From the moment Sergio sees her, he has this overwhelming feeling of protection. He tells her she's safe and no one is going to hurt her anymore. But from the years of punishment it's hard for her to trust anyone.
This book is full of action, suspense, drama, and sexy scenes. The story line will have your heart racing. I can't wait for the next book. It already has me hooked!!!
I had the opportunity to read and review this book voluntary.

This series gets better and better

So I’m this book we really see how all of the villains from the other books are connected . Secrets are revealed . In this one Kirsten has been held and raped for 10 years . You will never guess who else in this group that the trafficker is connected to and how . It is shocking . Sergio is much like the other men in this group that once he sees Kirsten it is love at first sight instantly . He’s possessive and protective and these mafia members fight for women and children . I can’t believe that I have read all that have been released so far and still can’t get enough . I will definitely be reading more as this writer releases them .

This one is my favourite...until the next one anyway. Mafia romances aren't books I go hunting for, but I connected with this series and have enjoyed it.
This is Sergio and Kirsty's story and that girl has been through hell for 10 years. The story picks up from her rescue with enough flash backs to know what has happened before.
Parts of the story will break your heart, make you angry and make you happy. The story runs the gamut of emotions giving the reader plenty of 'feels'.
Great book, I highly recommend it.

The final book in the trilogy introduces us to Kirsty who we briefly met in 'Kitten Mine', and Sergio who was a fringe character in books one and two.
Like both previous books, this is told from both POV and includes characters we have met before. We get a little more progression on Kat and Antonio, as well as Brooklyn and Dom, whilst Kirsty and Sergio tell their own story - complete with drama, confusion and eventually a HEA.
Kay Maree teases us with a couple of characters who may have their own future in another book.

Woah, this book was amazing. It did not disappoint. I love the fact that all the books in the series intertwine with each other's stories. So not only are you getting a main story you are also finding out what happens to the other characters after they each tell their own journeys. I'm already on tenterhooks awaiting the next book in the series. Absolutely amazing work. I will follow this author's books until the end of time.

Still strong but I want more

I really enjoyed the story but realistically I want more story. So.define a story can be told in a few words and adding more makes it drag. So I am not saying a higher word count qould make it better, but there could be more to the story to continue to pull the reader in.
Yes there are some typos but they are easily looked past.

This is an author I will continue to read and watch we develop.

Was not a fan. This book is about a bunch of childish neanderthal meatheads if there even is such a term. They literally see a chick and "shes theirs". Dumb af. I choked this book down in 10 days. I couldn't/didn't want to pick it back up, but forced myself to.

Sugar, Mine is a 5 star epic rollercoaster ride of emotions and a definate must read book.

This is the third book in this series, but can be read as a standalone. I personally suggest that you read all the books in the series in order, only because it gives you the back story of some of the secondary characters in this book.

I absolutely loved this book. The story is well written and I couldn't put it down until I reached the end. I am looking forward to the next book that will feature Theo and Trixie.

This book is about Kirsty and Sergio. It is a dark romance and may have triggers for some people. It touches on the subject of kidnapping and rape, but there are no detailed descriptions of either of these acts. But if you are sensitive to these things then you may want to skip this book. That being said I found this book and it's characters totally engaging and it is an emotional read. Kristy is given to a man as payment for her family's debt when she is just fifteen years old. (Note there are no descriptions of what might have happened to her right after she was given as payment for the debt.) The book pretty much fast forwards ten to fifteen years and Kristy finds herself being given to another person to pay off the debt of the man who took her from her parents. She gets rescued by Antonio and Sergio because at first they thought it was Katherine, Antonio's girl, that was being held prisoner. This book takes you through what happens when Sergio realizes that Kirsty is his "one and only" and he calls her Sugar. They are far from safe as now the man, Bruno J, who took Kirsty in the first place is our to find her and so is Paulie the man that Bruno J promised Kirsty to. Grab this book and hold on for the epic rollercoaster ride of emotions that will follow. Definitely a must read.

Kristy has been locked away from the outside world where she was hurt and had a bunch of things done to her. When she is taken to a different place she gets the saving she has always wanted and needed.
Sergio is a strong man and when he sees Kristy his Sugar he wants to protect her from everyone and everything even himself. With all that she has been thur will she able to trust him and her feelings when she has only ever know pain. Sergio knows what he wants and he will have her anyway she will allow. Will they he able to have what they want or will.other forces and foes keep them apart.
Truly an amazing read with twist and turns. Will make you laugh and cry and has all the feels and you will not be disappointed

wow this amazing read had me in tears for most of the book I loved it ! I love this 5 star read it's a slow burning love at first sight dark mafia romance. When we meet kirsty she is laying on the grass outside but we quickly find out that kirsty has been though a lot sold by her family into a life that beats, rapes and controls her until Sergio and Antonio save her from Joey and a life that broke her. Sergio becomes her Angel and they save each other it takes a while for kirsty to heal. Sergios is a alpha male as soon as he meets her she becomes his and protects her with all that he is. this book is very addictive and for me was very emotional which i loved I also loved all the twists and turns. But I recemed reading the series but can be read as a stand alone.

I love this book. Kay maree is a amazing writer whos writing gets better everytime i read it and I can't wait to read Trixie and Theos book next in the series.
